(Abigail's POV)

*It's been a few days since we locked Dr. Eggman away in the prison. Today, I was in the marketplace with Lacey, doing some shopping when suddenly, I felt that familiar surge go through me & then images flashed before my eyes*

(Vision - Third-Person POV)

*Fort Acorn. A stronghold standing between Doctor Eggman's new capital and the dangerous radioactive slag. Robotroplis was surrounded by a shield, protecting the world from the toxic air that surrounded the Tails' Dad, Amadeus Prower, was leading the soldiers against an attack coming towards the Fort*

Amadeus: Keep firing! The bows and arrows may have failed us, but with these, he's bound to fall!

*The Royal Guards fired their laser guns at the Iron King, who was making his way towards the Fort. But the lasers just bounced off of his armor*

Iron King: A pitiful effort from pitiful beings with pitiful weapons. *suddenly, he used his strength to destroy the fort with his bare hands**laugh* I am the cliffs and you are the waves! You strike and break against me!

(Reality - Abigail's POV)

*I leaned against a pole as I felt my usual headache come on*

Lacey: Whoa! Easy, girl.

*She looked around at all the Mobians

Male Mobian: Hey, is everything alright?

Abigail: Uh . . . Yeah. Just a migraine. *I turned to Lacey**whispering* I need to go find Sally, now.

Lacey:*whispering* Okay. I'll see you later.

*I nodded & straightened up*

Abigail: Well, I'd better head home to rest.

Lacey: Okay. I'll see you later.

*I walked down the street a bit until I turned a corner & ran down the street, beginning my search for Sally*

(Third-Person POV)

*At another part of the marketplace, Sally was sitting at a table outside a restaurant, talking with Ken*

Sally: . . . And once Sonic was back from outer space, we've more or less been functioning like the old days.

Monkey Khan: I'm honestly amazed, Sally. After all you and your Freedom Fighters have faced, you're together.

Sally: . . . For the most part.

Monkey Khan: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to . . .

Sally: No. It's okay, really. Sonic and I have managed to keep our relationship strong. But that was mostly his doing. I was in a bad place back then and I almost completely ended everything between us. If he hadn't stopped me, who knows where we would be right now. All the credit goes to him for being the bigger person.

Monkey Khan: No.

Sally: What?

Monkey Khan: You've held together a group of friends for over ten years and beaten Robotnik twice. I refuse to believe someone as strong as you couldn't save a love that meaningful.

Sally: Awfully sweet words coming from a hot tempered warrior like you.

Monkey Khan: I'm only saying what I've felt since the day you rescued me.

*Suddenly, Nicole appeared in between them*

Nicole: Sally, I have news from . . . I'm sorry. Was I interrupting something . . .?

Sally: It's all right, Nicole. What's wrong?

*Then Abigail ran up to them*

(Abigail's POV)

Abigail: Sally! I just had another vision!

Sally: Hold that thought, Abby. You were saying, Nicole?

Nicole: I have received word from the soldiers stationed at Fort Acorn that they're under attack by the Iron King.

Sally: Oh, my gosh! Where are - ?

Nicole: I took the initiative and sent Sonic and Tails to rescue Commander Prower and his men. I'm sorry if I overstepped my -

Sally: Not at all, Nicole. Thank you. *then she turned to me* So, what did you see this time, Abby?

Abigail: Actually, Nicole kinda beat me to it.

Sally: Oh. Well, that's a first.

Abigail: Yeah.

*All three of us laughed*

Monkey Khan: I'm sorry, I'm lost. What's going on?

*Nicole made a mini hologram of Fort Acorn appear in her hand*

Nicole: Fort Acorn is a protective barracks built to guard the ruins of Robotroplis from the Eggman Empire.

Monkey Khan: And besides the obvious, what's the problem?

Abigail: Robotroplis is a little more than toxic. Radioactive slag right now. Nicole used her nanites to build an energy converter that both cleans up this mess and provides the city with power.

Monkey Khan: Which means Iron King is out to pollute the region and leave this city defenseless. Now I'm up to speed.

Sally: I'll have Nicole keep tabs on you and rally reinforcements if you need them.

Monkey Khan: Between me and Sonic? This should be a breeze.

Sally: I know. Just keep Sonic from getting too cocky.

*Hearing that, it made a little pit grow in my stomach*

Monkey Khan:*chuckle* I'll see what I can do.

Nicole turned to me*

Nicole: Are you all right, Abby?

Abigail: I don't know, Nicole . . . I've got a lot of thinking to do.

*Later that day, I went to Antoine & Bunnie's house. I needed some advice on something & I knew Bunnie could help. I knocked on the door & Antoine answered it. Luckily, Sally was also there*

Antoine: Welcome, Abigail!

Bunnie: Abby-Girl!

Sally: Hey, Abby.

Abigail: Hey, guys. Hope I'm not interrupting anything?

Bunnie: Shoot-no. Sugar-Twan was about to get us some lunch.

Antoine: But only if you are sure you will be okay without me here to me -

Bunnie: Sugar, for the millionth time, Ah'm fine.

*I herded him into the kitchen*

Antoine: I shall not be delaying, my love.

*Then I sat down on the couch next to Sally*

Abigail: He was there when Dr. Quack said you'd be ready for active duty by next week, right?

Bunnie: He's the sweet, and Ah love him, he . . . He's about to worry me to death! But y'all know ah'm fine, so that ain't why you're here.

Abigail: Heh, I can't get anything past you guys, can I?

Sally: Abby, we may have known you for known you for less than a year, but we can read you like an open book. So, what's up?

Abigail: The truth is . . . I just don't know. What do you think of my relationship with Shadow?

Bunnie: Well, it's pretty obvious to me that you two feel the same way about each other. And considering that love confession he gave you during your birthday party, I'd say that he'd move heaven and Mobius for you.

Abigail: I know. But I feel like we're growing distant. I mean, we're always busy. Either it's fighting against Eggman or just life in general.

Sally: I can relate. I sometimes feel the same way about my relationship with Sonic. We practically spend all of our time fighting villains. So much that it feels like we don't really have time for anything else.

Abigail: I know. And after all this time, even though my heart says so, I still don't know for sure if he's Mr. Right.

Bunnie: That's what datin' is for Sugar. You test the water and see if things click.

Abigail: Shadow and I are part of two separate strike forces trying to overthrow the seat of power that's terrorizing the entire world. We don't really have time to date.

Sally: We never said it was easy, but Bunnie and I know you pretty well. We can tell what type of guy you're into.

Bunnie: Yep It's pretty obvious that like Sally here, you're attracted to the strong protective types. You're self-reliant, Ah think you'd like having someone who can protect you as well as you'd protect them. Ah don't think you've given any, fella the time of day if he couldn't be your friend first.

Sally: And they say opposites attract. You seem to like guys that have a bit of a dark side and a lot of baggage to carry, different from your usual sunny disposition. You always want to help that guy get whatever feelings he's holding in off his chest, be there for him when he needs someone to talk to about his problems, and give him a smile when he really needs it. That said, you're a selfless person, and you like that quality in others. You want somebody as willing to give his all for everyone else as you are

*I wiped away a tear*

Abigail: You guys really do know me.

Bunnie: To a 'T' Sugar. You just follow you li'l ol' heart, and you'll find the way to make it work.

*I pulled both girls into a hug*

Sally: You just gotta be brave enough to make the first move. Boys can be dense about that sort of thing.

Abigail: Thank you, girls. I think I know what I'll do.

*Later that day, Sonic & Ken came back. They told us that Sonic has tricked the Iron King into attacking a fake Power Siphon, so we can make the city more secure for the next attack. That made us all laugh at how gullible he was*

Sonic: So, mission accomplished, Sal. Where's Tails.

Sally: He's with Amadeus, checking on the wounded. Nicole filled my in on your plan. Nice work, you two.

Monkey Khan: Credit goes to Sonic for the quick thinking.

*He & Sonic did a fist-bump*

Sonic: It wouldn't have worked without your ever-so-punchable face, M.K.

Monkey Khan: Oh, stop.

Sonic: I mean it!

Monkey Khan: I know. I do too.

*Then Sally put her arm around Sonic's*

Sally: Come on, Sonic. Let's go to Uncle Chuck's to celebrate. Also, there's something I want us to talk about.

Sonic: O - Okay.

*They walked away. Ken watched them, looking very defeated. Just then, Amy came up to him*

Amy: Hey. I heard you just got back from your mission with Sonic. *she put her arm around his* Want to tell me all about it over dinner? My treat.

*Ken looked back at Sonic & Sally then smiled a bit*

Monkey Khan: Sure. That sounds lovely.

Amy: Great.

*She led him away. I watched both couples walk away with smiles. Than I ran off to do something I needed to do.

*I made my way to Freedom HQ*

Abigail: Nicole? Are you there?

*She appeared on the big computer screen*

Nicole: Yes, Abby. What can I do for you?

Abigail: Can you help me make a call? I need to get in touch with G.U.N.

Nicole:*giggle* Oh, of course.

*She disappeared & I waited a few seconds until someone answered. To my delight, Shadow picked up*

Shadow: This is a private military line. If this isn't a life-threatening emergency, I suggest you - *he stopped as soon as he saw me* Oh, Abby. I didn't realize it was you.

Abigail: Hi, Shadow. Listen. There's something I want to talk to you about.
