Harry Potter's Dark Desires

Chapter 1: Discovery

Harry Potter, at seven years old, was not an ordinary kid, not even by a long shot, considered a nuisance by his relatives and a disgrace by the residents of the lovely street of Privet Drive, Little Whinging, so wherever he went he was met with looks of disgust by the neighbours and his relatives alike, bullied by his cousin and his friends, Harry was mostly silent and kept to himself, was obedient and did whatever his Uncle and Aunt demanded of him since it was the only way he'd get any food. He was punished for every little thing, all of them for things he had never done, half of which were caused by Dudley and blamed on him, or half was where he accidentally used magic trying to protect himself from Dudley, and every single time, as punishment, he was forced into a small, cramped closet located underneath the stairs leading to the first floor, where Vernon would them lock the closet and leave.

And this time, was just like any other, Dudley broke a flower vase which he threw at Harry and that he missed, and so without fail, he screamed for his mother who came rushing to the boys, demanding what happened and not even listening to what Harry had to say, accepted what Dudley said, harshly grabbed Harry from his arm and pulled him downstairs, quickly reaching Harry's closet and throwing him inside, locking the door and leaving.

For hours Harry screamed and cried, shouting himself hoarse, and even tried banging his little fists on the doors hoping they'd let him out, but exhaustion soon overcame him when he realised that they wouldn't. But this time, it all changed. He prayed for help, to anyone who could hear him, to help him out of the closet, placing his hands on the handle, and closing his eyes, he unknowingly channelled magic into the lock unlocking it.

Harry looked at the door he had just unlocked, staring at his hands in awe, unable to comprehend what just happened yet he gratefully accepted and slowly, cautiously crawled out of the closet, tip-toeing towards the kitchen also grateful that it was night and the Dursleys were all asleep. Being rarely fed, just enough to not die or starve, he always wanted to eat what the Dursleys ate, so now given the opportunity he liberally took food, though he carefully chose those the Dursleys wouldn't bat an eye if it went missing. After eating his fill Harry wondered what he could do with so much time on his hands, he knew that the Dursleys slept heavily, not even waking up, not even when a thunderstorm was brewing above them, so he did what any kid would do with that much time and the freedom to do whatever he desired; turn on the TV and binge through any channels that would appear.

Two years passed and Harry gained a love for watching TV when everybody else was asleep, and could you blame him, he never received any birthday presents or was bought anything, and anything he did receive was all hand-me-downs, so Harry had nothing to do not to get bored, and not having an emotional or physical connection with his relatives, he was obsessed with watching TV. So guess what happens when you allow a kid to watch unfiltered TV for two years straight; their brains get skewed, and Harry's was no different, obsessing over the various raunchy, mature and pornographic shows, his hormones constantly evolving and changing his body.

But besides TV, Harry had something else he was obsessed with; Game consoles, specifically those he could keep on hand, and after some investigations only liked a specific type of game; RPGs. Portable game consoles were something Harry took from Dudley, hid somewhere and waited for Dudley to either receive a new one or just forget about it. Now what would happen if one day he was locked in his closet, patiently waiting for night to fall so he could get out, grab some food and watch TV, a floating blue screen appeared in front of him with the sentence 'Do you wish to become the Gamer?' YES/NO

'Huh, what's this, hmmm, a Gamer eh, isn't that what they call the main characters of the RPG games I play? What's the worst that could happen, sure then, my answer is yes.'

'Welcome Gamer, to your personal life turned RPG, here you'll be able to do whatever you want to your heart's content, the only thing stopping you is your stats and your limitations, which all can be solved through a process called grinding for EXP and levelling up. Let me introduce myself, I will be your guide throughout your journey, if you have any questions, ask me and I'll be happy to assist you. If I may recommend, I'd say to try out a short tutorial I have created for you to get the basics mechanics down. If you wish to try the tutorial, think Tutorial.'

'Ookaay then, Tutorial.'

'Excellent, what you have in front of you is the main menu, the main menu can be accessed by simply thinking Menu and the screen will appear in front of you, on this menu you have a great many options that don't necessarily have to be accessed through the menu, some like your Stats and abilities can simply be accessed by thinking, but others like Dungeon, Library and Shop can only be directly accessed through this Menu. First on this list is the Stats screen, here you can easily check what level you are at and how high your stats are, but what those stats are will be covered later. Second is your abilities, and for the sake of simplicity, you will only be given abilities from this universe, what I mean by that will also be covered later. Third is your skills, there are many skills that you will be learning and all those will be listed here. Fourth is your gear, this is where you customize how you look and what kind of bonuses your gear can give you. Fifth is your harem, containing a list of all those you have conquered. Sixth is the dungeons. Seventh is the Library where if you wish to learn about anything, you will have to pay for it using in-game currency, the three types of currencies will also be covered later. Eight is the Shop, where you can purchase anything, be it spells, gear, potions, etc, the currency used will be the in-game currency. Ninth is your inventory where anything you will be shown here. Lastly, is the Exit Menu option, which you need only think to use. Now, are there any questions?'

'Plenty of questions, but first, what are my stats?'

'You will have nine stats; Strength, Speed, Stamina, Dexterity, Vitality, Mana, Intelligence, Wisdom and Charm. To access your stats list think 'Stats'.

'As you can see, there are your stats and the limit of how far they can go. Strength, Speed, Stamina, and Dexterity are self-explanatory. Defence is the amount of damage you can negate, every 1 point of Defence means every 5HP that you don't lose. Vitality directly affects how many hitpoints you possess and every 1 Vitality is directly equal to 100 HP. Next, your Mana directly affects how much Mana you possess. Mana is the energy used to power your spells, and each Mana point is directly equal to 200 MP. Next, your Intelligence and Wisdom, both will positively affect any dealings or agreements that you may want. The higher the stats the higher the chance you can bargain for your price. Lastly, Charm is a stat that measures how powerful you can affect the opposite sex. The higher the Charm Stat the more powerful the effect.'

'That is pretty cool, considering how I usually play these kinds of games and I know what I should focus on so I think I'm going to add ten points to my Charm, five to my Vitality and the remaining ten to my Mana, the rest of my stats are okay, for now anyways, but now, onto my abilities.'

'Of course, Abilities contain the list of your spells and potions that you either earn through Dungeons, are taught or buy from the shop using the in-game currency.'

'You said that there were three types of currencies, explain.'

'First, you have your Muggle Money, or as you call it, British Pounds, which is what you can earn through completing quests or completing dungeons, the second is the currency accepted in the Wizarding world, the currency has three denominations; bronze knuts, silver sickles and golden galleons. The thi-'

'Excuse me just a minute, muggle money, wizarding world, knuts, sickles and galleons, are you making this all up.'

'Ah, forgive me, but I just forgot to give you the most crucial details. First, you Harry James Potter, are a wizard, and what you are thinking is exactly right, all those magic tricks you thought were just someone simply helping you was your doing, you were doing what most Wizards and Witches call, Accidental Magic. You were born to James Potter and Lily Potter nee Evans, two of the greatest and most talented upcoming Wizard and Witch of their time, you are the last surviving member of the House of Potter and you must rebuild it and eliminate the corruption present in the Wizarding world.'

'W-what, you know my parents' names, p-please could you tell me more about them?'

'You can learn about your parents after you finish this tutorial, since as a reward I will be giving you free the entire History of The House of Potter, which includes everything you would ever need to know to gain a political and financial edge.'

'D-do I have to.., can't you just end the tutorial and give me the rewards?'

'No can do, I profusely apologize, but I simply cannot cut this tutorial short.'

Harry furiously thought, 'Fine! Abilities.'

Abilities

Spells:

NONE

Potions:

NONE

'Why do I have none written under both Spells and Potions, I thought you said it was me doing the magic.'

'And while it is true, technically you were not casting a spell, you were doing so accidentally, so until you learn the phrase that activates the spell, it will not be counted as spells you know.'

'I guess, but I don't have to like it. Is there some way that I could gain spells?'

'Yes, as soon as you complete the Tutorial, you will receive EXP, spells, and all three types of in-game currency.'

'Fine. Skills.'

'These...are pretty bad, I guess I'll just have to save up to buy better gear. What's a Harem.'

'A Harem is where you are sexually, romantically and intimately involved with multiple members of the opposite sex. A Harem is something that you must create since it is a crucial process to rebuild the House of Potter.'

'A Harem... sounds fun. Dungeons; I don't have anything good to protect me in the dungeon, the Library and Shop are useless right now since I don't have any money. Inventory.'

Inventory

1: Soul of a Mysterious, Dark Wizard (Consuming the soul will give you a straight 50 Points in all stats.) Item: Legendary

'What's this, consuming soul will give you straight 50 points in all stats. Oh, this is bloody brilliant.' He then tapped on the soul to consume it but was met with a line of text saying he could not.

Legendary Item is unavailable to consume until the Gamer receives his letter from Hogwarts.

'Hogwarts, what's that?'

'Hogwarts is one of the Top Three Prestigious magical schools in Europe, it is here where your parents were trained and nurtured in the various magical arts, and it is here you will begin your journey. The letter is received in the year when the student turns eleven and can either be accepted or rejected and the student can be homeschooled, but in your case with no other guardians to speak of, you will have to join.'

'Oh, come on, my eleventh birthday is four years away, so how am I going to distract myself? Watching TV won't be nearly enough.'

'By grinding. And with this, the tutorial is complete and the rewards are in your inventory.'

'You have five unallocated points from levelling up, or you may the enter Library where there is a free reward waiting, or you may enter the shop where you can outright buy or barter for better gear.'

'So you're my what-to-do guy, well, if it's free then I might as well check it out.'

'The Entire History of The House of Potter.'

"Wait a minute, this could be useful; if my family is as powerful and famous as you say, then surely they are going to have important connections wouldn't they, well I have seen it in games so why wouldn't it be true in real?"

Quest Received

Objectives

1: Find out who your family's allies and beneficiaries are

2: Reopen The House of Potter to resume the previous contracts

3: Create new Retainers or Vassal

Rewards

1: 10000 EXP

2: ?

3: ?

'A quest? That is a lot of EXP, but as much as I'd like to read right now, I still would like to go through the other options, and maybe even first try the dungeon.'

Shop

1: Spells

2: Potions

3: Blacksmith

4: Materials

5: Perks

'Let's see...spells, potions, blacksmith, materials, and perks. The first four I've seen many times in games, but what is a Perk?'

'A Perk is a special attribute that can give you a permanent bonus on anything, for example, it may increase the number of stat points allocated on every level up.'

'Alright, but I'm wasting time. Shop. I'll just quickly get some better gear, all of my current ones are uncommon, so getting uncommon should at least be something I have, and I probably shouldn't have to worry about my weapon, I can get a stick from the trees in the garden outside and carve the tip to be more pointy.'

Standard Glasses (Bonuses: Increases Charm and Def by 1) Item: Uncommon. Dur: 25/25

Standard Shirt (Bonuses: Increases Charm and Def by 1) Item: Uncommon. Dur: 50/50

Standard Pant (Bonuses: Increases Charm and Def by 1) Item: Uncommon. Dur: 50/50

Harry had a reason for choosing gear that affected his Charm stat, besides the fact that all his physical stats were very low compared to his Mana, Intelligence and Charm, so Harry would instead build upon it, boosting those stats and hopefully getting spells or a weapon that would greatly increase his chances. Harry also didn't fancy his chances of getting up close and personal with any dungeon enemies, so he'd remain to the back and kill them from a safe spot.

'Now that I'm kinda geared up, I'm going to need a weapon.' Harry tapped the keyhole and spoke, "Alohomora." Harry also had his stats page out so saw how his Mana reserves took a dip and filled up in a minute. 'Hey, how fast do I regenerate my Mana?'

'Your Mana Regen is affected by the amount of your intelligence. If you have 1 Int point you gain 1 MP per minute, so by having 25 Int points, you regen at a rate of 25MP per minute. The rate of regen can be affected by your gear, potions or even Attributes or Perks.'

'I'm going to have to be very careful with how I use my Mana then, but no matter, until then, it's time to get myself a weapon.' Harry opened the closet door and made his way towards the kitchen entering it and once more using his newest spell to unlock the door leading to the backyard. After spotting a tree that would suit his needs, he gently made his way to the back, slowly tearing down a sturdy but thin branch that fit his grip easily.

Wooden Branch (Bonuses: Increases Str by 1) Item: Common. Dur: 50/50

After inspecting the branch and tearing off all the leaves he marched back into the kitchen locking the door with a spare key he found forgotten in the closet, taking a slight detour to get a little snack, and got back into his closet locking it behind him. He then sat down and opened the shop and with what little in-game currency he had left, bought a small carving knife to sharpen one point of the branch.

After fifteen minutes of meticulously carving the end, Harry was finally satisfied with the result, a sharp pointy end and even smoothing out a small area to better his grip.

Wooden Spear (Bonuses: Increases Str by 4) Item: Uncommon. Dur: 100/100

'Now while I'd like to still try for a Dungeon, I'd most likely die, so I'm giving myself a week's target to best prepare for the lowest level dungeon possible.

It was night once more and Harry was mentally counting his checklist of all the things he could need, 'Hmm, I think I'm set for the Dungeon; I have my wooden spear, two health potions that I got from the shop, and I've placed some stat points into my physical stats, so hopefully, this is enough.' After taking another deep breath, Harry pressed the button to enter the Dungeon, and immediately the world around him swirled into a blurred mess, closing his eyes to dissuade the feelings of nausea, feeling the wind pressing against his skin. Still, when it stopped, he opened his eyes and gasped in awe.

Harry was not in the small closet where he just was, but now in a clearing in the middle of a dark forest, it was eery, there was no sound, no rustling from the trees, no noise of any of the wildlife, and there was dead silence beside his now calming breathing.

'This is the Dungeon Level 1, the lowest level Dungeon available only to you and no one else, to complete the Dungeon, you must kill all the mobs that spawn, with levels that can range from level 1 all the way to level 5. There is no time limit to complete the Dungeon, but once you commit, you cannot leave until you kill all of the mobs, of which there are a hundred. The loot that each mob can drop is different and unique, but the exp that will be dropped will be the same according to their different levels. The end reward is 1000 EXP. Good luck and happy killing.'

'Okay, Harry, calm down, this is just like any other RPG dungeon you've played, the mobs are weak, and the loot will be necessary for me to upgrade as fast as possible so if I back out now, I'm never going to be the strongest wizard ever to live. Let's do this!' After hyping himself up, Harry dashed straight into the forest, his spear in hand, and determination in spades, but when he was face to face with his first enemy, he slightly regretted his bravado.

What he faced was a straight-out-of-hell creature, a hunchback, elongated nose, narrowed unfocused eyes, its body oozing a black liquid that sizzled when it met the ground, its nose twitching and flaring, Harry froze at the sight of it, but with no way out, he prayed to whoever would listen and got ready to charge.

'Oh, he's pretty weak, I physically outclass him in every way, the only scary thing about him is the Black Slime, but his weaknesses, those aren't available to me, I guess I just have to find out the hard way.'

Harry had no choice but to charge in hoping that his narrowed eyes and twitching nose meant that he had poor eyesight and that would be life-saving for Harry who neither had any long-range spells nor weapons. He thrust his spear straight between the eyes of the mob and surprisingly he was able to one-hit kill it, the mob just disappeared leaving behind loot that was automatically dumped into his inventory and a small pop-up of him gaining ten EXP. Harry opened his inventory and saw that besides his two health potions, he also had gained a small vial of poison, which he grinned at, but quickly frowned noting the inconsistency of him killing the Kobold easily.

'I know that it's a low-level dungeon, with low-level mobs, but I just don't believe that I just killed a mob with roughly the same amount of HP as me, and I don't know if I want to question it, it is going to give me free loot and I am going to go up levels pretty fast.'

Harry just shrugged at what was a 'bug' which is what he called it in these sorts of games and moved on killing dozens of these Kobold Grunts all in the range of Level 1 and 4, with Level 1 only giving five EXP and Level 4 giving twenty EXP, and racking up the EXP eventually enough to level himself up twice, but soon enough his luck ran out when he encountered a different type of Kobold, specifically, a Kobold Warrior. A Kobold Warrior was extremely different from the Kobold Grunt, wearing mismatched pieces of armour, and a steel sword in one hand, fortunately for Harry, this Kobold didn't have any slime oozing from his body, instead this Kobold, on his other hand, had a large mace and chain, that it dragged around, swinging it wildly tearing through trees and annihilating boulders as if they weren't even a problem.

'I don't think I can win this fight; same physical stats, weapons more than likely stronger than mine, and my spear is about to break, and the only thing those Kobold Grunts dropped were vials of poison, nothing that I can use other than maybe just throwing the vials of poison and hope for the best...you know what, I'll do exactly that, the vials' description stated that it had a 10HP/Sec DOT and lasted for ten seconds, so I need exactly sixty vials to kill this Kobold Warrior fully since I would need to take into consideration that the Def Stat means that any damage he takes will be reduced by 75. Oh man, if this doesn't work, I am screwed.' Sighing nervously, Harry, while crouching, moved around the Kobold Warrior to be out of his potential line of sight, and after taking out all fifteen poison vials and placing them on the ground, he carefully aimed and rapidly started throwing the poison vials, almost melting with relief when the poison took effect and in just twenty seconds the Kobold Warrior was now a puddle of blood and poison.

"It worked! It worked, yes, okay, so 25 EXP and," Harry opened his inventory, "A dull steel sword. YES! A better weapon to replace my spear, but I now only have fifteen vials of poison left, so I guess I have to fight the Kobold Warriors head-on." Thinking that it'd be helpful, Harry placed two points into Str, three into Spd, two into Dex, and three into Vit. "And now comes the boring, tedious part of going around and killing anything that comes in the way, with my stats and better weapon, I don't think I'd need to fear anything in particular."

Three Hours Later

A bruised and battered Harry listly held his sword in front of him, staring down at the final Kobold Warrior from his one unswollen eye, shifting his bleeding leg behind him, hoping he could end the fight as quickly as possible, with only 100HP left, Harry was genuinely starting to get worried that he was going to die, but his determination to live outweighed the massive pit in his stomach, and with one desperate roar, he charged, agitating the Warrior to do the same, his sword now dragging behind him, counting down the seconds before either his victory or his death. Holding his breath, he sidestepped the Warrior and used his body to fully rotate, giving him as much power behind his swing as possible, and with one clean swing, the Warrior was bisected, its two halves separating with enough momentum to land quite a few feet apart.

Harry faceplanted on the ground ignoring the pop-up of him levelling up to Level 12, or that some of his stats just increased, or that right in front of him was another pop-up that he would be exiting the Dungeon in five minutes, and when the five minutes were up, not even realising that he was back in his closet, back into his normal hand-me-down clothes, fully healed with no sign of any of his past injuries, and with a simple smile on his face.

The Next Day

Harry awoke stretching his arms over his head, not fully realising or remembering the events that occurred in the past few hours and stayed there for a couple of minutes staring at the wooden wall in front of him, dimly recognizing the pop-ups surrounding his head that gave him a brief description of the rewards that he gained from completing the dungeon, not including the rewards he gained from defeating every individual mob.

'I guess it makes sense not to receive that much EXP from completing the Dungeon, but I suppose half of what I will earn from killing the mobs is okay to me, more importantly,' Harry grinned, 'I have enough money to buy the books I need from the Library, and now nothing can stop me from learning the truth. And I guess, I'll go through the crafting materials dropped by the Kobolds, and if I can make some better gear, then I'm all for it.'

Choices: Bluebell Flames Level 1 OR Lumos Level 1 (Note: Until you receive your wand, the only spells available in chests will be wandless capable spells.)

Cost: Initial: 50MP Overtime: 5MP/Sec

'Hmm, Lumos, the same spell as before or Bluebell Flames, I guess I'll take Lumos, you might never know when a source of light would come in handy, so why not.' Harry simply shrugged, "But let's get to the important part." He muttered, 'Shop.' From here, Harry accessed the 'Blacksmith' where he could create his gear and any other equipment, 'Let's see what killing 100 Kobolds gives me.'

Blacksmith

1: Tempered Steel Sword (Bonuses: Increase Strength by 15) Item: Rare. Dur: 500/500

Cost: 20000 Units and 50 Dull Steel Swords

2: Basic Kobold Battle Armour (Bonuses: Increase Def by 15) Item: Rare. Dur: 1000/1000

Cost: 20000 Units and 50 Broken Kobold Armour Sets

Harry's eyes widened when he read the price, '20000 Units, that's crazy, these are just basic gear and equipment! It can't seriously cost 20000 Units, I can't even afford this, I would probably need to go through and complete the Dungeon multiple times to even get both of them.'

'That is exactly the point, if we can force you to go through the Dungeon as many times as we can, it will only benefit you in the future. Your life will not be easy and we must take steps to prepare you for any possibilities.'

'Fine, but I'm not going to attempt the Dungeon any time soon, I'll be taking a break and I'll start reading my Family's History, if my life will be as troubled as you say, then it'd be best to be surrounded by allies.'

AN: So then, how'd you guys feel about this chapter, this has been kind of new to me, but I hope I haven't gone over the top as I had done for the beginning of my previous story. But as always review or PM me for your thoughts.
