(Abigail's POV)
*Sonic was laying on the seafloor, growling like a wild animal & teeth turning into fangs. Both of us were struggling to breath & Rotor was trapped in the clutches of a giant monster. Sonic then turned to the monster with murder in his eyes. But before he could attack, the threw Rotor back at him, snapping him out of whatever was happening to him. The three of us then lay on the seafloor, completely out of air*
Abigail:*in her mind* Sonic, Rotor, no! Someone . . . Please . . . Help us . . .
*Then everything went black*
(Third-Person POV)
*Meanwhile, back at the shrine, Razor, Crusher, & Amy were still fighting back the monsters*
Pearly: Razor! The Air Charms Sonic, Rotor, and Abby took might have run out by now!
Razor: Kinda got my hands full here, squirt!
Amy: Razor, Sonic needs me! If I take an Air Ch - *suddenly, the cave ceiling opened & more monsters came falling in* More are coming through the ceiling!
Razor: Guard Pearly and the Chao! I'll cover the temple! We to have to hold out until Coral finishes the rites!
*Inside the shrine, Coral was kneeling in front of the pedestal with Aquarius cocoon on it. Huck flew in to check on her*
Coral: The rites are failing, the Mystic Melody isn't working . . . If only I hadn't failed Aquarius . . . Oh spirits! Please hear me! Please don't let my failings doom so many others! We need miracle! I'm begging you!
*Huck flew in from of her & hugged her*
Huckleberry: Chao-Chao . . .
*Coral smiled sadly & hugged him back. Suddenly, a bright pink light filled with shrine. It took the shape of a person & hugged Coral & Huck*
?:*off-screen* O Priestess. Forgive me for not answering you sooner. The dark powers hinder spirit and mortal alike. You have failed no one. And take heart. For help is on the way!
*Aquarius' cocoon started to glow*
(Abigail's POV)
*Suddenly, I felt air go back into my lungs. I coughed & then looked up. I saw a lifeform with a body made of water-like energy, a round pink brain inside its transparent head, with a brain stem on the bottom, & pupil-less lime green eyes standing over us, encasing us in bubbles of air*
Sonic: Oh, snap! Chaos!
Abigail:*in her mind* Wait? The Chaos. The one who nearly destroyed Station Square? And he . . . Saved us. *out loud* Th - Thank you.
*The God just stared at me for a few seconds & then attacked the monster*
Sonic: Woo-hoo!
Rotor: Get 'em a perfect beat down!
Abigail: Knock it back to the abyss!
*Chaos then attacked the monsters, using the water around it*
Rotor: He just hit that monster with the ocean! Oh! Oh! That's why the oceans didn't drain when the world broke apart! Chaos is controlling it all!
Abigail: That's incredible!
Sonic: Guys? Geek-out time later, save city now!
*Captain Striker then came over to us*
Captain Striker: Th - That's . . . Chaos! The living wave! The Guardian of Chao! You know Chaos!
Sonic: Oh, sure. I helped him with a thing one. I guess Coral used her connections to bring him in.
Abigail: So tell me Cap'n. You still think Coral's a lousy Priestess?
(Third-Person POV)
Meanwhile, back at the shrine, Aquarius hat fully emerged from her cocoon. She now had slightly longer & thinner ears that had mint at around the ends & dark blue at the tips, her halo was purple, she had purple & mint stripes on her torso, & had purple spots on her feet. I could see her pure blue eyes. Coral wept tears of joy as she held Aquarius in her hands. She was so happy, she didn't notice Huck's blushing face as he looked at Aquarius*
Coral: Aquarius! You're alive! Oh, thank you, Spirit! You saved her!
?:*off-screen* No, Priestess. This was all your doing! As Chao grow, they take on many traits. At the end of their cycle, they enter a cocoon and are reborn. This you know. But if a Chaos is cared for exceptionally well, just as you and the previous Priestesses have done, it will evolve into something special. Eternal!
*Coral hugged Aquarius, whose halo turned into a heart*
Coral: With Aquarius . . . I - I can restore the city's protection! I'll need Pearly's help! A - And will you join us, Spirit? Please!?
?:*off-screen* I would be honored, and please . . .
*The spirit was revealed to be . . .*
Tikal: Call me Tikal.
*Coral & Huck ran out of the shrine, but stopped at the door*
Coral: Razor! I need Pearly for the rites!
Huckleberry: Chao-Chao!
Razor: Uh . . . Sure, if you say so. One twerp delivery coming up!
Abigail's POV)
*The three of us joined in to help Chaos fight the monster*
(Third-Person POV)
*Razor picked up Pearly & ran back to the temple*
Pearly: Eeek!?
Razor: C'mon, squirt! Keep your head down!
*He quickly dropped Pearly off at the temple & ran back to the fight*
Pearly: Is that Aquarius? Who's this lady!? What's going on!?
Coral: Pearly, dear? I will answer all that later. I need you to perform the rites with us just like I showed you.
(Abigail's POV)
*Captain Striker even joined in the fight*
(Third-Person POV)
Pearly: Wh - What if I mess up?
Coral: I let my own self doubt stop me from doing my duty. No more. I know we can do it.
Huckleberry: Chao-Chao!
Pearly: O - Okay . . .

*Huck watched in awe as Coral, Pearly, & Tikal used the Mystic Melody, combined with Aquarius' power to activate the power of the temple. It began to glow, making all the monsters disappear*
(Abigail's POV)
*Suddenly, a bright light filled the city, making most of the monsters disappear, except the big one*
Rotor: Tough guy, huh?
Sonic: Let's show him the way out.
Abigail: And give me a one way ticket outta here.
*The four of us attacked the monster all at once & it disappeared. Sonic turned to Chaos*
Sonic: Thanks for all the help, big guy. Think you can stick around for a celebrity appearance?
*Chaos looked a little confused at that*
*Later, we were in the throne room, explaining something to the King & Queen*
Rotor: . . . So then I ran the city's environmental records against our own and compared water samples. Your spike in pollution is coming from the two crashed Eggs Carriers. Not because of Coral. The ocean currents sent it all straight to the city.
Sonic: And I more or less crashed the first one . . .
Amy: The Freedom Fighters promise to help you with the clean up.
Abigail: It's the least we can do.
Huckleberry: Chao-Chao.
Queen Angelica: It is a nobel offer, but we respectfully decline. You've already done so much for us! You drove back the monsters horde and showed us the error of our judgement. We were gravely mistaken in placing so much blame upon Coral. Priestess, we humbly ask you to resume your rightful position and peg the pardon of the mighty Chaos!
Coral: Thank you, Your Grace. I cherish my duties and will happily return to them. And . . . Erm . . . Chaos says all is forgiven. I think . . .
*Just then, Crusher tried to attack Captain Striker & Pearly tried to stop him*
Pearly: No, Crusher! N - No bitey!
*We all laughed*
*Later, at the shrine, we all met with Tikal, who explained what has been going on lately*
Tikal: . . . And I'm sorry I couldn't explain everything earlier. I can only manifest near points of magical power, and even then, with the world in turmoil, it's a struggle. Please, while I have time, listen. A dark energy is poisoning the world. It's what's blocking me, producing the monsters, and turning everyone's hearts cruel. This is the power of the Dark Gaia. You will need the help of the Light Gaia to drive it back. Knuckles and Julie-Su are out looking for him right now.
Sonic: Wow . . . You managed to get Knux to come down from his hunk of rock willingly? Seriously tho'. Any idea where we can find the temples?
Tikal: Sadly, no. But if you reach out to me with the Mystic Melody, you may -
*Before she could finish, she disappeared*
Coral: Just like that, she's gone again. I never got to thank her . . .
Abigail: I'm sure she already knows.
Amy: When she gets her strength back, you'll see her again.
Coral: You'll probably see her before me. I've never seen anyone learn the Mystic Melody so fast.
Amy: Aw, what can I say? I'm gifted!
Abigail: Everybody's gifted in their own way.
*We all went outside, where Rotor was swimming in the nearby pond with Razor. A containment pod was on the shore next to Pearl*
Sonic: Yo, Rote! You ready to roll?
Rotor: Just about! Man, I can't believe the pond the Chao splash in here is a Lake of Rings!
Razor: Well, sure. We use them all the time. Besides, they're just Rings. Useful, sure. But not that uncommon.
Abigail: You should see our Ring Pool back home.
While we were talking, Crusher got into containment pod*
Pearly: N - No, Crusher! No! Th - Those are for our friends!
Huckleberry: Chao-Chao!
*He just growled. Razor got him out as Rotor put in the last Ring*
Rotor: There! We won't have to restore the Sky Patrol's engines for a long while now!
*Pearly cheered*
Sonic: Sure you can spare these?
Razor: We're sure. Least we could do. Sorry our temple here isn't connected to the whole save-the-planet thing.
Abigail: It's okay. Besides, thanks to Tikal, we've got a month better idea of what's going on.
Sonic: Yeah. Coral's caught Amy that Mystic Melody thing. That's gonna be a huge help, narrowing our search down to a few miles instead of, y'know, a few continents. Annnnd I guess at the end of the day, we helped out a bit, too.
Razor:*laugh* Well, you certainly made a difference here. Coral's almost back to her old self again thanks to you. So don't be a stranger. You're welcome here anytime.
Sonic: Thanks. And you guys can visit on the Sky Patrol whenever you want, too!
Razor: Uh-uh? We'll just swim up to whatever part of the sky you're in, huh?
Sonic: That's not . . . We'd pick you up!
*I rolled my eyes. Just then, I noticed something that made me smirk*
Abigail: I think I know someone else who's going to be the most sad about leaving.
*Everyone all turned to look where I was pointing & we all saw Huck giving a flower to Aquarius & blushing. Aquarius seemed to smile at him & Huck blushed harder. The girls & I giggled & the boys looked surprised*
Coral: Oh my. Looks like you all have a another reason to visit.
*I grabbed Huck by his arm & pulled him towards the exit pool*
Abigail C'mon, Romeo. We've got temples to find and a world to save!
Amy: Goodbye everyone! We'll visit as soon as we can! And we'll fill you in on all our adventures!
*We all waved goodbye, dove into the pool, & swam to the beach*
