The meeting started with them going over all the footage of what happened at the warehouse, starting with Skye's. Steve had yet to see anything of what had happened because he had gone to the other possible location. When the footage showed her hitting the floor Bucky noticed Steve tense up, but nothing was said until the footage was finished.

"Does anyone have anything that they think could have been done differently?" Tony asked.

A few things were said, but none of the comments about her fighting style were too serious.

"I know these meetings aren't about singling anyone out, but I don't think we can ignore the major error in judgment," Rhodey said.

"Agreed," Tony said.

Skye let out a breath. She'd known this was coming.

"You went in alone, ahead of when we were all fully prepared to go after them. Because of that, it didn't end the way we had hoped it would. Numerous people ended up dead, including several barely legal teenagers, because we had to come in and save your ass," Tony said.

Skye nodded.

"And the main person we were after. got away. He has resources at his disposal to come back stronger, and we don't know what the new plans will be. We had an idea of his current plans, and now we have nothing to go off of," Rhodey said.

"It's not like they didn't know we were coming after Tony and Steve went and confronted the head of all of this," Skye said.

"We didn't go in ready to fight, and we had backup. You went in alone and started a full-fledged battle," Tony said.

"Which she wouldn't have had to do if she wasn't being treated like a regular teenager, which we all know she isn't," Peter said.

"She is being treated like a teenager because, abilities or not, she is a teenager and is still very new to all this," Tony said. "And none of us would go out there and do this alone, which proves that maybe she isn't as ready as we thought."

"Well, maybe if I wasn't being jerked around about whether I was allowed to fight or not I wouldn't have had to do what I did," Skye said snarkily.

"Skyler, no. You do not get to take that tone," Steve said sharply.

"Okay, let's all just take a breath before this gets out of hand. These debriefings are not supposed to be about attacking anyone," Nat said.

They took a break for everyone to calm down. "I think we can all agree that her going off on her own, was not the right choice," Tony said.

Everyone agreed with that statement

"Outside of that though, I personally think that she held her own. And, had she been there with others, I don't think it would have ended the same way," Nat said.

"I agree with that," Wanda said. "She has been only getting better in the last few months of training, and she won't continue to get better without some real hands-on experience."

"I'm sorry I went off on my own," Skye said. "It won't happen again."

Everyone nodded, and the subject was shifted from her and on to other aspects of what happened.

The meeting ended mid-afternoon, and everyone headed off in different directions.

Skye went to her room and sat on the window seat. A few minutes later Steve knocked on her door.

"Yeah?" Skye said.

Steve went in and closed the door behind him.

"How are you doing?" he asked.

"I'm okay," Skye said.

"What's your pain level?" he asked.

"Three," Skye said.

"And your sugar level?" Steve asked.

"Just checked, it's normal," Skye said.

Steve nodded as he sat across from her. "Skye, I wish you had just waited for us to go after them."

"You had told me that I was basically in lockdown until further notice and that I wasn't allowed to fight," Skye said.

"I know, and maybe that wasn't fair. But, this situation, it's all new to me. I haven't had a chance to figure out how to handle this before it's all thrown at me. You have got to give me time to think things through before you go running off and getting yourself hurt, or next time it could be killed. If Tony and the rest of the team hadn't gotten there when they did, they could have killed you. They would have certainly taken your DNA. I don't know for sure they would replicate the serum, but they would be closer with your DNA," Steve said.

Skye nodded. "I know, and I have apologized. I don't know what more I can say."

"Okay, but you have got to realize that regardless of whether what I did was fair or not, you need to learn to do as you are told. And to have used your strength against the security people here is never okay under any circumstance," Steve said sternly.

Skye nodded again. "I will apologize to them too."

"Glad to hear that, but there is still going to be a consequence," Steve said.

"I know," Skye said softly.

Steve moved to sit in the middle of the window seat and carefully helped Skye over his lap.

Skye took a breath.

Steve started to spank her, and before long she was whimpering.

"I do not care if you think what I tell you is fair. You can talk to me about it, but you can not go against what I tell you to do," Steve lectured

"Yes, Sir," Skye whimpered.

"And you can never use your abilities against the good guys," Steve said as he started to spank harder.

Skye started to cry and nodded that she understood.

It wasn't much longer until Skye was sobbing, and Steve stopped for a moment.

"If we ever have to have this conversation again, I will not be as lenient as I now. Understood?" Steve asked.

"Yes, Sir," Skye said.

Steve focused the last dozen swats on her sit spots before sitting her up in his lap and wrapping her in a hug.

Skye sobbed into him, clinging to his shirt as she apologized over and over again.

"It's forgiven. You've been punished, and we are moving on," Steve said softly.

Skye started to calm down, and Steve continued to just hold her until she moved from his lap.

"You're okay?" Steve asked.

"Yes," Skye said softly, looking down.

Steve gently lifted her chin. "You sure?" he asked when she was looking him in the eyes.

"I don't like being in trouble, disappointing you, letting you down," Skye said.

"All those things have been dealt with. And, while I don't like the way you went about this, seeing the footage from your suit's camera, you handled yourself pretty well for it being your first time," Steve said.

Skye smiled a little.

"I'm proud of how hard you have worked and how far you have come. We can discuss your involvement in future missions on a case-by-case basis. School comes first. Being a kid comes first, and as long as you do as you're told," Steve said.

Skye's smile grew, and she hugged him. "Understood,"

Steve hugged her tight. "I need you to stay safe, Skye."

"I know. I will. I won't go in alone again," Skye promised.

"Okay, good," Steve said.

The two left her room. Skye went to find the security guards. She apologized and promised them she wouldn't use her abilities against them again.

Steve had gone to the kitchen, where Bucky and Nat were.

Bucky looked at Steve. "You okay?"

"When we saw her throwing that guy off her in the alley that night, I knew I wanted to help her, make sure she knew how to use her abilities for good, and that hasn't changed. But the day I found out she was my daughter, something changed. All I want is for her to be safe. But she has been trained and wants to help, and if I don't let her," Steve said.

"She will find someone who will," Bucky said.

"Skye's a good kid. She won't go to the bad side," Nat said.

"I didn't think she would," Bucky said. "I just think, like her dad, she won't take no for an answer and find a way to help. That might not be the most advisable thing to do."

Steve smirked. "Hey, it worked."

"Yeah, because you got lucky," Bucky said.

"But Skye is safe, and we will continue to keep her safe," Nat said.

Steve nodded. "I know, I will be letting her fight on a case-by-case basis."

"I think that is the right call," Nat said.

After finishing her apologies Skye went to sit outside in her favorite place, leaning against the wall of the building.

She was there for about an hour before Peter sat next to her.

"Everyone looking for me?" Skye asked.

"No, they know where you are," Peter said.

Skye chuckled. "I should have guessed."

"You're okay, though? I don't need to drag you inside?" Peter asked.

"I'm okay, physically," Skye said.

"I get it," Peter said.

Skye looked at him.

"Wanting to do more than you're being allowed to do," Peter said.

"You said it was stupid," Skye said.

"Well, it was. But I've done it and worse," Peter said. "And if I found out my best friend was working for the other side, I would have done the same as you did."

Skye nodded.

"Of all people who could understand finding out their best friend was working for Hydra, it would be your dad," Peter said.

"Bucky was experimented on, and it wasn't really him doing those things. It was the winter soldier," Skye said.

"We don't know what Kate was told, or what has been done to her," Peter said.

"Yeah, I believe she has been lied to and manipulated. But she isn't stupid enough to think that I wouldn't be hurt to get what Hydra wants," Skye said.

Peter nodded.

"After everything we have been through," Skye said, "I just can't understand how she could be doing these things."

Peter nodded. "Sometimes people do things they don't want to out of desperation."

"What could she be so desperate for that she would work with people who want to hurt me?" Skye asked.

"She very well could be thinking that they wouldn't hurt you. Maybe they told her that all they wanted with you was your DNA and that they wouldn't hurt you to get it," Peter said.

"But she was part of them. They all attacked me, her included, and I did get hurt, pretty badly," Skye said.

"I know," Peter said.

"I know you are trying to help, but nothing you say is going to change the fact that someone I considered to be a big sister was part of a group trying to and were able to hurt me," Skye said.

Peter nodded, "Then all I can say is I'm sorry and I will be here if you ever want to talk about it."

Skye nodded. "Thank you." She closed her eyes and leaned her head against the building.

"You're sure you're okay?" Peter asked.

"Headache is coming back," Skye said.

"Maybe we should go back inside then," Peter suggested.

"Yeah, that's probably a good idea," Skye said.

They both got up and went back inside.
