A Bolt's New Day 3 (Post-RWBY, OC-MC)

BeBe was in heaven. Sorta.

First, she wouldn't say she was all that happy she had to cover up her faunus ears, but Vincent was clear that 'this world did not have Faunus' and that she would stand out which would create them a lot of issues. It was baffling to be told she was the only one of her kind in this 'world', but she accepted that it was a small sacrifice for...

ENGINES!

One thing that BeBe loved about Mama Yang's Bumblebee was the purring it made when its engine was geared just right. There was just something soothing about it and the sight of so many engines in display in this 'Walmart' store made her utterly gushy inside.

It was unfair that a good chunk of the time was spent fishing new clothes, a habit that BeBe was utterly clumsy and unprepared about which in turn gave Snow a big excuse to turn this in a big 'dress up game'. The cat-girl wasn't outright dying because of this, but it sure felt weird to do so without expecting either of their mothers to come along to either tease or scold them for wasting time.

Then again, Vincent was the 'responsible adult' and he sure did a mix of both between calling out on BeBe's own displeasure and chiding Snow on taking too long on a short trip. Within half an hour, BeBe had enough clothes to be fine for months, while Snow looked disappointed she couldn't get some more.

But with that 'nightmare' now behind them, it was time for them to explore the store and see what it was all about. The Engine spot was just a treat as the faunus was quick to fetch one of the workers and inquire about the various models.

She didn't have a reason to buy any of those since she had neither the right nor the money to pay for a proper vehicle, but the worker was nice enough to give her a brief explanation of the various models around. He even gave her a bike magazine that BeBe was sure Mama Yang was going to love and... that brought up another interesting issue: if she was to get something for Mama Yang, then it was fair to find out something for Mama Blake.

Snow was mostly tame through the rest of the walk, so BeBe was in charge of things while Vincent also took care of any missing grocery that they could be needing.

Speaking of groceries, in a rather unusual discovery, they didn't need to pick up any alternative to milk as there were some back home already. BeBe came to realize that Vincent was also lactose intollerant like she was - which was ironic considering she was a cat faunus but rather perplexing since she was told that neither of her mothers were that.

Still, the main goal remained the same: find something that could be nice to bring as a gift to Mama Blake.

Sadly, none there at Walmart felt fitting, but Vincent decided to bring them to a place that 'Blake would have found interesting'. And this place, a shop that sold anime/manga-only stuff, was indeed the little heaven she had sought out.

Various aisles were filled with small models, Light Novels, Mangas, DVDs and other items tied to various shows and series. Albeit not every single one of those was fitting with Mama Blake's tastes, there were some things that really stood out to her.

Lots of pricey things at that, but ultimately BeBe stuck to three volumes of a series titled Demon Slayer. She was told it had a lot of samurai and demon plots, and a quick glance into the content of the first volume was interesting to her so... it should be the same for Mama Blake.

After that, they were off to get back to Vincent's home. And there the 'pain' resumed as Snow took charge in arranging their room and even prepare her the clothes for tomorrow. BeBe was dragged along, helping with the many bags, but ultimately being spared as Vincent helped them both a bit once the underwear section was properly concluded.

Twenty minutes of agony went by, and then... the pain was over. Soon to be replaced by the idea of training outdoors. Snow was already listing out their Semblances to Vincent, while BeBe was aiming to just show and not tell.

Old boxes were used for target practice, and BeBe was able to go first.

She was soon proved that her skills were just as honed as they should be by using her limited Shadow control mixed with her physical boost, her hair's ends burning gold while her eyes glowed brightly while she struck her targets. Her control was still as unbalanced as usual, but the she was improving.

The boxing skills Mama Yang taught her were deeply ingrained in her mind even though she didn't learn enough to call herself a professional just yet.

Still, I can pack a mean punch alright!

"Good job. Always keep control of these emotions and you will be a formidable fighter," Vincent assured, his words making her super-giddy and very pleased with the good work.

But where BeBe found her session refreshing, she couldn't help but feel on the edge when it was Snow's turn.

Out of the two, Snow was the one that was troubled by a rather limited use of the Schnee Family's Glyphs.

She could use the summoning to some extent, but she struggled on using other elements of the Semblance. BeBe may have asked her mothers about it, but both had always been unsure or actually reluctant to tell her the truth.

This time, Snow actually failed to summon her White Golem - or 'Knight' as she liked to call it. The mighty and tall statue-like armored figure that would be effective in many occasions was unwilling to come out.

Snow tried and tried, frustration piling up and then, she paused as Vincent by her side. Hand on her shoulder, he offered a smile.

"Where's the problem?"

"I am... I always struggle with my Semblance. I don't know why but it's difficult to get it stable and... now I can't even summon."

The man nodded and looked away a moment to think about it. "I see. Maybe it is draining on you? You have not recovered fully so-"

"I think I am fine," The girl admitted with a hint of uncertainty. "Maybe."

"If you want I can give you a quick check-up."

Snow perked at this and then nodded. BeBe stared at this with pure curiosity, tilting her head as she saw a few electric jolts pass through Vincent's palm and trickle onto Snow's body from her shoulder. It was brief but... BeBe was sure Snow's face looked a bit healthier than just mere moments ago.

"Try now," Vincent mumbled, sounding slightly surprised by something as Snow nodded and then, as she tried to do the summon, her glyphs worked as intended and she summoned the White Knight as intended.

"It worked!"

It was indeed a good result but... how come Vincent looked so confused?

...Bah, maybe he just remembered something weird or stuff like that.
