(Abigail's POV)
*We made our way out of the burning ruins of Dingo City*
Sonic: Nice work, Knuckles, Abby! Looks like between you two, me, the Chaotix, and the Dark Legion, we sure kicked butt on General Kage and his dingo army!
Abigail: Sonic! This is hardly the time for congratulations!
Locke: The young lady is right. Especially if one of Robotnik's agents is homing on the Master Emerald even as we speak!
*Lien-Da stepped up to us*
Lien-Da: You've got to be kidding, Locke! This wouldn't have happened if we hadn't wasted time and echidna power staging your rescue! Robotnik's agents could be walking into the Hidden Palace right now.
Sonic: What's the big deal, Commercial, when you've got the Fastest Thing Alive on your team? I'll be there before you can say 'would-be-world conquerer!
Locke: I suggest you take my son along for the ride, Sonic.
Knuckles: Me!? Dad without my Chaos Powers, what am I supposed to do? Cheer?
Locke: You can lend your friend a hand . . .
Sonic: Not that I'll really need the help, but ditch the gear all the same. This is one hedgehog that likes to travel light!
*Knuckles took off his goggles & other gear*
Abigail: I'm coming too. Huck is still at the camp.
Sonic: You got, Abby. *he picked me up & Knuckles held on to his back* Hold on tight!
*We zoomed away*
*We made it back to the camp to find Huck, Lara, who was holding Mace, Lina, Wynmacher, Saffron, & a male dark red fire ant with blue eyes wearing a brown cowboy hat, a bone necklace, a brown vest, brown gloves, & brown boots facing the Hunter*
Hunter: You can try . . . But you won't succeed.
Sonic: Then I guess we'll have to keep fighting until we get it right!
Knuckles: Long time no beat down, Hunter.
Abigail: You know this guy?
Knuckles: Long story.
*Suddenly, the Hunter threw his glowing green spear at us*
Abigail: Look out!
*We dodged it*
Sonic: Whoa!
Knuckles: Hey! *he landed on the ground in front of the fire ant* Archimedes! What are you doing h - Oh, nevermind!
*Sonic & I went to attack him*
Abigail: Not so fast, creep!
*Suddenly, a red ball with a yellow star on it appeared in front of us*
Sonic: Hey! What the heck is this?
*Then he scooped me up & we dodged as more balls came flying at us*
Hunter: A little something to keep you and your little friend occupied while I complete my mission.
Knuckles: I don't think -
*Suddenly, he screamed in pain*
Lara-Le & Lina-Le: Knuckles!
Huckleberry: Chao-Chao!
Hunter: Retrieve.
*The spear went flying back to him*
*Lara & Lina ran up to Knuckles, with tears in their eyes*
Lara-Le: Knuckles? Say something, son!
Lina-Le: Are you okay!?
Knuckles: M - Mom . . .? L - Lina . . .?
*Just then, the Hunter stood over him. Lina put herself in front of her brother to protect him*
Hunter: Bah. You used to be something, echidna. What happened to you? Who cares? *he lifted his spear & got ready to strike* It's time to collect my trophy!
*I was about to run over & help them, when suddenly, Knuckles was hit with pink energy*
Lina-Le: Knuckles!
Lara-Le: Wh - What's happening to him, Wyn?
Wynmacher: I don't know, Lara, but we'd better stand back!
Knuckles: It's about time!
*Then he floated up in the air & turned completely pink*
Sonic: I gotta admit, I wasn't expecting that to happen!
Abigail: Me neither.
Huckleberry: Chao . . .
*Then Charmy, Julie-Su, & Locke entered the room*
Julie-Su: Kn - Knuckles . . .?
*The Hunter threw the spear at Knuckles, but he stopped it with his hand*
Super Knuckles: No. Super Knuckles.
*Then he snapped the spear in half*
Hunter: No.
*Then he flew into attack the Hunter*
Locke: Archimedes, you were right! I can't bear to look!
*Knuckles grabbed Hunter & flew straight up out of the palace*
Hunter: Let . . . Go . . . Of . . . Me . . . You stinking echidna!
Knuckles: With pleasure.
*He spun him around & around really fast until he let go, sending him flying into the ocean below the island*
Lina-Le: Alright! Yeah! That's my big brother!
*We all ran outside & saw the dingos running towards open Warp Rings. One of the balls landed in front of me & Sonic*
General Kage: Retreat! Retreat!
*Then we saw all the echidnas, including the Dark Legion, bowing to him & chanting "Avatar, " except Lien-Da*
Lien-Da: No! Stop it, you fools! Have you lost your minds!? What are you doing!?
*Knuckles released a burst of Chaos Energy*
Sonic: Whoa.
Abigail: Double whoa.
Huckleberry: Chao . . .
*Then Knuckles flew down & turned back to normal*
Knuckles: My Chaos powers have returned! Yes! Dad! Archimedes! How is this possible?
Archimedes: Your powers never left, lad. They've laid dormant since you returned from the afterlife.
Locke: You hadn't been in contact with the Master Emerald during that time. We suspect that contact with it was necessary to reawaken them.
*Suddenly, a holographic image of Eggman's face appeared out of the ball*
Dr. Eggman: Knuckles may be may a heavy hitter once more, but it doesn't matter since I now have the Master Emerald's location! And an army of my Egg Pawns is en route to that not so Hidden Palace even as we -
*Sonic stopped on it*
Sonic: Aaah shaddup!
Locke: We've got to move the Master Emerald to a new hiding place!
Knuckles: Agreed! *just then, he noticed something* Where's Constable Remington?
Archimedes: Both he and Doctor Finitevus were among the casualties of Hunter's Chaos Spear. I'm sorry, Knuckles.
*Tears came out of Knuckles eyes*
Knuckles: Remmy . . .
Lien-Da: There's no time to mourn friends . . . Or family.
*Later, the echidnas & Dark Legion are leaving through Warp Rings to a safe place to hide from Eggman's coming robots. A few of them were carrying the Master Emerald to the new location. But Lina stayed with us, carrying a backpack*
Knuckles: Mom, you want me to what!?
Lara-Le: I want you to take your sister with you back to Acorn Kingdom. She'll be safer there and away from all the fighting.
Knuckles: I understand that. But . . . *he turned to his sister* Are you sure you want to come with us?
Lina-Le: I'll admit, I'm not exactly thrilled with the idea, but I'd rather not be caught in the crossfire if the Legions start fighting again. So, if it means I finally have a little peace and quiet, then I can be flexible.
Knuckles: Well, okay. If that's what you really want.
*She nodded & she hugged her Mom*
Lina-Le: I'll miss you, Mom.
Lara-Le: I'll miss you too, darling. You listen to your brother and stay out of trouble.
Lina-Le: I'll try. *she turned to her Step-Father* I'll miss you, Wynmacher.
Wynmacher: Me too, dear.
*Then she took her baby brother in her arms & hugged him*
Lina-Le: You be good for Mommy, okay buddy.
Mace: Li-Li! Li-Li!
*She giggled & gave him another hug before giving him back to her Mom. Then Knuckles turned to his Dad*
Knuckles: Dad, promise me you'll keep an eye on Lien-Da and the Emerald while I'm gone.
Locke: While you're - ?
*Then the plane we came here in arrived*
Sonic: Yo, Knux! There's our ride!
*The plane dropped a rope & most of the team started to climb up*
Locke: What? You're leaving? You too, Julie-Su?
*Knuckles & Julie-Su both looked down, looking regretful*
Knuckles: I made a promise to Princess Sally that I'd return to Acorn Kingdom as soon as we'd rescued you, Dad.
Locke: But what of your duties as Guardian of Angel Island!?
Knuckles: Seeing everything that's happened here while I was away has made me realize that if Robotnik takes over Mobius, the whole planet will be in trouble, not just Angel Island! I can't let that happen.
Locke: So, now that your powers have finally return and you have the power of flight, you'd rather turn your back on your home rather than reclaiming it from evil!?
Knuckles: Dad, I -
Locke: Suit yourself.
*It was with that said, that Lina looked like she had snapped*
Lina-Le: So that's it. You think just because Knuckles is leaving the island, that he doesn't care? I'm leaving the island too, so does that mean you think I don't care either?
*He looked surprised by her outburst & reached his out to touch her cheek*
Locke: Lina, sweetheart, that's different. I'm just trying to -
*She slapped his hand away*
Lina-Le: No! All of our lives all you've ever cared about was thar stupid rock and traditions more than your family! You've never cared about our feelings or what we want! You don't even listen! You're always so selfish! It's always about what you want! What kind of Father refuses listen to his own kids!?
*Locke was completely shocked by that. Then she turned around & walked towards the rope, with tears in her eyes*
Locke: Lina, sweetheart! Wait!
*She ignored him & climbed up the rope to the ship. Lara put her hand on his shoulder*
Lara-Le: Don't worry, Locke. I'm she just needs some time to cool down.
*Locke didn't say anything as he just went into a Warp Ring. I felt really bad for him, but hopefully this'll teach him to listen more, because from what I just heard, it sounds like he doesn't do that a lot. Then Knuckles turned the his Mom*
Lara-Le: Take care of yourself, son! We'll miss you!
Knuckles: I'll miss you too, Mom. I'll miss you, too . . .
*Then we all headed home. Neither Knuckles or Lina said anything the whole way*
*The next day, we, along with Rob, were gathered at Castle Acorn for a very special ceremony. Sally stood behind a pedestal as she told the story of how Amy started out*
Sally: . . . And that was that first time Amy Rose showed Amy interest in becoming a Freedom Fighter. *Amy looked embarrassed* The next time she wanted to join us, she decided to use Sonic's Billionth Magic Ring to wish herself older. And though she was older physically, she was still very young and immature mentally. At least, until now. I think Amy has grown to be a beautiful young lady *she winked at Amy over her shoulder* inside and out.
Amy: Th - Thank you, Sally.
Sally: I hate this war we've been fighting against Robotnik. In a way, we've all been fighting it all out lives. We've had great victories and terrible losses over the years, but we do what must be done. And we do it together as a family. Even during the worst of circumstances, I think working together brings out the best in each of us. Nothing was more evident of that than the day Amy Rose stood in front of the first battalion of Swat-Bots and battled them almost single-handedly.
Amy: With a little help from my Piko-Piko Hammer. *Sally gave her a stern look* Sorry.
Sally: No, no. You're right. If I'm going to tell the story, I have to tell it right. *she picked up a gold box* Amy, and her Piko-Piko Hammer, gave everyone at Fort Acorn the time needed to plan a good defence against the second, much deadlier, battalion of bots and saved us all from nuclear fallout. *she took a gold acorn shaped badge out of the box* That is why today, we are honoring Amy Rose Hedgehog with the Acorn Medal of Valor.
*She placed the badge on Amy's chest*
Amy: I - I don't know what to say.
Sally: Would you know what to say if I asked you to join us officially?
Amy: You mean, as a member? *she shook Sally's hand* I've wanted to become a Freedom Fighter my whole life and I am honored to be asked. I say, "Yes"!
*Rob looked really proud of his little cousin*
Sally: I present to you the newest addition to the Freedom Fighters. Amy Rose.
*Amy jumped up into the air, holding up her hammer, while the rest of us pumped up our fists*
Amy: Freedom Fighters forever! Yippee!
