(Abigail's POV)

*It's been 8 months since we defeated Naugus & surprisingly, it's been really quiet. We haven't even heard anything from Eggman. But knowing him, that's gotta mean that he's up to something big. Today, Lacey & I were at school (Huck, of course, had to stay home). We were just sitting in homeroom, talking about a letter Lacey had recently gotten from Mighty. 2 months ago, he & Ray had left Angel Island to go on a training journey. The letter he had sent last week said that had found a teacher in the jungles of Soumerca. Just as Lacey finished reading me the letter for the hundredth time, the Plus Ultra Squad came up to us*

Zeke: Hey. Did you guys feel that earthquake last night?

*Over the past month, we've been getting a lot of small tremors. Which is really strange, because I remember Rotor saying that we weren't anywhere near a fault line*

Lacey: You call that an earthquake? It barley knocked over a lawn chair.

Nathan: Yeah, but I heard some people who work at the Science Lab saying that the next one could be disastrous. That's why the data they collect is invaluable. It's like Geological Christmas.

Mason: Ho, ho, ho.

*Later that day, school was let out early because of another tremor. Lacey & I then went to my house to do our homework. After we finished, Huck & I went to explore the Great Forest. Lacey couldn't come because she had plans with Amy, Cream, & Cheese. Anyway, after a few minutes of walking, we soon spotted Sonic, Tails, Antoine, Muttski, & Uncle Chuck

Abigail: Hey, guys!

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao!

*They all turned to me*

Sonic: Hey, Abby! School out already?

Abigail: They let us out early because of another tremor. What are you guys doing out here?

Tails: We've been trying to help Uncle Chuck figure out what's causing these tremors.

Abigail: Have you guys been working out here all day? Even with those tremors? Are you okay?

Uncle Chuck: Well, none of us will be if I can't figure out what's causing these tremors. But I'll bet you anything it's Eggman. I'm taking some samples of the strange energy seeping out of the Earth. Hopefully, it'll help me figure out just what he's up to. I'd love Nicole's help in analyzing the samples if she's free.

Sonic: Well, she's not exactly free at the moment, Unc.

Uncle Chuck: What do you mean?

Abigail: She left on a mission with Sally and Bunnie yesterday.

Uncle Chuck: Oh, that's right. I forgot about that.

*Suddenly, we felt another tremor. It caused the ground under Muttski & Uncle Chuck to split open. They fell down it, along with an old tree. Me, Huck, Sonic, Tails, & Antoine all jumped down the crack to help them. Antoine & I sliced pieces of the tree while Sonic & Tails helped Uncle Chuck & Muttski*

Uncle Chuck: Sonic! My research!

Sonic: Priorities, Unc! *he threw Uncle Chuck to Antoine* Get 'em topside! I'm right behind ya!

*Antoine handed Uncle Chuck to Tails, who still had Muttski*

Antoine: Take zem both! Abigail and I will clear ze way!

Abigail: I'm on it! Huck, go on ahead!

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao!

*Antoine & I sliced logs in half while Tails pulled Muttski & Uncle Chuck to the surface & Huck went back to the surface. Sonic soon came up, holding a silver box with three purple light bulbs on it, one of them broken, & coughing violently. But he didn't make it. Luckily, Huck & I caught him before he fell*

Abigail: We've got you!

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao!

*Antoine took the device as Tails helped Sonic the rest of the way up & put him on the ground*

Tails: Hang on, Sonic! *Sonic then started snarling like a wild animal* Sonic! Speak to me! Are you alright?

Sonic:*coughing* Yeah. *cough* Yeah. I'll be - *cough* Fine.

*Muttski & Uncle Chuck ran up to us*

Uncle Chuck: Sonic! What happened!?

Sonic: Ground shook. You fell. I saved your research. Lost a bit of it, though. Sorry.

Muttski:*to Antoine* You were awesome! That spin ball attack was all "whoosh!"

Antoine: Were you not screaming in terror ze moment ago?

Muttski: Yeah, but we're fine now and you're still awesome!

Antoine: Oui, oui, merci.

Uncle Chuck: How much of the sample did you inhale? You should see Doctor Quake immediately. We'll get you to the hospital and . . .

Sonic: Why? To tell the Doc that stuff smells nasty? I'm fine, Unc.

Uncle Chuck:*sigh* I always said you had more skill than sense.

Sonic: It's gotten me this far, hasn't it?

Uncle Chuck: True enough. Thank you, boys, Abigail, and Huckleberry, for everything.

Abigail: You're welcome, Uncle Chuck.

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao.

*Muttski picked up the device. One of the bulbs was broken*

Muttski: Looks like we lost an entire sample.

Uncle Chuck: Hmph. All that time and effort lost in a matter of seconds. We'll just have to hope what's left will be enough to analyze. *he & Muttski headed back towards Knothole* C'mon, Mutt. We've got to make sure the villagers are safe, and then it's straight to Spagonia to study the samples. Sonic? See a doctor! That was super concentrated "mystery gas!"

Sonic: I did! You're a doctor!

Uncle Chuck: I meant Doctor Quake!

Muttski: Bye!

*I looked at Sonic & started to get worried*

Abigail: Sonic, maybe you should see Doctor Quake. You don't know what that stuff could do. What if it's poisonous?

Huckleberry: Chao-Chao.

Sonic: Come on, Abby. Who do you think your talking to? Whatever happens, I can handle it.

*He started to walk away with Antoine & Tails*

Abigail:*in her mind* He can be so impossible sometimes.

(Lacey's POV)

*Me, Amy, Cream, Cheese, Bean, & Bark appeared in the town square of New Mobotropolis*

Cream: Miss Blaze did it! We're home!

Lacey: We sure are!

Amy: Oh, I bet Sonic missed me . . . *she frowned & crossed her arms* He better have missed me.

Cream: Oh, goodness! I bet Mother is worried sick!

Lacey: My parents are probably going out of their minds right now!

Amy: Don't worry, girls. We're back, we're safe, and we'll tell them all about our adventures over tea like always.

Bean: Ooh! Will there be crumpets? Tea biscuits? Scones!? *suddenly, a metal ship came out of the sky & crash landed in-between me, Amy, Cream, Cheese, Bark, & Bean* Fine! No scones, then. Sheesh!

*A blue energy blade appeared, slicing at the edge*

?:*off-screen* C'mon . . . C'mon . . .

*The lid popped open, Sally & Bunnie hopped out, & ran they towards us*

Amy: Sally!?

Lacey: Bunnie!?

Sally: Amy! Lacey! Oh, thank goodness! I didn't think our distress signal got out!

Bunnie: We gotta move! Metal Sonic's right on our - *suddenly, Metal Sonic came out of nowhere* Tail!

*Sally summoned her Ring Blades & blocked it's attacks*

Sally: Although - No offense - I wish you'd brought more back-up, considering . . .

*Amy knocked it away with her hammer*

Amy: Robot or hedgehog, I can handle any Sonic!

Lacey: And don't forget about me!

*Cream ran towards Bean & Bark*

Cream: Mister Bean! Mister Bark! We could really use your help right now!

Bean: You sure could! How much money you got on ya?

Cream: N - None, b - but . . .

*They started to leave*

Bean: Sorry, kiddo! Only one pro Bono adventure per visit! (And I think we're wanted Criminal here.) Toodles?

Cream: But . . . But . . . You're so mean!

Lacey: Forget them, Cream. We don't need them anyway.

*Suddenly, Metal Sonic zoomed past us. Cheese flew towards Metal*

Cheese: Choa-Choa!

Cream: Cheese! No!

*He just hit it on the head & it swatted him away. Amy tried to hit it with her hammer again & I tried to kick it, but it blocked us with it's Black Shield. It them fired it's chest laser, but we managed to dodge it*

Bunnie: Girls!? Where in the hoo-ha is everybody!? Didn't you get the message we sent!?

*She & Sally flipped to dodge*

Amy: I don't know. Cream, Cheese, Lacey, and I were summoned to Blaze's world. We just got back. I don't know anything about a message.

Lacey: Me neither!

Sally: Then . . . It's just us?

Amy: Yeah, but we've handled some tough Badniks in our time!

*Metal Sonic then hit all of us with Burst Shield while it flew past us*

Cream: I think this one is *Whew* worse then "tough".

Amy: Yeah . . . But . . . I already gloated about handline him. I've got to back it up now.

Lacey: And I'm starting to regret saying that we didn't need Bean and Bark.

Sally: We can't let him control the fight. Push the offensive!

*The five of us charged at Metal Sonic*

Sally: Cheese - NOW!

*Cheese hit Metal on the head again, giving us the opening we needed. Amy hit it with her hammer, knocking it off it's feet, Bunnie punched it, I gave it another kick, & Sally jammed her Ring Blades into it's beck. It then activated Burst Shield again & we all jumped away. A squad of Royal Guards then came running towards it*

Female Guard: Get back, Your Highness! We'll handle this!

Sally: No! Focus on getting the citizens to a safe -

*Just then, Metal Sonic zoomed past all of them, knocking them off their feet*

Male Guard: W - We failed you . . .

Sally: That thing gives Sonic a run for his money. Be happy you're alive.

Amy: So . . . You guys said something about a distress signal?

Bunnie: We sent one to the Sky Patrol. Once we knew Metal Sonic was after us. If we were getting back-up, it'd be here by -

*Suddenly, two very familiar figures fell out of the sky & landed on top of Metal Sonic. Pinning him to the ground. It was Sonic & Abby*

(Abigail's POV)

Sonic: Hey, ladies. Somebody call for heroes?

Amy: Oh, so know you two show up?

Sally: As usual your timing is perfect! And maddening.

Sonic: Thanks for softening him up for me. *he turned to me* Mind if I finish this up, Abby?

Abigail: Be my guest.

*Sonic kicked Metal Sonic in the back of the head*

Sonic: C'mon, Clanky! Let's race!

*He zoomed out of the city with Metal Sonic right behind him*

Amy: That's it? We do all the work and he steals all the glory?

Sally: Yeah, but he get Metal Sonic out of the city. Safety of the people first -

Amy: Glory second. You're right. As usual.

Abigail: C'mon. We gotta patch these people up.

*Soon, the injured guards were being treated. I was using my healing powers to heal the guards with really bad injuries*

Sally: . . . And get them to the hospit - *suddenly, Sonic came zooming in & scooped Sally up into a hug. Amy looked jealous* Whoa!

Sonic: Sally! Oh, man! When we got your distress signal, I was so worried! Are you hurt!?

Sally: Sonic. I'm fine. I can handle myself, remember?

*Ever since we De-Roboticized Sally, Sonic has been extra protective of her. Checking up on her after every mission, calling her every night before they both go to sleep, & every morning once they wake up*

Sonic: I know. I know. I just don't want to go through the pain of loosing . . . You again . . .

*He suddenly got quiet. Sally just smiled & kissed his cheek*

Sally: Hey. I've learned my lesson since then. I'm not going to try and do everything myself again.

*Sonic just smiled at that & they kissed each other on the lips. Amy looked really jealous now*

Amy: Ahem!

*Sonic turned to her*

Sonic: And I was worried about you. Where did you disappear to?

Amy: Oh! I . . . Well . . . We were . . . Blaze says Hi!

Abigail: You guys say Blaze!?

Lacey: Yeah. Long story.

*After that, we went to the castle to check on Sally's family, who were very happy to see her safe & sound*

*We then went to the Sky Patrol for a meeting*

Bunnie: Okay, y'all. We got good news and we got bad news.

*Sally pulled out Nicole's handheld computer & showed a holographic image of the Death Egg*

Sally: The bad news is that Eggman was finally able to fix the Death Egg.

Sonic: Oh, man.

Tails: Well, at least we know what he's been doing these past 8 months.

Sally: But the good news is that because of an unfortunate "accident" caused by Orbot and Cubot, the World Roboticizor is now damaged beyond repair.

*We all chuckled*

Abigail: At least we don't have to worry about that thing ever again.

Lacey: Yeah, but now that Eggman has the Death Egg up and running again, who knows what he's going to plot next.

Sally: I know. I've already contacted Knuckles, Julie-Su, and the Chaotix to to ready for when he has his next plan ready.

Sonic: We all will be. We'll be ready for whatever comes our way. Right, Freedom Fighters?

All: Right!

*Suddenly, Nicole's handheld computer started beeping*

Nicole: Guys! Launch the Sky Patrol! Now! The effects of the Genesis Wave are finally starting to kick in!

*Rotor quickly had the Sky Patrol take off*

Rotor: Take it easy, Nicole. What's the rush?

*He put a Power Ring into the at the top of the screen on the mini computer & Nicole appeared in her full holographic form*

Nicole: This is . . . Far worse than I anticipated. After analyzing the energy that caused both Genesis Waves, I've found it wasn't just the planet that was affected . . . Not just our reality. The entire multiverse collapsed in upon itself.

Sonic: Whoa - Hold on, Nicole. We save the world all the time!

Tails: Right! What do we do to stop it?

Nicole: Stop it? IT'S TOO LATE!

*Suddenly, the ground below started to crack. Then the world started to break apart, looking like a giant jigsaw puzzle. All my friends & I could do was watch in horror. Just then, the words "Incoming Call" & a picture of a telephone appeared on the main screen, along with the sound of a telephone ringing*

Sally: Oh, now what?

*She answered the call & the face of Commander Tower, leader of G.U.N & Shadow's boss, appeared on the screen*

Commander Tower: This is Commander Tower calling the Freedom Fighters. I know we've had our differences in the past, but today in putting all that aside. I would like to request the help of one of you for a very impossible and possibly dangerous mission.

*As soon as he said that, I started to feel worried. Was this mission so dangerous that not even Shadow could handle it*
