Chapter 18: Next phase
Batman and Selina land on the roof.
"Are you alright?" Batman asked.
"Thanks loads, Bats. I'll admit I guess I was wrong about every woman you try to save ends up dead." Selina said.
"It's what I do." Batman said.
Selina moves in to kiss but hears a snap Batman cuffs Selina's wrists together with bat cuffs.
Selina chuckles and sighs.
"Really?" Selina asked.
"I told you I have to bring you in." Batman said.
"Right, it's what you do." Selina said.
Selina headbuts Batman and runs to a roof door breaking the locks with one kick running inside.
Batman chases her inside but she's gone again.
"Damn…" Batman said.
When GCPD were already on the scene they evacuated the hostages and arresting Riddler's men.
Once again Bullock and Gordon argue with Batman's part in this…
"THIS IS THE LAST STRAW COMMISS! THAT WING FREAKED HAS CAUSED ENOUGH DAMAGE! WE WOULDN'T HAVE THIS DISASTER IF WE ALREADY ARREST THE SON OF A BITCH!" Bullock said angrily.
"I'M ALREADY HAD ENOUGH OF YOUR ATTITUDE BULLOCK! SO ANY TIME YOU WANT TO LEAVE YOU CAN CONSIDER YOURSELF DISMISSED!" Gordon said angrily to Bullock.
"YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO FIRE ME! AFTER YOU LOST ECKHART-" Bullock said.
"Commissioner." Chase said.
Chase walks up to Gordon and Bullock with concerned.
"Dr. Meridian." Gordon said.
"I was here with Bruce Wayne but I got separated from him before the thugs burst in." Chase said.
"He was probably evacuated first. But we'll try to reach him." Gordon said.
"If the Bat hasn't ate him." Bullock said.
"BULLOCK!" Gordon called.
"I'll just call him myself, thanks." Chase said.
Chase left, leaving the two cops to continue to argue.
(Later at Nygma's apartment…)
Edward comes in his door just for a lamp to turn on by his surprise…
…it's Two-Face flipping his coin.
"Long night?" Two-Face asked.
"What'd you doing here?" Edward asked.
"Both of us lost the bet. The Bat slipped from both our traps!" Two-Face said.
"All you did was take my bombs and blow up my construction site. You think he's just a bug waiting to be squished?" Edward asked.
"Least we had a plan." Two-Face said.
"We we we it's always we. Look, the two thing is creative but you're still a one man." Edward said.
"My point is I'm done playing these games! Are we gonna unmask him or not?!" Two-Face said.
"Of course we are." Edward said.
"WHEN?!" Two-Face called.
"I'm working on it! But in the mean time I need to prepare my Riddle for the next phase." Edward said.
"Riddle this! Riddle this! I'm sick and tired of these damn Riddles!" Two-Face said.
"Well you're not gonna kill him with just guns and bullets. Otherwise he wouldn't have lasted this long." Edward said.
"Well this better work or the coin might have a different result for ya." Two-Face said.
"What of it's merciful the Bat?" Edward asked.
"Then it won't be for you. You still did this to me even if the Bat left this happened cause he was jealous this is still on you as it is him." Two-Face said.
"At least I opened your eyes." Edward said.
"Why do you hate him? You never mentioned your reasons." Two-Face said.
"Oh I'm really glad you asked Harvey. You see my father didn't think I'd ever out smart him. That there wasn't a single Riddle I can't solve. Well given Batman's identity id the greatest riddle of all I attend to prove my father wrong when I unmask him when he's looking down with a dumbfounded look." Edward said.
"All this cause you have daddy issues. You're pathetic." Two-Face said.
"You're one to talk. Did your father give you that coin? Said he made his luck with it?" Edward asked.
Harvey looked at his coin seeing Edward's point.
"Want to flip it again? Just to get a little comfort from Daddy?" Edward asked.
"Shut up! Just tell me what the next phase is." Two-Face said.
"Well Wayne Plaza almost worked. But he found a way to disarm my bombs. So bombs won't cut it alone this time. I need a hostage or two." Edward said.
"Who did you have in mind?" Two-Face said.
"That I'm still working on. We could take the Commissioner. He and the Bat are BFF's." Edward said.
"Gordon? We wouldn't waste time with him. Harvey worked with him closely. He's old but not an open target." Two-Face said.
"Fair point. What about Bruce Wayne?" Edward asked.
"STAY AWAY FROM BRUCE!" Harvey called.
"QUIET DENT!" Two-Face called.
"Oh that's right you and Wayne were BFF's. All the more reason we should take him as our hostage." Edward said.
Two-Face flips his coin for Bruce and in a way…to his relief…it was bad heads.
"Fate agrees. We leave Bruce alone." Harvey said.
"Fine. You're quite soft on him in both personalities." Riddler said.
"I could care less about Wayne. Harv just hates to lose his buddy buddy." Two-Face said.
"Know anyone else?" Edward asked.
"There was…this pretty doctor at the Hospital. Name Meridian…" Two-Face said.
Nygma flinched given his crush on Chase.
"Heads we take her tails nanda." Two-Face said.
He flips it again but Nygma grabs it.
"Not Dr. Meridian. She's my psychiatrist." Edward said.
"Sounds to me she's more than that to you." Two-Face said.
"It's called compassion. If I have Bruce Wayne alone you leave Chase Meridian alone." Edward said.
"Then who will be our bat bait?" Two-Face said.
"Let me worry about that." Edward said.
