The next morning there was a knock on Skye's bedroom door.

She groaned. "Yeah?"

Steve opened the door and stuck his head in. "Sorry to wake you. Bruce wants to see how you are feeling."

"What time is it?" Skye asked groggily.

"Seven am," Steve said.

"Urg! That's so early, and I've been woken up so many times already," Skye said.

Steve let out a soft chuckle. "Let Bruce check you over, and you can go back to bed for a couple of hours."

"Fine," Skye said.

Steve opened the door all the way, and he and Bruce went in.

"How are you feeling?" Bruce asked.

"Tired," Skye said.

"Headache?" Bruce asked.

"Somewhat, better than yesterday," Skye said.

"Nauseated or dizzy?" Bruce asked.

"No," Skye said.

"If you want, you can take something for the headache," Bruce said.

"No, I'm okay," Skye said.

"You sure?" Steve asked.

"Yes," Skye said.

"Okay, well, I think you're good," Bruce said.

"Thank you," Skye said

Bruce nodded and left the room.

"You can go back to sleep for a couple of hours, but there is a team meeting to debrief about everything at eleven. You will be there, and you will need to eat something beforehand," Steve said.

Skye nodded and laid back down., "Okay."

Steve let her go back to sleep and left her room.

Skye woke up again a couple of hours later and looked at the time on her phone. It was nine-thirty, and her entire body was sore. She groaned as she sat up. She reached over, grabbed the water bottle on her nightstand, and drank what was left. She didn't want to move, but she knew she needed to. She stepped out of bed and went to the bathroom and took a look in the mirror. There was bruising that she hadn't seen the night before on her forehead. Her shoulder hurt a bit, so she rotated it and whimpered at the pain. She took a breath and went out to the kitchen.

"Morning," Pepper said. She was the only one in the kitchen.

"Morning," Skye said.

"How are you feeling?" Pepper asked.

"Sore all over," Skye said.

"Sit," Pepper said as she texted Bruce.

Skye sat down, and Bruce came into the room a few minutes later.

"You're in a lot of pain?" Bruce asked.

"Yes," Skye said.

Bruce grabbed a bottle of painkillers out of his pocket and took out two.

Pepper got her a glass of water and brought it over.

Skye took both the pills and the water and took them.

"You should probably eat something, too," Bruce said.

Skye nodded. "I am really hungry."

"I'll make you something," Pepper said. She started to make her breakfast.

"I feel awful," Skye said.

"Something other than the pain?" Bruce asked.

"Dizzy and a little cold," Skye said.

"Yeah, and you seem a little sweaty," Bruce said.

Steve came into the room. "Are those all symptoms of a concussion?"

"They can be," Bruce said.

"They're also symptoms of low blood sugar," Steve said.

Skye let out a breath and nodded a little.

"Have you checked your glucose this morning?" Steve asked.

"No," Skye mumbled.

"Where is your monitor?" Steve asked.

"My nightstand," Skye said.

Steve went and got it. He brought it back to the kitchen and handed it to her.

"I'm really shaky, I…" Skye said.

Steve sat next to her and did it for her.

"Yeah, it's very low," he said.

Bruce handed her a glass of orange juice, which she shakily took and drank.

"You have to be careful with your glucose levels, Skye," Steve said.

"I know, I'm sorry," Skye said.

Steve let out a breath.

"The orange juice and eating breakfast will bring it back up," Bruce said.

"I know," Steve said.

"And the painkillers will help the pain she's in," Bruce said.

Steve looked at Skye. "How bad?"

"An eight, my head and shoulder are the worst," Skye said.

"Shoulder?" Steve asked.

"I woke up, and it was hurting. I tried to rotate it, and that just made it worse," Skye said.

"After you eat, come down to my lab to have it x-rayed," Bruce said.

"Okay," Skye said.

Pepper put a plate of food on the table, and Skye ate.

Bruce went down to his lab. Steve grabbed a cup of coffee and sat with Skye as she ate.

"Did you know it was low?" Steve asked.

"Well, I thought it might be," Skye said. "It's why I was getting food and such."

"Okay, good," Steve said. "Next time you make sure you're upfront about it."

Skye nodded and finished eating.

Steve and she went down to Bruce's lab, where he was set up to x-ray her shoulder.

"When did it start hurting?" Bruce asked.

"When I woke up before I went into the kitchen," Skye said.

"Okay, well, it looks like it was dislocated, but it popped back into place itself," Bruce said.

"Skye, did you pop it back in yourself?" Steve asked.

"No," Skye said. "I promise. I didn't intentionally."

"Okay," Steve said.

Bruce taped up her shoulder "Ice it and don't use it as much as possible."

Skye nodded.

"Almost time for the team debrief," Bruce said.

"Yeah, Skye's first," Steve said.

"Am I getting yelled at?" Skye asked.

"No, debriefs are not about anyone being in trouble," Steve said.

"Just going over everything that happened, checking the video footage seeing where we can do better next time," Bruce said.

Skye nodded.

"You and I will be discussing consequences later though," Steve said.

Skye sighed. "Can't we just get it over with?"

"Nope, not when you are in the condition you are in currently," Steve said.

"How is your pain level now?" Bruce asked.

"Better, a two," Skye said.

"You will need to check your glucose again when you get upstairs, but how do you feel?" Bruce asked.

"Better," Skye said.

"You need to be better about keeping an eye on your blood sugar levels. If you aren't, and your blood sugar drops when you are fighting, it won't end well," Bruce said.

"I will," Skye said.

"If you don't, I will make sure you do not get to fight until I can trust you to take care of it," Bruce said.

Skye looked down and nodded.

"Come on, let's head upstairs for the meeting," Steve said.

The three of them went upstairs. Skye checked her sugar before going to the meeting room and taking the only open seat next to Peter.

"How are you feeling today?" Peter asked her.

"I've been better. I woke up feeling like I had the shit kicked out of me," Skye said.

"Language," Steve said.

"Sorry," Skye said.

"Let's get this debriefing started," Tony said, causing everyone to bring their attention to him and Steve to get the meeting started.
