Changing Tempo
Note: I'm skipping Issues 215 - 220, because I couldn't find a way to put my character into the stories. Also in my version, Rotor's nanite suit doesn't exist. Also, I made a few changes to "Consequences". I know you'll like them.

(Abigail's POV)
*It's been a few weeks since we got back from the Wolf Pack Nation, & it's just been one thing after another. Once we got back home, we got a call from Guntiver the Wolf from the Artic Freedom Fighters saying that Rotor's family along with his whole village, had been brainwashed by GrandMaster Akhlut into building some kind of refueling station. So Sonic & Rotor went to the Artic to help them. While they were there, they ran into Silver, who was accusing Rotor of being a traitor for some reason. A week after that, we got a call for aid from a group of Freedom Fighters called the Sand Blasters (Who, as Sonic described them, were just a bunch of jerks & bullies. How a group like that became Freedom Fighters is beyond me). Sonic & Bunnie went to go check it out. But when they got there, Bunnie's cybernetics short circuted & they got separated. Sonic ended up in Sand Blast City & Bunnie ended up in a Dark Egg Legion camp. I was shocked to learn that Barron Beauregard was Bunnie's long lost Uncle (I remembered him from the meeting I went to with Mordred. He kept looking at me with pity in his eyes). Each side had two a different sides to a story. Jack Rabbit, the leader of The Sand Blasters, said that he & his team look some Robians in after they all turned back to nomal, but they willingly ran back to Eggman to be Legionized. But the Barron said that after they all turned back to normal, they tried to go back to Sand Blast City. But Jack & his Sand Blasters treated them worse than slaves, saying "Once a Robian, always a Robian" & eventually chased they them away & into the Badlands. They then had no choice but to ask Eggman for an edge. We don't know which side is true, but I'm leaning towards the Barron's side of the story. Anyway, he & his Legionars were building something called an Oil Ocean Refinery (I'm a little scared to think about what Eggman needs that much oil for). Sonic & Bunnie fought each other, until they realized that they can't let either group have the refinery, so they they decided to destroy it, while making it look like they were still fighting. The Sand Blasters eventually caught on & moved in. The Barron & his Dark Egg Legion went in after them. When the battle was over, Bunnie & her Uncle parted away, not as Uncle & Niece, but as GrandMaster & Freedom Fighter. I felt really sad for Bunnie. I couldn't bear fighting a member of my own family. A few days after they came home, Sonic & Geoffrey St. John were summoned by the King. They were sent on a mission to retrieve a Chaos Emerald that Nicole had detected. While they were gone, Mina asked me to come to Freedom HQ. Turns out, her experience being trapped by the Iron Dominion had been giving her nightmares, mostly about Phage. But it's not just her, everyone in New Mobotropolis as been on edge since we defeated the Iron Dominion. So, I suggested we put on a concert & use a song I wrote myself to take everyone's mind off the Iron Dominion. When Sonic came back, he had some shocking news. Geoffrey shot him in the back & took the Chaos Emerald for himself. He had betrayed us. 3 weeks later, the night of the concert arrived & me & Mina were ready to perform our new song & hopefully give everyone hope again*
*Third-Person POV)
*Sonic & Sally walked through through a crowd of Mobians, who had all gathered in the New Mobotropolis Coliseum for the concert*
Sonic: Would you relax? We're here to have some fun!
Sally: Uh huh . . . Sonic, Geoffrey betrayed us and shot you in the back! Relaxation has been difficult lately.
Sonic: Eh, details Sal. You are coming to this concert . . . And you're gonna like it. Even if Mina isn't your favorite.
Sally: What!? I got both her albums at launch. Why would you think that?
Sonic: 'Cause when Mina first started getting big, pretty much any time I bought her up, you got all quiet and stuff.
*Sally blushed in embarrassment*
Sally: Oh, that, I . . . I thought she was trying to date you, and I got jealous.
Sonic: You . . . Wait, what? So all that awkwardness and time apart . . . *he put an arm around her shoulder* See, Sal. This is why we should do this "talking" thing more. We could've saved ourselves a lot of angst.
Sally: I know, I know. I don't handle confrontations well.
Sonic: Unless they involve killer robots and blasters and such.
Sally: Well, of course. That's all easy.
Sonic: So . . . We've been hanging out a whole lot lately . . .
Sally: Yes. And?
Sonic: Should Shadow & I be worried about Fuzzy Khan trying to club either of us with his lightning rod in a jealous rage?
Sally: Ken is busy rebuilding his homeland. Besides, we already talked . . . *she put her arm around his* And Abby already told him how she feels. So neither of you have to worry.
Sonic: Right. 'Cause "being reckless" is my thing. You're the sensible one.
Nicole:*off-screen* Does that make my function the "Third Wheel" tonight?
*They turned around & saw Nicole, wearing a purple hat, a purple tank top, & blue shorts. Sally ran up to her & hugged her*
Sally: Of course not! I'm glad you decided to come!
Sonic: Me too. Because who wanted a date tonight, anyway? Dig the new look, by the way. High poly-gon count, right?
Nicole: Yes. Lacey helped me create it for the concert. I just hope tonight goes well. It's just been one thing after another these past few months and I've been hearing screams at night from the nightmares the people have been having.
Sally: Between the Iron Dominion and almost losing Knotehole, the citizens are rightfully jumpy. But don't worry, they'll calm down eventually.
Sonic: Exactly. Tonight we're going to kick back, enjoy the show, and not worry about stuff like politics, or Eggman missing, or what happened to Geoffrey St. Jerk.
(Abigail's POV)
*I was sitting in a trailer with Mina, her band, & Ash*
Mina: All right, guys! This is it! We're going to go out there and lift everyone's spirits! We're going to make everyone smile and forgot their troubles! Tonight, we do more than vamp our sound! Tonight, we make a difference! Are you ready!?
Max the Monkey: Yeah!
Mach the Rabbit: Yeah! Yeah - yeah - yeah!
Sharps the Chicken: Yeah!
Abigail: Let's do it to it!
Mina: All right, guys! Take the stage! *the boys left the trailer. I was about to follow them, when I noticed Mina looking a little sick* I'm gonna throw up. What if they hate it?
Ash: They won't. They'll love it, and they love you! Get out there, babe and blow them away.
Abigail: Yeah! Let's give them a performance to remember.
*I took her hand & led her to the stage*
(Third-Person POV)
*The crowd chanted Mina's name as she stepped on to the stage. They were a little surprised to see Abigail next to her, but they quickly got over it*
Mina: Good evening, New Mobotropolis! You know me, you know the band, and you know our honorary member, Abby! *the crowd cheered as Abigail waved to the crowd* But you don't know the treat you're in for!
Abigail: No need to start off gently! These people can take it! Hit it, Sharps!
*Sharps started off with a few loud cords from his bass*
Nicole: Whoa!
Sally: That's not "Old Mina"!
Sonic: It's not, and it rocks! WHOO!
*Abigail singing*

*Sonic, Sally, & Nicole smiled at each other as the crowd chanted with Abigail*
Sonic: That's our girl.
Sally: Yep.
*Nicole just wiped a happy tear from her eye*
(Abigail's POV)
*Me, Ash, & the Forget-Me-Nots made our way back to the trailer as two rows of royal guards make a path for us through a crowd of fans*
Mina: Thank you! Thank you! Good night, everybody! Thanks for coming out!
Abigail: We're glad you all liked our new song!
Ash: What did I tell you, Babe!? You were great! They ate it up! A couple more shows here, and then we'll hit the road to the big time! *he looked at me* That is, if our "Honorary Member" would like to become a "Full-time Member"?
*I gave him a teasing look*
Abigail: I think you already know the answer to that, Ash.
Ash: Can't blame a guy for trying.
*I then noticed my friends & family in the crowd. They all looked proud. I gave them a smile & a thumbs-up*
(Third-Person POV)
*Meanwhile, in the upper section of the Coliseum, Ixis Naugus & Geoffrey St. John were watching the whole thing*
Geoffrey St. John: Well, this has been a waste of time.
Ixis Naugus: On the contrary, this works just fine.
*Geoffrey looked confused*
Geoffrey St. John: What do you mean?
Ixis Naugus: Even if it is small, there is still fear in the air. Just enough for my spell to work. *his new staff (with the purple Chaos Emerald on the top) started to glow* It may take a few days, but when my spell is finished, they'll be crying out for a new hero!
