(Abigail's POV)
*That night, me (back in my regular clothes), Daniel, Sonic, & Sally came downstairs. Silver was looking at some pictures in the living room*
King Sonic: Sorry to keep you waiting. It took us a bit to get Maria and the twins to bed.
Silver: I understand. They had a rough day. *he put down a picture frame while the rest of us sat down on the couch* Are rocket attacks against you common these days?
Queen Sally: No. The whole point of the celebration today was to mark five years of peace.
Abigail: Well . . . Mostly peaceful. When King Shadow lost his position of power, it made quite a few regional leaders . . . Uh . . .
Daniel: Over-eager. My Father, King Shadow's, former secret police, the Dark Presence, also work against us here in the capital.
King Sonic: But outside of today, things really have been quiet. Mostly thanks to my Queen.
Queen Sally: A hero back from the dead is a tough act to beat.
King Sonic: The Queen who kept the peace under King Shadow and through a coup d'etat does just that.
Silver: Yeah, well that peace of yours is at an end. Something happens in this period of time that will destroy my time, one hundred and seventy years into the future.
Abigail: During this exact time? Are you sure?
Silver: R - Reasonably. Look, if you're doubting me because I attacked Sonic before . . .
Queen Sally: You what? When?
Silver: It was two hundred years ago. Well, thirty for you, I mean, but two hundred for me.
King Sonic: Guys? Guys? From one time-hopper to another, trust me when I say that trying to make past and present sync perfectly is sometimes more trouble than it's worth.
Silver: Since when have you time-traveled? How?
King Sonic: I'd rather not talk about it. You?
Silver: Er . . . Trade secret.
King Sonic: Well then.
*Silver realized that he couldn't win this round*
Silver: A - Anyway. I'm willing to bet that the disaster in your time is linked to the group that attacked you this morning.
Daniel: The Dark Presence. They're hold-overs from an old paramilitary group called the Dark Legion.
Abigail: They have two divisions. The Dark Eyes, in charge of espionage, and the Dark Hands, who do all the field operations. They've never done anything to endanger the world outside of destabilizing the government.
King Sonic: You're forgetting Lien-Da.
Silver: Who?
King Sonic: The leader of the Dark Presence and King Shadow's right hand woman. When I took over, she disappeared and left her family behind.
Silver: If we're facing such a well, organized enemy, then we'll need the Freedom Fighters!
Daniel: Uh . . . The Freedom Fighters disbanded long before I was born.
*Silver face-palmed*
Silver: You've gotta be kidding me!
Queen Sally: There was world-wide peace under King Shadow, despite his oppression and I convinced them to stand down to preserve that peace when I began instilling my own policies.
Silver: In that case . . . Would that make her the traitor? No , that doesn't fit!
Queen Sally: I'm sorry?
Silver: I said, isn't there anyone we can call?
Abigail: I suppose we could try calling the Chaotix back from around the world. But without a clear threat . . .
King Sonic: Well, there are a couple of former Freedom Fighters we were planning on meet tomorrow. I'm sure we can count on the Prowers.
Silver: I dunno . . . I was expecting something different from this timeline.
King Sonic: Hey, we can make it work, no matter what.
Queen Sally: Perhaps if you gave us more detail beyond "the world is going to end" . . .
Abigail: Yes. If there any way you can give us more details?
*Just then, a maid entered the room, holding a tray with a handkerchief over it. That immediately set off warning bells in my head. I looked at Danny & saw that he had his guard up*
Maid: I do beg your pardon. If you will be staying us, may I bring you any refreshments?
Queen Sally: Thank you, but nothing for me.
King Sonic: Ditto. At this age, I just can't do the chilli dogs at all hours anymore.
Abigail: No, thank you.
Daniel: I'm good.
Maid:*to Silver* And you, sir?
Silver: I, um, no, thank you.
Maid: Aren't you that brave and mysterious stranger? The one who saved our King with his amazing powers?
Silver: Aw, well, I don't know about "amazing" or "brave", I mean, I did, sure, but . .
*Suddenly, the maid pulled out a gun from underneath the handkerchief & sprayed him with green gas*
Maid: Well, we can't have a repeat of that, hero.
*He fall asleep. Sonic quickly sprung into action & pinned her to a wall*
King Sonic: Two years is a long time to be a sleeper agen.
Maid: Don't worry, sire. The kids are safe in their beds. And we wouldn't do anything to harm our King's heir or Princess.
*Danny & I flinched at that. Then Sonic sprayed her with the gas & then she fell asleep. Sally & I checked on Silver*
Queen Sally: He's alright. He's asleep.
King Sonic: Lien-Da probably wants to get us personally. Here's the plan. You and Abby take Sleeping Beauty here and the kids and lock yourselves in the Panic Room. Danny and I'll hold off the Dark Presence.
Daniel: You got it, Uncle Sonic.
Queen Sally: I served next King Shadow for years. I've never taken to being a damsel in distress.
King Sonic: They shot a rocket at my head. They're gunning for me first. You can get out kids to safety.
Queen Sally: And then sit around while you risk your life and limb and play action hero again.
Abigail: Uh . . Guys. Now's not really the best time or place for this.
Sonic & Sally: Stay out of this!
*They turned back to each other*
King Sonic: Yes. This Kingdom and our kids are more important than me by a long shot.
Queen Sally: Fine then!
King Sonic: Fine!
Queen Sally: Be careful! Be safe!
King Sonic: I will!
Queen Sally: Good!
King Sonic: Good!
*They kissed each other & then Sonic zoomed off with Danny while I helped Sally with Silver*
King Sonic: Sonic the Hedgehog. Winning arguments for married men the world over.
Daniel: That was awesome, Uncle Sonic.
King Sonic: Taka a note, kid. Someday, you'll be facing the same battles.
(Daniel's POV)
*Uncle Sonic & I zoomed down the hallway, only to find Lara-Su, with a pile of unconscious Dark Presence agents around her*
King Sonic: Awww, Lara-Su! Don't tell me you got them all already!
Lara-Su: You need to be quicker, Your Majesty. You too, Danny.
*Just then, one of the fallen Agents started to get up, but Sonic hit him with a spin dash*
Daniel: Nice one, Uncle Sonic!
King Sonic: Still got it.
Lara-Su: That you do. You're going to have to teach me that move.
Daniel: My too. That would be awesome!
King Sonic: Sure. All in the legs and - *suddenly, the security lasers turned towards us* Uh-oh.
Lara-Su: The security system has been turned against us!
*We ran down the hallway, avoiding the lasers*
Daniel: Lien-Da must have had some kind of backdoor into the security access codes!
King Sonic: And I told Knuckles he was being paranoid when he wanted to replace the entire security system.
Lara-Su: She's probably initiated a full lock-down. What do we do?
King Sonic: We get out while we can and think of a plan.
Lara-Su: What about the Queen and . . .?
Daniel: Mom and Aunt Sally have everything under control. They're taking Maria and the twins to the Panic Room as we speak.
King Sonic: Right. Now - *he used a spin dash to crash through a window. I followed his lead while Lara flew* Let's do it to it!
*She grabbed on to our hands while she flew us to the ground*
Lara-Su: Did you seriously use that line back in the day?
King Sonic: It's a classic! Or would you prefer "Hasta la vista Mistah"?
*All three of us laughed.
Daniel: Only you could make us laugh in a situation like - *suddenly, I saw something that made my eyes go wide* Oh no.
King Sonic: What's up? Do you see a problem?
Daniel: Signs of one.
*I saw Melody & Skye running down the street. Lara sent us down in front of them*
Melody: King Sonic! King Sonic! Help!
King Sonic: Skye! Melody! Are you alright?
Melody: Yessir! You've got to help! A bunch of bad guys in black attacked Mom and Dad!
Lara-Su: They already got to the Powers!?
Daniel: Oh no . . .
Melody: We tried to find help, but all the E.S.T. are busy with all the people partying and we couldn't find anyone and-and-and-!
King Sonic: Shh, you did fine.
*Skye started to cry*
Melody: No, we didn't! Mom dropped us off and we didn't go to help! We could've saved them!
Lara-Su: King Shadow was just one guy! How are we supposed to take back the entire castle with the Dark Presence locked in? Maybe we if we had the Powers with us, but now . . .
Daniel: But if we don't do something, they might find Mom, Aunt Sally, the twins, and Maria! But how can we -
King Sonic: Okay, TIME OUT! *he turned to Skye & Melody* I know how these bad guys work. Your folks are asleep and probably tied up, but fine. Until we rescue them, I'll make sure nothing bad happens to you two. Okay?
Melody: A - Alright.
Skye: . . . Okay.
*Then he turned to me & Lara*
King Sonic: And Lara-Su and Danny are going to help out because Lara is a Guardian, Danny has Chaos powers, and are going to pull themselves together, right?
Lara-Su: Y - Yeah. Sorry about that, sir.
Daniel: Sorry, Uncle Sonic.
King Sonic: Don't worry. Half of Mobius is on the island right now for the party. There's bound to be somebody here we can recruit.
Lara-Su: Right.
King Sonic: First, though, we need someplace safe to fall back to.
Lara-Su: I'm sure Argyle will help us out.
King Sonic: Who?
Lara-Su: Uncle Vector's son. We're . . . He's a good friend.
King Sonic: Sounds good! Lead the way!
*We all started to run down the street. Suddenly, I felt a surge go through me & I saw an image flash before my eyes*
(Raven's Home - Nia First Physic Vision - Sleevemore Part Two: Found)
(Vision - Third-Person POV)
*In an unknown location, Lien-Da sat in a stone throne in front of a statue of King Nigel. Two Dark Presence Agents stood in front of her*
Dark Eye Agent: All teams have checked in, Ma'am.
Lien-Da: Them report, my Dark Eyes.
Dark Eye Agent: Miles and Mina Prower have been secured in their hotel room. All castle staff have been confined to their rooms. The security system is now at your command. The team monitoring it says they saw most of the Royal Family, along with the King's Mistress, heading to an unknown section of the Castle.
Lien-Da: The Panic Room, I'm sure. They're locking themselves away for us, which is fine by me.
*She got up from the throne. Two Dark Hands Agents had a big device in-between them*
Dark Hand Agent: The King, the Guardian, and the Crown Prince are still at large, Ma'am.
Lien-Da: It doesn't matter at this point. Bring the Chaos Syphon and follow me. *the two agents picked up the Syphon & followed her down a hallway* By the time they stage a counter-offensive, our mission will be complete. A fitting end to this pitiful regime. *they entered an elevator* I don't care what "stability" she brought, I never liked the Queen. And the only thing that weakling Mistress was good for was giving the King an heir. Things got done under King Shadow. He appreciated what we did. *the elevator stopping, they got out, & went down another hallway* The rest of the world may think things are better now, but they don't see the chaos on the horizon. *they came up to a door. she put her hand to a pad & it scanned her hand* We need strong, decisive leadership. Spare the rod and you spoil the world. It's taken five years of R & D . . . *the doors opened* But it'll be worth it. A world saved and my family returned to me. *they hooked the Siphon up to what looked like a containment unit* Who was it that shaped the Chaos Fires that hold you? Knuckles? Miles? The horrible Kintobor woman?
*One of the Dark Hands Agents was hooking up th Syphon*
Dark Hand Agent #1: We're all set. Inverse energy flow is steady.
*The other one was typing on a lap top*
Dark Hand Agent #2: Vitals are stable . . . Spatial matrix is deteriorating. He's coming out of it.
*The container began to open*
Lien-Da: At long last!
*Once it was fully opened, she & the two agents fell to their knees, bowing*
?:*off-screen* Lien-Da . . .
Lien-Da: My sincere apologies for taking so long, Your Majesty. *the container opened completely, revealing King Shadow* Let the reign of King Shadow begin anew!
(Reality - Daniel's POV)
*I immediately stopped in my tracks as I held my head in pain. Everyone stopped to check on me*
King Sonic: Whoa! Danny, are you alright?
Daniel: I - I think so. *then I remembered what I had just seen* Uncle Sonic, I . . . I the Dark Presence. They were in the castle dungeon. They used something called a Chaos Syphon to bring back . . . Him.
*Everyone looked at me in shock*
