(Abigail's POV)
*We all looked in horror as we flew closer & closer to the smoking city of Aptos*
Sonic: Oh boy . . . The echidnas are under attack. Knuckles is not going to be happy about that.
Amy: This is getting ridiculous! He keeps putting others in danger to slow us down! Now the Death Egg is nowhere to be seen, and the last of the echidnas are suffering!
Abigail: Whoever said Eggman had class?
Huckleberry: Chao-Chao.
Sonic: We'll catch up to the Doc later. Take us in for a landing, Tails! Time to dish out some heroics, Team Fighters style! *suddenly, a green laser was shot at up, but Tail was able to dodge* Whoa! *we all tuned & saw a robiotic version of Knuckles flying towards us* Oh, cute! Now there's a Metal Knuckles! At least the Doc is giving me a variety of things to smash!
*Sonic jumped off the Tornado & tried to attack Metal Knuckles with a spin dash, but it knocked him away with it's metal claws*
Amy: Sonic!
*It then flew up to the Tornado & dug it's claws into one side of the plane*
Tails: Whoa! Stop wrecking my plane! *Amy knocked it away with her hammer. Tails made the Tornado go into a dive & I caught Sonic* Hit hit the fuel tank! T-Pup, see if you can stem the fuel loss while working land!
T-Pup: Yip!
*Tails brought the plane down & we all prepared ourselves for the crash. We crashed into the ground, but were unharmed*
Amy: Oogh . . .
Sonic: Y'know what they say, any landing you can walk away from . . .
Abigail: Yeah - yeah - yeah . . . Ugh . . .
Huckleberry:*dizzy* Chao-Chao . . .
Sonic:*to Tails* How bad is it?
Tails: We're not leaving anytime soon. But with our tracker on the Death Egg, we won't have trouble finding it again. T-Pup can handle most of the repairs and keep an eye on things while we check the situation here in the ruins, right boy?
T-Pup: Yip - Yip!
Amy: Looks like there's a residential area under lock-down up ahead. We should get an idea on how bad things have gotten.
*Me, Huck, Sonic, Tails, & Amy snuck into the city & hid behind a bush as a tank rolled past us*
Abigail:*whispering* Looks like it's pretty bad.
Huckleberry:*whispering* Chao-Chao.
Sonic:*whispering* Yeah . . . Dibs on the tank!
*Sonic jumped out of the bush & attacked the tank with a spin dash. The rest of us were right behind him. Amy & I knocked out Legionars with our weapons, Tails hit them with his twin-tails, & Huck kicked one in the face. Some of the Legionars tried to make a run for it, but they were stopped by Remington, who had a few male echidnas who were pointing spears & arrows at them*
Remington: All right, hands were we can see them. Surrender quietly and nobody gets hurt.
*Soon, all the Legionars were tied up, we went to meet the brown echidna*
Sonic: Hey! Remington, right?
Remington: Yes. You need no introduction, Sonic. Thanks for beating us to the punch. I didn't really have a plan for the tank.
Sonic: No prob. It's what Team Fighters is all about.
*Amy elbowed him*
Amy: Give it a rest! I'm Amy Rose.
Tails: Hi! I'm Tails!
Abigail: I'm Abigail Catz and this is my pet Chao, Huckleberry. Huck for short.
Remington: It's a pleasure and an honor. I've been trying to reach Angel Island for days to no avail. But I'll be happily take all the help I can get.
Sonic: Er . . . Anyone besides Knuckles might be hard to come by, Remmy. What's the situation here?
Remington: Stable up until a few days ago. The victims of the day transit had all gotten together and made a functioning community, including those who left Lien-Da. A handful of surviving tribesmen here helped the rest of us deal with our more . . . Rustic environment. And my troops have done their best maintaining peace and keeping order. Things were going well, all things considered. Three days ago, Lien-Da invaded with support from Dr. Eggman. After the initial attack, Eggman moved on. Lien-Da stayed behind with all her troops. The only Eggman tech she kept was the robot version of the Guardian. My troops are well-organized, but we couldn't stand against that kind of firepower. The enemy captured the Matriarch and most of the citizens. The few we could rescue are secured in that residential area where we met. We've been trying to liberate more while taking down enemy troops where we can. Our base camp is here in this theater.
Sonic: We saw your defenses. They're good, but they won't hold against the heavy artillery.
Remington: I know. We've been organizing an escape to the mainland, and we plan to hide the citizens in the Mercian Forest and appeal to the King.
Amy: I know the King will help you out. And now that we're here, we can bump up your time-table.
Remington: Thank you. Having you here helps more than you can know. That said, I was hoping for more prompt support from Angel Island.
Sonic: I know you were kinda out of it at the time, but remember how Angel Island got hit by Eggman? They're more rustic than you guys right now.
Remington: You said something about Knuckles Kin?
Sonic: Yeah, no. He's all that's left.
*Remington suddenly looked deviated*
Remington: I . . . I didn't realize . . . They're all gone?
*I elbowed Sonic*
Abigail: Nice tact!
Huckleberry: Chao-Chao!
Sonic: Well, sorry! Do you have a better way to break that kind of news?
*A tear came out of Remington's eye. Tails put a hand on his shoulder*
Tails: We need to focus on the present. What do you need to do?
Remington: You're right. Our main objective now is to rescue the Matriarch . . . And as many civilians as we can. With a few preperations, we should be ready to move. Pray they haven't already been Legionized.
*A few minutes later, Sonic crashed through the wall surrounding the Legion's Base*
Sonic: Woo - hoo!
*The rest of us were right behind him*
Remington: Most of the civilians are in the Prison Eggs in the courtyard!
Amy: You and your men get them out! We'll cover you!
*Just then, a tank rolled out*
Sonic: Tank! I called it! *but Tails sliced through it before he could get to it* Aw . . .
Abigail: You snooze, you loose, True Blue!
Huckleberry: Chao-Chao!
*Remington & his men freed the prisoners from the Egg Prisons*
Remington: Head for the hole in the wall! We'll cover you!
Female Echidna: The Matriarch and her Advisors aren't among them, sir.
Remington: They must be inside. Take your squad and the survivors to the neighborhood, the straight to the docks. We'll cover you here and catch up. *suddenly, a turret from the roof fired at them* Somebody take out those guns!
*Tails flew up & took out the Legionar that was working the turret*
Tails: You heard the man!
*Amy knocked a Legionar away with her hammer*
Amy: These guy just aren't the same as fighting Badniks . . .
*Sonic punched one in the face*
Sonic: That's what I've been saying all this time!
*I grabbed one by the wrist & judo flipped him*
Abigail: Badniks or not, they have to be stopped!
Huckleberry: Chao-Chao!
*Remington ran up to us*
Remington: The Matriarch and other high-level targets must be inside. We need to push deeper.
Sonic: Might as well kick all the butts while we're here, right? *just then, a few blue pillars came out of the ground* Uh . . . Is that a good thing or a bad thing? *the pillars started shooting out electricity* YOW! Bad thing!
*The next thing I knew, I was completely frozen in my tracks, along with Remington's men. The only ones who could move were the Legionars*
Tails: It's a paralyzing defensive grid. Eggman's army has a built-in resistance!
Amy: I've got my own resistance right here!
*She smashed down the pillars with her hammer. Lien-Da then came out of the building*
Lien-Da: You shouldn't have come here, Sonic. This doesn't concern you.
Sonic: Lady, any time Eggman or his goons are oppressing anybody, it becomes my business! *he jumped to attack her, but Lien-Da swung an electric whip at him. he dodged it* WHOA! *she swung another whip, but he dodged that too* Since when could you do that!?
Lien-Da: When Eggman rebuilt me, did you think he'd just stop at my pretty face? I've got too much at stake to let you ruin things now! You're dead, Hedgehog!
Sonic: You've got a neat trick, I'll give you that, but it's not enough to stop me!
Lien-Da: Maybe not . . . *suddenly, Metal Knuckles came crashing through the roof, landing next to her* But Metal Knuckles should swing things in my favor.
Sonic: Oh, yeah. That might make things harder for me.
*Just then, Metal Knuckles hit him in the face*
