Chapter 8: Nygma's secret

We cut to the roof of GCPD where the Bat-Signal shines.

Waiting for Batman's arrival was of course Gordon, Bullock but not happy about it surprisingly, Dr. Meridian and Knox...hoping to get an interview with him.

"For the last time, Knox. We're not calling him here for an interview." Gordon said.

"You think I'll waste an opportunity like this Commissioner? I've been on Batman for years and I'm finally gonna make a Pulitzer out of this." Knox said.

"What'd you gonna ask him? Is he Dracula's son? I don't get why we're not just calling him to arrest and smash this damn thing once and for all!" Bullock said.

Bullock slams a fist on the Bat-Signal causing it to flicker.

"Detective, I think you need an appointment." Chase said.

"I'll make one after we arrest this freak." Bullock said.

"Sometimes you need a freak to fight other freaks." A voice came.

They all look up to see The Dark Knight standing above them on a gargoyle.

Chase and Knox were impressed by Gordon grins and Bullock was dissatisfied.

Batman leaps down landing on his feet.

"Hot entrance." Chase said.

"I trust you heard about the circus?" Gordon asked.

"Yes. Dent killed the Grayson's there." Batman said.

"And they left a teenage son behind. He's in Bruce Wayne's care now." Gordon said.

"I have sessions with Bruce. Maybe I can help him, too." Chase said.

"I'm sure he'd appreciate it, Dr. Meridian." Batman said.

"Hey Batman, Alexander Knox. Its honor to finally meet you in person. I been working your case since 89. I was hoping to get a few words..." Knox said.

Batman suddenly grabs Knox's tape recorder and CRUSHES it.

"HEY!" Knox yelled.

"I warned you." Gordon said.

"Leave it, Jim. What's the real problem?" Batman asked.

"We found another Riddler." Gordon said.

Gordon handed Batman. Gordon the riddle onvo pop he opens it and reads it.

"I will travel day and night but I will never stop till I get to my destination. What am I?" Batman asked.

"What's that mean on a road trip?" Bullock said.

"A train." Batman said.

"You mean The Riddler planted another bomb at a train station?" Gordon asked.

"Or on board a train. What's the latest train going this hour?" Batman asked.

"There's...the Gotham Midnight Hour. It runs from Monday to Thursday." Gordon said.

When everyone turned to Batman's direction he was gone.

"Every damn time." Gordon said.

We come to Edward's apartment.

Edward just came back from Wayne Enterprises and is eager to get started on something.

He then walked to his book shelf taking a red book and blue book switching their spots and the shelf moved to the left side revealing a room behind it a hall with a door at the end.

He walked down the hall opening the door revealing a green lighted room.

If you haven't figured it out yet Nygma is placed on a green coat and hat that takes a golden cane.

That's right Edward Nygma is the Riddler.

It would explain all the suspicions he gave through it all and behind him...

...was a Riddler machine sort of his own 8 ball that points yes or no and laughs from a speaker.

"Glad you had fun. But let's see if anyone found my Riddler." Riddler said.

Riddler turned on a number of screens on his desk where he views everything in Gotham.

He did see Bullock find the riddle Gordon gave Batman earlier.

"Perfect. Now let's see if the train is taking the route as I predicted." Riddler said.

Nygma types on his keyboard a screen view of a train crossing north Gotham.

"Right on schedule. It'll take them a miracle to solve this if they hadn't already. I love to see Batman solve it and if he does he'll have to be smarter than me to save the train." Riddler said.

Next thing that happens the phone on Riddler's desk rings.

"Ugh! This better be important." Riddler said.

Riddler answers.

"Yes?" Riddler asked.

Two-Face speaks on the line in a gruffled voice.

"Where the hell are you?" Two-Face asked.

"I have a new riddle in progress. What'd you want?" Riddler asked.

"For your riddle finally unmasks the Bat. It's been a month and nothing!" Two-Face said.

"You must have patience, Harvey. That was Joker and Penguin's down fall. It won't be mine." Riddler said.

"Just make sure this riddle pays off. If it doesn't I'll kill him myself." Two-Face said.

"And that's where you'll fail. You can't rely on your nickel for everything. But by the end of the night Batman's face will be clay in our hands." Riddler said.

"If you say so." Two-Face said.
