Chapter 10: The Midnight Hour riddle

The Batwing zooms on flying above the train tracks.

Batman turns on his radar and scans for the train staring forward following the tracks.

Soon enough the radar buzzed, it picked up the train heading his way and saw it coming.

Batman pulls up and the Batwing hovers up for the train to move under it the batwing flies turning around and follows the train.

The Dark Knight knew if he was to find the riddle he would have to get on board the train.

But his radar went Static making him frown and who happened to come on...was the Riddler.

Batman's expression raised in surprise seeing him on his screen.

"Riddle me this. Riddle me that: Who's afraid of the big bad bat?" The voice of Riddler asked.

"Riddler." Batman said.

"Me? Afraid of you? Heh heh you can't scare someone smarter than you so easily. But this is an honor really. In fact I have been looking for you for a long time. To hear you were looking for me I was touched." The voice of Riddler said.

"You corrupted the DA and killed innocent people. You made it hard to ignore you." Batman said.

"Still. I'm honored." The voice of Riddler said.

"No more games. How did you get on this frequency?" Batman asked.

"There's a trophy on that train. It links to every nearby technology giving me access to radio or channel. How you think got on Harvey's TV at the hospital I have inside help everywhere in Gotham. You think one man can plant a hundred Riddles in one big city like Gotham?" The voice of Riddler asked.

"You let the people on that train go. Or I'll hunt you down." Batman said.

"Empty threats from a man dressed up like a flying rat. They say you're the world's greatest detective but you can't detect me. I'm a needle in a haystack. Solve my Riddle, find my undercover to find the next or plenty of deaths of innocent biceps will be on you. It's been a killer finally meeting you Dark Knight. I look forward to solving the riddle behind your mask." The voice of Riddler said.

The Riddler cuts out leaving Batman frustrated and looks out to the train.

He activates the autopilot on the Batwing, opens the hatch and dives out raising his cape like wings.

And lands on the middle car.

He takes a gadget from his belt, a laser ray to cut a hole and leaps in.

Batman presses on the left side of his cowl a pair of goggles with detective vision attached on the eyelids of his mask.

He scanned everything to find a heat signature. There was a man hiding in one the crates Batman charges at it busting it open scaring the man screaming bloody murder.

Batman grabs the man by the collar lifting him off his feet.

"THE BOMB! TELL ME WHERE IT IS!" Batman called.

In panic the man whimpered pointing behind him Batman turns, throwing him aside using his vision scanner detecting another Riddler trophy.

And the bomb.

The next thing Batman hears is a recording of the Riddler's voice instructing how to disarm the bomb.

"The code to defuse this bomb is the answer to this riddle: If you look at the numbers on my face you won't find 13 any place. What am I?" The voice of Riddler asked.

"A clock." Batman said.

Batman types it in and the bomb defused.

Batman turns around seeing the man who planted the bomb trying to get away and he takes his grapple shooting a line at him.

Tying his legs together and falling feeling being pulled.

The man kept yelling like a bitch and Batman grabbed him grappling back up.

The Dark Knight holds Riddler's smuggler over the edge of the running train he screamed and pleaded for his life.

"For the love of God Batman please don't drop me!" The man called.

"Where is the Riddler?!" Batman called.

"I don't know! I swear!" The man called.

Batman loosens his grip and the man yelps.

"WHERE IS HE?!" Batman called.

"I swear to God I don't know! He only calls us! He doesn't leave any info for us unless we solve his Riddles!" The man said.

"Then you won't mind giving me his number!" Batman said.

"It's an unknown number! He doesn't leave anything to trace him! He's too clever!" The man said.

"Not for long!" Batman said.

Batman took something off the man; it was a retro cell phone in the early 90's.

Batman leaves the man tied up in wires in the cargo for the police waiting at the train station.

Batman flies back to the Batcave on the Batwing.
