(Lacey's POV)
*It's been 2 weeks since we defeated the Iron Dominion. Yesterday, Abby, Sonic, & Sally left to visit the Wolf Pack Nation, Tails took Bunnie & Antoine a place called Cocoa Island for their honeymoon, and Rotor was busy with repairs to the Sky Patrol. Today, I was in the Great Forest with Amy, Cream, Cheese, & Vanilla, having a picnic*
Lacey: Thank you for inviting me on to your picnic, Amy.
Amy: No problem. I wasn't going to let you be alone while Abby's away.
Cream: That's right. Everything's always better with friends.
Cheese: Chao-Chao!
Vanilla: I'm just glad to finally have some peace and quiet after so long.
Lacey: Me too. These past few months have been crazy.
*Suddenly, Amy's holographic wristwatch started beeping. She answered it & a mini-hologram of Nicole appeared*
Amy: What's up, Nicole?
Nicole: No emergency, Amy. I didn't mean to interrupt your picnic. It's just I've been studying a strange energy signal the past few days. Despite this, I still cannot pinpoint it's location.
Amy: Weird. Want me to check it out?
Nicole: That would be a big help. Thank you.
Amy: Of course. Over and out. *Nicole disappeared* I'm sorry to cut out picnic short, but I've got a mystery to investigate!
Cream: Oh! May I go along? Please!?
Cheese: Chao-Chao!
Vanilla: Well . . .
Amy: It'll just be a quick trot out in the forest, and I won't mind the company!
Vanilla: All right, then. As long as it's no trouble.
*Cream & Cheese cheered*
Lacey: Mind if I come too? I wouldn't mind a little excited today.
Amy: Sure. The more the merrier.
*We packed up the picnic. Vanilla took the picnic basket & started to head for home while we headed into the forest*
Vanilla: Stay with Ms. Rose and Ms. Lacey and try not to get mussed up.
Cream: We'll be good!
Cheese: Chao!
Cream: How delightful! We're off on another adventure! I wonder where we're going!
Amy: Who knows. But I guess that's the thrill of adventure.
Lacey: We'll also be going to where that energy signature is.
Amy: Right. *she looked her at her holographic wristwatch* So, Nicole. Where did you find the signal?
Nicole:*off-screen* Somewhere on the outskirts of the Great Forest, but I can't pinpoint exactly where.
Amy: It's okay. We'll just keeping looking until . . .
Cheese: Chao-Chao!
Lacey: Huh? I don't speak "Chao."
Cream: Cheese says he sees something up ahead. Look!
*There was a flash of light a few meters away from us. We all ran towards it*
Amy: If that's the weird thing Nicole was talking about, it's a lot closer than she thought. Good eye, Cheese! And this rate, we'll be back before -
*Suddenly, a stream of fire blocked out path*
Lacey & Amy: YOW!
*We looked to the right & saw a female lavender cat with flaming hands*
Blaze: If you're hunting for Sol Emeralds as well, I suggest you back off. Now.
Amy: Who do you think you are, showing up out of nowhere and throwing fire like that!?
Lacey: Wait. Are you -
Cream: Um . . . Ms. Rose? Maybe you could be more civil? She does seem to have fire powers after all . . .
Amy: Yeah? Well, I gave a hammer!
*She summoned her hammer*
Blaze: I gave you a fair warning. Trust me. You don't want to do this.
Amy: You're ignoring my questions and you nearly burned my eyelashes off! So, yeah, I want to do this!
Cream: Ms. Rose? Ms. Fire-Cat-Lady? If you would just take a moment to - *the cat shot a blast of fire as the fight began* Or not.
*I pulled her & Cheese towards some buses, which we hid behind*
Lacey: Let's let them blow off some steam first before we try and stop them.
Amy: Is fire all you've got? I bring more gear than that!
Blaze: You will need more than a big hammer and big words to stop me!
*While the two of them were fighting Cream Cheese, & I went to check out the shiny thing we saw*
Amy: Yeah - Well - You - Argh! How does Sonic keep up all this mid-battle banter!?
Blaze: Sonic!? Sonic the Hedgehog? Hero of Mobius?
Amy: How do you know Sonic?
Cream: Excuse me, please! *they turned to us. Cheese was holding a brown glass bottle* Since you've taken a break from fighting, I would like to point out that the shiny thing we saw was this. You can go back to fighting now if you like.
Amy: Oh . . . That's not . . . So we were . . . My bad.
Blaze: Fighting over garbage . . . How humiliating . . .
Lacey: It's okay. We all make mistakes.
Blaze: I suppose. In any case, I apologize for my behavior and for troubling you. Good day.
*She started to walk away, but Cream went after her*
Cream: You seem very upset, ma'am. Maybe we can help you?
Blaze: That's not necessary. Good. Day.
Amy: Wait! I'm a Freedom Fighter! All I do is help people! You could at least tell me how you know Sonic!
Blaze: . . . Sonic once came to my Zone and assisted me in my search for the Sol Emeralds.
Amy: Wait! Fire powers! Sol Emeralds! You're Blaze! Sonic told me about you!
Blaze: And you're just now making the connection? Or were you too busy waving your hammer around to think?
Amy: I've seen a lot of weird stuff in my time, okay. You don't stand out that much.
Lacey: Abby told me about you too.
Blaze You know Abigail?
Lacey: Yep. Pretty much all my life.
Blaze: I see. Anyway, with Sonic's help, *she held out her hand & a white gem, shaped like a rectangle, appeared* . . . With Sonic's help, I recovered one of the Sol Emeralds. And with it's power, I've been slowly tracking the rest, across my world and others.
Lacey, Amy, & Cream: Oooooh!
*Then we all bowed & curtsied to her*
Amy: Well, I'm Amy Rose of the Freedom Fighters and Sonic's future sweetheart!
Cream: How do you do? My name is Cream and this is my friend, Cheese
Cheese: Chao!
Lacey: And I'm Lacey Rabbit. Abigail's childhood friend.
Cream: Although, isn't it a bit presumptuous to claim Mr. Sonic like that?
Amy: He knows how I feel and how we're meant to be!
Cream: I'm pretty sure he's dating Princess Sally.
Amy: Cream? Drop it. *I rolled my eyes. I gotta admit, she's determined. then she looked at her watch* All right! We're all introduced, so let's find that Sol Emerald for you!
Blaze: We were viciously fighting a minute ago! Now you want to help me?
Amy: If you're cool with Sonic, you're cool with us! C'mon team! Before someone beats us to it! So let's see . . .
*Cream & I each took Blaze's hands & pulled her along*
Cream: This way, Ms. Blaze!
Cheese: Chao-Chao!
Lacey: Come on. It'll be fun.
*We went deeper into the Great Forest*
Amy: Make up your mind, Nicole. Are we getting closer or not?
Nicole: It's difficult to say. One moment the signal is strong, the next it's almost gone completely!
*We turned to Blaze, who had her Sol Emerald out*
Amy: Hey, Blaze! What does your gem . . . Er . . . Say?*she closed her hand, making the Emerald disappear* Which parts of "we're trying to help" and "we're a team" did you miss?
Blaze: My trust is not so easily won!
Cream: But we're the good guys! We promise!
Lacey: All right, all right. Let's just calm down and try to come up with a plan.
?:*off-screen* She's right to be cautious, though.
*We looked up a tree we were standing in front of & saw Rouge the Bat. Shadow's partner*
Rouge: There's all sorts of nasty people in the world.
Amy: ROUGE!
*She glided down from the tree & landed in front of us*
Rouge: At your service!
Amy: Yeah, right. You only care about getting what you want!
Rouge: And what I want is to help you girls find the Sol Emeralds!
Amy: A-ha! You were spying on us!
*Rouge took off the eye-scanner she was wearing*
Rouge: Not at all. I'm following the same odd readings your team is after! That, and it doesn't take much spying when anyone within a hundred feet can hear you. "Have you found the Sol Emerald yet?" "How about now?"
Lacey: I guess we should have been more discreet.
*Amy got really angry*
Amy: Cream? Stand back for a minute.
Cream: Let's now fight again, Ms. Rose! Is it really so hard to believe Ms. Rouge is here to help?
Amy: Yes.
Rouge: Oh, please. I'm plenty trustworthy.
Amy: No way! You're a spy!
Rouge: A spy for G.U.N. Your ally. Remember?
Lacey: She does have a point.
*Amy ignored me*
Amy: You're as shady as they come!
Rouge: No worse than Fiona, and you let her on your team!
Amy: I - but - You!
Rouge: Oh, don't give up! You're doing so well!
Blaze: ENOUGH! I don't care who any of you are! Either be if assistance or get out of my way!
Rouge: Yes, ma'am! Way to take command!
*Amy looked at Rough with a look that could kill*
Cream: . . . Don't care . . .?
*I put my hand on her shoulder*
Lacey: Don't take it personally. She's probably just under a lot of stress right now.
Cream: I guess . . .
Rouge:*to Blaze* So, what makes this "Sol Emerald" so important?
Blaze: It keeps my world alive.
Rouge: Ah.
*Rouge took a little conflicted, which set off warning bells in my head. Soon, we came to a giant ravine with a big tree over it, like a bridge, & roots that seemed to be twisting around each other unnaturally. I could hear all the wood creaking, which made me a little nervous. Rouge put her eye-scanner back on*
Rouge: Whoo! Energy spike! This has got to be the place!
Amy: Nicole?
Nicole:*off-screen* Agreed. Whatever we are tracking is at the bottom of the ravine.
Cream: That tree looks awfully old . . . And brittle . . .
Lacey: I know. Better stay away from it.
Rouge: I'll spare your team the danger and go alone. I won't be long.
Blaze: No. I would much rather retrieve it myself, thank you.
Rouge: That works too. Ill fly you down.
Amy: You do that. I wanted to go with Cream anyway.
Cream: Really?
Lacey: Well, I'll go with Rouge. No sense in Cream carrying both of us.
Amy: Yeah. I guess.
*Blaze & I held on to Rouge's hands as she flew us down to ravine. Amy held on to Cream's hands as she flew down. Cheese was next to her. Suddenly, a branch broke off the fallen tree & it fell right towards us.
Cheese: Chao - o . . . Chao Chao-Chao!
Cream: Cheese, no! You can't stop it on your own! *she was right. he bounced off the branch like a rubber ball* M - Ms. Rose . . .?
*Amy summoned her hammer*
Amy: We can do this, Cream! On "three" you swing me up and I'll -
*Suddenly, Rouge flew towards the branch, still holding on to me & Blaze, & let go of her. Then she used her fire powers to burn the branch. Then Rouge & I destroyed it with Rouge's screw kick & my powerful kick*
Cream: Wow.
*We all landed on the bottom of the ravine*
Rouge: Nice work there, ladies.
Amy: I'll say!
Blaze: . . . Thank you.
Lacey: It was nothing.
Cream: And you were just as brave, Cheese!
Cheese: Chao!
Blaze: Wait . . . How did you know I was a Princess?
Rouge: Oh, I have my sources.
Blaze: What spices?
*Rouge looked at her eye-scanner*
Rouge: Wow! Look at the energy signature!
Nicole:*off-screen* She's right. It's just ahead of us!
*We looked in a cave that seemed to be made of roots. In the middle was a metal capsule with a light blue Sol Emerald in it*
Blaze: There it is!
Nicole:*off-screen* That object around the Emerald seems to be trying to mask the energy signature.
Amy: That explains all the weird readings.
Lacey: No kidding.
*Blaze shook Cream's hand & mine*
Blaze: I . . . I'm sorry I was so distrustful of you before. You have my sincerest thanks.
Cream: You're more than welcome! We were happy to help!
Lacey: That's right.
*Amy shook hands with Rouge*
Amy: And I'm sorry-for-doubting-you. Thanks.
Rouge: Aw, that's big of you. But don't feel too bad . . . Since I'll be taking the Emerald after all!
Lacey: What!?
Amy: Wait, wh - *Rouge threw her away* Aunk!
*Then Rouge flew towards the gem & picked it up, while I went to help Amy*
Rouge: Oh, you're gorgeous! I just might keep you all to myself.
*Blaze looked ready to burn her to a crisp, but Amy, Cream, Cheese, & I got in front of her*
Amy: I knew it! You give that to Blaze right now!
Cream:*gasp* That belongs to her! Taking it wouldn't be stealing!
Lacey: So drop it or else!
Rouge: Little girl, you say that like I care. If you want it so bad . . . *she kicked the metal capsule at us* Come and get it!
*Cheese blocked it in time*
Cream: How can you be so rude and discourteous to - !?
*Rouge flew past her*
Rouge: You're young. You'll learn.
*Amy swung her hammer to block her from escaping*
Amy: STOP!
Rouge: You've actually got some talent, honey! *I jumped in to grab her, but she spun like a top, knocking away both of us* So I don't feel bad not pulling my punches!
Amy & Lacey: OW!
Rouge: It's been fun, girls! Ta-ta!
*Suddenly, a streak of fire blocked her from flying away. Blaze was the source*
Blaze: I will give you this one chance. Give me the Sol Emerald and you leave alive.
Rouge: Oh! If only there were some big, strong men around to back up poor defenseless little me!
*Suddenly, there was a big explosion above us*
Blaze: What!?
*Two figures landed behind Rouge. They were revealed to be Shadow & Omega*
Rouge: How about this, sweetie? You go on home and leave the Emerald to me! Otherwise, well . . . I don't know if I can restrain these two! What do you say?
