Fumikage waited outside school tapping a foot, listening to Sadi sing a song they heard from the radio that morning.

They were early which had become the usual for the two of them, the two of them liked to meet Bakugou at the gates and let Sadi nuzzle against the blonde for a few minutes, meanwhile Fumikage liked to discuss their homework.

"Bakugou!" Sadi cried and Fumikage raised his head, he watched as Sadi hugged Bakugou around the neck and Bakugou didn't roll his eyes like normal, instead he clenched his hands and tensed up instead.

"Bakugou?" Fumikage said concerned and Sadi immediately released Bakugou instead hovering nearby.

"I-" Bakugou started only to cut himself off and take a deep breath "I'm fine Patchy, just an off day." he grumbled shoving his hands aggressively into his pockets "Just- just give me some space today dumbasses." Bakugou told them.

Fumikage nodded, "Of course Bakugou." Fumikage replied more than willing to respect Bakugou's space.

"If you need some, we made more anger dolls." Sadi offered softly and Bakugou's shoulders slumped.

"I might want 'em later Potty. Just slip 'em in when I'm not paying attention." Bakugou told them before he left for the school building and Fumikage to share a glance with Sadi.

*Do you think he ran into someone from his old school again Fumi?* Sadi asked and he lowered his head.

*I don't know. This feels different from that.* Fumikage answered watching Bakugou leave, feeling an odd pinching sensation in his chest.

The feeling didn't ease up as the day went on, if anything it just got worse as their classes went on.

Meeting with Bakugou during lunch didn't alleviate it either, if anything Bakugou looked somewhat pissed as he ignored the both of them stubbornly despite sitting near them.

Both Fumikage and Sadi found themselves tense as an odd feeling engulfed them, as if they were sitting next to a time bomb that could blow any second.

Fumikage even went as far as to indulge Sadi in considering what they could do to cheer Bakugou up without intruding on his space.

Sadi had already slipped in the dolls in Bakugou's backpack, but it didn't feel like enough with how upset Bakugou seemed.

Returning to class didn't elevate the sinking feeling in Fumikage's stomach, and he felt anxious over being away from Bakugou when the boy was like this.

Bakugou had been very clear about his anger issues and that he could be dangerous if he ever lost control and had a fit. Bakugou said in that situation that they shouldn't try to approach him since he wasn't safe to be near in that state.

Friends or not, Bakugou had told them he had attacked his parents before in that state and he didn't think they'd be very safe with him either.

And while that was a valid concern, and one Fumikage and Sadi both shared, the two were far more worried that it could happen during class when they were separated.

Bakugou told them anything could set him off when he was that wound up, he'd frequently ended up attacking Izuku over minor things on days like that, and Fumikage was somewhat afraid that Bakugou could possibly lose it like he said he could.

Something that Fumikage found himself really afraid of.

He and Sadi had both seen exactly how violent Bakugou could get during a fit from the videos they watched from the site Bakugou showed them, and the idea that Bakugou might lose it then attack people like that really was rearing it ugly head in Fumikage's mind.

Something that could be quite bad for Bakugou and everyone else, the teachers would be able to restrain Bakugou before he could seriously hurt someone, but the incident would have to be listed in his permanent record.

And he didn't think that hero schools would look as kindly on Bakugou's record as his own, the couple of times Sadi had gone "feral" so to speak it was understandable to others that it was more of a circumstantial issue of him being trapped in a dark place.

Which would be much easier to forgive as with a familiar quirk he wasn't in full total control of Sadi and such things only happened in very specific conditions, unlike Bakugou's anger issues that stemmed from his explosive disorder.

Fumikage and Sadi both looked up the disorder to learn some more about their friend's condition and frankly Bakugou was in a very easy position for people to take advantage of it to keep him from applying to any hero schools in the first place.

Even if the staff weren't going to stop Bakugou from applying, the schools themselves would probably be less than willing to admit someone with the disorder and a documented history of violence.

Of course, Bakugou had warned them of this, and hadn't been shy about the problems it could cause them in the future, but it hadn't quite felt as real as Bakugou was making it out to be until that moment.

One wrong move and Bakugou could lose everything he was working for, someone just had to tap their desk with their pen a little too loudly and Bakugou could...

*Fumi the teacher asked you a question.* Sadi told him interrupting his thoughts and Fumikage jumped, sheepishly asking the teacher to repeat the question before answering, he promptly sank further in his seat from embarrassed and guilty over ignoring what was going on around him.

The rest of the classes moved on painfully slow and Fumikage would probably need to ask someone for their notes because he just hadn't been able to pay much attention as his mind couldn't help drifting back to Bakugou and straining his ears to make sure he wouldn't miss the sound of any explosions.

And despite Bakugou's request for space Fumikage and Sadi both wanted to just go and see Bakugou to make sure he was alright, it wouldn't take long just a little glance to reassure their shared nerves but they would still have to wait until their final class was over before they could do that.

And though he wouldn't normally wish ill of his geography teacher he was really running out of patience as she explained how the quirk wars changed up some of the continents land mass from what they were years ago, when he knew Bakugou was also irately waiting out his last class too.

Seriously though, who cares that it was in the first quirk war that Australia was split up into the four islands connected by an inland sea it was now?

Yes, it changed how the weather was affected and that changed the landscape but his friend possibly snapping was more important and he really couldn't care at the moment, and Fumikage paid more attention to watching the clock tick closer and closer to the end of school so the two of them could just go.

Sadi had never liked the bell, something about it being too loud but today they cheered internally along with Fumikage as the bell finally rang and he quickly gathered his things so they might be able to catch Bakugou before he left the grounds.

Fumikage tried to keep from running in the halls but he was still going pretty fast, something he normally avoided with his sight being what it was, however he had really worked himself up into a stupor as he worried over Bakugou.

It was exactly because of that lack of caution that he ran into someone, Fumikage was going to apologize but a hand wrapped around his throat and slammed him against the wall.

Fumikage croaked out a squawk and felt his insides curl up when he saw who he had run into.

It was just his luck to run into one of the upperclassmen that Bakugou had scared off when they first met.

*Fuck.* Fumikage thought gulping as the boy's eyes narrowed.

"If it isn't Bakugou's pet." the boy hissed at him and Fumikage flinched "What? Not so tough without your blonde attack dog humping your leg?" the boy questioned and his feathers raised with his immediate ire.

*Oh that- Let me at him Fumi!* Sadi angrily growled in his head and Fumikage was half considering it after the guy insulted Bakugou by reducing their friend to some violent horn-dog.

Before he could tell Sadi to stand down though something struck the guy, hard .

It had happened so fast it took both him and Sadi a few seconds to realize what had just happened.

The upperclassman pinning him had been hit in the face by a backpack with enough force to be knocked off his feet, a backpack that Fumikage made his heart drop, because he knew exactly who that backpack belonged to.

Reluctantly Fumikage's eyes went to where the backpack would've come from and immediately he shrunk in on himself.

Bakugou stood at the end of the hallway slightly hunched forward towards them, a demented grin barring all of his teeth, and though they weren't focused Bakugou's eyes were full of rage.

A version of Bakugou Fumikage and Sadi were both aware of from the videos but had yet to see in person before this moment, and frankly speaking it was far more terrifying to see in person, he wasn't near the blonde and his hindbrain was freaking out about the malice rolling off his friend.

"You know if you're going to talk shit extra, you should at least have the fucking guts to say it to my face." Bakugou hissed stalking over to the upperclassman with his hands twitching with tiny snaps and cracks as mini-explosions went off in them.

*Fumi- Fumi we need to do something!* Sadi hurriedly told him, and Fumikage knew they were right because he could practically feel the bloodlust rolling off Bakugou, but that bloodlust was keeping Fumikage frozen where he was still pressed against the wall.

Bakugou grabbed the collar of the upperclassman once he was over the guy and yanked him up somewhat. "You know, for some cocky bastard going on about putting the bird brain in his place, you sure look like you're going to piss yourself." Bakugou callously snarled in the boy's face.

*Fumi!* Sadi shrieked at him and Fumikage shook himself, trying to think of what they could do before things got even further out of hand.

Fumikage wasn't nearly physically fit and wouldn't be able to take Bakugou on head-to-head, and Sadi wouldn't be much help either with Bakugou's quirk able to make so much light, if only they could counter Bakugou's quirk they might be able to restraint their friend until he regained control of himself.

*Stop his quirk, got it!* Sadi said and then before he could ask what they were planning to do Sadi leapt out of him, they darted over to a shiny red fire extinguisher and then rushed at Bakugou who was standing over the upperclassman.

"Bakugou!" Sadi cried and when the blonde turned to them Sadi ripped the metal apart causing an explosion of white foam.

*Fumi now! Tackle him!* Sadi told him and despite his trembling Fumikage did as Sadi ordered, wrapping his arms around Bakugou with Sadi following after him squeezing the two of them together and probably the only thing keeping Bakugou from clawing his eyes out.

"Get the fuck off me! I swear when I get out of this I'm going to rip that half-baked bird brain out of you and I'm going to make every second fucking hurt." Which was one of many things that Bakugou venomously hissed at them as he struggled in their hold.

Fumikage tried his best to push Bakugou's words out of his mind and remind himself that this wasn't how Bakugou really felt, and that once he came back around he'd be thankful for them intervening.

Which was how the teachers found them, covered in foam on the floor and with Bakugou finally just coming around, and given the reason they were the two of them were brought to the principal's office and were currently waiting outside for their parents to arrive and their punishment discussed.

Fumikage couldn't help fiddling with his sleeve which was only a slightly better nervous habit to have than straightening out his feathers.

Since the teachers pulled him and Sadi off Bakugou the three of them hadn't spoken a word to each other, and privately it was making him anxious and Sadi was in shambles.

Sadi hardly ever called the shots between the two of them, so they both started to question whether or not they were right to intervene as they had.

Stopping Bakugou from attacking someone wasn't something either of them regretted, but maybe they should've just led Bakugou on a goose-chase to tire him out instead of pinning him.

Fumikage switched eyes and saw Bakugou irately tapped the heel of one of his feet and kept his head hung in a way that kept him from seeing the boy's eyes and accurately reading the boy's face.

Part of him wanted to reach out and comfort Bakugou but on the other hand he remembered the problems that Bakugou had confided in them about, mainly his problems with Izuku forgiving him far too easily.

Would telling Bakugou it wasn't all his fault for losing his mind on the guy harassing him not help Bakugou with whatever self-loathing the boy was soaking in?

Fumikage folded his hands and leaned his face into them with a sigh, why did things like this have to be so complicated?

*Fumi!* Sadi whisper-shouted to him and he saw Bakugou had jumped to his feet and, with more force than was necessary, stomped over to him and sat down, right next to him practically shoulder to shoulder with Fumi.

Fumi was reminded of back when Bakugou first sat down with him and Sadi under the tree for lunch, especially with the rhythmic tap of Bakugou's foot.

And after a few minutes Bakugou headbutted his shoulder making him jump "Thanks for knocking me on my ass." Bakugou grumbled, gritting the words out as loud as he dared.

Fumikage looked down at Bakugou stubbornly keeping his head buried in Fumikage's shoulder, Fumikage was unsure what to say in reply but Sadi on the other hand did.

Sadi popped out of him again and laid down on Bakugou's shoulders and nosed through Bakugou's hair, an action that caused Bakugou's foot to stop.

"Glad to do it Bakugou, and I told you I could kick the old you's butt!" Sadi said with a chuckle.

*Sadi... what the hell?* Fumikage thought staring at his twin but then Bakugou gave a tiny breathless chuckle.

"Yeah, you rejected muppets did... " Bakugou admitted not moving from Sadi's ministrations, relaxing just a touch.

Fumikage's heart sank out of his throat at that and he laid his head on top of Bakugou's next to Sadi's, making Bakugou flinch but he calmed down just as quickly, the three of them stayed like that as they waited for their parents' eventual arrival.
