The Synod researcher is given a physical relic of the Dragonborn's existence, in the form of a weapon with unusual powers, and learns something of its history from a necromancer at the College of Winterhold. (Forms the first half of a continuous narrative, "The Brotherhood's Tale" being the second half.)

Keolah, the high elf mage, apparently took a wrong turn in Cyrodiil and wandered into Skyrim somehow. She doesn't think she did anything deserving of execution. Maybe she accidentally ate somebody's sweetroll?

Follows a once young smith, Haaki Soraldsen, who joins the Companions and quickly makes a name for himself. During his time he will battle with the Companions' worst enemy, come in to the service of the Dragonborn and fight with his new self once he joins the inner circle of the Companions. This is my first fanfic, so (constructive) criticism is welcomed!

Tabitha and Katarina get to learn exactly how difficult life can be when you're a part of the Stormcloaks and the warriors you've been fighting side by side with for years get wiped out by dragons. Sure they could go be heroes but some times it's the sidequests that make the whole story worth while. Will probably be rated M in later chapters.

While it starts off as a peaceful day, Bandits soon swoop in and ransack the property, kidnapping Aela and Dengen, and leaving Gregor bound in the cellar. Markus returns to an empty home, and desperately searches for his family. Summary is terrible, story is better. R&R.
