Lush Jungle Trial (Part Two)
As Mallow leads Ed by the hand, deep into Lush Jungle where he must do the trial there in order to earn the Grassium-Z Crystal, they look at each other, then look away, blushing. Once they reach the area where Ed must obtain a Mago Berry. Mallow then gives Ed the Forage Bag. After telling Ed what he has to find, he goes into the jungle and finds one; after that, Ed went on to find the Honey and finally, a Big Root.
"Well done, Ed." said Mallow. She leads Ed to the pot where Lana and Kiawe were waiting. After putting in the Mago Berry, along with the fresh water provided by Lana. A Fomantis suddenly appears. "Looks like this Fomantis wanted that Mago Berry." Ed runs in front of Fomantis.
"This Mago Berry belongs to Mallow, Fomantis." said Ed as he pulls out a pokeball. "Come out, Grimer!" He tosses Grimer's pokeball and releases him. "Grimer, Acid Spray!" Grimer sprays a purple liquid out of its mouth, and it hits Fomantis, dealing super effective damage and knocking it out. "Good job, Grimer." said Ed. He turns towards Mallow. "Your Mago Berry is safe, Mallow."
"Thanks, Ed." said Mallow. After she stirred the pot, she adds the honey Ed found and begins stirring. A Comfey suddenly appears. "Looks like this Comfey wanted the Honey you found, Ed." Ed faces the Comfey while pulling a pokeball out of his pocket.
"Mallow needs this honey, Comfey, and I won't let you take it from her." said Ed, making Mallow smile. "Go, Grimer!" He tosses Grimer's pokeball and releases him. "Grimer, Poison Fang!" Grimer crawls towards Comfey while his teeth were glowing purple and bites Comfey, dealing super effective damage to it. Comfey floats to Grimer and kisses him, making him confused. "Grimer, Pound!" Grimer fights through his confusion and pounds Comfey, knocking it out. "Your Honey is safe, Mallow."
"Thanks, Ed." said Mallow. She then begins stirring the pot with the Thick Club. After putting in the Big Root, a Sudowoodo appears. "Looks like Sudowoodo wanted that Big Root.
"I will not let this Sudowoodo take your Big Root, Mallow." said Ed as he pulls out a pokeball. "Come out, Dartrix!" He throws Dartrix's pokeball and releases him.
"Nice Dartrix, Ed." said Mallow.
"Thanks. Now, Dartrix, Razor Leaf!" said Ed. Dartrix flaps his wings and releases a pair of green leaves that hit Sudowoodo, hitting it and dealing super effective damage to it, but it remained standing due to its Sturdy ability. Sudowoodo runs at Dartrix and flail's his arms around, hitting Dartrix. "Leafage, Dartrix!" Dartrix spreads his wings and releases multiple glowing green leaves from his body, and they hit Sudowoodo, knocking it out. Ed turns towards Mallow.
"Your Big Root is safe, Mallow." said Ed.
"Thank you, Ed." said Mallow. She begins to stir the pot some more. "And it's finished. Now, all I have to do is add a pinch of my super-secret special spice." He adds some spice into the pot and begins stirring around some more. "Ta-da! The Super Mallow Special! It's done." An aroma wafts around the area. Ed smells it and smiles.
"It smells so good! I'll bet it'll taste so good too; yum!" said Ed, making Mallow smile and blush.
"Wow, Ed; that's the nicest thing anyone has ever said about my Super Mallow Special." said Mallow. As she and Ed look into each other's eyes, Ed hears something approaching. He turns to see the Totem Lurantis approaching them. "That's the Titan Pokmeon, Ed! It's wants my special!" Ed runs to the Totem Lurantis.
"If this Lurantis wants your Super Mallow Special, it'll have to get through me and my Pokemon!" said Ed. He pulls a pokeball out of his pocket. "Come out, Grimer!" He tosses Grimer's pokeball and releases him. "Grimer, we must protect Mallow's yummy food!" Grimer nods and faces the Totem Lurantis. The Totem Lurantis leaps towards Grimer with its arms raised. "Harden!" Grimer glows white and his body shines, raising his defense before Lurantis swung his arms in an X pattern and hits Grimer, but not doing much damage due to his defense being increased.
"Acid Spray!" said Ed. Grimer shoots a large drop of purple liquid at the Totem Luranitis, hitting it, dealing super effective damage. The Totem Luranits raises an arm and it begins to absorb sunlight.
"Quick, Grimer, use Bite!" said Ed. Grimer jumps at the Totem Lurantis and bites it, hurting it and making it flinch, causing the sunlight it absorbed to expel from its body. It suddenly turned purple under the Totem Lurantis' eyes due to Grimer's Poison Touch ability. The Totem Lurantis coughs from its poisoning and loses some energy.
"Poison Fang!" said Ed. Grimer jumps at the Totem Lurantis and bites its abdomen, dealing super effective damage. The Totem Lurantis stumbles back and falls to the ground with swirly eyes. "You did it, Grimer!" Mallow walks to Ed.
"You did an excellent job raising your Pokemon, Ed." said Mallow.
"Thanks." said Ed. Mallow reaches into her pocket and pulls out a Grassium-Z Crystal.
"For defeating the Totem Pokemon of Lush Jungle, I reward you with the Grassium-Z Crystal." said Mallow.
"Thanks, Mallow!" said Ed as he takes the Grassium-Z.
"Here, Ed; now let me show you how to do the pose you need to do the Z-Move for Grassium-Z." said Mallow. Ed watched closely as Mallow does the pose. Soon after, the others walked to Ed.
"That was incredible, Ed." said Edd.
"Good work, monobrow." said Eddy.
"Your Grimer took down that Totem Lurantis good, Ed." said Maxiley. Mallow walks to the group.
"So which of you will be taking on my trial next?" asked Mallow.
"I believe I shall." said Edd.
"Very well. Let's go then." said Mallow. As she led Edd into the jungle, she looks at Ed and waves at him, who smiles and waves at her back.
In the jungle, Mallow tells Edd what he has to do. He first finds the Mago Berry and brings it over to the pot that Mallow has ready and throws it in, and also the water that Lana brought. As Mallow stirs it together, another Fomantis appears.
"Looks like another Fomantis is here." said Mallow.
"I shall handle this." said Edd as he releases his Ariados from her pokeball. "Ariados, please use Infestation!" A swarm of microscopic insects comes out of Ariados and cover the Fomantis and all bite down on it at once, doing super effective damage, and knocking it out. then he finds the Honey, and then finally, the Big Root.
"That was fast." said Mallow.
"Indeed." said Edd. After that, Edd goes on to find the Honey and adds it to the pot. As Mallow stirs that around, another Comfey appear before them.
"I think that Comfey also wants the Honey." said Mallow. Edd takes out a pokeball from his pocket and throws it, releasing his Magnemite.
"Magnemite, please use Magnet Bomb!" said Edd. Magnemite releases some metal bombs from its body which cling to the Comfey, then explode, doing super effective damage, and knocking it out.
"Well done, Double-D." said Mallow. She then stirs what's in the pot with the Big Root, then takes out the Big Root and drops it into the pot, making another Sudowoodo appear. Edd brings out his Magnemite again to deal with it.
"Magnemite, please use Mirror Shot!" said Edd. Magnemite's body shines brightly, then focuses and reflects the sunlight hitting it, towards the Sudowoodo, doing super effective damage. The Sudowoodo responds by launching a kick at Magnemite, doing super effective damage. "Now use Thunder Shock!" Magnemite releases a blast of electricity at Sudowoodo, zapping it hard enough to knock it out.
"Thanks for stopping that Sudowoodo from getting the dish." said Mallow. All of a sudden, Magnemite freezes up and starts to glow.
"My word; it appears that Magnemite is evolving." said Edd. They both watch as Magnemite starts to change. When it finished, it looked like three Magnemites joined together in a triangle formation. Edd takes out the Rotem Pokedex and points it at his newly evolved Magnemite.
"Magneton, the Magnet Pokemon, and the evolved form of Magnemite. When rain clouds form, many Magneton gather in high places to wait for lightning to strike." said the Rotom Pokedex.
"Congratulations, Magneton; and it appears you learned Tri Attack after evolving." said Edd. Mallow then stirs the pot around a bit more, then adds her super-secret special spice to the dish.
"And there we go, another serving of my Super Mallow Special!" said Mallow. Just then, the Totem Lurantis appears. "It's the Totem Pokemon again!"
"I shall handle this." said Edd as he takes out his Trumbeak's pokeball and releases him from it. "Trumbeak, please use Pluck!" Trumbeak flies at the Totem Lurantis and jabs it with his beak, doing super effective damage. The Lurantis responds by hitting Trumbeak with a blast of petals, not doing much. Trumbeak lets out a loud squawk and starts to glow.
"Hey! Your Trumbeak's evolving!" said Mallow. They both watch as Trumbeak starts to change. When he was done, he was bigger, especially his beak, which was red, orange, and yellow striped. Edd takes out the Rotom Pokedex and points it at the newly evolved Trumbeak.
"Toucannon, the Cannon Pokemon, and the final evolved form of Pikipek. Known for forming harmonious couples, this Pokémon is brought to wedding ceremonies as a good luck charm." said the Rotom Pokedex. Edd suddenly imagines Toucannon at a wedding, with himself and Lillie standing at the altar. The thought makes Edd blush and smile goofily.
"Are you okay?" asked Mallow. Edd shakes his head to get him back to reality.
"I'm fine." said Edd. "And it appears that my new Toucannon has learned a move called Beak Blast."
"Now would be a good time to try it out." said Mallow.
"A splendid idea." said Edd. "Toucannon, use Beak Blast!" Toucannon soars up high into the air and starts plummeting towards the Lurantis, his beak heating up as he does. He hits the Totem Lurantis with explosive force, doing enough super effective damage to knock it out.
"That was powerful!" said Mallow.
"Indeed." said Edd. Mallow then pulls a Grassium-Z Crystal out of her pocket.
"For defeating the Totem Pokemon of Lush Jungle, I reward you with the Grassium-Z Crystal." said Mallow.
"Thank you very much." said Edd as he accepts the Z-Crystal. After Mallow shows Edd the poses he had to do to activate it; he and Mallow exit the jungle to where the others were waiting.
"How did you do?" asked Maxiley. Edd shows him and the others his Grassium-Z Crystal. He then tells them about his two new evolutions.
"Good work, sockhead." said Eddy.
"Way to go, Double-D." said Sarah. Eddy steps forward.
"Looks like I'm up next." said Eddy.
"You can do it, Eddy!" said Ed. Eddy and Mallow head into the jungle to begin Eddy's trial. First, Eddy finds a Mago Berry and brings it over to the pot. He throws it in while Mallow adds Lana's water, and begins stirring it in. Another Fomantis suddenly appears.
"Fomantises really must love Mago Berries if they keep drawing them in." said Mallow.
"I got this." said Eddy as he throws his pokeball, releasing his Noibat. "Okay, Noibat; use Wing Attack!" Noibat flies at the Fomatis and strikes it with her wing, knocking it out.
"You and your friends are really strong!" said Mallow. Eddy smirks in response, then goes into the jungle to find Honey. He soon finds some and brings it back to Mallow and pours it into the pot, while Mallow uses the Thick Club to stir it around. As she does, another Comfey appears. Eddy quickly takes out his Torracat's pokeball and releases him from it.
"Okay, Torracat; use Fire Fang!" said Eddy. Torracat's front fangs become coated in fire as he leaps towards the Comfey and bites down on it. The Comfey suddenly had bits of fire all over its body, indicating that it was afflicted with the burn condition. Before the Comfey can respond in any way, it takes more damage from the burn, causing it to pass out.
He watches as another Fomantis comes out with a Rawst Berry and feeds it to the Comfey, curing its burn, and then pulls it back into the jungle.
"That must explain why we've never seen unconscious Pokemon during our journey in Sinnoh and here so far." said Eddy.
"I guess since wild Pokemon don't have access to Pokemon Centers, they treat each other after battles." said Mallow.
"Double-D would want to hear about this." said Eddy. After that, Eddy looks around for a Big Root and finds one quickly enough. He adds it to the pot and Mallow stirs it in. Another Sudowoodo comes out after that. Eddy reacts by releasing his Poliwhirl.
"Okay, Poliwhirl; use Water Gun!" says Eddy. Poliwhirl releases a spray of water from the center of his body, hitting the Sudowoodo, doing super effective damage. The Sudowoodo struggles to stay standing, but was able to launch a bunch of rocks at Poliwhirl. "Oh yeah? Poliwhirl, use Bubble Beam!" Poliwhirl releases a stream of bubbles from his body, hitting the Sudowoodo and knocking it out.
"Good work, Eddy." said Mallow. After she finishes stirring the ingredients together, she adds her super-secret special spice and stirs it around some more. This causes the Totem Lurantis to appear. "It's the Totem Pokemon again, Eddy!"
"So that's the Pokemon I have to defeat to earn my Grassium-Z, huh?" asked Eddy. He lets out his Noibat again who was ready for battle. "Okay, Noibat; use Screech!" Noibat releases a high-pitched soundwave which makes the Totem Lurantis cover the sides of its head, and lowers its defense. It retaliates by striking Noibat with a glowing green pincer, hitting her, but not doing a lot of damage. "Now use Wing Attack!" Noibat strikes the Totem Lurantis with her wing, doing super effective damage and more thanks to its defense being lowered. The Totem Lurantis begins gathering light energy into her pincers.
"You better end this one quickly, Eddy." said Mallow.
"Hurry, Noibat! Use Air Cutter!" said Eddy. Noibat quickly launches a bunch of air blades at the Lurantis, causing the energy it was gathering to disperse, and knocks it out.
"You did it, Eddy!" said Mallow.
"Was there ever any doubt?" asked Eddy with a smirk. Mallow then reaches into her pocket and pulls out another Grassium-Z Crystal.
"For defeating the Totem Pokemon, I present you with this Grassium-Z Crystal." said Mallow as she hands it to Eddy.
"Sweet!" said Eddy. After Mallow shows him the poses he had to do to activate the Z-Crystal, she and Eddy return to where the rest of the group was. Eddy holds out his Grassium-Z Crystal in triumph.
"Congratulations, Eddy." said Edd.
"You did good, Eddy!" said Ed. Mallow smiles and looks over at the pots of the Super Mallow Special that the group made.
"Who's hungry?" asked Mallow. The groups' collective stomachs all growled, answering her question. Mallow brings out some bowls and pours in the food. They all take one bite, and their eyes widen with delight.
"This is delicious!" said Edd.
"Yum!" says Ed.
"This is so tasty." said Jimmy.
"Yeah!" said Sarah. Everyone starts to devour the food at a fast pace while Mallow watches with a smile on her face as she sits closely to Ed. The group has passed their trials, gotten their Grassium-Z Crystals, and a good meal to boot. What awaits the group in Alola as their Island Challenge continues?
