Chapter 1: Fate Truly Is Weird
Inko Midoriya, a woman in her mid-20s, found solace in the tranquility of the park, seated on a weathered bench. Beside her, Mitsuki Bakugo, a long-time friend, shared the latest misadventure of her son Katsuki, who had managed to break yet another dish. Amidst their conversation, the park echoed with the laughter of children playing near the sandbox.
Two youngsters, Izuku Midoriya with his unruly green curls and Katsuki Bakugo with a mop of blond hair, sat in the sand pit, eagerly awaiting the manifestation of their quirks as they approached their fourth birthdays. Katsuki, the more outspoken of the two, boasted confidently, "When I get my quirk, it will be as strong as All Might's! I'll be the next number one hero, and you'll be my sidekick!" Izuku, his eyes gleaming with admiration, nodded in enthusiastic agreement.
Unbeknownst to the mothers engrossed in their conversation and the aspiring young heroes absorbed in their dreams, a shadowy figure observed the scene with mild interest. The entity, imprisoned within the depths of the forest for centuries, had found amusement in witnessing the innocent aspirations tainted by society's hero labels, even among the youngest generation. His tar-black skin blended into the shadows, rendering him invisible to ordinary human eyes, thanks to the sealing efforts of those he called "damned angels."
Considering the spectacle before him, the entity contemplated returning to the depths of the forest when a peculiar occurrence caught his attention. Izuku, the green-haired boy, was staring directly at him. Intrigued, the entity raised an eyebrow, his stoic expression revealing no emotion. To his surprise, the child approached, excitement radiating from his every step. Within minutes, the boy stood before the entity, bubbling with curiosity.
"Hey, sir! What's your quirk?" Izuku asked, his eyes wide with wonder. "Are you a hero?"
The entity chuckled, lowering himself to the child's eye level. "And why would you like to know that, child?" he inquired, awaiting the boy's response.
Eagerly, Izuku rambled, "Well, because I find quirks so cool! Plus, to be a hero, you must have a quirk. So, knowing as much as you can about it would be something everyone else should have."
Intrigued by the child's innocence, the entity peered into Izuku's soul. What he saw in the tapestry of fate compelled a twisted chuckle to escape his lips. "Oh, child. Life is about much more than quirks or heroes. Life is actually much less. No, life is about survival, and it appears that you will have to learn that... perhaps a bit too soon."
As the entity's words hung in the air, a sense of foreboding settled over the park, the invisible threads of destiny weaving their complex patterns around the unsuspecting children.
