Skye got home from school the next day. She came into the living room and saw Peter sitting on the floor playing with Morgan.

"Peter, hi," Skye said. "Hi, Morgan."

"Hey, Skye," Peter said., he had come home for a few days. He was going into exam time soon, and he would not be able to come home for a while.

Morgan said a quick hi also before going back to playing Snakes and Ladders with Peter.

"How are you doing?" Peter asked.

"I'm okay," Skye said.

Peter nodded.

"When you are done with your game, I do want to talk to you about something," Skye said.

Peter nodded. "Okay."

Skye went off to her room and started to empty her books and things from her bag.

Peter knocked on her door about half an hour later.

"Come in," Skye said.

Peter went in. "What's up?"

"This is going to be a weird request, but can you look someone up on your Instagram? You're the only person I can think of that she wouldn't know to block so I couldn't see them," Skye said.

Peter tilted his head.

"My former foster sister. She has moved out of the apartment I know she lived in, dropped at least one of the jobs she had, and her cell phone has been cut off. She didn't tell me about any of this. And her Instagram seems to be gone also. I think she has just blocked me, and anyone she knows I know. I've asked a few people but she has at least met them all," Skye said.

Peter took out his phone. "What's her name?"

"Kate Wiley," Skye said.

Peter looked up the name. He found one and showed her a picture. "Her?"

Skye took his phone, looked at the picture, and nodded. "This is her," she said as she scrolled through her most recent pictures.

"Sorry, Skye," Peter said.

Skye nodded. She noticed a picture where Kate was wearing a coat with a logo for a local business on it. It was a uniform. She wondered if it was where her internship was. She handed the phone back to Peter. "Thanks, Pete, I appreciate it."

"There are going to be people who are jealous about the changes you have made. I know it's hard, but you don't want those people in your life," Peter said as he took his phone back.

Skye nodded a little.

"You're going to be okay?" Peter asked

"Yeah," Skye said. "I've got a lot of homework."

Peter nodded, "Okay." He said before he left her room, closing the door behind him.

Skye tried to start on her homework, but she couldn't concentrate. So she decided to google the company that was on the logo of the shirt Kate was wearing in the picture. She didn't find much about it. It was a relatively new organization that seemed to do good work in the community, helping those who were the most vulnerable, including foster kids. She was still looking into it when she was called for dinner.

At dinner, Skye brought it up.

"Have any of you heard of the company Civicmax?" Skye asked.

"Yeah, I have," Tony said.

"Stark Industries has been trying to get a meeting with them. We want to help support the good that they do," Pepper said.

"Trying to?" Skye asked.

"They have not returned any calls," Pepper said.

Skye nodded.

"What do you know about them?" Tony asked.

"I just googled them. I think it might be where Kate interns," Skye said.

"How did you figure that out?" Steve asked.

"I was able to see her Instagram from someone else's account. She was wearing a coat with the logo," Skye said.

"Who's account?" Steve asked.

"Why does it matter?" Skye asked.

"Because I asked," Steve said.

"A friend's," Skye said.

"Mine," Peter said.

"Thank you, Pete," Steve said.

Skye sighed.

"I don't know why it's a big deal," Pete said.

Skye shrugged.

"If Kate has chosen to block you and doesn't want you looking at her account, you should probably just leave it alone," Steve said.

"Fine," Skye grumbled.

Dinner was finished, and Skye and Pete cleared up the kitchen.

"You didn't need to tell him," Skye said.

"I think I did," Peter said.

Skye sighed.

"Why does it matter?" Peter asked

"I don't know," Skye said.

Peter nodded. "Around here secrets don't last very long."

Skye chuckled., "I've noticed."

They finished with the kitchen, and Skye went to Tony's office and knocked.

"Yes?" Tony said.

Skye went in. "Maybe I can help Stark Industries get in contact with the heads of the company?"

Tony raised an eyebrow. "Weren't you just told to leave Kate alone?"

"I don't have to go through Kate. I was a foster kid, too," Skye said.

"Okay, well, how would you go about it?" Tony asked.

"I'll go and sit outside the right office until someone talks to me," Skye said.

"You don't think Stark Industries has people who could do that?" Tony asked with a smirk.

"Well, maybe, but they wouldn't be a teenage former foster kid," Skye said.

"I appreciate the offer, but you let the adults handle this," Tony said.

Skye sighed. "Why?"

"Because I have a feeling that, for some reason, they don't want to work with us. And, I don't think it would make Stark Industries look very good if we sent a teenager in there," Tony said.

Skye nodded a little.

"I need you to promise me you won't," Tony said.

Skye tilted her head.

"Promise me, Skyler," Tony said.

"Okay, I promise to stay out of it, even if I think it's not the smart decision," Skye said.

Tony shook his head. "Get out of here and go be a kid."

Skye smiled and left Tony's office.

"Come watch a movie with us," Yelena told her when she saw her.

Skye joined the group of people and watched a movie with them.

Tony texted Steve to come to his office and told him about the conversation he had just had with Skye.

Steve sighed and shook his head. "I want to be angry with her, but I think she meant well."

"I do, too. I told her to stay out of it. I made her promise she would," Tony said.

Steve nodded. "Thank you."

The two finished their talk before dealing with some paperwork.
