(Abigail's POV)
*It's been a few days since the concert. Today, me, Huck, & Sally were visiting Ken in Stormtop Village*
Monkey Khan: . . . And aside from the usual Yagyu raids, things have been going well.
Sally: The other clans have been cooperating?
Monkey Khan: Oh, they're still bickering and posturing and Blah, Blah, Blah!
*Huck & I giggled*
Sally: Politics are never easy.
Monkey Khan: Yeah, yeah, but the Free People are living in peace, so I can't really complain.
*We passed by a well being guarded by a brown male rabbit with black hair & blue eyes wearing a black & red uniform & holding a spear*
Abigail: And the Iron Witch?
Huck: Chao-Chao?
Monkey Khan: Obnoxious. But she's not going anywhere. But you two didn't come here just to check up on the Dragon Kingdom.
Sally: I . . . Well . . . I do care . . . It's just . . . *she started twirling a Warp Ring on one of her fingers* Things are . . . A little tense back home. People are nervous about when the city will be attacked next. Eggman is still missing. And then someone we thought we trusted . . .
Monkey Khan: Nuh-uh. You don't run run from challenges like that, what is it really?
*Sally & I both gave him a smile*
Sally: Abby & I have a double date with Sonic & Abby's boyfriend.
Monkey Khan: There we go. You tell me these things. Isn't this exactly what you wanted?
Sally: It is. I think it is. I'm just worried about wrecking things. Everything was so easy before . . . Before I almost messed it all up . . . So much has happened since the almost break up . . . I'm not sure we're the same people we once were . . .
Monkey Khan: It's you. It'll be fine. And if you need to talk. I'm here.
*I put my arm around Sally's shoulders*
Abigail: And don't forget about me & Huck will always be there for you.
Huck: Chao-Chao!
Sally: Thanks guys. I just need to chill out for a bit . . .
Monkey Khan: You two did take into account we're on the other side of the world, right? It's got a be late afternoon over there.
*Sally & I both started to panic as she activated the Warp Ring*
Sally: Oh, my gosh! I can't believe I - ! Thanks for listening, Ken! I've got to - !
Monkey Khan: I know . . . See you later, girls.
*Sally went through first*
Sally:*off-screen* Sorry! I'll see you -
Sonic & Sally:*off-screen* OOF!
*I went through & found Sonic & Sally sprawled out on the ground with a blue gold flag on the ground next to them*
Abigail: Oh my gosh! Are you two okay!?
Huck: Chao-Chao!?
Sonic: Yeah, I'm good.
Sally: I'm fine.
*Sonic helped Sally to her feet*
Sonic: Sorry, Sal. Didn't see you there.
Sally: No, I'm sorry, I . . . Might be a little late tonight.
Sonic: S'cool.
Sally: Thanks. *Tails landed on the ground next to us* Hi, Tails. I've got to run!
*She ran towards the castle*
Sonic: . . . I totally lost track of time.
Tails: I told you so.
*Huck & I giggled*
Abigail: Well, I gotta get home and get ready too. I'll see you later, Sonic!
Sonic: See ya!
*When I got home, I ran up to my room & started tearing through my wardrobe*
Abigail: What should I do!? What should I wear!?
*Just then, my Mom came into the room*
Laura: Abby? Is everything alright?
Abigail: No! I'm meeting Sonic, Sally, & Shadow in an hour for a double date, and I have no idea what to wear! Is it a serious date or a casual!? Should I wearing a dress or jeans!? Where are we even going!? Am I even going to be ready in case -
*Suddenly, Mom covered my mouth*
Laura: Stop! Take a deep breath. *I took a deep breath* Now let it out slow. *I did as she asked* Feel better?
Abigail: Yeah. Thanks. I needed that.
Laura: Glad to hear it. Now, let's talk. *we sat down on my bed* So, you and Shadow are on a double date with Sonic and Sally?
Abigail: Yeah. It was Sally's idea. Since none of us have been able to go on a date since we defeated the Iron Dominion, she thought we all deserved a bit of fun. It's just been one this after another these past few weeks.
Laura: And you're both worried that you might be a little out of touch because it's been so long, right?
Abigail: Yeah. A little.
*Mom gave me a small smile*
Laura: Sweetie, have I ever told you the story of my first date with your Father?
Abigail: No.
Laura: Well, we were not much older than you when he asked me out for the first time. He had asked me to the annual village harvest festival. I was so nervous. I had no idea what to wear and I was so afraid that I was going to fall down during the dance or step on one of your Father's toes. Eventually, your Grandmother help me pick out a dress. When I got to the festival, everything was going smoothly. That is until the dance. Turns out, your Father was just as nervous about the dance as I was. We were both trying so hard not to step on each other's feet. Just then, we both tripped over our own feet & fell into the fountain. We were both soaked & embarrassed. But we just laughed it off. After that, we went to my house and spend the rest of the night sitting by the fireplace. Wrapped in blankets and drinking hot chocolate.
*I giggled*
Abigail: Wow. If that was me, I probably would have done the same thing.
Laura: And that's exactly what you should do.
Abigail: Wait, are you saying I should -
Laura: Honey, what I'm saying is to just be yourself. Be the the same brave, kind, & spunky girl Shadow fell in love with.
*I smiled & hugged my Mom, who hugged me back*
Abigail: Thanks, Mom. You're the best.
Laura: I know. *suddenly, we heard doorbell ring* I think I know who that is.
*I kissed her cheek, stood up, & walked towards the door*
Abigail: Bye Mom. And thanks again.
*A few minutes later, Shadow & I met Sonic & Sally in front of the castle*
Sally: Sorry for the delay!
Sonic: Aw, don't worry about it. Ready for dinner?
Sally: Sure. Chuck's Diner sound good to you.
Sonic: Normally, yeah. I was going to suggest that until Shadow told me he got us reservations at Creme De La Creme.
*Sally looked at Shadow*
Sally: Wow. That's the best restaurant in the city. Its nearly impossible to get a reservation there.
Shadow: Well, nothing but the best for my Angel.
Abigail: Aw, you're such sweetheart. *in her mind* Oh man! This is a serious date! I blew it big time! *I then remembered what Mom said & shook my head* No! No! I just need to be myself. The same girl Shadow fell in love with. Everything will be fine.
*We soon arrived at the restaurant*
Shadow: Reservation for four. Under "Shadow". With instructions that my, Ahem!, "friends" get their own table.
Waiter: Ah, yes. Right this way.
*He led us inside & sat me & Shadow down at a table for two & sat Sonic & Sally down at the table next to us. I noticed Mina & Ash & waved at them. They waved back. We then ordered our dinner, but I had a hard time enjoying it. I could feel people staring at us, mostly at me & Shadow. Some them looked a little scared*
Customer #1:*whispering* What's a creation by Dr. Eggman doing here?
Customer #2:*whispering* Wasn't he created by Eggman's Grandfather?
Customer #1:*whispering* Same name. Same twisted mind.
Customer #3:*whispering* I can't believe the Freedom Fighters would allow that abomination in our city.
Customer #4:*whispering* Who knows what our so-called "protectors" are thinking these days.
Customer #5:*whispering* What I can't believe is that Abby is still dating him.
Customer #6:*whispering* If you ask me, she would be better off with that childhood friend of her's. What's his name again? Zeke?
*I flinched when I heard that. I was about to stand up & give that guy a piece of my mind, but Shadow grabbed my wrist*
Shadow: It's okay. I'm used to it.
*I sat back down & tried to finish my food, but it was hard with all the eyes staring at us & the whispers all around us. As soon as we all finished eating, Sonic stood up & left some money on the table he & Sally shared*
Sonic: Suddenly I've lost my appetite. Do you guys want to . . .
Sally: Yes, please.
Abigail: Sounds like a plan.
*Shadow got up & put down some money as well*
Shadow: No argument here. *he turned to the waiter that served us, who flinched* Keep the change.
*We just barley made it out the door, when a different waiter & 2 of the customers chased after us*
Waiter: Hey! Wait! I have a few questions!
Male Bear: Hey! I was here first!
Sonic: Look! Guys! Could you just - !
*Shadow looked ready to launch a Chaos Spear at them. I was about to stop him, when suddenly, Amy came flying in & slammed her hammer on the ground between us & the
Amy: GIVE IT A REST!*she turned to us with a smile* You guys go on and have a lovely evening. I'll cover you.
Sonic: Sweet! You're the best!
Sally: Thank you, Amy.
Abigail: I owe you one.
*Shadow just have her an over the shoulder smile as we walked towards the park*
Waiter: But . . .
(Third-Person POV)
*Amy raised her hammer again*
Amy: Listen up! Those four have done more for you and this city than anyone else! They get to have one night of peace and quiet!
Male Beaver: But aren't you Amy Rose? The chick who's always after Sonic? Uh . . .
*He suddenly got nervous, thinking that he maybe should have kept his mouth shut. But Amy just put her hammer down & looked in the direction Sonic had walked away in*
Amy: Sonic'll be mine one day. Until then, I just want him to be happy. And right now, Sally makes him happy.
(Abigail's POV)
*When we got to the park, we all decided to walk along side the lake, but we went our separate ways. Me & Shadow on one side & Sonic & Sally on the other. Fireflies flew around us as we walked*

Abigail: What a beautiful night. I wish it would never end.
Shadow: Me neither.
*He suddenly got quiet for a few minutes*
Abigail: What's wrong?
Shadow: Nothing. It's just . . . I also wish we hadn't come here.
*I suddenly felt a bit of pain in my heart*
Abigail: Why?
Shadow: Because it makes me feel guilty.
Abigail: Guilty?
Shadow: I'm experiencing all the beauty of this world, while Maria will never get the chance.
*I was surprised to hear that. I smiled & pulled him over to a bench. We sat down*
Abigail: Shadow, I know you miss her. But just remember, she's not really gone. Remember what she told you. As long as you hold her in your heart and thoughts, you'll never be apart.
*Shadow looked at me surprised. But then he smiled & pulled me close in a hug*
Shadow: When did you get so clever? I hope I'm as clever as you when I grow up.
Abigail: I get it from my Mom.
*We then shared a kiss*
