Kili goes to ask for Thorin's blessing for his marriage to Thranduil. Thorin angrily lists all the reasons why this union would be a bad idea. Kili tries to stay firm but eventually he breaks down crying.

During their fight with the Goblins Kili got hurt more than he let on. When the Company finally makes camp near a river to rest and wash up he leaves to find some privacy because he doesn't want the others to worry about him.
