(Abigail's POV)

*We all stood in horror as we watched the Death Egg fly above the city. We then ran towards Sonic who was standing next to Naugus*

Sonic: How did we miss it? The Eggdome wasn't just a bunker. He was rebuilding the Death Egg!

Tails: Sonic! Sonic! It - It - It's the -

Sonic: Yeah. Today just keeps getting better doesn't it?

Ixis Naugus:*to Geoffrey* Is it as dire as the Quickster says?

Geoffrey St. John: I was guarding Nigel the first time he launched the Death Egg, so I don't have first-hand experience. All the same, we can't take Robotnik lightly

Amy: Y'know, the timing is a little too perfect. If you're helping Eggman too - !

Geoffrey St. John: Oh, I shoot one bloke in the back and now I'm guilty of everything?

Sally: Naugus, Dr. Robotnik has been in hiding for weeks. If he's making a play this big, he'll have the ability to back it up. For the good of the Kingdom, we're going to have to call a truce for now.

Ixis Naugus: Agreed. I will not let myKingdom fall to that villian!

*He suddenly created a tornado & took off into the air*

Sonic: It's got to be an act. Nobody can naturally be that creepy.

Sally: But he's the got the right idea. We need to stop that thing before Robotnick uses it. Scramble the Sky Patrol and the Tornado! Sonic, Abby, and Tails are with me. Antoine, take Bunnie, Rotor, Amy, and Geoffrey.

Geoffrey St. John: You want meto come along?

Sally: I want you where we can see you. Also, I'm counting on this being dangerous enough to keep you from doing something stupid.

Antoine: And we will be watching our backs.

*Soon, at the King Frederick Airfield, we were all ready for take off. Sally was wearing goggles for the flight & holding her handheld computer. I was sitting in the seat behind Tails (I told Huck to go home & stay with my parents)*

Nicole: Comm-link established, Sally.

Sally: Tornado ready for launch. What's your status, Antoine?

Antoine:*off-screen* We are ready for ze launch and everyone is secured.

*Then, the Tornado & the Sky Patrol took off into the air. When we got close to the Death Egg, it started firing lasers at us. We (including Naugus) all managed to dodge*

Sonic: Y'know, I'll accept that he's back. But I feel really stupid for not figuring out his plan. I mean, we searched all over that stupid place multiple times!

Sally: So if that's the north-facing wall . . . Tails! Bring us around to the back! Aim for anything unusual about twenty degrees down from the top!

Tails: Got it! *he scanned the Death Egg, until . . .* I think I see something!

*He fired a missile & it hit a patch on the side, creating a opening*

Abigail: How did you know to - ?

Sally: I figured he would patch our entry point at the last second to maintain his chararde. Sonic, Abby, and I are going ahead. Have the others do everything they can to draw attention away from us!

Tails: Roger that?

*Sonic then picked up Sally bridal style & I latched on to his back*

Sonic: Are you sure you want me to risk this? I don't wanna get slapped around again.

Sally: Oh, shut up and kiss me for luck.

*I closed my eyes as they kissed & we jumped through the hole in the side. Sonic used his foot to stop us before we crashed into the wall*

Abigail: So, where do we go from here?

Sally:*looking at her handheld computer* I'm not sure. Robotnik hid the lower decks from us perfectly. We also have a consider the hallways we searched before as just as decoys . . .

*Suddenly, a red spider robot closed up the hole with a big metal plate*

Sonic: Looks like the Doc insists we stay for dinner.

Sally: And it cuts us off from any chance at back-up. We're on our own.

*We started walking down the hallway & I kept my hands on my swords*

Sonic: Or I could, y'know, smash that robot. It's kinda my thing.

Sally: No. This is classic Robotnik egotistism. He's inviting us into his trap, and we'll use that to our advantage. We don't know exactly what he's up to yet. Anything, Nicole?

Nicole: Just as before, Sally - nothing.

Sally: And . . . How are you holding up?

Nicole: I would prefer to focus on the mission right now.

Sally: I understand. We'll talk once this is . . . EEP!

*Suddenly, the wall in front of us opens, revealing a secret elevator*

Sonic: Oh, this is adding insult to injury. I searched this hallway how many times, and this stupid elevator was here all along?

Sally: Focus, Sonic. Be ready for anything.

*We rode the elevator until it stopped. We stepped out & found ourselves in a room with a giant egg in the middle*

Abigail: What the heck is all this stuff?

Sonic: It's Eggman. Does he really need a reason?

Dr. Eggman:*through the speakers* Welcome! Welcome! It feels like it's been ages since our last get together!

Sonic: I'll admit, I miss kicking your wide butt. Very easy on the ol' sneakers.

Dr. Eggman:*through the speakers* It's refreshing to know your battles with the Iron Queen didn't dull that obnoxious steak of yours. In a masochistic way, I mean.

Sonic: Nothing's changed, Doc! Come on out so we can tussle for old time's sake!

Sally: Guys, some thing's coming up the elevator!

*I then heard it. The sound of the elevator coming up. I got out my hook swords*

Dr. Eggman:*through the speakers* Ah-ah-ah, Rodent! To earn an audience with me, you've got to prove you've still got it!

*Suddenly, the elevator opened behind us. We turned around & saw a giant silver version of Metal Sonic coming out*

Sonic: Oh, sweet! It wouldn't be a Death Egg without a Silver Sonic to fight!

Sally: It looks fiercer than the one in Station Square!

Sonic: Yeah! And the original nearly smashed me into chili-sauce. This is going to be awesome!

Abigail: Sonic! This isn't something to celebrate!

*Silver Sonic suddenly went into a spin dash & we all jumped out of the way*

Sonic: Are you kidding? Look at it!

*Sonic did a spin dash of his own, but was caught by Silver Sonic. The two of them began to run around the room, fighting*

Dr. Eggman:*through the speakers**laughing* That's it, Sonic! You're putting on quite a show!

Sally: Sonic! It's just stalling us! We've got to move on!

Dr. Eggman:*through the speakers* Now, now, Princess. Don't ruin his fun . . .! After all, you made this possible. Remember, it was your charity that left me in Snively's care when I had my . . . Little episode. Had you been ruthless enough, you could've ended me right then and there. I suppose you inherited that weakness from your Father. After all, if he hadn't taken in that poor Overlander all those years ago, none of this would've ever happened! You've had your minor victories, to be sure, but only because you had Sonic's abilities to make up for your weakness. And you - ACK!

*Sally clenched her fist. I put a hand on her shoulder. she looked at me & I shook my head*

Abigail: He's just trying to get you mad. Don't let him get to you.

*Her eyes went wide & them she nodded with a determined smile*

Dr. Eggman:*through the speakers* It's been fun, children. But the weapon is armed, and I must get to firing it. Farewell!

Sally: Sonic! We're out of time! We've got to move!

Sonic: Sorry, what! Just a sec! I'm not done with "Tiny" here.

Sally: We're going ahead! Nicole, can you track where his voice is coming from?

*Sally & I were about to run down a hallway, but stopped when a barrel gun came out of the ceiling & pointed at us*

Dr. Eggman:*through the speakers* Ah-ah! That's far enough!

(Sonic's POV)

BLAM!

BLAM!

BLAM!

Sonic: Abby! Sally! GRNK! *while I was distracted, Silver Jerk punched me in the face. I managed to get away from it & went towards the sound* Abby . . . Sally . . . *I ran towards the door, but stopped when I saw a pair of broken goggles & a hook sword that had snapped in half* ABBY! SALLY!

*Just as I reached for the goggles & hook swords, a bright flash of white light filled my eyes*
