(Lacey's POV)

*Soon after Abby left to help Team Dark with their mission, we got a News Bulletin saying that Station Square was being flooded. We immediately flew the Sky Patrol towards the city to help the citizens however we could. When we arrived, the whole city was waist deep in water & buildings were crumbling. Most of us jumped out of the ship. Me, Amy Bunnie, Antoine, Rotor, & Big, with Froggy on his shoulder, were on Extreme Gear, Tails was flying down, T-Pup next to him, with his tails, & Sonic had jumped down, head-first. A robot Chao called Omochao was with us. Sally, Cream, & Cheese stayed on the ship*

Sally:*off-screen* This poor city has already seen more than it's fair share of disasters. The people still haven't recovered from Perfect Chaos' attack. Now it looks like they're sitting right on a fault line. Freedom Fighters, we're going to rescue them. Team Freedom, your squad will get the environment under control. Team Fighters, you're saving as many lives as you can. *that was my team* They need heroes down there, we won't let them down. Sonic, you're a runner for both teams. T-Pup and Omochao will be feeding me your progress while I direct you from here. This is bad, and it's only going to get worse. I'll watch your backs as best I can, but look out for each other. We can handle this. We have to handle this.

*I flew along side Bunnie & Antoine. Suddenly, a crane started to fall. Luckily, Bunnie was able to catch it*

Bunnie: HRRRGH! I got the crane! Somebody handle that cable!

*Antoine sliced it in half with his sword*

Antoine: Sonic! Amy! Lacey! Zis line needs securing!

*Sonic grabbed the end of the line*

Sonic: I'll find some place to wedge it on this end!

*I grabbed the hook & held it for Amy so she could hammer it in place while Sonic tied his end to a sign*

Amy: One safety line coming up!

Lacey: Nice work, you guys!

*Bunnie put the crane down*

Bunnie: Whew! You're a heavy sucker.

Antoine: Are you alright, Ma Cheri?

Bunnie: I'm fine, Sugar. Whew! Feels like just yesterday we were here helping Sonic fight Perfect Chaos.

Antoine: Indeed. Rescuing people and watching Sonic bring us victory once again.

Lacey: Guys! Save the trip down memory lane for after save the city!

Sonic: Yeah! Less talking, more rescuing people, 'kay?

Antoine: Zut Alors! Of course!

*A holographic image of Sally appeared from Omochao's eyes*

Sonic: Where to next, Sal? We really need some direction here.

Sally: There's a crowd of people stranded in front of Casinopolis.

Sonic: Let's book it!

Lacey: I'm coming too! No way am I missing out on this!

Sonic: Suite yourself! How you doing, Team Freedom!

Tails:*off-screen* We're over a Twinkle Park. There're people trapped inside. I've almost got the doors open. Sally, I'm sending T-Pup to Rotor to see if he's got the elevator working yet.

*Sonic & I were on our way to Twinkle Park when I heard a cry*

?:*off-screen* Help me!

*I turned to the left & saw a little Overlander girl, clinging to a lamp post about to topple over from the force of the rushing water. I flew towards her as it started to fall. I scooped her into my arms just before the post hit the ground*

Lacey: It's okay, kid! I got you!

Little Girl: Thank you, miss!

(Third-Person POV)

*Meanwhile, Rotor called Sally, who was talking to Nicole*

Rotor:*off-screen* People are moving from Twinkle Park. Where are we needed, Sally?

Sally: Oh! Sorry, Rotor. Um . . . Get to the sewer access near City Hall. See if you can get the sewer to handle the flooding better.

Nicole: . . . As I was saying . . . There isn't a single unaffected spot. The Kingdom of Acorn, United Federation, even the Eggman Empire. All of them are reporting chaos.

Sally: We barley made it to Station Square, and only because we were in the area. How am I going to save everyone . . .?

Cream: Excuse me . . . Miss Sally? I know you're worried, but everyone's trying their best to help out, so . . . Please don't feel like you have to take on all the burden alone.

Sally: I know, Cream. I know. It's just . . . Eggman has been quiet for so long, I thought for sure he had finally given up for good. And now this is happening. I should have been prepared for future crisis! And now, this is happening!

Nicole: You will not do this now.

Sally: I . . . Nicole?

Nicole: Sally, we were all caught off guard by what has happened. But right now, we've got to manage this crisis. To do that, we need you to organize and direct us. There is nobody better than you. You inspired Dulcy. You helped Lupe. You are the best to lead us. We are in this together, Sally. You are not alone.

*Sally took a few deep breaths & smiled at her*

Sally: You're right, as usual. This isn't about me at all.

Cream: I kept watch while you were talking! Team Freedom opened up a sewer line and are going to help people trapped in a subway car! Team Fighters are moving people from Casinopolis to the rooftops! I . . . I don't know what to tell them to do, though.

Sally: Perfect report, Cream. Thank you for picking up my slack. I'll handle things from here. Nicole, see if you can confirm the safety of our families, Vanilla, and all our friends abroad. Then start mapping out the hardest-hit areas.

Nicole: On it.

Cream: Don't worry, Your Highness. If anyone is to blame, it's that awful Dr. Eggman.

*Meanwhile, Orbot & Cubot were aboard the Death Egg, with Dr. Eggman, looking up the damage of the Eggman Empire*

Orbot: EGGNET SATELLITE DATA IS IN. THE PLANET'S CRUST IS COMPLETELY SHATTERED. MOST OF THE FAULT LINES ARE ALONG THE KNOWN TECTONIC PLATES' BOARDERS, BUT I'M MAPPING OUT EVERYTHING NOW.

Cubot: GRANDMASTERS 'ROUND DA WORLD REPORTIN' A SPIKE IN DAT WEIRD ENERGY THAT WAS SEEPIN' OUT OF THE GROUND. Y'KNOW, IN ADDITION TO ALL THE PANIC 'N' SUCH.

Dr. Eggman: BAH! And on top of it all, the final results of the duo Genesis Waves' energy shadow, there's no way to undo the reality shift. What a world I've inherited.

Orbot: WHICH WOULD'VE BEEN A LOT WORSE IF SUPER SAILOR SERENITY HADN'T INTERFERED -

Dr. Eggman: Bring that up one more time and I'll hollow you out into matching soup and salad bowls!

Orbot: . . . LIKE YOU'D EAT SOUP OR A SALAD . . .

Dr. Eggman: HUMPH. I have to find a way to fix the world while there's still some of it left. Otherwise, I'll be left with nothing to brutally conquer and Lord over! Full data mine! Eggnet, United Federation, G.U.N. - all of them, secure or otherwise. Search for anything associated with massive tectonic shifts, strange energy signatures . . . Doomsday scenarios . . . Sort by relevance, aaaaaand . . . *a picture of an old man with bushy eyebrows appeared on the holographic screen* That's it? Hmm . . . Orbot: NO, BOSS. THEY'RE ALL BUSY SECURING THEIR TERRITORIES. I DON'T KNOW IF YOU'VE HEARD, BUT THE WORLD HAS SHATTERED APART.

Dr. Eggman: Shut up! What about Badnik hordes?

Orbot: E-107 ETA'S UNIT IS THE NEAREST.

Dr. Eggman: Good. Send that unit to Spagonia University. Have them grab anything and anybody remotely related to Prof. Pickle's research and bring them to me. It's not much, but since it's my only lead, I need to be thorough. There has to be a way to manage this crisis.

(Lacey's POV)

*Sonic & I were going up the stairs of a building, Sonic running & me on my board. I had a little boy dog in my left arm & the little girl from earlier in my right arm*

Sonic: Okay, seriously, there's gotta be a better way of managing this crisis.

Lacey: You said it.

*We got to the roof*

Sonic: T-Pup? Omochao? Anyone around to hear us? 'Cause we're running out of rooftop and can't really stop, sooooo . . . *he got close to the edge* Little help? *suddenly, I noticed his teeth starting to get a little sharp* Somebody!? *I was about to go help him, but Amy caught him with her hoverboard* Whew! Thanks, Amy.

Amy: My pleasure. I always did want to sweep you off your feet.

Sonic: You're flirting with me? Here? Now?

Lacey: Amy, there's a time and a place for that, and that time isn't right now!

Amy: Okay, okay, sorry. *we landed on a rooftop, & the kids reunited with their parents. she turned to Sonic* Oh, please. This coming from the Master of the inappropriately timed one-liners.

Sonic: Yeah! But when I do it, it's cool!

*Omochao flew over & Sally appeared out of it's eyes*

Sally: Sorry about the close call three, Sonic. Antoine and Bunnie ran into some trouble.

Sonic: Don't sweat it, Sal. We're short on flying camera-radio-thingies. So you have some kind of evac plan? 'Cause we're running out of buildings.

Sally: Maybe? Rotor? We need an evac plan. Can the Sky Patrol . . .?

Rotor:*off-screen* RRRGH! Nope! It was built to hold about 2 dozen people. She's a mobile base, not a ferry.

Sally: What about the subway line? Can we move the people to safety elsewhere?

Rotor:*off-screen* Subway's a wreck and we don't have the management or gear to get it working again. I'm not even sure the rails are intact.

Sonic: Sally, we need to get these people top-side.

Sally: Which is becoming less of an option. We simply don't have the resources to handle this. Let me think . . .

Sonic: Work it our for us, Sal. Until then, I'm going to keep moving. I'm going to save every single person here single handedly if I have to.

Lacey:*in her mind* This is getting out of control. We have to find a way to save these people before it's too late. But how!?

*Suddenly, a different voice came out of Omochao*

?:*off-screen* That won't be necessary. *we all looked up & saw a giant ship flying over the Sky Patrol* Attention citizens of Station Square! This is Cap. Amanda Tower of the U.F.A.F. Letter of Gabriel. G.U.N. forces are being deployed to rescue you. Please remain calm and give your full cooperation to the G.U.N. troops and the Freedom Fighters. We will protect you. You will be safe.

(Third-Person POV)

Cap. Amanda: Hail the Freedom Fighters' ship - the whatever it's called.

*Sally appeared on the ship's main screen*

Sally: Hello? This is Princess Sally Acorn of the Sky Patrol.

Cap. Amanda: A pleasure, Your Highness. It looks like you could use a hand.

Sally: Yes! Thank you. You're timing couldn't be better!

(On the Sky Patrol)

Cap. Amanda: Thank us? Thank you! If it weren't for you Freedom Fighters, we'd be doing clean up instead of rescue. Kudos for expertly managing this crisis with such a small squad. You made a real difference here.

Sally: It's okay. I . . . We will be okay. Ahem! Excuse me. We're used to dealing with Team Dark instead of G.U.N. directly.

Cap. Amanda: Rest assured, Your Highness, they're are doing their part to save the world, along with your teammate.

(Abigail's POV)

*I just got back from my mission with Team Dark, around the same time my team got back from Station Square*

Sonic: I'm beat. I'll be power-napping all the way to the next crisis, then . . .

Sally: Shhh!

*Cream was on a video chat with her Mom, with King Nigel, Queen Alicia, & my parents, Mom holding Toby, next to her*

Cream: . . . And we're all very safe and sound on the Sky Patrol. You really ought to visit, Mother. It's amazing!

Vanilla: I'm sure it is, dear. You stay close to the Freedom Fighters and stay safe. Gemerl will help me look after Chocola. I love you, Cream.

Cream: I l - love you, t - too, M - Mom . . .

*Vanilla bowed to Sally's parents*

Vanilla: Thank you, Your Majesties.

King Nigel: Think nothing of it, M'lady.

*Amy led a crying Cream away*

Cream: I - I'm okay . . . Re - Re - Really . . .

*Lacey was currently on her cell phone with her Dad*

Lacey: Ok, Daddy. Yes, I know to brush my teeth. I'll call you and Mother tonight. Okay, smooches, love you! Mwah! Mwah!

*Tails was talking to his & Sonic's parents on his Miles Electric*

Tails: I'll call you guys whenever I have time and I'll be very careful.

Rosemary: Just do your best out there, dear. Love you.

Amadeus: We're very proud of you, son.

Tails:*tears in his eyes* Love you guys too.

Sonic: How you guys holding up?

Jules: We're doing just fine, son. Hardly any damage was done to me or the house. Other than a few broken dishes.

Bernadette: Stay safe sweetie. Have fun and be careful.

Sonic: Don't worry, Mom. I'll be fine.

Bernadette: Okay, but keep your spines sharp, watch out for water, and don't forget to call us when you have time.

Sonic: Mooooom!

Bernadette: Alright, love you sweetie.

Jules: Love you, son.

Sonic: Yeah, yeah, love you guys too.

*I stepped up to the screen to talk to my parents*

Abigail: Hey, guys.

Robert: Hey, kiddo. How was your mission with Team Dark?

Abigail: It went well. And don't worry, I'll be careful while I'm away.

Laura: We know, dear. Just promise you'll call us after every mission.

Abigail: I will, Mom.

Toby: Aba! Aba!

Abigail: I'll miss you, too, buddy.

Robert: Stay safe, sweetheart. Love you.

Abigail: Love you guys too.

*My parents bowed to Sally's parents*

Laura: Thank you, Your Majesties.

Queen Alicia: Our pleasure, Laura.

*Sally was next*

Sally: How's the Kingdom, Daddy, Mother?

Queen Alicia: It seems Southern Northamer on a whole was spared the worst.

King Nigel: What have you gathered about the rest of the world?

Nicole: Thanks to the access code Sally and Bunnie stole from the Death Egg, we've been able to compare data from the Eggnet with the rest of the world. It appears the chucks of crust have stabilized - for now.

Sally: And while that's nice, we have no explanation as to how anyone can breathe, or how the oceans still function, or what's keeping the world's crust from floating.

Sonic: We just saved a city, can't we just chalk it up to "magic" and call it a day.

Abigail: Yeah, I'm with Sonic. Let's just go with magic for now.

King Nigel: A smashing idea, I'd say. For now, at least. Rest up, heroes. You'll be needed now for than ever. New Mobotropolis signing off.

*Queen Alicia waved goodbye to Sally as her husband hung up*

Tails: Whew! Today was so crazy!

Lacey: Tell me about it. I'm need a long hot soak with a bath bomb.

*Sonic turned to Sally & Nicole*

Sonic: Yo, Nicole! Can you give me Uncle Chuck a call in Spagonia?

Nicole: We were just about to do so. Let's hope their lines are still up.

*Just then, Ben Muttski's face appeared on the screen*

Muttski: H - Hello!?

Sonic: Hey! Muttski! Is the University still standing?

Muttski: Y - Y - Y - Yeah . . . B - But . . .

Sonic: Are you hurt?

Muttski: N - N - No . . .

Sonic: Then shake it off, buddy. I need you. Can you get me in touch with Uncle Chuck? See, I'm thinking the quakes we dealt with in the Great Forest were all connected to what we went through today. Since Uncle Chuck was researching that weird energy-gunk coming from the fissures, I figure he'd know if there was a connection to it all.

Sally: That's rather . . . Astute.

Sonic: Yeah, I'm totally that thing you just called me.

Abigail: Sonic, astute means "Having the ability to accurately assess situations or people and turn this to one's advantage."

Sonic: Oh. Okay.

Muttski: Th - They took them!

Sonic: Whoa! Hold on! Who took who? Who's "they?" Who's "them?"

Muttski: Eggman's Badniks! They kidnapped the professors! Pickle and Chuck! They took their research, their samples . . . They took everything!

*We all gasped in shock. Then we immediately prepared ourselves to save Uncle Chuck & his colleague*
