Chapter 14: Cat chase

After hours of unlocking the private numbers Bruce manages to trace the private numbers to a casino as soon as it was dark Bruce suits up and rides away on the Batmobile.

As Batman drives to his destination Alfred chimes in from the Batcomputer.

"Master Bruce, Mr. Fox just telephoned back. He says Mr. Nygma hasn't come in today. Believe it to be another suspension?" Alfred asked.

Batman nods while driving.

"Possibly. I'll have to pay Nygma a visit at his home if the Riddler isn't at the casino or has no clues. There's more to this I'm sure of." Batman said.

The hatch of the Batmobile opens and Batman hops out storming up the stairs.

He saw the door...was tilted open...someone had already broken in.

Bruce had a bad feeling who it might be.

He entered the building where a dance floor remained and he grappled up to the second floor.

Another door was opened and Bruce entered walking into the casino he traced the private number to.

And to his surprise, which wasn't too surprising to him...

...it was Catwoman prying open the safe behind the bar.

Memories came flashing in Batman's head as he stood behind Catwoman seriously.

Catwoman smiles, turning her head to face Batman.

"Hello Bruce...still as handsome as ever." Catwoman said.

"Selina." Batman said.

"You look good. Been working out?" Catwoman asked.

"Where have you been?" Batman asked.

"Had to lay low. Reconciling my nine lives till next Christmas." Catwoman said.

"You're wanted for murder now, Selina. If you had just let me take Shrek to GCPD-" Batman said.

"Oh don't lecture me Bruce. Shrek has gotten off easy countless times. You never could-" Catwoman said.

"I had evidence that proves he was corrupted." Batman said.

"Then your law friends will understand why I killed him." Catwoman said.

"It does NOT justify your actions murder is still murder." Batman said.

"You murdered the Joker!" Catwoman called.

Batman's eyes widened by Catwoman's outburst.

"What made him different than Shrek? You think I didn't had time to learn about that night at Gotham Catheridal Church on 89? All of Gotham say he fell to his death while trying to escape but it was too obvious...when I learned it was him who killed your parents. Shrek dropped me off a window and I wasn't the first he killed. But I'm wanted for murder? What's your excuse?" Catwoman asked.

"I was a different person back then. Young. Angry. But I changed...after seeing you fry Shrek to a crisp. It was my own wake up call. I saw myself what I was then. If I did then as I do now the Joker and Penguin would be looked at in Arkham Asylum now." Batman said.

"So you won't kill anymore? Not sure I feel as strongly about it as you do." Catwoman said.

"Which is why I can't let you run wild. I have to bring you in." Batman said.

"Such a shame." Catwoman said.

Selina moves closer to Bruce, her face inches from his.

And she whispers seductively, locking her eyes in his.

"Catch me if you can." Catwoman said.

Catwoman headbuts Batman and makes a run for it Batman sits up and gives chase.

Bruce followed Selina outside where she lifted herself up to a building using her whip.

Batman grapples up after her.

He continues chasing Catwoman leaping from rooftop to rooftop.

Batman glides above her.

But Catwoman turns around, knocking him down with his whip.

But Batman lands on his feet and Catwoman starts fighting him, forcing the Dark Knight to fight back.

Catwoman mostly slaps him around like she did in their first fight.

Especially Batman blocking her every attack until he grabs hold of both her arms forcing her to stop.

"That's enough!" Batman called.

"Where's the fun in that?" Catwoman asked.

"This isn't about fun Selina. It's about right and wrong. Something you could learn yourself." Batman said.

"Give me a break, Bats. The last thing I need is a lecture." Catwoman said.

"You wouldn't need one if you hadn't killed Shrek." Batman said.

"Did you get one from your butler you dropped the Joker from his helicopter?" Catwoman asked.

"Alfred has nothing to do with this." Batman said.

"Maybe not but does your new girlfriend know about your identity?" Catwoman asked.

Batman froze, not answering that question.

Selina laughs.

"Won't you have couples counseling before the wedding. Let me know how she takes it." Catwoman said.

"Leave Chase out of this!" Batman called.

"Ooh, I wondered where your temper went. Let me know when you tell Chasey. And how she takes it but if she dumps your ass like Viki did...I'll still be about." Catwoman said.

Catwoman knees him in the stomach and dives back off the edge.

Batman looks down...she is already gone.

"So that's what that feels like." Batman said.
