The Great Chaos Caper 3/4

(Julie-Su's POV)

*We all stared at the creature holding the Chaos Emerald*

Vector: What is it? Some kind of winged chihuahua?

Charmy: It's adorable!

Knuckles: This energy I'm sensing . . . *he looked at me* Su, I think this might be the spirit we've been looking for!

Julie-Su: Seriously? I was expecting something bigger.

Saffron: And look! He found the Chaos Emerald for us!

*Suddenly, he got scared & ran away screaming*

Knuckles: Wait! We're supposed to take to see - !

*Vector ran after him*

Vector: Get back here! You're carrying three months of rent, ya fkyin' rat!

*Charmy grabbed him by the tail*

Charmy: Don't hurt him! He's too cute to hurt!

(Saffron's POV)

*The spirit jumped into a mine cart*

Vector: Sally promised us a fortune for bringing back an Emerald! Give it here, you - !

*He flew out of the bottom of cart & Vector landed in it, flipping it over, getting him a face full of mud. Espio went after him next, but stopped when it went down a narrow tunnel. He started climbing down the wall, slowly*

Espio: Keep on him!

Charmy: You can count on us!

Saffron: We'll get him!

*Suddenly, Charmy hit his face on a metal beam. Then the spirit was trapped by a dead end*

Chip: Oh no! Oh no! No way out!

*We cornered him*

Charmy: There he is . . . I see him! All three of him! Wait . . .

Saffron: Oh dear.

*Suddenly, Knuckles & Julie-Su came out of the wall in-between us, through a tunnel Knuckles had dug*

(Julie-Su's POV)

Knuckles: Hold it! You can finish your job soon enough, but this spirit is under our protection! So quit scarring him to death!

Chip: Y - You're here to . . . Protect me?

Julie-Su: We were sent to find you and help you on your mission.

Chip: So . . . You're not here to steal the Chaos Emerald . . .?

Espio: No. We've been hired to collect the Emeralds so they can be used to save the world.

*The spirit started crying*

Chip: . . . Save the world . . . *then he got really happy* So that's what it's for!

Julie-Su: . . . What?

Chip: Yeah! I've got that thing where you can't remember stuff? "Ambrosia" I think. All I know is I woke up not far from here a few days ago. I found this Chaos Emerald and I've been wandering with it ever since. I know it's important, and I know I'm supposed to do something with it. I just can't remember what . . .

Knuckles:*sigh* The spirit who sent us wondered why you weren't doing your duty. I guess that explains that . . .

Vector: I'm glad this is all comin' together for you. But can we have the Emerald so we can afford groceries now?

*I pushed him back by putting my hand to his snout*

Julie-Su: Keep your headphones on.

*Knuckles & I went up to the spirit. Knuckles shook hands with him*

Knuckles: We're getting you out of here, to someplace safe and to someone who can help you remember who you are.

Chip: Really!? You . . . You'll do that for me?

Julie-Su: Yeah. We'll keep you safe. Just stick with us.

Chip: You got it, Miss Pinkie and Mr. Spikey Hands.

*We started walking down the tunnel. The spirit on Knuckles' head. We let Vector hold the Emerald*

Julie-Su: Name's Julie-Su.

Knuckles: And you can call me Knuckles.

Charmy: Unlike Sonic, he don't chuckle.

*Saffron giggled at that & I rolled my eyes*

Knuckles: Stop that. What do we call you?

Chip: I . . . I don't know! I don't remember anything! (Am I a spirit like you said?)

Charmy: You don't remember anything?

Saffron: That's terrible!

Chip: Nothing . . . Complete? Just bits and pieces. Like a bunch of chocolate chips without a cookie to hold 'em!

Charmy: That's!

*We flinched at that as we were jumping over a tunnel that went down*

Julie-Su: Charmy, so help me, it you make me fall . . .

Charmy: Let's call him "Chip"!

Saffron: That's perfect!

Chip: I love it! You must be some kind of expert!

Vector: Oh, boy . . .

Chip: Yahoo! I am Chip! Spirit of . . . Whatever-I'm-supposed-to-do! That is great! I've got a new name! I've got new friends! I've got a purpose! This is the best day ever!

Knuckles: Don't get too far ahead. This place is a maze, and it's full of - *suddenly, a hand grabbed Chip* Dangers!

*We quickly went around the corner & saw the Hooligans. Bark was holding Chip in his fist. I had my proto gun pointed at them*

Charmy: You guys again? Oh, come on!

Julie-Su: Let. Him. Go!

Nack: Tell you what, you give us the Emerald, and we give you back your fluffy winged thing. We'll even leave him in one piece.

Bean: Doth I detect a shiny!?

*Soon, we were fighting each other. Vector kept a tight grip on the Emerald, Espio tossed his kunai, knocking Nack's pistol out of his hand, Charmy, Saffron, Knuckles, & I went straight for Bark, who was still holding Chip. Just then, he got out of Bark's grip & pushed his hat over his eyes, giving Knuckles the opportunity to punch him in the stomach. He & u did a fist bump*

Chip: Yay! I'm helping!

Julie-Su: Sure are. Leave the real fighting to us, though.

*Bean threw more bombs*

Bean: Wha-ha-ha! Dance croc-o-gator! Dance!

*Suddenly, one of his bombs created an opening in the wall & the tunnel started to flood. Knuckles went to Vector & grabbed the Emerald*

Knuckles: Actually, new plan!

Vector: Hey!

Knuckles: Chip, you get out of here! Fly straight up. You'll see an island floating above everything else. Look for a giant green Emerald. You'll find the help you need there. And if you meet a lady named "Relic," don't be scared. She's a friend.

Chip: B-B-But what about you and Julie-Su!? You said you'd protect me!

Julie-Su: We will! While you get out of here! Go! The world needs you!

Chip: Y - Yes, ma'am, Miss Julie-Su!

Vector: Knux! Su! We're supposed to give that to Sally!

Bean: No! Don't leave me shiny!

*Knuckles punched him in the beak to keep him away from Chip, Bark crashed into Vector, & Nack grabbed Charmy & Saffron by the foot. He then threw then back & dodged a kunai from Espio, who had been invisible this whole time, while he kicked Bean in the head. We came out of the tunnel, only to find something

Vector: Aw, why can't we ever get an easy gig?

*It was a giant version of the monsters we fought in Pumpkin Hill. It was holding a wooden club & standing on Nack's Marvelous Queen. We dodged an attack from it's club*

Knuckles:*koff* Alright, that's it! On your feet, Chaotix! We've handled bigger than this!

Vector: Didn't mean we wanted to . . .

Knuckles: Chip, find a way out! Chaotix, break it's face!

*We all attacked the monster*

Julie-Su: Nack! Get your cowardly tail over here and - Hey!

*He, Bark, & Bean were taking off in their bike with Chip & the Emerald*

Nack: It's been a pleasure as always, 'Su! *suddenly, bombs went off everywhere, closing all the exits except the one they were using* Close the way, Bean!

Bean: It's coming down to the wire! Ten seconds on the clock! All the way from downton!

*He threw a bomb at the entrance to the tunnel & the exploded, blocking the entrance. Suddenly, the room started to flood*

Vector: Y'know, I like my music loud, but . . .

Knuckles: When I get us out of here, I'm gonna -

*Espio pushed us out of the way before the monster's club hit us*

Espio: We'll rescue Chip and recover the Emerald later. Right now, we need to defeat this monster!

Julie-Su: Right. And we need to do it fast. Even if that thing doesn't smash us, we're going to drown!
