Story 7: Chapter 2

Disclaimer: I own nothing.

Chapter 2: Power Levelling.

- Silas -

I shut the windows as I looked at the mess that was outside and let out a sigh once more.

Outside, there were several supernatural beings whom I didn't even know existed going around and clearing the evidence of any fights as well as doing the stuff which I only remember from MIB.

They were basically clearing the minds of those who had seen what they had seen only to find nothing in them.

Ainz had noticed the problem when they had completed taking care of everyone who attacked the shop.

I did kinda feel bad for those attackers… only a bit. They didn't even break my window or more like they couldn't and it cost them their lives.

Although, that pity disappeared as I looked at the collapsed bodies of the children.

These bastards had experimented on children, binding their souls with… NotPokemon, basically turning them into mindless monsters. They got what was coming to them.

The main problem which was noticed by Ainz was the danger it would bring the shop if other supernatural beings found out about the restaurant and decided to take action. We still didn't know about how strong they were or rather could be but from what little information we had gotten out of the girls, it seemed that even these NotPokemon of Tobio and Lavinia could destroy entire countries and so could the purple fire of that woman.

No wonder my head was giving me warnings when I saw the fire for the first time.

Zeref agreed with the suggestions and so did Rimuru so the first thing we did was clear up our tracks.

Irene, the woman who was with Zeref, suggested that we finish off any witnesses, making the kids almost piss their pants.

I however rejected that immediately.

I might be a devil or whatever but I wasn't scum.

Rimuru and the oldies agreed with me as did Saitama and Touma and surprisingly Zeref so the woman didn't push either.

Ainz then went off to wipe the memories of the ones around the place with one of his spells.

Irene made a contract for the kids to sign which would prevent them from revealing information about us.

They agreed.

The ghost of a smirk I might or might not have seen on her face at that moment made me think that she was probably trying to get this end in the first place.

We got some information from the kids about what was happening but apparently they were quite new at this too… well, except Lavinia who had been unconscious.

They did explain what happened in such cases.

Basically the supernatural factions played MIB on the common people. It explained why I never heard of anything odd happening in the world.

They also gave us a gist of the condition of the Supernatural world, or at least as much as they knew, well Natsume, the blonde girl because Tobio didn't know anything either.

This area was a neutral ground of sorts.

The main factions in Japan were the Shinto Gods, Youkai and the Onmyoji Clans, mainly the Five Principal Clans. The Youkai also had several other factions within them.

There were also the occasional members of the Abrahamic factions which were Angels, Devils and the Fallen Angels. I am a Devil, a member of the race created by fucking Lucifer when he rebelled from heaven.

Yes. Apparently, in this world Lucifer created a fucking race and other angels who were kicked out of Heaven became Fallen Angels instead of Devils.

Why I was here was not revealed from the information. But I couldn't think of any good reasons for it.

Eh, who cares. I got a good life. I have no complaints about the family I got here. My parents, who were most-likely not my birth parents, treated me so well that I didn't even know I was adopted. Why would I have a problem with them?

As for conspiracy theories about them using me or what not, since there was no way of finding that out anymore, I'd rather not sully the memories of my parents with such thoughts.

A glass can be half empty or half full depending on a user's perspective. Not appreciating the fact that you have half a glass of something when many others don't even have that privilege is childish. This is the principle I have lived with. If something cannot be changed, there is no use bitching about it and making your life a pity party.

Anyways, not straying from the topic at hand.

They decided to leave the shop while Lavinia rested on the upper floor. She will be allowed to leave when she decides to sign the contract or her memories will be wiped.

Tobio thanked us before going. He was quite a polite guy. He was carrying his girlfriend before leaving.

I closed the restaurant and we had Hayato man the shop while the more noticeable members decided to leave for their worlds. I was welcomed by some of them to visit while the heat faded away.

Both Ainz and Rimuru wanted to host me as did Zeref. Even the other guys welcomed me but I decided to take on Rimuru's offer first because, well, Nazarick wasn't exactly made for humans to live.

With my shop being completely blanketed by the power of the System, there was no danger inside the shop. They wouldn't even be able to detect us.

"So, what do we do going forward?" Rimuru asked.

"Let the heat cool off for a while. In the meantime, Silas can stay in one of our worlds and get stronger." Ainz suggested.

"The Demon Seed is solving the problem of not having any Demonic Power. The more you train, the stronger you get. I can assign someone to teach you magic if you want."

Magic?

I wouldn't lie.

Which guy hasn't wondered about being able to use Magic at least once?

I wasn't an exception. In fact, being a reincarnator, I was even more disappointed in my earlier years when I didn't get any magic or anything.

"We can assign someone to teach you magic as well but I just need to scout more of the land around us. We are still not sure if others can learn the Magic from Yggdrasil." Ainz answered regretfully.

"You can always learn Martial Arts. Your fists never betray you. I want to see how strong a Devil can become if they train in martial arts." Hayato offered.

"That, I wouldn't lie, is quite a prospect. I wouldn't mind giving it a try as well." Issac scratched his beard. "A Nen using Supernatural Being…"

"Martial Arts take a long time to master. We don't have that long a time."

"I can do something too, you know. I have some magicians in my world and apparently people get summoned in my world often and get magic when they do so. We can try to see if you get something." Rimuru offered a suggestion.

"Oh! And is this power gain almost instant?" Ainz asked.

"Well, there are things like naming someone which can give them power. The goblins working under me all evolved into Hobgoblins when I named them and gained a lot of power. Since Silas is not a human, we can try and see if that works."

"That's interesting." Ainz scratched his jaw.

"Merging the Demon Seed by learning magic from our world would be wiser." Irene suggested. "Although, having a stronger base to work with never hurts."

Rimuru's world is… so untainted.

Yes, that's the word.

It looked so clean compared to the modern world.

The goblins who looked a lot like humans except for certain features and their green colours looked at me with interest and awe.

"This is Tempest. My little village." Rimuru bounced as he showed me around the village. "Everyone, this is Silas, my close friend. Please treat him like one of us."

The goblins bowed to me.

Honestly, this was a little uncomfortable, what's with me not being used to all this.

"Okay. Let's do this. I name you, Silas." Rimuru declared and almost at the same instant, a voice resounded through my ears and a large amount of energy started to fill my body.

I went into a trance.

My wish?

What do I wish for?

Hmm, maybe to be able to run my restaurant better. I guess, be a better chef.

Unique Skill Gained: Chef.

I might be a Devil but I don't want to become a heartless monster. The Demon Seed could change someone's personality but I don't want to be controlled by it. I wanted someone to keep me sane.

Extra Skill Gained: Sage.

And with this, I lost my consciousness.

Extra Skill Gained: Magic Manipulation.

Extra Skill Gained: Universal Speak.

Rare Skill Gained: Water Manipulation.

Rare Skill Gained: Ice Manipulation.

Skill Gained: Demonic Core.

- Rimuru -

He watched as Silas lost consciousness. It was only the reassurance of Great Sage which kept him calm now.

It was a miracle that he was able to connect to his friends. He would never be able to look himself in a mirror if he actually fucked up the life of a friend now.

'The Individual Silas Evans has gained a Unique Skill called Chef.'

Chef? Yeah, it was the Skill Silas would get. Silas cooked the best darned food he had ever tasted in his life.

If someone else got the Chef Skill other than Silas, Rimuru would have an objection.

What does the Skill do?

Unique Skill Chef has several sub Skills.

First is Analysis. It allows the user to analyse anything he sees or touches, be it Material, Magic or any Skill of any kind.

So, a bit similar to Great Sage.

Then again he guessed, a Chef needed to know the ingredients to cook better food.

Second is Certain Outcome. It allows the user to overwrite the nature and fate of an object, being or even laws. Even if one tries to oppose the user, the user will just overwrite it with a stronger wish. This skill is given absolute priority and must achieve the desired effects of the user. Only those who possess a similar skill can oppose the user.

Last Optimal Action, it allows the user to see or know the best path or method to reach a certain objective.

"Is there a way I can make him stronger?" He asked Great Sage.

'Great Sage suggests intense magical training and being named by another being of great power.'

"Named? We can name people more than once?"

'Each successive use takes more Magicules.'

"I see. We need to get him trained in the next few days, enough to be able to defend himself in case he ever encounters people like those."

'The Analysis of the Magic, Spriggan Law has been completed.'

….

What?

- Azazel -

Azazel let out a sigh as he slumped down on his couch.

This fiasco was taking more effort than he thought to solve. Then again, someone went and cast a spell which covered the entire country and not only that, it wiped out only those of the Utsusemi Organization and the Wizards of Oz, which meant that the attack was targeted. Just what kind of monster did those people provoke?

Destroying a country is something that several beings can do. Even destroying the world is not impossible for those in the Top 5 and the Dragon of Dreams but this…

Selectively destroying each and every life throughout a country. He shuddered when thinking about it.

And he was sure that he was not the only one.

The other two of the Three Factions were even worse.

That attack… it was a wave of… black light. That was his power. None of his descendants had inherited it. He looked at the sleeping Vali and let out another sigh.

A feat like that was impossible for even Lucifer. So it must have been one of his descendants that he didn't know about.

He had already received calls from Serafall and Michael both regarding the attack. They must be shitting their pants knowing there was someone who could wipe out their entire faction within a country without them being able to do anything.

The Church was shaking in their boots while shouting about finding and punishing whoever was responsible but neither dared to even step out from their buildings.

The infamy of his elder brother was really something.

Still… he knew that something was different, this time.

Whoever this person was, hadn't revealed himself all these years and he knew for a fact that it was the Utsusemi Organization and the Wizards of the Oz leading the attack this time. He was on his way there but was deviated because of some traitors inside Grigori. Another problem he had to solve.

Although, he did get some clues about the personality of this guy.

He was sure that Natsume and Tobio had encountered them. While they didn't answer any of his questions, Lavinia's absence was a glaring problem which they couldn't explain. From what he understood, they were under some kind of magical contract to not speak. Normal modus operandi for such cases was to wipe out the memories or just silence the witnesses if that wasn't the option. There was a chance that their Sacred Gears could have helped them resist mental interference and thus the contract was indeed a better option. It's just that, it was the last thing he would expect from a Lucifer.

It meant that whoever he was, wasn't as bloodthirsty as his family.

The part that they missed however was that their Sacred Gears could in fact communicate and give out clues because they were not under any contracts and neither could their minds be wiped.

Something to work on later.

The only conjunctions he could make was that whoever this guy is was attacked and knowing Augusta's Sacred Gear, he went all out and sent the entire organisation to hell.

Literally everyone, from the common footmen to Ultimate Class top fighters were all dead.

The incident shook half the world.

They were working under the cover that it was a terrorist attack which failed. It was the truth too, technically because the two organisations which were destroyed, were indeed terrorist organisations.

Thankfully, the attack was so fast that normal people didn't even register it.

Despite the anger, no one dared to move, too afraid to make the madman move again.

The situation in Japan will be tense for a while at least.

- Silas -

I woke up as a goblin ran out of the room, informing others about me.

I got up in the meanwhile and checked my body.

I had grown a few inches, my body looked the same, only much more toned and stronger than before.

It reminded me of the scene from Captain America where Steve Rogers transforms into the superhero form. I mean, I was fucking ripped.

I looked at myself in the mirror. My looks were practically the same, only more defined. I had a slightly baby face, black hair and purple eyes. None of that changed, except now, I looked much sharper. I basically went from the cute type to the cool type.

The thing which had changed the most was the Demonic Power inside me. It was raging around in my body.

Overall, it was several times what I had earlier.

I raised a hand and as if I already knew what I wanted, with a swirl of air, droplets of water coalased together forming a ball of water. I could control the power as if controlling my own limb, changing its shape and speed.

And then with another thought, the ball froze into a solid ball of ice. The process was almost instant.

I will not lie but the entire thing fascinated me to no end.

"Silas, you are up. How do you feel?" Rimuru's voice came from behind me.

I turned around to see him in his slime form followed by another Goblin whose name was Gobuta maybe, I think?

"Yes. I feel amazing. There are no abnormal changes in my body. I somehow know I got new powers and now I can even use magic." I showed him the water ball and ice spell.

Rimuru then went on to explain to me my Skills and powers.

"So all I need to do is practise my Skills?"

"Umu. Work it like a muscle. The best and easiest way would be fighting things but first, I want to eat something." The guy drooled, even as a slime.

I shook my head and went out. They had prepared ingredients for me and I got to cooking.

In doing so I tried my Chef Skill.

This thing was… cheating. Yeah, it was cheating.

It gave me information about anything I touched and used the Skill on which was convenient. The actual cheating part was where I could make tree bark taste like chicken soup without even trying.

It did help to provide a variety of tastes to the goblins who only had a select variety of ingredients.

"So, what's the plan?" I asked Rimuru who was chowing down a piece of monster meat.

"We fight. The more Skills and Magic you see and use, the more you can learn how to use your powers.I will stay behind and protect you. We can invite Ainz and the others too when we go out to hunt stronger monsters."

"Sounds good."

Over the next two days, I continuously used magic and my Skills with some suggestions from Rimuru.

My Chef and Sage Skills made learning stuff stupidly easy so we called Ainz and moved on to hunting.

Lavinia had awakened in the meanwhile and decided to sign the contract. She was surprisingly taken by a guy called August who was Zeref's subordinate because he thought she had potential.

She too wanted some time away from the world and decided to follow.

She did say that she will return soon enough.

On a side note, since Augusta was killed while possessing Lavinia's body, she now gained that purple fire Sacred Gear as well. It was called Incinerate Anthem if I remember correctly.

The problem came when Rimuru tried to name Ainz. Turns out that Ainz was too strong for the current Rimuru to name.

Thus we decided to wait till Rimuru became stronger before he named Ainz. There were in fact Undead in this world so his presence was not unknown.

"So, where are we going now?" I asked Rimuru, who was very excited.

"On an adventure obviously. We already have a party of three. Too bad Saitama wasn't at home or we could have had a perfect party of four. We are going to power level you."

….

The adventure consisted of us going in a random straight line, killing any monsters we encountered in the way. I was the one in front.

If I ever got in a dangerous position, Ainz nuked them with a Tier 9 spell or Rimuru just glomped their bodies.

We settled down in a camp after two weeks of adventuring.

During these past weeks alone, my body had grown accustomed to my new power and was growing steadily.

My Demonic Power had grown and was still growing at a ridiculous pace due to the food we had been eating.

According to Rimuru, I was near the level of a Greater Demon now and would soon reach that level if I kept on my current training.

"So you can just eat anything and you gain their abilities?" I asked Rimuru, intrigued.

If that was true, then I could make him overpowered considering the things I saw in the Shop's list. Provided they had enough money though.

I remember there being the corpse of an animal called Dragon King Derous or something which can shoot a beam strong enough to destroy multiple planets.

"Umu."

"That's cheating, you know." Ainz commented while picking a piece of monster meat and taking a bite.

"I had to evolve from a Slime, you know. From literally the lowest of the mobs. Even the level one goblins are stronger than those."

"I guess you have a point."

"Still, this world is so wonderful. I never imagined being able to walk around without a mask, let alone eat natural food ever." Ainz commented, shaking his head.

Yeah, his world was depressing.

"Human greed has no limits." Rimuru said slumping back with a full stomach too while looking at the night sky.

"It was the reason why all members of Nazarick were non-humans. We had perhaps lost our faith."

"But hey, there are good humans too. Saitama is one example." Rimuru offered.

"He is? I thought he was secretly becoming a cyborg."

….

And with that all of us burst into laughter.

They might make fun of Saitama all the time but I knew that it was to get him to express more emotions. Anger or even irritation was an emotion after all.

Saitama knew of this as well.

The guy acted dumb but he was quite smart where it mattered.

Suddenly a wolf under Rimuru jumped out of the shadows. "My lord, there is a fight going on in the distance. Several thousand orcs are attacking an ogre village with a few hundred ogres.."

"Orcs and ogres? Also, several thousand?" Rimuru asked, surprised.

The wolf nodded.

We looked at each other before Ainz suggested. "It is a good opportunity to get some new subordinates, Rimuru. Save them and ask them to join you. Monsters respect power. Show overwhelming power and you can gain their allegiance. These Ogres must be strong to be able to hold on even against so many orcs."

"But several thousand, do we even stand a chance?" He asked and I agreed. Our chances didn't look good.

"Their numbers will just act as fodder for my undead." Ainz replied proudly.

Rimuru looked pensive for a moment and then as if he remembered something, he stood up. "Okay, let's go then. Ranga, show us the way."

The scene in front of us was straight out of some horror movie.

Hordes of orcs were surrounding a village of ogres and several of them had died already but they were holding on, desperately. It was clear that they would lose sooner or later.

I did observe that whenever the orcs ate something, they got stronger and became immune to some attacks which hurt them before.

Moreover, there were many stronger orcs in their midst too who took several ogres to hold on. Not to mention, there were two other monsters who were stronger than the orcs, especially the fat clown who gave me a dangerous feeling.

Rimuru flew up above the village and shouted out loudly, getting the attention of several of the monsters.

"I am Rimuru Tempest, leader of the Goblin Village of Jura Forest. I have come here to offer assistance."

The orcs didn't even pay any attention while several ogres just growled.

Ainz on my side, shook his head. "Rimuru is too kind sometimes."

He stepped forwards and raised his staff.

The temperature of the area fell and a huge wall of ice rose up all around the village. Several hundred orcs were frozen into statues instantly.

All the fighting in the area stopped. Ainz lowered his staff and teleported on a platform on the wall.

Rimuru came down from the sky and landed on the wall beside Ainz while I flew there too.

"This is how you get their attention. Now go and speak."

….

….

I couldn't say anything because he wasn't wrong either.

He did get their attention.

Both sides had stopped completely.

"Now then, as I was saying. I am here to negotiate and stop this war if possible." Rimuru proposed. The result…

"Geld, new food has arrived. Go on, eat him. Hurry hahahaha." The one with a bird-like mask shouted at the largest orc in the group.

Rimuru turned his attention towards the Ogres. "It seems they don't have any intention of stopping. Do you require my assistance?"

They sent a red haired ogre to the front and he was accompanied by a white haired old guy and a blue haired ogre. Behind him was a pink haired ogre girl, accompanied by a purple haired female.

"I am the prince of the Ogres. My father just passed away in the war so I am the leader of the group." He shouted loudly although I could sense that he was even disgusted at the idea of being the leader due to his father's death. The pain and anger in his voice. "What do you want in return for your assistance?"

"An Alliance. My village is small and needs as many allies as we can. I want to invite you all to come and stay in the village. I promise all of you a good place to live, food and names along with protection." Rimuru offered the ogre.

The entire crowd went haywire when the name part came out. There was disbelief and awe thrown around.

The red haired ogre swallowed lightly before looking at Rimuru "If you can provide us with these, we will swear allegiance to you. I give you my word as the new leader of the ogre village."

"Oi, is it just me or they don't believe that Rimuru can name them?" I whispered to Ainz.

"I get the same feeling. Is this naming stuff supposed to be hard? I thought you only needed to be stronger than them and none of them look like they are stronger than Rimuru." Ainz whispered back.

"I mean, there must be some type of catch, right? I don't see how such a thing would be easy." I mean, that would be fucking broken, right?

"Umu. I think so too. We need to talk to Rimuru about this. He probably doesn't realise it." Ainz agreed.

The crowd had agreed to support Rimuru and he passed on the Restoration Potion to the ogres while the Orcs were attacking the wall continuously to break through.

"So, what's the plan?" Ainz asked, looking at Rimuru.

"According to Great Sage the clown is the strongest among everyone in this place, including us, followed by that orc and the bird face. The other two are weaker than me, but stronger than Silas."

"Hmm. I can take care of the clown and summon some elementals to fight off the bird face. You take care of the orc and assist the elementals. I will just need some time to prepare my spell."

"I can distract him for a few minutes. The guy cannot fly. I can snipe him and use my Skills to keep him distracted for a while. Not for long though so back me up."

"I will summon some undead to help you out. Worst case, I'll use my trump card."

"Sounds good. Ranga, protect Silas. I can use my trump card too if things get too ugly."

"Hai, my Lord." The wolf barked and got inside my shadow before I took off to the skies.

- Rimuru -

He shot forward, using Water Blades to cut a path in front of him. The orcs were beheaded while the water swirled in the air forming many rain type droplets and freezing mid air, while the bodies of the orcs lit up with a purple-black magic circle and large Death Knights rose from them.

"Great Sage, connect to Silas' Sage and guide the attacks to hit the vitals of the orcs. Target their eyes."

They had tried this move several times during the past two weeks when all three of them tried to create an ultra combo to fight a raid boss level enemy if they ever met anyone. It led to the discovery that Great Sage being a Skill evolved from Sage could connect to it with Silas' permission and use the extra computational ability to guide the magic attacks of Silas.

The guy was a lovable cutie but that was only till he fought. It showed him why he was a Devil. Using Water Magic in ways that would ensure the most painful deaths to their enemies and yet used the least amount of magicules.

For example, he manipulated the water in a large bear monster's eyes and created an ice needle which pierced its brain, downing the massive beast in a moment.

He further reduced the use of his Magicules if the water and ice were provided by others or there was a source nearby, which is why, when fighting together, Ainz always surrounded him by Ice and Water elementals and he used Water Blade.

And now, with a field surrounded by ice, he was on his home turf. That's why when he said he would distract the strongest monster in the group, none of them even flinched, despite the huge disparity in both their powers.

The biggest orc roared and jumped to slash with his cleaver towards Rimuru. The birdface tried to attack but was distracted by the elementals. He parried the attack of the orc and used fire of Ifrit to burn through his cleaver and slashed towards the orc's face.

The orc resisted with reddish black tentacles of energy and countered him. They clashed with each other with injuries slowly piling on the orc.

It seemed injured already due to the previous fight with the ogres and was thrown backwards with a strong blast. Without giving it any chance to get up, Rimuru created a magic circle and blasted the area with a flame pillar. Immediately afterwards, the entire area was rained down upon by metre long icicles. Yeah, that should keep it down.

He turned towards the birdface who had defeated two elementals.

The birdface was shooting red spheres of energy like bullets all over the area to overwhelm the enemy but Rimuru could tell that it was not specialised in fighting.

The attacks were nothing to him because he could just Devour the energy directly with his slime physique.

He punched the birdface's stomach and it shot towards the same place as the Orc. What followed was a rain of several spells from Rimuru, the ogres and the elementals.

Silas had changed to target the clown.

- Silas -

Connecting to Great Sage was like having a super advanced AI in my head. I wonder if Tony Stark felt like them when he was using the Iron Man suit.

"Did you analyse the Skill of the Clown?"

'The Clown is using a Unique Skill called Amplifier. It amplifies the already strong physique of the monster, allowing it to do attacks beyond his level. By an estimate, it is as strong as a Demon Lord Seed level monster and can fight a Demon Lord Seed on equal ground with the Unique Skill.'

Demon Lord Seed…

Son of a…

Still, I don't need to kill it, only delay it for a while.

I controlled the water in the area and pelted it with water droplets. My normal icicle to the eye was not working because of its magicules protecting him. The attack was useless as it just bounced off his body but also told me that there were no weak spots to take advantage of.

The clown looked at me in anger and grunted before jumping into the air and rolling into a ball.

It even neglected the ogres it had been fighting to try and bash at the ice wall on which I was standing.

The way it attacked reminded me of the Akimichi Clan from Naruto and the Rollout attack from Pokemon which got stronger the more they rolled.

It was bashing straight through the Death Knights which Ainz had created to fight the orcs as if they were straw targets without any kind of resistance.

Thankfully, I knew the way to handle it.

The clown looked like he was short tempered and harassing it with attacks which didn't cause any damage but made it angry and gave up any of his enemies to solely concentrate on me.

It started attacking blindly, trying to topple the ice wall to get to me.

I manipulated the ice to make trenches around the area in the path of the rolling clown. And created a lot of inclined planes of ice on its path. It got caught on one such inclined plane and was thrown up in the air, in a direction away from me.

This slowed its momentum by a lot and gave me an opportunity to blast him with ice on all his joints. Great Sage can do a very great job of guiding attacks.

I concentrated mainly on his joints to cause any injury to slow it down.

It fell down and punched the ground in frustration.

"How long, Ainz?"

"Five minutes more."

Five minutes.

Okay.

"Ogres." I shouted. "Attack the clown with fire when I command."

The red haired leader of ogres agreed and stood beside me, waiting for my order.

I took control of the ice on the ground and the wall and pushed my Demonic Power into. It, freezing the limbs of the clown. "Now!"

The entire area was drowned by a shower of flames, with the guy beside me taking the lead.

A massive pillar of flames rose to the sky.

"Is it over?" The red haired leader asked me.

His answer however came from an entirely different place.

A roar resounded in the area as the flame pillar was dispersed.

The clown was releasing a massive amount of magicules but the injuries on its body were visible. It was hurt.

But my attack wasn't over yet.

Its eyes shone a red light and rolled into a ball once more, rolling towards me, radiating insane amounts of magicules.

The monster however stopped before it reached the ice wall, and fell to its knees, looking at me in shock.

The very next moment, its body was riddled with holes from inside. Each part with a soft tissue and no muscles was shredded apart from inside and it fell to the ground.

The guy was still healing but the extent of injuries I had caused him would keep it down for a while.

Now, how did that work?

I first analysed its healing and defence and found out that it was using its magicules as a layer on its body to stop the attacks. This is what caused my own Demonic Power to be unable to freeze the liquid in its eyes.

I did notice that its magicules focused on healing and the defence broke for a very short while when it was injured.

Thus I created a moment where it could be showered with a ton of magic attacks by everyone around us. This in turn created a moment where its magicules were truly focused on healing and attack and gave up all its defence. And that's what I needed.

When the ogres attacked the place, they also evaporated all the ice which was stopping it as well as the ice around the area. I controlled the water vapour and guided it inside its body. This vapour was infused with my Demonic Power and the moment he became a rolling ball, I froze everything, shredding it from inside out.

The dodged areas were taken care of by my Chef Skill. I kept this Skill on hold all this time to prevent the guy from doing anything too desperate or just running away. It needed to be used on the killer move and it did. If it survived from a scrambled brain, I didn't know what it would need to keep it down.

"Good job. My spell is complete." Ainz's voice sounded behind me. Several Magic Circles lit up all around us at the moment. "The Goal of All Life is Death."

"Grasp Heart."

The golden clock-like magic circle that had formed behind Ainz reached twelve. A phantom hand appeared behind the clown, crushing its heart and its lifeless body fell down to the ground.

"Is it dead?" I asked.

A ball of bluish white light came forward towards me.

I almost instinctively knew what it was. As if there was an innate part of me which knew.

A soul.

Almost in a daze, I extended my hand and gulped down the soul.

And then I fainted.

- Ainz -

"Silas!" He quickly reached beside him and caught him before he could fall.

The Goal of All Life is Death is a spell which had a one hundred hour cooldown time and bypassed all the immunities and defences against instant death spells but… it had a large preparation time and it rendered him defenceless for the twelve seconds till the casting was complete.

He knew that the monster was stronger than him in raw stats, a boss level monster. It was easily stronger than many floor guardians combined and thus he didn't even hesitate before using his trump card. He even used everything he could to buff his base stats and reduce its stats.

Still, the way Silas handled the fight was really masterful.

In the past two weeks, he had seen the progress made was incredible. Maybe it was his inborn instinct as a Devil.

As much as he tried to brush it off, it was a fact that he was a natural born devil and did inherit the powers of one.

His personality might not be like one, and in fact, Ainz might not have been surprised if he were actually an Angel but he wasn't and it showed when he got lost in fighting.

Each one of his attacks hit where it hurts.

When he had asked him how he knew about where to hit, he had replied that as a Chef, he must know his ingredients.

That Chef Skill was cheating.

The only problem was that he often got lost in fighting. Just like now and didn't realise that he didn't have much mana left.

The enemies fighting Rimuru had risen up. The orc had lost an arm but now it looked like it was eating birdface and regenerating.

He checked his mana and it would take a while to recover. Not to mention the cooldown on his spells.

"Rimuru, do you need help?"

"No." A very fast answer. "This fight, don't interfere."

The answer was brief but this was probably the first time Ainz had sensed this level of seriousness from Rimuru.

The orc walked ahead and ate the remains of the clown but Rimuru didn't interfere and just kept on watching. Even when the orc changed and looked like it was evolving, he didn't interfere.

Well… if he was so serious about this, let him be. He will smash that orc with one of his one time usable items if push came to shove.

He checked on Silas and found that his Magic Power was rising at a very fast pace. Was it because of the white light he ate? A soul perhaps?

Devils were known to eat souls but he had never seen Silas do something like this all this while so he was unsure if the Devils from his world did the same but now it looked like they did.

It was quite similar to what that orc had done on the other side and looking at it, it seemed as if it was done evolving, so maybe Silas was also in the process of evolving.

So he did the only thing he could and sat beside him to protect him while he completed his transformation.

- Rimuru -

"I take all your sins, Geld. Rest in Peace."

His mood right now was quite difficult to describe. The memories of the Orc Lord… no, it was the Orc Disaster now, was heavy for someone like him who had lived a normal life till now. How could he bear to hate someone like him?… He could only hate the circumstances and the ones who took advantage of innocent people in bad circumstances.

"What is Silas' condition, Great Sage?"

'The individual, Silas, is undergoing an evolution. His original power was just a step below a Greater Demon but the soul he consumed was of a Demon Lord Seed level being. This has caused him to gain more energy than his body can handle even with a single evolution. Moreover, the evolution to an Archdaemon is not possible with the energy since the Individual Silas is not a Spiritual Being.'

He observed Silas' power as it continued increasing until a black cocoon of magicules formed around him.

"What is happening, Great Sage?"

'The individual Silas' body has reached its limit. The energy is trying to change it.'

"Assist it in any way possible and see that Silas isn't in any danger."

'Establishing connection to the Sage.'

'Connection Established.'

'Guiding excessive energy to find an alternate evolution route.'

'Alternate Evolutionary Route found. Initiating Evolution to Daemon Chevalier.'

Unique Skill Gained: Amplifier

Evolution to Daemon Chevalier completed.

'Individual Silas has gained a Demon Lord Seed.'

'Excess energy found in the body.'

'A second incomplete Demon Lord Seed found in the body of the individual.'

'Attempting to evolve the incomplete Demon Lord Seed.'

'Energy Insufficient.'

'Sacrificing Unique Skill: Amplifier.'

'Guiding the excess energy to evolve the incomplete Demon Lord Seed.'

'... Evolution Successful'

Unique Skill: Chef has evolved into the Unique Skill: Masterchef.

'Evolution Completed.'

The black cocoon burst and what was revealed was the body of Silas who seemed to have grown a few inches and now looked to be in his twenties.

"Was the process successful? Is he alright?" Ainz asked.

"What happened, Great Sage?"

'Great Sage found an alternate evolution route to a Daemon Chevalier. When a powerful Greater Daemon gains a material body, they can evolve into a Daemon Chavalier who is much stronger than normal Greater Daemons. They can kill a Greater Daemon with a single attack. Great Sage then noticed an incomplete Demon Lord Seed inside the Individual Silas and guided the excessive energy to evolve it into a complete Demon Lord Seed. The individual Silas now holds two Demon Lord Seeds in his body which is only possible because of a Daemon Chevalier's body and the unique race of the Individual Silas.'

"What is a Demon Lord Seed?" Sounded something like a super mini boss level thing.

'A Demon Lord Seed is gifted to monsters upon completing the requirements and becoming eligible to evolve into a Demon Lord. These beings have the potential to evolve into True Demon Lords. Host also gained a Demon Lord Seed from consuming Orc Disaster Geld'

"I did?" He asked, shocked.

'Yes, host.'

The orcs had stopped fighting and with his order, even the ogres had stopped fighting.

He looked at Ainz and he nodded as if understanding what to do already. He brought out a robe from one of his rings and covered Silas while Rimuru left towards the orcs and ogres.

Since he promised to take all of Geld's sins, he will not break his word and take care of his people as his own.

- Silas -

I opened my eyes to the same scene as the last time but this time, there was a pink haired girl with horns on her head in the room while the same goblin as last time ran quickly when he saw me waking up… Am I that scary?

"Silas-sama, you have awakened." The girl whom I didn't know asked me and I could only nod my head lightly.

Less than a month in this place and twice I have fainted and ended up in this situation.

Man, becoming strong is hard.

Why do I even need to train to run a restaurant in peace?

Oh, yeah… I live in a world where children can be born with NotPokemon which can destroy countries because God… thought it was a good idea… somehow.

And also the fact that God, well exists and I am a Devil. *Sigh*

While having a deja vu, I got up from my bed but this time, I was naked. I grabbed the bedsheet and tugged it towards me in order to wrap it around me only resulting in a surprised cry as I dragged the girl on me accidentally while trying to pull the bedsheets.

The girl fell on my chest and I felt two soft lumps on my body, causing heat to rush to a certain part of my body.

I did notice that I had grown… in more than one way. And I was sure that the girl felt my growth too due to our close vicinity.

The girl's blush made it look like she would bleed from her face.

"I'm sorry. I was trying to get the bedsheets." I apologised and released her, trying to untangle the bedsheets.

"I-it's o-oka-y." Her blush was even redder somehow.

"Silas! You are awake?" Rimuru bounced into the room only to freeze at the door. "Oops, should have knocked. Carry on." He jumped back.

I got a headache.

"Oi come back. It's not what you think."

That bastard was waiting outside the door. "Silas….while you might have certain *cough* exhibitionist *cough* tendencies, I am not a voyeur and I don't think little Shuna is one too. You should consider her feelings."

"Fuck you, whose an exhibitionist?" I hurried to tear the bed sheets to get out of this mess but somehow, things were not going my way as I ended up tearing the girl's kimono as well.

"Sorry!" I bowed but little Silas in attention didn't help so I quickly turned around and grabbed the blanket and wrapped it around her quickly and then tied the torn up bed sheets around my waist like a towel.

With that said, I rushed out of the room where Rimuru was waiting for me and I didn't need to look at his human face because I could just sense his smugness dripping from his slime face.

"Who would have thought that the shy and cute ones were your type. Still, you play fast." The blob of slime wiggled annoyingly and I reflexively kicked him directly into a nearby tree, causing several of the trees to collapse in a row.

"Fuck! Rimuru." I rushed to see if he was alright.

"Ah, I am fine. I have physical damage resistance." He just bounced back as if nothing happened just now.

….

"Can I kick you once more?" My lips twitched.

"No."

I sighed.

"So, having trouble controlling your power?" He asked and I took a moment to check my condition. My Demonic Power alone was far beyond what I had before.

"Is this going to be a regular thing? How did this happen anyway?"

"You ate the wrong food."

"What." I deadpanned.

"What you ate at the end of the fight was the soul of the clown who we later found was a Deathman, an undead. This particular Deathman was someone made from the amalgamation of countless corpses and was very strong. In fact, it was too strong for you to digest so your body had to change in order to get the energy settled. So, what you had was basically a case of severe indigestion." He explained quite excitedly.

"This is too troublesome." I sighed and lay down. "How long was I out this time?"

"A week but hey, now you are stronger than me and Ainz in terms of base stats."

"I am?"

"Surprisingly, yes. I can still kick your butt though."

"Then I will reopen my shop. I think this level of strength should keep me safe for a while. I will continue my training in my off hours. I don't think my customers would like it if I closed much longer."

"They wouldn't mind but sure. I think you should try getting used to your strength and rest for a while." He agreed with me.

"Where is Ainz? I haven't seen him."

"Oh, I named him because I got enough power after the fight. It caused him to bind with this world's system and break his game's level cap. He's out hunting."

"He broke his level cap? Isn't that hacking?"

"We are jumping worlds. If that's hacking then you and your shop are the hack."

"... point."

"You should have seen his happiness. It looked like he had jumped directly out of a horror movie. Even the little goblins were scared."

… yeah, I can imagine that.

"Also, who was that girl? New one?"

"Oh, she was the pink haired ogre in the village which we saved. She is the princess of the ogres. They evolved when I named them."

"So all those ogres… they turned into…?"

"Kijin."

"That. Yes."

"Not all. Only a dozen. Naming even half a dozen of them almost drained me and caused me to sleep for a day. I also have to name the hundred and eighty thousand orcs who joined me. Great Sage made a ritual to name them without using my own magicules but it will still take me around a month or so to name all of them."

"How many orcs?" I asked, incredulously.

"Oh, the ones we fought were just a small battalion of soldiers led by their leader. The real camp was in the swamps, led by his friend. They were under the influence of the Orc Disaster's Unique Skill: Starved and were out of control. I promised them food and safety and they joined me."

"Food for that many will be a problem."

"Not really. I am planning to make a deal with Zeref for the restoration potions in exchange for the food. They can supply us enough food for a million, let alone one hundred and eighty thousand. With the new workforce, we will be able to produce our own food in a year, enough to feed everyone."

"That's… a surprisingly great plan."

We talked around for a while about various topics.

"Rimuru."

"Hmm."

"Thanks."

"Don't mind. We are friends."

"Hmm."

"Are you sure that you want to join me, Shuna?" I asked the girl again who looked determined to follow me. The young princess of the Oni nodded resolutely at my question.

"Your place is just behind the door. It's not like she is going anywhere too far after all." Rimuru offered.

In the past week, when I was asleep, she was the one who was taking care of me.

She wanted to repay me for saving her village.

In fact, even Ainz was offered the services of the ogres but Nazarick is not a good place for them. At least, not currently. Ainz was looking for undead from this world to take under his wings.

The current leader of the ogres, Benimaru was actually supportive of Shuna's decision because it would keep her in a relatively safe place which was just a few steps away from him.

I could understand his reasoning.

I did need some people for my restaurant.

Ainz would offer the maids he said but there was a problem with it and that was actually funny if nothing else.

What he was actually worried about was that if any of the Nazarick people worked in my restaurant, he would have to keep up his chunni act all the time and my restaurant was the only place where he could be who he actually was.

I agreed. He did say that if I opened any businesses outside my restaurant, he would lend me anyone I needed.

"Alright then, go in. I will get a room ready for you just in case." I still don't know how to allow others to use the shop door without me being present all the time.

It might be something I unlock when the restaurant levels up.

I opened the door and let her in while stopping on hearing Rimuru's voice.

"Oh and by the way don't get too hard on her." The ero-slime wriggled his eyebrows making mine twitch as well.

This bastard also told Ainz about the incident and I had never thought that I would see a lewd look on a skeleton face. It was disturbing in many different ways. They would just give me smug looks about Shuna and say nothing which was even worse.

"You guys are not going to stop this, are you?" I asked, resigned.

"Not until it stops being funny. I mean, you lucky bastard had an anime type ecchi encounter. We'll be damned as friends if we drop this without squeezing every drop of fun from this."

….

….

"Well, at least I can get hard." I quipped.

The slime froze.

"Bastard! You wanna fight huh…."

I closed the door after me, ignoring the engaged shouts of the slime behind me.

- Lavinia Reni -

She got up as the bed sheets slipped from her body, revealing another person in her bed. The green haired girl who was in an equal state of undress as her was breathing peacefully beside her.

Almost a month had passed since she came here, following Grandpa August. The life in Alvarez had been treating her much better than she had expected.

She was just looking for a place to stay for a while to forget about what had happened that day.

When Grandpa August had offered to take her in as a student, she was reminded of the previous time but Silas had supported her and encouraged her to try.

"If we stop trusting people just because of meeting one bad person, wouldn't that be ruining our own lives? Why are you letting the person's shadow ruin your life when that person doesn't even care about you. Live your own life."

She had taken her first to a different world just because of those words and that choice didn't let her down.

According to Grandpa August, he owed a lot to Silas, the restaurant owner and the boy called Touma. He never said why exactly but it must be because of Emperor Zeref's curse being removed.

In this place, she met another one of his students, Brandish μ.

She was a young girl whom August had taken in a year or so ago after the death of her mother.

She was kinda lazy but they got along surprisingly well despite her outward show of reluctance. She was such a tsundere, just like Va-kun.

In fact, both of them were quite similar and had latched onto her.

She let out a sigh.

She had been in Alvarez for around a month because Silas had been out for some training. August had offered her instructions and she had learned to control both her Sacred Gears much better now.

What irony, the woman whom she had hated the most for the past years, not only revealed the truth to her but also inadvertently gave her a gift which more than half the world would kill for.

Still, she heard that Silas had reopened the shop and she was quite worried about Va-kun so she will go back to check on him.

And maybe find a way to thank Silas for giving her this opportunity.

Author's Note:

This chapter didn't deal with the restaurant shenanigans but I needed to make Silas a bit stronger.

The restaurant shenanigans will resume from the next chapter and we will explore the many butterflies from the incidents.

For example, now Rimuru got several hundred ogres instead of just six. Not to mention the extra thirty thousand orcs.

That said, Footman is now dead.

On the other hand, Azazel knows something is up but not what exactly while the entire world is thinking that a Lucifer came out after centuries and is shitting bricks.

Ainz has broken through his limits.

How much will this change the plot? What is going to happen in all the other worlds like Fairy Tail and Overlord.

Next chapter will be the real start of the plot.

Enjoy the new chapter.

Good Day, Peace Out.
