(Daniel's POV)
*Me, Uncle Sonic, Lara, & the rest of the new Freedom Fighters all stood in the street as we watched the monster destroy the castle*
Belle: As Papa might say - "Mon Dieu."
Jacques: Sho' nuff.
Lara-Su: Oh no . . .
Daniel: You said it.
King Sonic: Anybody got any idea what that thing is and why it's wrecking my castle?
Lara-Su: It's Tikhaos . . . The poor dear . . .
King Sonic: "Tikhaos"? As in "Tikal-plus-Chaos"?
Daniel: Exactly.
Jacques: You do not recall the Ixis Resurgence or the Elemental War?
King Sonic: No. I kinda wrote myself out of the timeline when I went back to fix it. Sue me.
Lara-Su: To summarize, the spirit Tikal had to fuse with the Water God Chaos and became a very unstable being. Especially when exposed to Chaos Energy. We had her sealed away from everyone's protection. So how did she get that much Chaos Energy.
Belle: I doubt even the Dark Presence would be crazy enough to unleash her.
Daniel:*in his mind* I can think of only one hedgehog crazy enough to do something like this.
King Sonic: None of that matters right now. We've got an island, and a planet, to save. We'll find whoever's responsible later. Okay, on a scale of zero-to-perfect, how strong is she? Because we're fresh out of Chaos Emeralds.
Lara-Su: Near perfect, but not invincible. If we can keep her stationary and wear her down, I might be able to use "Tikal's Prayer" to calm her.
King Sonic: Cool. Argyle? Can you still read me?
Argyle:*off-screen* Can't stop the signal, sire. What do you want me to do?
King Sonic: Get in touch with the E.S.T. start them organizing an evacuation of Portal.
Argyle:*off-screen* One step ahead of you, sire. They were already on crowd control from this morning. The giant water monster helps, too.
King Sonic: Good to know. Lara-Su, take the Freedom Fighters and stall Tikhaos.
Lara-Su: M - Me? You want me running the show?
King Sonic: There's nobody better, Guardian. Danny and I need to rescue our families from my crumbling castle.
Lara-Su: Hoo-boy. Okay! Jacques, Belle, I want you on frontal assault. Keep her from moving forward.
Jacques: You can count on us, miss.
Belle: Oui, Capitane.
Lara-Su: Melody - Skye? Can I ask you guys to run interference?
Melody: Oh, I'll run all right. That thing won't know where I came from!
Skye: I - I - I'll help. I'll d - do my best.
Lara-Su: Freedom Fighters, Go!
*While they charged the monster, Uncle Sonic & I scaled the wall, towards the Panic Room*
(Abigail's POV)
*Daniel & Sonic came in through a hole in the wall that was made by the recent shaking*
King Sonic: Honey, we're home!
Daniel: Mom! *he ran up to me & Maria & hugged us* Are you guys okay?
Maria: We're okay, big brother.
Abigail: We just fine, dear.
*Sonic hugged the twins*
King Sonic: Are you guys alright?
Sonia: We're fine, Daddy!
Manik: We're - fine - did - you - see - that - awesome - monster - that - came - out - of - the - castle - what - was - that!?
Daniel: We'll explain later, Manik.
*Then Sonic hugged his wife*
King Sonic: Don't about the castle, Hon. Just a minor fixer-upper.
Queen Sally: Pushing fifty and you haven't changed one iota, Mr. Hedgehog.
King Sonic: King Hedgehog, thank you. *He turned to Silver, who was still a little groggy* Good morning, sleepyhead.
Silver: Ergh . . . I told you this would happen.
*Sonic, Daniel, & Silver looked out at the monster attacking the city*
King Sonic: Does this match the type of ruination if your future?
Silver: Pockets of civilization struggling against a global sea that seems to have a grudge. Yeah, I'd say this fits.
*Sonic picked up both me & Sally*
Sally & Abigail: Whoops!
King Sonic: Well, Danny and I took your advice, got some Freedom Fighters together, and now they're on the case. Are you back to full power?
Silver: I - um - Close enough?
King Sonic: Good!
*Danny turned to Maria & the twins*
Daniel: Okay, guys, it's time to play follow the leader! Just do what me & Uncle Sonic do and we'll go down the coast, okay?
Maria & Sonia: Okay!
Manik: On the outside!? Awesome!
Sally: This I remember, oh boy . . .
Abigail: Just like old times, right?
Sally:*sigh* Yep.
*Sonic jumped with Daniel, Maria, & the twins following him. Sally & I screamed with excitement. Silver floated with his telekinesis*
Manik: I bet I can get down faster!
Sonia: Nuh-uh! I can!
Maria: No me!
King Sonic: Sonia! Manik! Maria! Not now kids! Just follow me and Danny!
*Then they surfed on rocks down the water*
Sonia & Manik: Sorry Dad.
Maria: Sorry, Uncle Sonic.
Daniel: You're doing great! Keep it up! Are you there, Argyle? We could use an update.
Argyle:*off-screen* Sorry, Danny. There's a lot of com-traffic right now . . . The echidna security team says evacuation of Portalis slow, but it could be worse. Buses are already en route to Encidnaopolis and they're prepping shuttles to escape the island. Tikhaos is right on the city limits. But the damage has been minimal so far. No injuries. That's thanks to the Freedom Fighters. They've managed to stop her advance, but they're doing all they can not to get killed out there. I'm trying to get in touch with any of the Chaotix around the world for back-up, but no luck so far. Get this. The Dark Presence contacted me. They've renounce King Shadow and are helping with the evacuation efforts. *that made me happy to hear* They've also said they've freed Mister and Missus Prower, so our guys will have some back-up soon. *We all landed on a rooftop & watched the battle below. Silver, Tails, & Mina has also joined the fight* Sire, it's Argyle!
King Sonic: Go ahead.
Argyle:*off-screen* They've got Tikhaos stationary, but I don't know if they can keep this kind of assault up.
King Sonic: Patch me through to Lara-Su. Lara, it's Sonic. What do we need to do to bring her down?
Lara-Su:*off-screen* We're not weakening her enough. We need to take the fight out of her fast or she'll just endure us.
*Sonia & Manik tugged on his cape & quills*
Manik: Dad! Hey Dad! Why don't you and hit it in the brain like before?
King Sonic: Before?
Sonia: Yeah, like when you fought Perfect Chaos when you were young.
*I giggled
King Sonic: "When I was young," Ouch.
Queen Sally: Your biggest fans do have a point.
King Sonic: And a plan, at that.
(Daniel's POV)
*Uncle Sonic & I started running down the side of the building*
King Sonic: Granted there was little bit more involved in that fight, but this isn't Perfect Chaos and it's not like fighting Water-Spirit-Monster-Things is an exact science.
Daniel: When was anything you do an exact science?
King Sonic: True enough. Argyle! Patch us through to everyone!
Daniel: Uncle Sonic & I need a clear shot at Tikhaos' head! *we started running up the monster while everyone was holding back the tentacles* If we can get up enough speed behind this hit, then it'll be the only one we need to finish this.
*But just as were halfway up the monster when it turned to us with eyes flashing*
King Sonic: Oh crud . . .!
*Then it shot a blast of lighting at us, knocking us away*
King Sonic & Daniel: NO!
*Suddenly, three streaks zoomed past us. One blue, one pink, & one orange*
Daniel: . . . Who . . .?
*The steaks shot at the monster, going through it's head. They were revealed to be the twins & Maria*
Manik: We did it!
Sonia: We saved the day!
Maria: Yeah!
*The monster collapsed in a flood of water. Lara activated her Chaos powers*
Lara-Su: The servers are the seven Chaos. Chaos is power enriched by the heart. The server exists to unify the Chaos. You never wanted to cause harm. You've suffered enough today. Rest, dear friend.
*Tikhaos turned back to normal, looking very weak*
King Sonic: Nicely done, Guardian.
Lara-Su: Thank you, Your Majesty.
*We looked up & saw Silver floating down with Maria & the twins*
Daniel: And thank you, Silver, for catching my sister and the twins.
Silver: Barley. They were traveling pretty fast.
Sonia: Boy were were ever!
Manik: Let's do it again!
Maria: Again! Again!
(Abigail's POV)
*Sally & I caught up with everyone*
Abigail: No, Maria.
King Sonic: And thanks goes to you guys as well. You came through at a moment's notice and loved up to the title of "Freedom Fighters."
Tails: Just like old times, eh?
King Sonic: Yeah, except I don't remember my back hurting like this back then.
*I turned to Silver*
Daniel: So what do you think? Crisis averted?
Silver: For now, yes. At least from thus time period. *he turned to Sonic* I don't suppose you ever recall someone within the Freedom Fighters turning on the team?
King Sonic: No. Then again, if time traveling's taught me anything, it's that rarely is anything clear. My own place in this timeline is sketchy to be honest.
*They both shook hands*
Silver: I understand. I must return to the future. I leave this present in your hands.
King Sonic: We'll keep things safe, Silver.
*Silver took out a yellow gemstone*
Silver: Chronos Control!
*He disappeared in a flash of light. Then Sally took his arm & I hugged my kids*
Queen Sally: That's an awfully big promise there, King Hedgehog.
Abigail: It better not be one you can't keep.
King Sonic: Yeah, well, I think we proved we're up to it.
Queen Sally: Should we tell Knuckles the Chaotix are out of a job?
Tails: No, Your Majesty. They just have another team they can count on.
*Mina looked ready to cry tears of pride*
King Sonic: The new Freedom Fighters are ready for action!
(Extra - Daniel's POV)
*I walked through down a hallway in Castle Mobius, feeling really happy for some reason. Then I came across my family. I hugged Aunt Sally, did a fist-bump with Uncle Sonic, ruffled the twin's hair, kissed my Mom on the cheek, & tweaked my little sister's nose before I went into my room & closed the doors. Suddenly, I heard a voice that made my blood run cold*
?:*off-screen* Hello, Daniel.
*I slowly turned around & saw . . . My Father, King Shadow, standing in front of the window with a sinister smile on his face*
King Shadow: Did you really think I was gone forever? *I was frozen in place as he came towards me & circled me like a vulture circling it's prey, with a hand on my shoulder* What's the matter, son? Aren't you happy to see your Daddy? *suddenly, green tentacles rose out of the ground. then my room disappeared as Perfect Tikhaos rose up behind him. I tried to summon my Chaos power, but it didn't work. I saw his hand glowing, meaning he had cancelled out my powers* You can no longer deny it, boy! You are my son and you will never escape me! Daniel!
*I woke up with a scream. I looked around & saw that I was in my room at the hotel we were staying at until the castle was repaired. Then my Mom came in, wearing a purple bathrobe*
Abigail: Danny, what's wrong?
*I looked at her, shaking everywhere*
Daniel: M - Mom. I saw . . . H - him.
*Her eyes went wide, knowing who I was talking about. She sat on my bed & hugged me*
Abigail: Don't worry, darling. I promise he'll never hurt us again.
(Third-Person POV)
*Little did she know that Shadow was watching them from the top of a nearby building*
