Chapter 4

1998 Part 1

January-March 1998

The surgery is a success. The card lists the name as Baby Boy Roberts. Jason waits for Carly to wake up for a name. After she wakes, he explains what happened to her son. He assures her that her son is okay and surgery has corrected his heart condition. She wants Jason to be his father and have his last name.

Jason worries about Carly's postpartum depression. She is unable to hold her son. Carly asks Jason to help her leave town until she feels better.

Brenda suffers from a breakdown. Jax arrives in Paris to see Robin, asking her to return for Brenda's sake. Robin agrees. Robin stays in Port Charles and lives in the Cottage with Brenda. She overhears Emily updating Brenda about 'Jason and Carly's' baby.

Alan continues to abuse prescription pain pills.

Nikolas returns to Wyndmere after recovering from a gunshot wound to the throat. He's healing physically but struggling psychologically. Nikolas lets Lucky know that he is not to blame for his condition. Nikolas still refuses to see Sarah. Emily tries to help Nikolas regain his ability to speak but is unsuccessful. Nikolas doesn't want Sarah's help. Sarah tries to go behind Emily's back to the Quartermaines regarding Emily's friendship with Nikolas and his recovery. Emily asks Robin for help. Nikolas accepts Robin's offer to help. They begin reading books out loud and speaking in French. Robin helps him regain the use of his voice. Sarah is jealous of Robin.

Tony wants payback for Carly betraying him. He believes her son is in danger because of Jason. He calls social services and says that the baby doesn't belong with the father. Bobbie overhears him telling her the mother left town and the father is a known gangster. Bobbie warns Jason. The social worker returns with positive results from her visit, further angering Tony.

The Quartermaines continue to be dysfunctional, not only with business but with Edward wanting Carly's baby. Jason christens the baby and names him Michael Morgan. Mike Corbin and Emily are his godparents.

1/4/1998

Edward wants to get a court order to take the baby away from Carly and Jason because he thinks she is unfit and Jason is a mobster. Ned says, "Grandfather, you will do no such thing. You are not the baby's father. You are his great-grandfather, and you have no rights. I don't care who you pay off; you will not take a child away from his mother or father."

Edward says, "Mark my words; that child will grow up without morals."

Emily snickers, "Because of Carly or Jason? Or maybe because you have no morals?"

Monica says, "She has a point, Edward. The Quartermaines are far from virtuous. This child needs medical care, not bickering. Jason would not want you here. Go home to Lila. I'll let her know to expect you." Edward stomps off.

1/5-10/1998

Jason told Luke that Carly had left town and had placed the baby in his care. Luke wanted to tell Bobbie the truth about Carly, but Jason negotiated a deal in which Luke agreed to give Carly one month to return to Port Charles and tell Bobbie herself. Jason granted Luke's request to let Bobbie help care for the baby.

AJ finds Tony passed out on his doorstep and learns Carly left Port Charles. Tony is furious. AJ tells his father about his one-night stand with Carly. Alan believes his son but still considers Jason to be the favored son. AJ wants no part in being welcomed back into the Quartermaine fold. Edward is determined to buy Carly's baby from her. AJ overhears and warns Jason.

"Jason, I may have made a mistake. I told Dad about my one-night stand with Carly. He believes it happened but prefers you to be the father. I thought things were better with you and the family, but I overheard Grandfather planning to buy Carly's baby. I still believe I could be the father, but I won't do anything until Carly is healthy enough to return; I know you are in a better position to hold off Grandfather than I. If you are helping Carly keep her son away from the family, I support you after what I heard today. Maybe I could visit with your permission. I promise to wait until she returns to request a paternity test."

Jason doesn't confirm or deny AJ's comments.

The Quartermaines gather for the ELQ board meeting. Jason waits inside. They ask about the baby, but Jason tells them he has everything under control and is only there for the meeting. Jax tells Jason only Sonny has the right to be there. Jason shows them all his proxies to vote for Sonny's shares of ELQ. Monica, Ned, and AJ quietly smirk.

Ned has a proposal to renovate the Waterfront. Jason needs the specs to review the project, but Edward says he doesn't need them because they don't need him or his vote to pass the project. Ned interrupts Edward because they do need Jason. After all, he runs the Waterfront. Edward asks Ned if there is someone they can bribe, and Ned laughs and tells him it would be Jason. Jason interrupts and tells Edward he doesn't come cheap. Monica covers a smile.

1/12-1/15/1998

Robin waits for Jason and asks to see the baby. Jason lets her hold him. She asks his name. Robin laughs at 'Baby Boy Morgan' and asks Jason how he wound up with him. (Robin knows Jason is not the father). Jason tells Robin that Carly asked him to care for the baby. He says that Carly will be using the guestroom when she comes back. Robin asks when, but Jason is not sure, only that Carly needed time. Robin is shocked that Carly would leave her baby. Jason tells her the story of what happened with Carly and her PPD. He says, "I probably should have written and told you." Robin thinks he's helping Carly steal the baby from Tony. Jason says, "Tony is not the father; AJ is."

Jason tells her what Carly told him. Robin thinks AJ has a right to know, but Jason doesn't believe anyone owns the baby. "AJ thinks he could be the father but will wait for Carly to return before requesting a paternity test. Edward is getting territorial, and AJ is concerned."

"Wow, if AJ is worried, it must be serious."

"I promised Carly I would take care of the baby until she returns. AJ promised to wait."

Robin's torn on holding the secret but promises to wait until Carly returns.

At the Q house, everyone is preparing for Emily's birthday tomorrow. AJ and Edward get ready to sit down and discuss matters when Tony arrives, announcing that he needs to discuss a plan to get the baby away from Jason before there is a tragedy. Tony tells them Jason isn't capable of emotionally bonding with the baby and is only holding on to the baby because Carly asked him to. Tony plans to get Jason to come over to the Q's with the baby, and when he tries to leave, they will tell Jason he can't leave with the baby. AJ refuses to go along with the plan, saying Jason will never come to the Q house in the first place. Tony and Edward discuss using Emily's birthday party to get Jason to come over. AJ eavesdrops.

AJ calls Jason to warn him of Edward's plans. Jason thanks AJ, "You didn't have to tell me about the Old Man's plans. I know you want to claim paternity."

"Yes, I do, but this is not the way. I have a suggestion that may put Tony and Grandfather in their place."

"I'm listening." AJ and Jason hatch their plan, bringing Justus in on the scheme.

Edward asks Emily to invite Jason to her party. The purpose is that Lila needs to see the baby. Emily agrees to ask Jason and calls him to see if he will attend. Jason agrees to slip in to let Lila see her grandson. Jason feels bad about not letting Emily in on the surprise.

Jason takes the baby to the park for his first day out. Robin tells him she is staying in Port Charles. Robin follows him to the PH and watches Jason give the baby his bottle. Jason clues her in about tomorrow.

1/16-20/1998

The Quartermaine's prepare for Jason's visit. Justus walks in before Jason arrives, saying he forgot to give Emily her present. Lucky and Elizabeth are there for Emily's party. Before Edward can get rid of Justus, Jason arrives with Robin and the baby. Jason lets Lila hold him while he suspiciously eyes Edward. Edward asks Alan to take the baby from Lila; Alan refuses. Jason asks Elizabeth and Lucky to wheel Lila into the sitting room. Edward tries to convince Jason the baby is safer with them. Tony steps into the room. Jason asks why he is there because he knows he's not the father.

Alan says, "I'm disappointed in you, Father. We were getting along with Jason, and you destroyed any trust we built in one hour. I wouldn't blame him if he wants nothing to do with us!"

AJ tells them they won't let Jason leave with the baby. Jason then reaches into his jacket pocket. Justus stands next to Jason, and he hands Edward and Tony restraining orders.

Jason says it's time for him and the baby to leave. AJ walks over to Jason and says, "Grandfather, Tony, It didn't have to be this way. Robin has her uncle on speed dial. Her finger is ready to press the button. Neither of you has a claim to the baby."

Edward scoffs, "I can't believe you and Justus would betray your own. Mark my words."

Emily enters and overhears the transaction. "Grandfather! How could you do this? You used me to get to Jason. I'll never forgive you!"

Ned and Monica arrive. Monica asks Emily to explain what they did. Emily recounts the whole story. Ned is also surprised about the lengths Edward would go to to take the baby.

Justus tells Jason not to worry; he could have them put in jail for kidnapping. Jason says, "Take your last look because you will never see the baby again!" Jason finds Lila with the baby, Elizabeth, and Lucky. He asks Robin to give the teens a ride home and says he will call her later.

Lila says, "Jason, my darling. I am so sorry for what Edward did. I'll make sure he doesn't bother you again."

"Grandmother, I don't blame you for his actions. I hope you get to see the baby another time."

Justus tells Edward not only has he lost Jason and the chance ever to see the baby, but he has just lost him, too. Edward shouts, "If you walk out that door, don't bother coming back!"

"That's just fine with me!"

Emily runs after him, pleading for him to let her go with him. Emily runs upstairs to her bedroom, preparing to leave through the window.

Justus follows Jason to the PH. He tells him he has left ELQ. Jason offers Justus a job and PH2 across the hall, rent-free. Justus takes the key but agrees to pay his way. Emily shows up and apologizes; Jason tells her she doesn't need to apologize. Emily says it's her fault, and she's left the Quartermaines. She wants to stay with him. Jason agrees to a temporary basis.

Meanwhile, a box is delivered to Jason, along with a card. It's a chocolate cake from Robin for his 2nd birthday. He tells Emily how Sonny made him one last year. It's been two years since he woke up from the accident. Emily asks about Robin and if they are back together. Jason says no. Jason reads the card. "Jason, I'm sorry about earlier. Edward was wrong. I understand why you don't want to tell. I still think AJ should know, but I won't say anything for now. Robin."

Monica checks on Emily, finding a note saying she's gone to live with Jason. Monica arrives at the PH. She tries to apologize. Jason holds up his hand to stop her. "Monica, Emily assures me you and Alan weren't aware of Edwards's plans. AJ tipped me off, but I'm not changing my mind after Edward's actions. I'm thankful to you for your advice on the surgery. The baby would not have survived without it. I won't be returning to the mansion. Emily wants to stay with me. I urge you to agree. She says she will run away if forced to go back."

"I want to see her. Alan and I understand Emily's anger. She can stay with you for a few days, but Emily is our daughter. We get to worry about her safety. Your son is your concern. I hope you understand the difference."

Jason sighs, allows Monica entrance, and says, "She's upstairs. I do understand your concern. You aren't wrong, but I can't turn her away. Let her stay a few days; hopefully, she will want to go home."

Monica heads upstairs, "Thank you, Jason."

She visits with Emily. Emily says, "I know you had nothing to do with what happened, but I'm embarrassed to call them my family."

Monica chuckles. "I agree, but they are still your family, warts and all."

"Things are simpler at Jason's; I want to stay here."

"Em, honey, they really aren't simpler here. Please come home."

"Before I do, you must promise me one thing: that this will never happen again."

"I wish I could, Em, but the Quartermaines are unpredictable. They will backstab you one moment, and the next, they will kill to protect you."

"Well, I'm staying. I can't act like it never happened. I know I'll eventually have to come home, but not right now."

"Okay, but we must talk daily and meet on neutral grounds. Your father and I will speak with Edward."

Monica leaves, and Jason asks Emily if she's okay. Emily replies, "No, but I will be. Thank you, Jason." Emily calls Elizabeth and tells her she's staying with her brother for a few days.

Monica tells Alan, "My main concern is getting Emily back in the house and getting her to trust us again. I spoke with Emily, and it is more serious than we realize. I agreed to give her some time."

"Father means well, but he fucked up this time. No matter how often we've told him Jason wants to be distanced from the family, he pulls this stunt. I told him he may have cost us Jason for good."

"Don't forget Emily won't forgive Edward."

1/21-2/10/1998

Lila visits Emily to convince her to forgive Edward. Emily agrees to move back into the mansion but can't forgive her grandfather until he's proved he's changed. Jason returns, and Lila tells him Emily is moving back and hopes he isn't upset. Jason tells her he isn't upset. He only wants what is best for Emily.

Edward visits Justus. He apologizes and justifies his actions in trying to get the baby from Jason. Edward also tries to get Justus back in the fold, but Justus tells him it doesn't matter what he says; he is through with the Quartermaines. Edward warns Justus about the dangers of working for Jason. Justus says he is done with everything because he has lost all respect for himself listening to Edward.

Jason expresses concern over the baby's safety. Jason asks Justus if Carly would get the baby if he died. Justus explains that since Carly hasn't shown any concern for the child yet, she won't get custody. Jason tells Bobbie and Mike if something happens to him, he won't wait for Carly to return. Justus is drafting a document to keep the Quartermaines and Tony from taking the baby. Jason asks Bobbie to take custody if something happens. He asks Bobbie for a home care nurse, and she offers her services.

Sarah visits Emily. Sarah tells her she's worried about Nikolas and asks her to go and see him. She also wants to know if he's read her letter.

Emily visits Nikolas and mentions she saw Sarah. He gets annoyed, and Emily tells him he can't act like she doesn't exist. She wants to know if he read her letter. Nikolas says he read the letter. He claims he didn't think anything about it, and Emily doesn't believe him. She doesn't think it's fair to Sarah but agrees to leave them alone.

Sarah shows up at Emily's again. Emily has other things on her mind and says, "Sarah, I will not be your messenger anymore. Nikolas read the letter; he didn't have much of a reaction. I think he still cares for you. Either talk to Nikolas yourself or leave him alone."

Emily asks Elizabeth to cover for her if the Quartermaines call. Emily promises to tell her why later. Emily sneaks back into the house to change her dress for the baptism. Ned catches her and tells Emily he knows where she is going and he will keep her secret as long as she tells Jason he said "Hello."

Carly walks in towards the end of the christening, and Jason hands the baby to Emily. Carly continues to exhibit signs of PPD.

2/11/1998

At the PH, Carly tells Bobbie she wants her son and is ready to hold him. Bobbie says okay, and they will use her car to go to the Grille. Carly asks Bobbie why she is helping her. "Twenty-three years ago, I didn't have a choice as far as my daughter was concerned, but you do. I want to help you. What you do after that is up to you." Carly tells her she will never forget Bobbie's help.

The Port Charles Grille

Carly and Bobbie arrive at the Grille, and Carly says she's ready to hold her son. Jason gives Michael to Carly. Carly looks at Bobbie strangely. Bobbie asks her what is wrong, and Carly tells her she is her daughter, Caroline. "I'm your daughter, Bobbie. I wasn't going to tell you, but when I saw how much you love Michael, I felt you should know your grandson."

Bobbie believes she is relentless and keeps on destroying their lives. Frustrated for Michael with the yelling, Jason takes him back and leaves the dining area. Carly says, "I was angry at you for giving me up, and I want to apologize."

"The little girl I gave up is dead."

"I'm not dead. I'm not the only one who has lied to you. Luke found out months ago."

Outside PC Grille parking lot.

Robin steps into Jason's limo; he's sitting with the baby. She tells him things aren't going well inside, and Jason says he already knows. Robin asks if it's true, and he tells her it is. Robin says, "Please tell AJ that Michael is his son or what's going on with Carly and Bobbie could happen to them one day. "Do you want them to get caught up in the lies and betrayals?"

"I don't want to make things worse for Carly. I know what the Quartermaines are like and what they are capable of. Can I drive you home?"

Robin sighs, "Okay, thank you. Do you want to keep Michael?"

"Robin, you can't keep a person. I love Michael and will protect him as long as he's with me."

"What about Carly? She is his mother. Are you saying she can't keep him like AJ can't keep him? When that person is a baby, they can't make choices. You said you can't keep a person, but you will keep him safe. That is what love is. You never gave AJ a chance to prove he could be a good father. Away from Edward, perhaps that could happen."

"Robin, I promised Carly. It's her decision."

"Okay, I'll let it go for now."

Elizabeth

2/12-14/1998

Elizabeth walks up to Audrey at the 5th Floor Nurses station at GH. She is upset about life. Audrey asks her what is wrong.

"Gram, "I don't have a date for the Valentine's Day dance."

"What about Lucky Spencer? He's a charming young man."

"Lucky would never ask me. Lucky loves Sarah. Everyone loves Sarah, and no one has said 'boo' to me. Even I like her sometimes, despite how perfect she is."

"She has a lot of fine qualities, but so do you."

"Name one."

"I'll name several. You have a very wonderful, creative sense of humor. You are more self-sufficient than you realize. You are bright but don't want people to know. Sarah has always had it easy due to the coddling Carloyn gave her. Jeff tried compensating, but he was more realistic. Sometimes, I worry he gives you too much freedom. You enjoy taking advantage of his leniency. He tries to make up for what your mother did to you. Sarah, I never have to worry about it. She's not perfect, but she follows the rules."

Elizabeth snorts at how little her Grams know about the perfect favored teenager. Sarah appears perfect to others, but she has occasionally gone behind Emily's back. At least Elizabeth does her scheming upfront. "You are right, Gram. I'll try harder to be like Sarah."

"That is not what I said, Elizabeth. You are unique." Audrey then talks Liz into asking Lucky to the dance.

Elizabeth goes to Kelly's and talks with Ruby. Aftersome small talk, Elizabeth asks Lucky if he will attend the Valentine's Day dance. Lucky says he is; she asks him if they could meet there and hang out together. Lucky tells her okay, that it sounds cool. Elizabeth leaves and returns to the hospital to tell Audrey the great news. "Oh, no. I don't have a dress. Could you help me find one? Dad has no taste when it comes to teenage dresses. Will you go shopping with me? Please?" Audrey agrees and is glad Elizabeth is coming to her for help.

Since Nikolas has given her the cold shoulder, Sarah asks Lucky if he wants to take her to the dance. Lucky asks about Nikolas, and Sarah says they aren't together. Lucky asks if it is an actual date. Sarah tells him it is and asks if that is okay with him. Lucky says yes, he was only planning to meet friends there.

Audrey and Elizabeth arrive at the Hardy house after buying a dress for the dance. Elizabeth is excited. Audrey goes upstairs to get something for her to wear with the dress. While Audrey is upstairs, Lucky calls and asks Elizabeth if it would be okay for him to bring someone to the dance as their plan to meet at the dance wasn't an actual date. "I'm taking Sarah. You can tag along unless you have better plans."

Elizabeth hides her disappointment, lies, and says, "I can't go with you and Sarah because Matt just called and asked me to go to the dance with him."

Lucky says, "That is great! Sarah and I will see you there."

Audrey comes downstairs with her gift for Elizabeth. Elizabeth says, "I changed my mind. I think I'm coming down with the flu. I'll go home to Dad."

"Absolutely not! You are having nerves. I want to show you something that would look great with your dress. Your Gramps gave me this bracelet when we first started dating seriously." Audrey puts the bracelet on Elizabeth and tells her it is for good luck.

Elizabeth thanks her Gram and returns home. She dresses, and Elizabeth says, "Dad, I'm meeting Lucky and Sarah at Kelly's."

"Elizabeth, you look beautiful. Have a wonderful time. I'm working in the ER at GH tonight, but I want you home by 10 pm."

"Okay, Dad. Bye."

2/14/1998

Robin goes to the bridge and looks out onto the water. She takes out a Valentine and throws it into the water. She remember when she and Jason met at the bridge. She hears a noise and turns around to see Jason. Robin asks him why he is there.

"I was thinking of you. What did you throw into the water?"

"It's a silly custom. You write a wish down, throw the paper off a bridge into the water, and it's supposed to come true."

"I hope it comes true for you."

"It won't, because nothing will change." She smiles sadly. "I miss you. She kisses him and tries to leave.

Jason grasps her arm. "It's getting late. I don't want you walking alone. Where is your car?

Robin tells him it is on the other side of the park. Jason says, "I'll walk you there."

Continue 2/14-3/1/1998

Elizabeth leaves the movie early and walks through the park. She finds a bench and munches on her popcorn. She pulls her wrap tightly around her. She checks her watch, knowing she has time before curfew. She wipes a tear from her eye. She thinks, "Once again, Sarah got all the attention. She's mad at Nikolas and shows interest in Lucky. He didn't give me a second look when she said she wanted to go to the dance with him. 'After all, it's not like we had a real date.' Thanks, Lucky; I'm glad you found your priorities."

Warning: Graphic details of Elizabeth's rape at age 15.

A gloved hand covers Elizabeth's mouth, and she can't scream. She feels a strong frame taller than her behind her. He lifts her petite body off the bench, dragging her into the bushes. She feels the thorns digging into her arms. The strap on her left shoe broke, and the bushes shredded her pantyhose. He rips off her spaghetti straps. He reaches under her dress and places his hand under it, yanking down her panties. Elizabeth kicks and scratches his arm, and he briefly releases his grip on her. She screams and lunges forward. He regains control. He hisses, "Not another word. I like it when they resist. It's more fun for me."

Elizabeth allows her body to go limp and become dead weight. The masked man throws her to the ground and pins her arms behind her. Elizabeth tries to knee him, and he smacks her across the face. "I told you it excites me when they put up a fight." Tears streaming down her cheeks, Elizabeth gives up fighting. She tries studying his eyes. They look cold and dark brown. She estimates his height and body weight like her father taught her. The man slaps her. "Stop looking at me, or I'll smack you again. He pulls up her dress, and she squeezes her eyes tight. She hears him unzipping his pants. He forces her legs apart with his knees and straddles her. Elizabeth braces herself for the sharp pain between her legs. He thrusts himself inside her, over and over. He zips up his pants and says, "You are stronger than I thought, but in the end, I broke you. I made you bleed. I hope I was your first. You will remember me. You shouldn't dress like that or be alone in the park at night. Enjoy your Valentine's Day little girl."

Elizabeth waits until she hears the crunch of his boots walking away, the sound getting softer.

Jason holds Robin's hand as they cross the park to Robin's car. "Robin, I miss you too. I'm sorry for everything with Carly."

Robin says, "Do you hear that? There's a rustling behind those buses."

"Stand back," Jason pulls out his gun, and Robin sees a young girl crawling from the bushes.

"Jason, put your gun away. A girl is in trouble." Elizabeth lifts her head, showing vacant blue eyes. "Oh my god! That is Elizabeth Webber. She's friends with Emily, isn't she?"

"Yes. Is she? Did she…"

"Elizabeth, It's Robin Scorpio. Are you hurt? Jason, Emily's brother, is here. Can we take you to the hospital?

Elizabeth backs away. "No, no, no. I can't go to GH. My father will be there. I lost my Gram's bracelet. I can't leave until I find it. My Gramps gave it to her." She's holding one red shoe.

"Jason, will you lend her your jacket? It's freezing. Elizabeth, let us take you to Mercy. Until you are ready, your family doesn't need to know. It's important to gather any evidence to catch this guy."

"I'm not admitting to anything that happened."

Robin kneels next to Elizabeth and wraps Jason's jacket around her. "Listen, at least let them check for DNA, even if all you admit to is being mugged. Mercy won't report anything until you want to, but if you wash away evidence, I swear you will regret it for the rest of your life. Let Jason and I take you to Mercy. He can drop us off if you are uncomfortable with him, and I'll stay with you."

"Robin, Emily likes you. Can I trust you?"

"Yes, you can trust both of us."

Jason says, "Elizabeth, if you allow me to carry you, it will be faster to the car. Elizabeth nods and agrees. Jason picks up her light frame and gingerly carries her to Robin's car.

While Jason drives, Robin says, "Elizabeth, there are two things I want you to consider. A doctor can prescribe a Plan B pill, more commonly known as the morning-after pill. Something important you should know. A couple of years ago. I tested positive for HIV. I had unprotected sex with my boyfriend. Your grandfather and Dr. Quartermaine treated me with kindness and acceptance. If you don't let yourself get tested, you could end up like me. But I have options, and my viral load is nearly nil. My life would have turned out differently if I weren't proactive."

"I never said anything happened, and I won't if they ask."

They arrive at Mercy, and Robin calls for an emergency forensics test. Jason kisses Robin and says, "I'll call Johnny and have him take me home. If you need me, I'll return."

Robin sighs, and a tear falls. She looks over to Elizabeth. "Hellva Valentine's Day."

Robin holds Elizabeth's hand during the procedure. Elizabeth grimaces and stiffens when the doctor inserts the speculum and scrapes tissue and DNA. The nurse draws blood and labels the vial for an HIV test. The nurse explained that Elizabeth would need to be retested in six months. She offers Elizabeth a Plan B pill. Robin convinces Elizabeth to allow them to take photos, but no one will know unless Elizabeth changes her mind. A technician takes samples from under her nails. A nurse cleans her wounds and allows her to shower; they take her clothes and offer her a pair of scrubs. The nurse hands Robin a ziplock bag of Elizabeth's red shredded dress and one red shoe.

Detectives Taggert and Garcia walk in as Robin leads Elizabeth toward the ER doors. Elizabeth hides behind Robin and mutters, "No, no, no. I don't want anyone to know."

Taggert knows this girl. He's seen her sitting on a bench near Pier 51, gazing over the water. His eyes widen. This teenage girl has a bruise on her left cheek and scrapes and scratches over her arms. The hospital called the PCPD in a Jane Doe rape. He immediately knows it is Dr. Webber's daughter.

Elizabeth cries, "No one can know. Robin, you promised."

Robin glares at Taggert. "If Elizabeth agrees, you can interview her. You must file this as a Jane Doe rape, or I will report you to my Uncle Mac. I'll ensure he puts you on desk duty for six months."

"Ms. Scorpio, I promise to handle Ms. Webber's case respectfully. Elizabeth, can I ask you some questions?"

Elizabeth looks pleadingly at Robin. She wipes her eyes and nods.

Taggert asks Elizabeth what happened. She explains her attack to the detectives in detail. "This wouldn't have happened if I wasn't in the park by myself this late. He said I shouldn't have been wearing that dress. It was my fault. If Lucky Spencer hadn't ditched me for my sister, I wouldn't have lied, saying I had a date. It's my fault no one wanted to take me to the dance."

Robin holds back her tears. "Elizabeth, this is not your fault. You did not deserve to be attacked. It doesn't matter what you were wearing. The person to blame is the man who….raped you. I know you don't want to say it, but when you do, you press charges if they find a suspect. Taggert, can I take her home?"

Taggert nods and apologizes for his questions. "Elizabeth, I will not list your name in the formal report. If you change your mind, I can amend it. I am very sorry this happened to you."

Robin drives Elizabeth home and asks her if she wants her to come and help Elizabeth tell her father.

Elizabeth protests at first but then gives in.

Jeff says, "Elizabeth, you are over an hour late. I was about to call the police. Sarah arrived home an hour….Oh my god, what happened?" Jeff finally looked up when Elizabeth walked into the room with Robin.

Robin helps Elizabeth to the couch and sits next to her. "Dr. Webber, I don't know if you remember me from last year at your father's service, but I'm here to support Elizabeth."

"Of course, I know you. Emily Quartermaine is Elizabeth's friend, and I saw you with Jason Morgan, her brother."

Jeff listens to his daughter. He embraces her and tells Elizabeth he will support her no matter what. Elizabeth sobs in her father's arms. Robin writes her number and hands it to Elizabeth. "Call me if you need to talk, day or night; I'm here for you."

Robin drives home to the cottage and calls Jason. He asks, "How is she."

"She's a survivor. She agreed to an exam and submitted evidence. She's fifteen years old! Taggert arrived and was respectful with his questioning. Jason, her attack was brutal." Robin recounts Elizabeth's statement. "The way Elizabeth described him, it sounds like he has done this before."

"I could strangle Lucky. If he had been with her, this might not have happened."

"Jason, Lucky isn't to blame. He's a kid; he didn't think it was a date. It's not Elizabeth's fault either. It's the monster who did this to Elizabeth. She kept asking about her grandmother's bracelet. She's in shock; she's more worried about the bracelet than herself. She cried and said her Gram would be disappointed in her."

Sarah overheard Elizabeth's confession to their father. Sarah asks, "Liz, what can I do for you? You can sleep in my bed tonight. I am so sorry I didn't ask you to join us at the dance."

Elizabeth says, "Why was that Sarah? You knew I liked Lucky. He canceled on me when you asked him to be your date. I wouldn't have been alone if he wanted me there."

Sarah feels guilty and says, "When you weren't at Kelly's after the dance, Lucky asked Matt about you. He denied taking you. We tried you at home but got the machine. I went home, and Lucky went looking for you. He called before you arrived. I can call and tell him you are safe."

"Sarah, promise me you won't say anything to Lucky. I don't want him to know."

"I'm sorry for everything; I won't tell Gram either. I'll follow your lead on what you decide."

Jason visits Elizabeth the next day and tells her he will help if she needs anything. He searched for and found her grandmother's bracelet and fixed the clasp. He also discovered her discarded cell phone. "I'm sorry this happened to you. It is not your fault. Please believe no one deserves to be treated that way."

Elizabeth skips school. Jeff writes an excuse, and Sarah gives it to the principal. Emily brings her homework. "Liz, Sarah was evasive when I asked why you weren't in class. Lucky was asking questions."

Elizabeth is wearing a turtleneck sweater and covers herself with make-up around her cheeks. "I think I'm getting over the flu. I'll be back on Monday.

Emily says, "Get well soon." She hugs her, and Elizabeth winces. "Elizabeth, what's wrong?" Emily pulls up Elizabeth's sleeves and gasps. What happened?"

Elizabeth breaks down and tells her everything, including Robin and Jason finding her. Please don't say anything at school. Only my dad and Sarah know."

Emily wipes a tear away. "I promise, Liz. I won't say anything.

Lucky asked why she wasn't in class. Sarah and Emily said that Elizabeth had the flu.

When Elizabeth returned to work at Kelly's, Lucky saw the faded bruises. Elizabeth finally tells Lucky what happened. He is very apologetic. He feels terrible for not knowing she was missing that night. Elizabeth says, "Yeah, you were more interested in Sarah. You didn't even notice until after the dance."

"Elizabeth, I'm sorry. I was wrong. I should have included you. After the dance, I realized Sarah was still hung up on Nikolas."

"So it took Sarah rejecting you to realize I wasn't at the dance?"

"Yes, what can I do to make it up to you?"

Elizabeth pretends to accept his apology. "Lucky, don't worry, I'm fine, but I'd rather be alone."

Elizabeth returns to school, and with Robin's support, she attends group therapy in the afternoons. She has weekly counseling sessions with Gail Baldwin. When Elizabeth cries that she was a virgin before the rape, Gail explains that rape is about power and violence, not sex. Eventually, she tells her Grams. Audrey tells her to move on and forget it happened. Elizabeth is deeply hurt until her father explains Audrey's past with her ex-husband.

Elizabeth makes a formal statement with Jeff and her sister by her side. At the police station, they sit down with Garcia and Dara, and she reveals what happened to her that night. Elizabeth says she remembers a particular scent of the attacker. It's not alcohol or aftershave. Garcia and Dara tell her they will check to see if there are any other similar cases. Letting out a sigh of relief, she walks out with her family. Her father tells her he is proud of her.

The Outback

Keesha tells Robin she and AJ may be getting back together again.

Jason and Carly are having dinner. Robin walks up, and Jason tells her the baby recognizes her. Carly isn't happy to hear that. Robin holds Michael and tells Carly she is glad Carly is back because a parent shouldn't miss out on any time with their child. Robin says goodbye.

Carly guesses that Robin knows Jason is not the father of her baby and asks him if he told her. Jason says, "I didn't have to tell her. Robin knows me and just knew I wasn't the father. Robin thinks the baby should be with you and AJ." Carly is nervous that Robin will tell. Jason reassures her she won't; Robin will not betray him. "I trust Robin with my life."

Monica stops by and tells them she has a gift for Michael. Carly says, "Don't bother. Michael has everything he needs." Jason is disturbed by her rudeness.

Monica asks Jason if she can hold the baby. Jason says yes. Carly grimaces while Monica holds and talks to Michael. Monica thanks them and leaves. Carly says, "Why did you let her hold the baby? Monica is a Quarrtermaine, and Edward wants my baby."

Carly, we are in the middle of the restaurant. Renaldo is standing guard. Monica won't take Michael and run. Monica is the reason Michael is healthy. I took her advice on the surgery."

2/24-28/1998

Jason leaves Carly with Letecia at the PH and walks to PH2 to discuss business with Justus. He says he's not giving up control of the docks and will not let Jax win.

Jax sits down at Ned's table at the Port Charles Grill. He wants to know what happened with Jason because he is holding up with the dock renovations. Ned hasn't met with Jason yet, and Jax tells him he will ensure Jason is no longer a factor in this project. Ned warns Jax this could blow up in their face if he starts running his mouth.

Jason tells Benny he got the Quartermaines to renovate the docks in stages. Justus wants to go over some contracts, but Jason has something else on his mind. He tells Justus he's losing support when he needs it most. Justus admits he's heard some things, and Jason wants to know why he didn't tell him.

Justus tells Jason he is young, and some people don't trust him. Jason can not lose the docks; they're half his revenue. Justus lets Jason know he can't be without a lawyer, and he has had the time of his life since he started helping him. He is here as long as he needs him. Justus leaves.

Ned arrives and tells Jason he can't afford to not meet with him. There's big trouble at the docks, and it's dangerous. Ned tells Jason that Jax is determined to push him out with force. Jason asks if he'd put a hit on him. Ned doesn't want to see Jason get hurt. Jason says, "Jax doesn't understand the people who need his backing. They want to run drugs through the shipping lanes. Jason deals with resistance from his own people, Jax and the Quartermaines.

Justus tells Jason he's not going to like this. He has a meeting with them on Friday, and if he goes, he probably won't be coming back. Jason asks what he's doing wrong, and Justus tells him they see him as a soldier, not a leader. He's got to look like a leader and carry himself. Justus leaves, and Carly comes down. He says he needs her help; he asks if she would shop for him.

Justus brings Jason a copy of his will that would give Carly a lot of money should she need it to fight the Quartermaines for Michael. Justus tries to get Jason to change his mind about attending his meeting, but Jason tells Justus he must go regardless of the outcome. "I can't run like Sonny did to escape the mob because I would have had to have planned it out in advance. My leaving would get me killed." Justus pleads with Jason to allow him to accompany him, but Jason refuses, "You aren't in far enough to where they would come after you if I'm killed."

Jason visits Mike to ask him to look after Michael should he not return from his meeting. Mike is concerned because he doesn't want to lose two people. Jason tells Mike he will be needed to keep the Quartermaines away from Michael. "If something happens to me, tell Robin I love her and I'm sorry."

Jason's meeting begins, and he reveals what he has planned for the organization. Once he is finished, They tell Jason they all know what he has planned, but that isn't the reason for the meeting. The reason for the meeting is to have Jason replaced. Jason says, "That will never happen. I have control of the docks, and Sonny signed everything over to me. I have insurance to prevent you from taking control. If something happens to me, evidence will go to the PCPD."

3/2/-12/1998

Carly is at the PH when Robin arrives to talk to Jason. Carly tells her he isn't there and asks if she can give Jason a message. Robin says, "No, I need to talk to Jason alone." Robin turns to leave when Carly asks her if she plans on telling AJ Michael is his son. "I'm trying to protect Jason from getting hurt when you take Michael away."

"I'd never do that to Jason. You, on the other hand, pretend to be so saintly. I will never let you break up my family. Jason, Michael, and I are a family." Robin reminds Carly that Jason isn't Michael's father. "Jason is Michael's father in every way that counts."

Robin believes AJ has a right to know. "AJ will find out eventually. The truth always does. The longer it takes, the worse it will be. Remember how things went down with Bobbie?"

Carly yells at Robin, "You are only here to protect yourself. You are jealous that Jason is happy with me and the baby. I know why you left Jason. It's because you don't approve of his lifestyle, but you think he'll always love you. I have something you can never give him. I'm giving him a chance to move on from a sexless life with you, and I will be there to take back my claim."

"You are deluding yourself."

"I live in the PH, and Jason loves Michael. Jason promised always to take care of Michael, which means he will take care of me."

"It was a mistake coming here. I'll find Jason myself."

Robin gets to the bridge, and Jason shows up. Robin asks if something happened; he says it did, but he can't tell her about it. She tells Jason she realizes she can't tell him what to do but still thinks AJ should know. "I'm not going to tell AJ."

"Thinking of Michael is like thinking of you. I never thought I could love anyone the way I love you."

Robin wipes away a tear, "Are you happy?"

"Yes, but not when I think about not being with you."

Carly rocks Michael and reassures him that they will be okay. Jason comes home, and she tells him that Robin stopped by and wants to tell AJ.

"I know. I saw her. She's not saying anything. Did you two argue? You have no idea what she's suffered, and I'm not talking about her HIV status. You don't know Robin, I do. Don't goad her."

Lucky is trying to make amends for Valentine's Day. He calls Elizabeth and asks if she wants to go to a movie. She tells him no; she doesn't feel like being in a dark theater. Lucky offers to bring over a movie for them to watch, and she agrees.

Elizabeth falls asleep during the movie. She dreams about the attack. Lucky tries to wake her, and she yells, "Get away from me!" thinking he is her attacker. Elizabeth wakes and tells Lucky about her dream. "It's my fault because I didn't fight back hard enough."

"It's not your fault. I've gotten to know you, and you are a fighter. You don't give up. I can stay until you fall asleep."

"Thanks, Lucky, but Sarah is here, and my dad will be home soon. This was a mistake; you should go home."

Carly interrupts Jason while working and tells him about Michael smiling at her. She realizes she made him smile. Tony arrives as Carly and Jason talk about how good a mother she is. Tony tells Carly he is leaving town. Tony leaves after telling Carly what a horrible mother she is. Jason tells her not to believe Tony.

Tony tells Bobbie he must leave town to break the destructive cycle he has been in since BJ died. Tony talks to Lucas about why he is leaving and tells him he is moving to San Francisco.

Letecia, Michael's nanny, has the day off. Jason offers to take Michael for the day, but Carly tells him she'll be okay. She needs to start acting like his mother. Jason has a meeting at the docks, and Carly wants to have lunch at the Port Charles Grill. Jason accepts the invite, and he leaves for his meeting.

Stefan visits Robin and tells her he is thankful she helped Nikolas, but her services are no longer needed. "It's not necessary to see my nephew anymore."

"I think Nikolas could benefit from more therapy." Stefan then tries to pay Robin off, but she refuses his check. "I don't need your money, Mr. Cassidine. Nikolas and I are friends, and we will stay that way."

Carly arrives with Michael at the Grill early and waits for Jason. A call comes from someone claiming to be Edward Quartermaine. Carly leaves to take the call. The line is dead, and she returns to her table. Michael is gone.

Carly searches and screams for her missing son. Jason arrives and asks what happened. He runs outside for a minute and then comes back. He wants her to explain everything. She tells him about the mysterious call from Edward. Jason believes this could be someone in the organization trying to get back at him. He doesn't want anyone to know about this, especially the police.

Carly barely listens to him, and he makes her see things his way. He instructs her to go and find the desk clerk and tell him it was all a misunderstanding. Taggert and Garcia walk in (too late to hide it from the police).

Taggert and Garcia got a call about a missing baby. Carly tells them that her child is missing. Garcia asks her to remember everything, and she gets upset again. Taggert tells Jason he brought this upon himself, leaving the baby alone with his mother. Taggert guesses it was someone trying to get back at Jason. They will wait for a ransom call.

Bobbie walks in and asks the detectives if it's true. They want to know how she found out, and she tells them Carly called her. Carly says it was before Jason told her to keep it quiet. Bobbie accuses Carly of leaving the baby on purpose and thinks this wasn't an accident. Carly yells at Bobbie, and Jason tells her to keep quiet. Bobbie has tears in her eyes and promises not to say a word. She offers her help, but Carly tells her to go to hell. Carly fears that maybe Bobbie is right, but Jason doesn't believe that. He wants them to go home.

Sarah calls Wyndemere, and Katherine answers. Sarah heard about Nikolas's progress and wants to speak with him. Katherine informs her that he's recovered and is coming to see her. Excited, she hangs up. Nikolas goes to Sarah's house and tells her he's sorry; the two embrace. Sarah is glad to see Nikolas is feeling better. He apologizes for not seeing her. He was embarrassed and frustrated. Sarah tells Nikolas about school and tells him they can still have fun. He gets up to leave and promises to call her later on. He kisses her goodbye. Elizabeth waits for the front door to shut before getting details from her sister. She hugs Sarah and says she is happy for her.

Taggert wants to put a tap on the phone. Jason refuses and argues with Taggert. Taggert leaves, telling Jason it will be his fault if Michael dies. Jason retorts if Taggert hinders his investigation and Michael dies; he will sue the PCPD.

As they wait at the PH for a call from the kidnappers, an anxious Jason and Carly decide to confront their prime suspects.

Jason storms into his family's mansion with Carly in tow and demands that Edward return Michael. Alarmed to learn about the baby's abduction, the Quartermaines deny that they had a hand in the crime.

Taggert and Garcia quiz Edward about his earlier attempts to steal his great-grandson. Listening to Edward's emotional remarks about baby Michael, Jason realizes he was mistaken in accusing his grandfather.

Carly guesses that Tony took her baby out of revenge. Carly asks Jason to make Tony admit he took Michael, and Jason says he isn't ready yet. Jason tells Justus if Tony took Michael, he is okay because Tony doesn't want to hurt him. Jason says he has had a tail on Tony since the night of the kidnapping.

Tony is at his office when Carly bursts in, accusing him of having Michael. Tony seems surprised that Michael is gone and tells Carly he doesn't have him. Carly starts to threaten Tony and hits him when Bobbie walks in and stops her. Tony leaves, and Bobbie tries to calm Carly down.

Tony returns, and he and Bobbie discuss the kidnapping. Tony asks her how much the police know about the abduction, and Bobbie says not much. Tony tries to comfort Bobbie and offers to postpone his move. Bobbie says thanks, but the kidnapping has nothing to do with him so he can leave.

Carly says she isn't sure Tony took Michael, and Jason tells her if she is right about Tony, she needs to stay out of it so he can do his job.

3/13-17/1998

At the PC Grille, Sarah tells Nikolas how much she missed him. She also asks why he never wrote back despite reading her letter. Nikolas tells her it was because it would have been like her receiving a letter from a kindergartner. They continue to talk, but Nikolas stops in the middle of one of his sentences when he sees Robin and Jax walk in. Nikolas tells Sarah they will have to stop by Robin's table and say "hello," Sarah is surprised, telling him she doesn't realize he and Robin are friends. Nikolas explains Robin is the reason he can speak again. Elizabeth asks Sarah about Nikolas and Robin. Sarah tells her how she helped him with his speech and that she cannot compete with her.

Tony is at his cabin when Jason's men barge in and jump him. Their search comes up empty. Jason asks him where Michael is. Tony tells him he doesn't have Michael and doesn't know where he is. Jason doesn't believe him and tells Tony he is lying.

At the PH, Luke waits for Carly. He tells Carly that it isn't her fault that Michael was kidnapped, but she should have known better than to leave him for a second, considering the nature of Jason's business.

Edward arrives and tries to comfort Carly, telling her he came over to keep her company, knowing Jason wouldn't want her to be alone. He tries to get Carly to return to the Q house with him to wait for news. Carly tells him she can't because everyone hates her, and Edward says no one hates her and that she isn't at fault; Jason is. Carly says thanks for all he has done for her and Jason, but he can leave if he is there to put Jason down. Edward apologizes and leaves.

Jason tells Justus what happened at Tony's and says he knows Tony is lying. Justus tells Jason if Michael wasn't there, Tony probably wouldn't have him, and Jason thinks he is lying because Jason wants to believe it is Tony so he doesn't have to face another alternative. Jason finally agrees with Justus that he may not be thinking clearly and has Justus call Marino to feel him out. Justus leaves, and Carly finds that Tony doesn't have Michael. Meanwhile, Tony is at Mercy Hospital and has Michael in his arms. He tells Michael he will get him out of there when it is safe. Tony cradles the baby at Mercy when the nurse/nun walks in. She questions him about the baby's mother, and he tells her she is an illegal working in the GH kitchen. Tony asks if the baby can stay at Mercy a little longer, and the sister sees no problem.

Justus shows up at Jason's and tells him he hasn't heard anything new about Michael's disappearance. Carly enters the room and jumps down his throat for still conducting business. She wants him to go to Edward because he did offer his help. Justus offers her some advice on Edward and then leaves. Once gone, Carly tells Jason no one asked for his advice and admits she is scared. She also doesn't think Michael is much of a priority for Jason.

Jason is at the bridge, punching the wall. Robin shows up behind him and promises to help. He tells her she can't; Michael is gone.

Robin wraps Jason's bleeding hand, and he tells her what he believes happened to Michael. Robin tries to help him understand it's not his fault. He admits he's afraid and thinks the police are useless. He promises to find Michael and make whoever did this pay.

Carly apologized for what she did and said, but she was upset and took it out on him. When he didn't come home, she got worried. He says that maybe they should tell the truth that AJ is the birth father. Carly reminds him that he is Michael's father in every way that counts.

Carly thanks him for all he's done. She came to some realization when she was alone and thinks they belong with Jason. Jason's not sure if he's good for Michael.

3/19-24/1998

Robin also finds out during their conversation that Nikolas knows she is HIV positive. Nikolas tells her he doesn't mind and that it made him feel stupid for feeling sorry for himself. As they talk, Tony and Lucas run into them as they leave the park. Tony asks Robin and Nikolas if they would watch Lucas for a while because he has some errands to run, and they wouldn't be any fun for Lucas. Robin and Nikolas agree to watch him, and Tony leaves. He returns later to pick up Lucas and tells him to put on his hat because it is cold. As Lucas removes his hat from Tony's pocket, a piece of paper slips out. Robin notices the paper. She tries unsuccessfully to get Tony's attention, then puts the paper in her pocket.

Tony retrieves Michael from Mercy and arrives at the cabin with Michael. Meanwhile, Nikolas leaves Robin to get coffee for them, and while he is gone, she pulls out the piece of paper Tony dropped. It is a receipt for baby items.

Robin thanks Nikolas for the picnic but says she has to go because she realizes there is something she can do to help Jason's baby. Nikolas tells her okay as long as she agrees to have lunch with him again. She agrees and leaves for Tony's cabin.

At the cabin, Tony picks up Michael and explains his plans and why he had to take him away from Carly and Jason. Tony seems to care for Michael. He leaves Michael in the other room to sleep while he listens on the monitor.

Robin arrives and. Tony invites her in and asks what he can do for her. Robin tells him he can start by returning Michael to Jason. Tony tells her no and explains why he took Michael. Robin tells him he has to give Michael back because Michael isn't his, but Tony tells her Michael was in trouble, and when a child is in trouble, you don't ask who he belongs to; you help the child.

Robin tries to get Tony to return Michael, but Tony won't budge and instead locks Robin in the room with Michael, telling her she can watch Michael while he is at work until they all leave town. He takes her phone. Tony moves Robin's car, and Robin holds Michael and tells him not to worry because Jason will find them.

Robin started to feel the effects of going off her HIV protocol and feared for her life. Robin begged Tony for help, and Tony promised to see what he could do.

Jax and Brenda return to her cottage and realize that Robin is missing. Brenda thinks Robin's disappearance is connected to Jason and confronts him.

Jason wants Brenda to tell him everything she knows. She describes the events of that day, and then Jason calls Benny; he wants to know who's guarding Robin. Brenda warns Jason that it is his fault if anything happens to Robin. He needs to know all the places she went that day, but Brenda can only say that one of his business associates took her. She kept saying this would happen, but Robin didn't want to believe it. Jason yells at her and says they must work together to find Robin. Jason asks them to give him 24 hours; they can take over if he doesn't find her. Jax tells Jason he is going to tell Mac.

Carly returns home and wants to know what's going on. He tells her about Robin and wants her to stay put until he hears anything. Carly thinks about her baby.

Robin's not feeling good and talks to Michael. She says Jason will find them. Robin is getting sicker by the minute.

3/25-31/1998

Brenda and Jax walk in and tell Mac that Robin is missing.

Mac goes down to the station and asks Garcia for help finding Robin. He wants to treat this as a kidnapping. Taggert enters and tells them that Jason slipped out last night and hasn't returned since.

Felicia contacts people in Paris to check with Robin's friends out there. Mac goes into the interrogation room to be alone. Felicia tells Mac that Robin is a survivor.

Jax and Brenda continue to try to find Robin. Jason shows up and wants to question Brenda to see if he can get any other clues about Robin's whereabouts. Brenda tells Jason what she remembers about Robin's itinerary. Jason discovers Robin was with Nikolas the day she disappeared and leaves to find him to ask if he knows where Robin could be. Jason asks him about Robin. Nikolas mentions seeing Lucas at the park and Tony dropping a piece of paper, which Robin picked up, and Jason realizes the kidnapper is Tony.

At the hospital, AJ sits down by Carly, and they talk quietly. He tells her he is sorry for his behavior towards her. Carly asks him if he would try to take Michael away from her, and he says no; he wasn't right when he thought Michael was his son either.

Tony brings food to Robin and tells her she needs to take more aspirin and get some rest, and she will feel better. Michael starts to cry, and Robin tells Tony he needs to admit his plan is a failure and she can't go on like this anymore. Tony apologizes to her and agrees; when Robin thinks he is about to turn himself into the police, Tony tells her he is going to get some antibiotics for her at the hospital. Robin weakly says, "Please, Tony. Antibiotics won't help. I need to be in a hospital, and Michael needs to be with his family."

"Robin, he will be. I should have been Michael's father. I'm a good person who lost my daughter to a horrific accident. Her heart lives on in Maxie, but God has given me another chance with Michael. I'll get your antibiotics and then leave with Michael. Once I'm outside the city limits, I'll call your uncle and tell him where to find you. One day, you will understand. I'll be back soon."

At the hospital, Alan tries to talk to Tony, but Tony tells him it isn't a good time, and he leaves to give the antibiotics to Robin.

Meanwhile, Jason and two of his men find Robin and Michael at Tony's cabin. Robin says, "Jason, I knew you'd find us. Michael is in the crib," she coughs. "He is okay. Tony didn't hurt him," Robin coughs again.

Jason looks to the crib and rushes to Robin. He feels her forehead. Her face is flushed. Robin says, "I think it's pneumonia, but it's not the bad kind."

Jason nods to his guard to pick up the baby. He carries Robin out of the bedroom. "How long have you been off your protocol?"

Robin coughs again, "It's been three days."

Tony walks in, and the other guard pulls his gun. Jason lets Robin down, and she stands. She says, "Jason, no. Michael needs you. Tony will pay for what he's done, but not this way. Please, let the police handle it."

Jason makes a call to Taggert and tells him where to find Tony. "I'm taking Robin to the hospital. Whatever Dr. Jones won't tell you, Robin will." He asks one of his men to stay with Tony for the cops to arrive. He says, "Dr. Jones, if something happens to Robin, you won't live a day longer than her."

Jason rushes Robin to the hospital with Michael. A barely conscious Robin tells Jason she had never lost faith that he would rescue her. Jason calls Carly and says he found Michael, and he is unharmed.

Jason takes Robin into the emergency room, and Joe Scanlon is the on-call doctor. She has pneumonia, but it's not AIDS-related. Jason sits by Robin's side, and she is hooked up to the monitors. She asked how Michael was doing. Jason was not going to let either one of them out of his sight.

Jason talked to Michael and said Michael was going to be examined. Jason apologized for taking so long to find him. He promised to look after Michael and protect him always. The Quartermaines showed up at GH and wanted to know how Michael was doing. Jason did not want them around but agreed to let Emily take a look at him. Emily holds Michael for them to see. Carly enters and holds Michael close. Alan asks everyone to leave Robin's room. She can only have two people visiting at a time. Jason kisses her forehead and promises to return.

Alan gave Joe instructions on Robin's care. Alan walked out and popped a few more pills.

Mac and Felicia went in to see Robin, with Jax and Brenda watching from the door. Mac asked who had done it to her, assuming it was one of Jason's men, but she said it hadn't been: it was Tony Jones. Felicia was shocked and couldn't believe Tony would do something like this.

Carly apologized to her son for leaving him and thanked Jason for bringing him back. She turned and saw Tony with Taggert. She ran over to attack Tony and said to him that he should be shot, and she would like to be the one to do it. She would make him pay for it if it was the last thing she did. Taggert jumped in and told Tony to tell his friends what he'd been doing in his spare time: kidnapping. He was under arrest.

Edward told Tony he was going to have him locked up. Carly says, "Edward, you are no better because you tried kidnapping my son; just because you have money does not make you better than anyone else!"

Justus told Jason he needed to go down to the station and give his statement. Jason agreed but first wanted to get Michael home safely. Nikolas walked over to Jason and asked how Robin was doing. Jason said he owed him one because Nikolas was the reason Jason had found Robin.

.

Nikolas looked in on Robin. Mac couldn't understand how Tony could have kept her from her medication. He was a doctor; he should have known the risk involved.

Nikolas approached Brenda and introduced himself. She thanked him for telling Jason all he knew. He asked Brenda to tell Robin he had been there. She agreed as long as he promised to return.

Alan walked out and confronted Tony. He'd known Tony for almost 15 years and couldn't believe Tony could do that to them. Tony said he'd do it all over again if he had to. AJ asked him how he could rationalize putting Robin's life in danger. Tony was sorry for all the anguish but said Michael had never been in danger. Monica said Carly might be right and asked him who had elected him God. Bobbie slaps Tony across the face. She wanted to know how he could do that to their son. She asked him if he had ever stopped to think about Lucas and never seeing him again. He told her he had thought about taking Lucas, too. Monica and Alan were leaving and wanted to take Bobbie home as well. She was ready to go and never wanted to see Tony again.

Jason was on the phone, trying to find out about Robin. Jason tells Carly he is going to the hospital. She doesn't think it's a good idea. "If you are going to see Robin, you should call first."

"I already did."

"If she had called and told you about Tony, she wouldn't have gotten sick. You could have gotten rid of Tony, and he'd be gone instead of in jail."

Jason sighs; he'd laugh if the situation weren't so serious. "How would that work, Carly? I'd be the first person to suspect, and that would leave you alone with Michael."

"Don't you have people to clean up shit like that?"

"Seriously, Carly? You don't think in advance. You act, react, and expect me to clean it up. I wish Robin would have called me, but you first attacked her judgment instead of being concerned that she risked everything to find and care for Michael. I don't want Robin to be a way for people to get to me. I'm leaving for GH."

Jason asked Monica how Robin was, and she said Robin was doing better.

Lucky/Nikolas/Luke-Rape

March 1998

Lucky is angry that he was not there for Elizabeth when she needed someone. He finds Nikolas in the park. Lucky blames Nikolas's family for what they did to his mother. Nikolas asks Lucky what is wrong. Lucky says it's because of what Nikolas's father did to their mother. Lucky tells Nikolas his father forced Laura to the island and raped their mother. Nikolas punches Lucky, "You are full of shit! Get your facts straight. Luke raped Laura, not my father."

"This is just a Cassadine plan to turn me against my father. I want proof."

"Find someone you trust and ask them or research it yourself. Look up October 5, 1979."

Lucky goes to the library and researches events in Luke's life. He sees the article that cleared Luke of Stavros's death in 1983 and other newspaper articles. The last article is about a rape victim found in the park. The paper reports his mother's description and details of the attack. The victim's name is left out. Lucky leaves for further confirmation.

Lucky approaches Scotty Baldwin, his mother's ex-husband, with questions about the night his mother was raped. He dodges Lucky's direct questions about Luke. It raises red flags for Lucky since he knows Scotty hates his father.

Lucky confronts Stefan about him lying to Nikolas about Luke raping Laura. He says it isn't true because his mother would never marry her rapist. Stefan tells Lucky that Laura is unique in her capacity to forgive and love. Stefan leaves.

Lucky visits Bobbie and wants to know the truth about his mom and dad. Bobbie tells him he needs to ask his father. Lucky storms out, and Bobbie tries unsuccessfully to get a hold of Luke to warn him.

Lucky goes home looking for his father, but he's not there. Bobbie tries to reach Luke again; this time, she leaves a message for Luke. Lucky overhears the message. He packs, and Luke arrives. Luke asks what is wrong, but Lucky ignores him. As Lucky passes Luke to leave, Luke tries to grab Lucky. Lucky looks at Luke and tells him not to touch him.

"I want an explanation, Cowboy. What did I do that has you so pissed?"

Luckyflips out on his father. Lucky tells him about his visit with Nikolas. Luke asks what he knows but doesn't think hearing it will matter. Lucky says, "I still want to know."

Luke says a long time ago, he raped Laura. He asks if his son feels better now, and Lucky wants the details. He thinks his life has been a big lie. Luke explains it was a different time. Lucky tells him he was a coward then, and he is one now. He hates him more than anyone in the world and believes his father is a liar and a hypocrite. Lucky sarcastically says, "It's a nice story; it really makes me proud." He grabs his stuff and walks out. Luke sobs.

Bobbie walks into Luke's house and says she's been looking for him. Luke tells her he told Lucky, and now he is gone. She thinks he should look for him, but Luke believes if he's ever going to get him back, he must let him go now. Bobbie inferred that she was still upset that Luke withheld the truth about Carly from her and told him that he had always made sweeping decisions about how much information people should know about their own lives. Bobbie tells Luke she still adores him, but his image as an infallible hero is tarnished.

Lucky arrives at Elizabeth's house to say goodbye because he is leaving. She wants to know what happened, but he tells her he doesn't want to unload his garbage on her. Elizabeth says she wants help and can only do that if he lets her. He tells her that when she was raped, he wanted to find the name of the man who did this to her; instead, he got a conciliation prize, the name of the man who raped his mother. Elizabeth says, "I thought that was Stavros Cassadine."

"Nope! It was my father."

"I'm sorry; hopefully, you can patch things up with your father. What happened between your parents has nothing to do with you, and don't make this about me. I am nothing like your mother. Your mother chose to marry your father."

"I used to think my parents were so cool. My dad was my best friend. My mom struggled with being on the run from the mob, but my dad made it fun. We had this special bond, and now finding out what my father did has changed it forever."

"Lucky, I hope you stay in Port Charles."

"Could I stay with you? I'll sleep on the floor."

Elizabeth has forgiven him for ditching her on Valentine's Day, but she's not ready to be close to another guy, even if it's only a friendship. "Sorry, Lucky, no. I'm uncomfortable with that. I hope you get closure with your dad."

Elizabeth realizes there's not much she can do about her rape, but maybe she can help Lucky deal with how his mother managed what happened to her. Elizabeth finds Bobbie. She tells Bobbie what Lucky told her. Bobbie asks how he's doing. Elizabeth wishes she could do something to fix this for him, but she can't. Bobbie questions how much Elizabeth knows, and she says, "Not much; I didn't want to hear the details."

Bobbie doesn't defend her brother but says, "Lucky has always been surrounded by love. The best thing you can do for my nephew is be his friend."

Lucky finds Bobbie, and she tells him that Luke has regretted his actions for twenty years, and it means something that he and Laura have put what happened past them and created a family. Lucky doesn't budge in his opinions, but Bobbie tells him he is welcome to stay at the Brownstone if he would like. "It would be nice to focus on something other than what Tony did to Michael and Robin." Lucky agrees to stay with her and help her with Lucas as long as they don't discuss his father.

Luke finds Nikolas at Wyndemere and argues with him about what he told Lucky. Nikolas says that Lucky was accusing his father of raping Laura and that he was the product of that rape. Luke says, "You will never understand what's happened between my wife and me. We forgave each other decades ago. Nikolas, you are a spawn. Laura loves you, but don't think for one minute that Stravos didn't control my wife. Your family kept Laura hostage for four years. She despised Starvos. She was not willing! When he tried to reclaim her, he tied me to a bed and was going to force me to watch him attack my wife. She distracted him long enough for me to break free from my restraints. I tried to like you. You saved LuLu's life, but destroying Lucky makes you my enemy."

Luke runs into Stefan at the launch, and Stefan is concerned with what he wants with Nikolas. Luke informs him that he put his nephew in the line of fire. Stefan brings up that Luke pimped his sister, killed his brother (Stefan's), and raped his wife. Lucky overhears his father arguing with Stefan. Luke informs his son he's going back with him. Lucky lets him know he's not going anywhere with him. He'll be okay; he always is.

At GH, Nikolas approaches Lucky and apologizes for revealing Luke's secret. Lucky says it is okay because he needed to know the truth. They both decide to keep their family hatred out of their relationship. They both agree that they dislike each other personally, and their disagreement is between them only.
