(Abigail's POV)

*After I bandaged Sonic's head, he & Rotor helped Sally to the door leading outside*

Sonic: Easy now, Sal.

Sally: I'm fine, Sonic. I'm just a little - *when we opened the doors, we were greeted by all the citizens of New Mobotropolis & Knotehole cheering for Sally's return* Exhausted? *Sonic & I turned to see Amy & Silver. Silver gave us a thumbs up & Amy waved. Sonic gave them a thumbs up & I just smiled. then Sonic, Tails, & I hugged our families, happy to be reunited* Thank you all for your concern. I hope to return to active field duty soon. But right now, I'm just happy to be home!

*Bunnie ran up to Sally & hugged her*

Bunnie: And we're happy to have you home, Sally-Girl.

*Sally hugged her back*

Later, after the welcome home formalities were done, Sonic, Sally, Huck, & I went to Sonic's house, hanging out in his room. Sonic lay on his bed, I sat on the edge of his bed with Huck on my lap, & Sally looked out the window*

Sally: It looks the same as it did when I left. My home, my friends - everything is here. Maybe nothing has changed . . .

Sonic: Even if that's the case, we're in a pretty bad spot.

Sally:*sigh* Right . . . The Freedom Fighters . . . We have to . . .

*I got up & went to her*

Abigail: Sally. We got you back and we can get Antoine back too. There's no need to worry.

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao.

Sally: How can you say that after all I've done!? I hurt people I've sworn to protect, the people I care for most . . .

Sonic: Sal . . .

Sally: It was me! I wanted to do those things! I don't deserve -

Sonic: Sally. You're Sally Acorn, the one who gave her life to save everyone! That thing . . . It wasn't you. Never was. Never will be. You can believe that, Sal. Try to believe that.

Abigail: He's right. Mecha Sally is gone. And she's never coming back. Ever.

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao.

Sally: I . . . Maybe . . .

*Just then, Mrs. Hedgehog came in, with Sally's parents behind her*

Bernadette: I thought you might like some company . . .

*Sally ran to her parents & hugged them*

Sally: Mother! Daddy!

King Nigel Acorn: My daughter . . .

Queen Alicia Acorn: It's so good to see you again!

*Sonic, Huck, & I started to leave*

Sonic: We'll leave you to it, Sal. I wouldn't want to get in the way.

Sally: Sonic, Abby, wait!

Abigail: . . . Sally?

Huckleberry: Chao?

Sally: Please stay.

Sonic: Don't worry, Sally. I'll stay as long as you want.

Abigail: We all will.

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao.

Sally: Thank you . . .

*We all did a group hug*

*The next day, we all gathered in the Coliseum to get ready for Sally's Welcome Home Concert*

Sally: You guys really didn't have to do this, you know.

Sonic: Yeah, but you know these guys - They'll take any excuse to party.

Abigail: Can you really blame them? After everything we've all been through.

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao.

*Bunnie, Tails, & Rotor came up to us. Rotor was holding a fixed T- Pup*

Tails: Hey guys!

Sally: Tails, Rotor, it's go nice to see you both again.

Rotor: You too! And . . . Look who we fixed!

*T-Pup jumped out of his arms & into Sonic's*

Sonic: T-Pup!

Abigail: Glad to see you're all better.

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao!

Sally: Heh, it's nice to see you -

*T-Pup suddenly got scared & whined when Sally got close to him*

Sonic: What's the matter, boy? *just then, I remembered how he had gotten damaged when Mecha Sally reactivated. Sonic quickly put him down* So, uh, Rotor! What's the deal with Eggman's crazy Copycat robot?

Rotor: It's still offline from the battle. We've been studying it's components, it's extremely complex. The encryption on that robot is insane. I don't think even Nicole's handled form would've been able to decipher it all.

Tails: It's way too advanced to be an Eggman robot, so he must've found it somehow. But if he managed to reverse-engineer the design . . .

Sally: Um . . . I'm sorry to interrupt, but . . . You all deserve to know the truth. I need to tell you that I was fully aware of everything I said and did before. I'm sorry.

Rotor: Nonsense, you weren't in control of you actions.

Bunnie: Ya got nothin' to apologize for, Suger.

Tails: Yeah, we're just happy to have you back, Sally.

Sally: Th - Thank you . . .

Rotor: Sally, Bunnie and I would like to introduce you to Team Freedom. We've been protecting New Mobotropolis & Knotehole in your absence.

Big: Hi.

Heavy: GREETINGS.

Bomb: PING!

*Cream & Cheese looked a little nervous as they bowed & curtsied to Sally*

Cream: W - Welcome home, Princess Sally. We're all happy to see you again.

Cheese: Ch - Chao-Chao.

Sally: Ah . . . Thank you, Cream. I'm happy to be home again.

*Lacey hugged her*

Lacey: I'm so glad you're home, Sally.

Sally: Thank you, Lacey.

*The Plus Ultra Squad bowed to her*

Nathan: Welcome home, Your Highness.

Sally: Thank you. But please, just call me Sally. I've met you all before, but I'm very happy to see you working together as Freedom Fighters. I look forward to working with you all in the future.

*Just then, Nicole appeared behind her*

Nicole: Sally!

Sally: Nicole!

*They both hugged with happy tears in their eyes*

Nicole: I'm so happy to see that you are safe, Sally.

*Silver came up to them*

Silver: Hello, Princess! Mind if I join this reunion?

Sally: Not at all . . . Silver, correct?

Silver: Yeah, that's me. I just wanted to apologize for knocking you out. I - I didn't mean to cause any harm. Well, uh, m - maybe at first, but I -

Sally: It's fine, really. Thank you.

*Just then, Amy ran up to her, ready for a hug*

Amy: Sally! It's so great to see you~!

Sally: You too, Amy . . .

*She started to get nervous*

Amy: Sorry, I didn't mean -

*Mina came up to Sally*

Mina: Welcome home, Princess!

Sally: Thank you, Mina. It's good to see you again.

?:*off-screen* Ah, Princess Sally! So wonderful to have you back!

*We turned & saw Geoffrey coming towards us*

Geoffrey St. John (Ixis Naugus): The Royal Wizard, Ixis Naugus, offers his regards to both the you and Team Fighters for your bravery, strength, and heroism. *he took her hand & kneeled in front of her* He only wishes he could be here to thank you in person.

Sally: . . . Thank you . . . I think?

*Sonic, Huck, & I got in between them*

Abigail: Oh, Sally. I think there's more people at Uncle Chuck's Diner that want to welcome you home.

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao.

Sally: Ah . . . Yes! Let's go, guys.

Sonic: Give us a minute. Abby and I need to have a word with St. Jerk first.

*Everyone started to leave, leave us with Geoffrey*

Sally: Alright, but hurry.

Sonic: Ha, remember who you're talkin' to?

*We all turned to Geoffrey with glares*

Abigail: Alright, Geoffrey. Let's talk.

Huckleberry: Chao.

Geoffrey St. John (Ixis Naugus): Uh . . . Whatever you say, Luv!

Sonic: I can't help but notice you've been acting a little stranger than usual lately. It wasn't that long ago that you were fighting Sally. What's going on?

Geoffrey St. John (Ixis Naugus): N - Nothing! Why would you think that?

Abigail: I don't know. Probably because we both thought you were having second thoughts about Naugus. To be honest, I find it hard to believe that you're still working for him after everything he's done.

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao.

Geoffrey St. John (Ixis Naugus): Our Royal Wizard has given us all far greater protection and stability than the so called "Hero of Mobius" could have ever provided. I'm proud to serve him, Mate, and you two should be too.

Sonic: Too bad I can't serve someone who only serves himself.

Abigail: Same here.

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao.

Geoffrey St. John (Ixis Naugus): You - !

Sonic: Sorry, Geoff, we've gotta go. But just for the record, Hershey would have wanted differently.

(Third-Person POV)

Geoffrey St. John: I know, Sonic . . . I know.

(Abigail's POV)

*After the welcome home greetings were done, Sally went to Freedom HQ. Huck & I went with her for company. It felt good to be back after being away for so long. Sally looked lost in thought as she looked around*

(Sally's POV)

Sally:*in her mind* Freedom HQ. It's almost unreal being seeing the old base again. I doubt everyone has had time to use thus place recently, but it looks like they've been making sure it stays nice and tidy. They never stopped believing I would come back, even though they knew I was supposed to . . .

(Abigail's POV)

*Suddenly, Nicole appeared on the screen, surprising all three of us*

Nicole: Ah! There you girls are!

Sally: Nicole!?

Abigail: You scared us!

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao!

Nicole: Please pardon the intrusion, but I have someone who would like to see you immediately.

*Suddenly, a Warp Ring appeared & Knuckles stepped out of it*

Knuckles: Sally!

Sally: Knuck - Oh!

*He suddenly hugged her. I could tell this was making her uncomfortable*

Abigail: Uh, Knuckles . . . I understand that you're happy to see Sally, but you're making her feel really awkward right now.

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao.

*He let go*

Knuckles: Is that true, Sally? Sorry, I just got caught up in the moment and -

Sally: No, I'm fine . . . I'm happy to see you again, Knuckles. You just startled me, is all

Knuckles: Okay, that's a relief . . . Uh, I'm happy to see you too, Sally. I'm glad you're safe.

Sally:*giggle* Just don't scare me like that again, or I'll have to give you another flip back kick.

Knuckles: You're the one who prodded me with a stick, remember?

Sally: Only because you were spying on me!

*Huck & I giggled*

Knuckles: Yeah, well, anyway . . . The Chaotix and I are getting ready to go on an important mission soon. But when I heard that you weren't a - OOF! *I elbowed him* Back to normal, I rushed over as soon as I could.

Sally: Oh . . . You came back just for me?

Knuckles: Of course! Er, not to say that you were getting in the way or anything, but we're friends, remember?

Sally: Yeah . . . Thanks for the thought . . .

Knuckles: I'm not looking forward to owing Sonic an apology but - huh?

*Suddenly, Sally started to cry*

Sally: S - Sorry . . .

Knuckles: Sally!?

Abigail: Sally, what's wrong!?

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao!

Sally: I can't take it anymore, guys . . . Everyone has been so thoughtful and caring for me since I came back, but I don't deserve their sympathy! It's burned into my mind . . . All the horrible things I said, all the people I nearly killed, being forced to watch Eggman turn me into a monster! I just . . . I can't . . .

*I didn't know what to say. Until Knuckles put a hand in her shoulder*

Knuckles: . . . Why don't we find a place to sit down and talk.

*We all went to the living room of Freedom HQ*

Abigail: But you didn't kill anyone!

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao!

Sally: I did kill them, Abby.

Knuckles: Look, Sally . . . I understand what you're going through right now. I still haven't forgiven myself for what I did before. To be turned into a weapon - turned against everyone you care about while being completely aware of it the whole time . . . There's no agony quite like it. But dealing with the aftermath is just as hard. My Father and I never really saw eye-to-eye, but he sacrificed himself to give me a second chance. And instead I chose to wallow in my self-pity. I turned my back on my own people right when they needed me most. But my friends went and knocked some sense back into me. I owned up to what I did, and now things are finally looking up. I know that with my friends beside me, there's nothing I can't do. *he started to get nervous* Sorry, I'm making this too much about me. Basically, what I'm trying to day is, um, uh . . .

*Sally wiped away her tears*

Sally: It's okay, Knuckles. I know exactly what you mean. I think . . . I feel a little better now.

Knuckles: Thank goodness . . . Pep talks aren't my specialty, but you're not alone, Sally.

Abigail: He's right. We never gave on you before, and we won't give up now either.

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao.

Knuckles: And you've still got me too. Of course, if you ever need my help, no matter when you need it, I'm always just a call away.

*All four of us did a group hug*

Sally: I won't. Thank you, guys . . . For everything.
