Endangered Species 2/4
Note: For the next three issues I'll be following the storyline of "Archie Sonic Online". If you haven't heard of this website, I highly recommend you check it out. It's amazing. Also after this chapter, updates are going to be very slow. I don't know when I'll be able to update normally, but until then, please be patient with me. Please let me know what you think of the story so far in the comments. Also, I'd like to ask you all one question. What do think would be a suitable punishment for Eggman for all the crimes he's committed?

(Abigail's POV)
*Sonic was knocked away by Metal Knuckles. His head then hit a rock & he was knocked unconscious*
Amy & Abigail: SONIC!
Huckleberry: CHAO-CHAO!
*We (including Tails) ran up to him*
Amy: Don't try to get up, Sonic! I'll protect you!
Tails: I can airlift him to safety, but between the Legion and the defensive grid, we're sitting ducks out here!
Lien-Da: The tide turns against the meddlesome hedgehog and his inferior Mobian friends. Finally.
Metal Knuckles: DO NO ATTRIBUTE THIS SOLELY TO YOUR EFFORTS. YOU WOULD HAVE FAILED IF NOT FOR DR. EGGMAN'S TECHNOLOGY.
Lien-Da: If Enerjak hadn't stolen our cybernetics, I wouldn't have needed Eggman's help.
Metal Knuckles: IRRELEVANT. IT WAS YOUR CHOICE TO JOIN THE EGGMAN EMPIRE. DO NOT FORGET YOUR PLACE.
*Meanwhile, Remington was trying to push back against the Legionars*
Remington: Sonic's down and the enemy's on the offensive! We have to pull back!
Teri-Lu: B - But the Matriarch!
Remington: There's nothing we can do, Teri-Lu! Gather the wounded and make a full retreat! I'll hold off Lien-Da as long as I can! *he turned to us & his men* Go, go, go! Move it!
*He then turned to Lien-Da as Metal Knuckles flew away*
Lien-Da: That's right, traitor! Run away and leave your people to their conquerors! Just like your precious Brotherhood before you!
Remington: I'm not going anywhere. I'm going to take you down!
*Remington fired his laser gun at her but she dodged*
Lien-Da: Oh, Remington . . . You were never a match for me.
*She shocked him with her electric powers & knocked him out. We stopped when we saw our way out was blocked by a red female echidna with peach skin, one green eye, & one red eye wearing a yellow & purple outfit & holding electric batons with a bunch of Ligoniers behind her*
Abigail: Oh, no . . .
Huckleberry: Chao . . .
*Metal Knuckles then hit Tails, sending him & Sonic to the ground*
Abigail: SONIC! TAILS!
Huckleberry: CHAO-CHAO!
*Amy tried to fight against the female echidna, but was knockedout by her electric batons*
Abigail: AMY!
Huckleberry: CHAO-CHAO!
*The next thing I knew, Huck & I were surrounded by Dark Legionars with their guns pointed at us. Lien-Da then walked up to me with Metal Knuckles & the female echidna next to her*
Lien-Da: Okay kid. We can do this the easy way or the hard way. What's it gonna be? *I looked around. my friends, Remington, & his men were all laying on the ground, unconscious & I was severely outnumbered. seeing no other option, I dropped my swords & put my hands up* Smart move.
*One of the Legionars came up & handcuffed me. Another picked up my swords. A third one grabbed Huck & put in a cage*
*Soon, I was sitting on the ground with my friends & Remington. One by one, they all came around. Sonic was the last one*
Sonic: Ugh . . . How long was I out?
Remington: I'm sorry, my lady. We failed you.
Lara-Le: Don't lose faith, Captain. My son will come through for us.
Amy: I hope so. These people have been through so much . . .
Lien-Da: And it's about to come to an end. For all of us. My men are preparing the Legionization equipment. Soon, my power as leader. Of the unified echidna race will be cemented. *she looked at Sonic* And you, my prize prisoner, will have the honor of being Legionized first. History will remember GrandMaster Lien-Da as the one who finally brought the so-called "Hero of Mobius" to heel!
Sonic: Last I checked, it was Eggman's robot that took me out, not you. You're his lackey so I say the victory is his by proxy.
Lien-Da: You're still defiant? Not to worry, we have implants to take care of that.
Remington: You speak of unifying the echidnas. Half your organization joined the rest of their kind to start anew. Why did you not do the same? We could have worked to rebuild our homeland as equals.
Lien-Da: Pretty words coming from the one who "miraculously" survived certain death to sow chaos in my army's rank - and file. Without you, I would have taken Angel Island long ago, stopped that fool Finitevus, and saved us with the Master Emerald myself.
Remington: Finitevus played both of us. I wasn't of sound mind and body when I joined the Legion, but my time with them gave me a better sense of where you're coming from. At the end of the day, both sides just want the fighting to end. Why can't you see that?
Lien-Da: You're as naive as ever, nephew. It's impossible for us to leave Eggman's service.
Tails: Is that because of the bombs in your cybernetics?
*As soon as he said that, it was as if a record had come to a screeching halt.
Echidna #1: Bombs? In their cybernetics!?
Echidna #2: And they're going to Legionize us too . . .?
Echidna #3: Those monsters!
Cobar: GrandMaster . . . Is what the boy speaks the truth?
*Lien-Da looked at him with her eyes glowing angrily & her hand sparking*
Lien-Da: No! Do not let them poison your mind with their lies! . . . Now then, your report?
Cobar: Ahem! Ahh . . . Right. The Legionization devices have been hooked up as per your instructions. What are your orders.
Lien-Da: Activate them. There's no time to waste.
Remington: So it's not enough that you willingly allied yourself with the greatest threat ever faced by echidna kind, you're also signing their death warrants.
Lien-Da: We did what we had to do to preserve our way of life. Did you learn nothing from your time as a Legionar? Of course, you're not the only one who who needs to be taught a new lesson.
*She then stood over me, but I didn't look at her*
Sonic: Leave her alone!
*Lien-Da ignored him as she lifted my face to make me look at her. I didn't show any fear as I glared at her*
Lien-Da: You've been awfully quiet. Afraid you'll go back to Mordred once you're Legionized?
*For a few seconds, I didn't say anything. Until . . .*
Abigail: No. I was thinking of how fear and insanity causes people to do stupid things. So if you think I'm scared of you, then you're as stupid and crazy as Eggman . . . Old Lady.
*For a while everyone was quiet. Then, I could hear my friends trying to hold in their snickers, along with Remington, his men, Lara-Le, her husband, & a few Dark Legionars. Lien-Da's face just turned red with rage & embarrassment. And then . . .*
SLAP!
*She slapped me right across the face, sending me to the floor*
Sonic, Tails, & Amy: ABBY!
Huckleberry: CHAO-CHAO!
Lien-Da: We'll see how long that bravery lasts after you've been Legionized, you smart-mouthed brat!
*I just kept my glare as I went back to kneeling on the floor. Seeing she couldn't get to me, she turned back to Remington*
Remington: This isn't about your cybernetics! This is about the fact that you sold out your own race to a genocidal madman!
Lien-Da: I command the Dark Egg Legion. Under my leadership, he will be irrelevant.
Remington: That's a lie and you know it. I see you for what you truly are, Lien-Da. You're a Zealot. One utterly blinded by her own obsession with power. Listen here. If any citizen here has not lost one of their dearest friends or family members, let them close their eyes.
*Everyone in the room looked at Lien-Da with sadness & anger in their eyes, including me & Huck*
Lien-Da: I . . .
*Suddenly, a laser shot out from nowhere, destroying the power source, freeing all of us from our handcuffs & Huck from his cage. I turned & saw Julie-Su, wearing a Dark Legionar cloak & holding a laser gun*
Julie-Su: He's got you there, sis.
Lien-Da: Insolent girl! Perhaps you'll learn respect once I - !
*Before she could finish, Sonic started bouncing around the room in spin dash mode, knocking her & a few Legionars away*
Sonic: Yeah - yeah - yeah, we've heard this song and dance before. Thanks for the timely rescue, 'Su! Sorry to interupt your family reunion! Yo, Abby! Catch!
*He threw me my hook swords & I caught them*
Abigail: Thanks, Sonic!
Huckleberry: Chao-Chao!
Lien-Da: Loathsome children . . . Always interfering with . . . *she started whipping around electricity like crazy* I won't let you win! Just die already!
Sonic: Sorry, should've warned you about that!
Julie-Su: I can handle her! Just free your team so we can get out of here! *she turned to me* Abby, once this is over, there's something I need to tell you!
Abigail: You got it!
Huckleberry: Chao-Chao!
*Julie-Su fired a laser at Lien-Da, but it was blocked by her electricity*
Lien-Da: That's the best you can do!? *she then hit Julie-Su in the chest with some electricity & she fell to her knees* Any last words, brat?
Julie-Su: Yeah . . . Your new toys don't mean much when I've got backup.
*Lara-Le's husband, Wynmacher, knocked her to the floor. Remington pointed his gun at her*
Remington: Stay down and don't make this worse for yourself. It's over.
Sonic: Now we just need to get everyone to safety. Is Metal Knuckles still around?
Tails: Maybe I could summon T-Pup and have him scout out a path for everyone?
Julie-Su: Knuckles and Saffron stopped Metal Knuckles and they're securing the courtyard right now. The Legion still controls most of the outlying city so I brought this to make an easy escape.
She pulled out a Power Ring & flipped it in the air. But instead of making a portal, it just fell to the floor*
Sonic: Uh . . . What?
Amy: . . . That's not supposed to happen, is it?
Julie-Su: Well, I didn't have a Plan B.
Sonic: We'll improvise. I'll help Knux clean up and we'll figure things out from there.
*He ran out of the room. The rest of us stayed behind to help everyone escape. Little did I know that soon, we would be facing a new enemy, who had plans of his own for the echidna race*

*While the battle was going on, a certain evil plant snuck into the base*
Krudzu Hybrid: NYAHAHA! At long last, the Krudzu Hybrid Hydra has returned!
*Suddenly, a tank ran over it, crushing it*
Dark Legionar #1: Did we hit something?
Dark Legionar #2: Probably wasn't anything important.
