Heart of Love Chap 1
It's almost Christmas across the town
As evening falls the snow drifts down
Inside each house the children wait
It's almost time to celebrate
The moment that they're dreaming of
A moment of pleasure, the season of love
The season of love, calm and serene
A little girl becomes a queen
A noble nutcracker becomes a king
And they sing of the season of love
The nutcracker prince and his princess Marie
Must battle the odds in their dream to be free
Their brave toy soldiers march forth with a smile
But the Mouse King has armies of warriors so vile
It's hopeless unless they get help from above
But anything's possible in the season of love
The season of love, calm and serene
A little girl becomes a queen
A noble nutcracker becomes a king
And they sing of the season of love
Of love
Once upon a time, there lived a girl named Rebecca Venganza. She was beautiful inside as she was out, gentle with every living creature and caring to everyone. She is a brunette, with her hair going down to her her feet, a sweet heart face, hourglass body and beautiful blue eyes that don't have a name. Rare eyes that don't have a name is unusual, but she is just like everyone else, being an heiress to one of the world's richest families life certainly has it's moments. She lost her parents when she was young and her grandmother stepped up to raise her and to become the next head of the family. However the girl herself is a bit shy, thus she doesn't have many friends or someone special in her life but she does dream of one day being swept off her feet. She has many talents but is unsure where to take them at this time, she is twenty-one so she does have time to decide.
One day she was walking around one of the estates that always felt like home to her, located in southwestern France. She was enjoying the scenery, and the creatures that live in the wooded area, when all of a sudden gunshots were heard, she is startled and scared but decides to see what is happening. She arrives to an aera with scuffling sounds a hides herself behind a tree.
There were two men fighting each other, one was shooting and trying to put distance between him and his opponent and the other was shooting but he than moved with speed that your eyes can't follow. Her eyes widened for such a thing should not be possible, the one on defense had brunette messy hair, blue eyes and wearing a military uniform, the other was dressed in black leather, slicked back blonde hair, wearing sunglasses over his eyes.
"Are you done Chris? I was expecting something a bit more due to our history, but it would appear that your lacking energy," the blonde haired man spoke, putting away his gun. "I never be done Wesker! Not until the world is safe from you!" the man in uniform shouts back. "If your trying to make one of your jokes now, that one is the most hilarious joke I have ever heard. Make no mistake Chris, you will die today," the blondes says with a smirk.
The two were going near a ravine that her grandmother once told her was bottomless, she follows them concerned about the brunette called Chris. The blonde man seems to be an evil man, for Chris said he was trying to save the world from him. There also a mention about their history, they seem to know each other for quite sometime, this makes her curious as to how they know each other.
They arrive at the ravine the blonde man spoke, "It would appear Chris your time is up, there is no where for you to go or to hide". "I won't go down without a fight! Will see who dies today!" Chris says as he fires at Wesker who easily dodges them and using his unnatural speed gets in front of Chris who tries to use his knife but Wesker makes him drop it with a tight hold on his wrist before grabbing his throat. Wesker slams him against a boulder that is right beside the ravine, and Chris tries to pry his fingers from his throat. "Its over Chris, then when I'm done with you I'll track down Claire, Jill and everyone else who has been a thorn in my side and kill them," Wesker says with a smirk. Chris gets angry at him and kicks him but Wesker doesn't even flinch and applies more pressure to crush Chris's windpipe, who gasps for air.
Rebecca panics at seeing this, 'What do I do?! What do I do?!' are her thoughts for she had no weapons on her person and something told her hand to hand wouldn't work on him. Hearing Chris gasp again, she reaches down to her foot, bringing it up to her, removes her tennis shoe and throws it at the blondes head, hitting the mark. "What the?!" Wesker starts to say but with him being distracted Chris was able to get his hand off him and knock him to the side, right into the ravine.
Rebecca then goes over to Chris, who is on his knees breathing as much air in possible, she asks, "Are you alright?". "Yeah, thanks for the save," Chris thanks her, she then checks him over for injures, "You seemed to be bruised with a couple of wounds but nothin too serious". "Are you a doctor?" he asks, "No but I do know CPR," Rebecca tells him going to grab her shoe and puts it back on, he then looks down at the ravine to see if he can find his enemy.
"My grandmother has told me that the ravine is bottomless, so he no longer a problem," she tells him, but Chris shakes his head, "He survived two rocket launchers to the face and he fell from a cliff at a seashore. It will take more than a fall to kill him and until I see his body I won't be convinced that he is dead," Chris tells her. Rebecca is stunned to learn this, the blonde seems to be a monster more than man.
"Oh, I forgot my manners. My name is Rebecca Venganza, but those who know me call me Bec and I live near here," she tells him with a smile, "My name is Christopher Redfield, but please call me Chris, " he tells her smiling back. "Well we can't do anymore here let's go to my house," Bec says and they both stand, though Chris wobbles a bit and Bec puts his right arm around her to support him. "I can walk and I'm a bit heavy for you," he said. "It's ok, I work out so its no trouble," she said, they walk through the wooded area till they reach her house but... "That's a house? It's a mansion!" Chris says as they go through the garden to reach the back door.
"Well yes it is, but its the closest place I call home," she tells him as she opens the door and they walk to a parlor room, getting Chris to sit on the couch and grabbing the first aid in the guest bathroom nearby. When Bec treats most of his wounds she asks, "Can you take off your gear up top? I need to finish dressing your words". Chris removes the top half of his clothes and Bec admires his physique, she looks away when he looks at her, smirking at catching her, Bec then treated the rest of his wounds. "Thank you for your help but can I use your phone? I need to call BSAA headquarters," Chris asks, Bec then gives him her phone, 'So he's with the BSAA? Tough stuff' are her thoughts knowing of biowarfare in the world.
Chris calls, "Hey it's Captain Chris Redfield, patch me through to the Director," he says, waiting for a response, while he is doing his call Bec decides to make them some tea and goes to the kitchen. The kitchen is a large one where a person could cook everything they wanted, Bec makes Earl Grey; it's a black tea that gives you energy. Grabbing some snacks to go with it, she goes back to the parlor where Chris is.
"Yeah I'll see you soon," Chris ended the call just as she came back, "I brought some tea and snacks," she said. "Thank you for letting me use your phone," Chris thanks her, and has some snacks and drinks tea, but makes a face at the later, "Don't like tea?" Bec asks. "Nah, more of a coffee drinker," he tells her. "How did your call go?" she asks she knew he wasn't trying to hurt her feelings. "Good overall, they weren't too happy about hearing Wesker is back but they agreed that we need to make sure he stays dead this time, they'll be sending someone to pick me up tomorrow due to how far out I ended up. Sorry but they had to GPS your phone to figure out where I am, I forgot to ask you where we are," Chris apologizes. "Its ok, at least they know your still alive, by the way what happened to your communications?" Bec asks.
"Just before Wesker showed up one of the B. got to me, thankfully my team was nearby and killed it but it did wreck my communications before that. Wesker made his appearance and I purposefully lured him away from the team and somehow got all the way out here". "Shouldn't we evacuate?" Bec thinks the attack happened somewhere near her home, "No, the attack happened at the border of France and Spain. We're about fifty or so miles away and there wasn't that many B. . My team should have taken care of any that remained once I got Wesker away," Chris assures her.
Bec is relieved that she didn't have to leave the place she called home. "By the way, what job do you have that you could afford this place at your age?" Chris asks curiously. "Oh, the house belongs to my family, a wedding present for my parents when they got married. My mother was born in Paris, so my grandparents brought a house in the city and had this place built, so my mother and father could visit whenever they wanted," Bec tells him. Chris takes notice she looks a little sad at that, "Should I meet your parents? I don't think you should hide me from them," Chris asks jokingly, but Bec becomes even sadder. "I'm sorry, did I offend you?" Chris questions her, concerned.
"No, my parents have left this world since I was four, they were in a boating accident. My grandparents on my father's side raised me, my mother's parents died just before she came of age and was an only child. Though my grandfather died when I was ten, my grandmother is still as tough as nails and is determined to see me live my life before she dies," Bec informs him of her family. "No, I'm sorry. I never should have joked like that with you," Chris apologizes again, "So I should meet your grandmother now?" he asks. "Not right now I'm afraid, she is in London taking care of business," she tells him, "Do you have family?" she asks, "Yes, my sister Claire," Chris tells Bec about his family.
Her phone rings and Bec checks it, her grandmother is calling and answers, "Hello grannie," she says, "Hello dear, how are you today?" her grandmother asks. "I'm fine, I got a visitor today," Bec tells her. "Oh, one of your friends came to visit?" grannie asks. "No, a gentleman needed help so I brought him here" she said. "Are you sure you can trust him?" her grandmother asks sounding concerned. "Yes I can," Bec answers. "Let me talk to him dear," she said. Bec knew her grandmother wouldn't take no for an answer, but she put the phone on speaker and handed it to Chris, "Who are you?" her grandma asks sternly but Chris takes it in stride. "My name is Christopher Redfield, I work with the BSAA," Chris informs her and they talk for a moment before her grandmother is satisfied that Chris means no harm. Chris gives the phone back to Bec but she leaves it on speaker, "He sounds trustworthy enough, though the other day when I said bring home a man, I didn't mean this soon," her grandma sounded so serious that Bec turned red with embarrassment. "I-It's not like that grandma! I told you I was helping him!" Bec tells her with a raised voice, her grandmother laughs. "I was joking dear, now you two have some fun and I'll see you in a few days Rebecca," her grandmother said. "Grandma! We just met! Have a good day," Bec replies still embarrassed. "Bye dear," her grandma said and the call ended.
"Sorry she said all that," Bec apologizes to Chris, who looked amused about the call, "It's fine, she was checking to see if you were alright," Chris said with a smile, Bec's heart flutters in her chest and she looks away to look at the clock on the mantle. "Oh, it's this late? Let me show you to a guest bedroom and get dinner ready," Bec says to him and they get up. Chris was feeling better than he was earlier so he was able to walk by himself and Bec took him to a guest room on the second floor; it had a queen size bed with tasteful furnishings with a bathroom attached. "Do you live here by yourself?" Chris asks. "Overall yes, I've been spending time here because this house is where my parents would be when they were alive. There is a cleaning crew that comes once a month to make sure everything is working and in order. Grannie will come and stay with me from time to time," Bec informs him.
"I'll go make dinner," Bec says before leaving Chris alone. After she left Chris thinks, 'She is so happy, despite the fact she lost her parents. How can she be filled with hope in this day and age?'. Down in the kitchen Bec decides to make a big dinner and before she knew it is was time, "Chris its time to eat!" she calls him on the cordless phone that is in most rooms in the mansion and Chris comes down to the kitchen. Bec then takes him to the dining where the food has already been placed; Oven Barbecued Chicken, Favorite Broccli Salad, Mexican Cornbread, and for desert: Deluxe Chocolate Marshmallow Bars. "You made this yourself?" Chris asked, feeling his stomach growl. "Yes, I believe if you have the power to do anything you should use it... As long as its for the right purpose," Bec said.
They sat down and began to eat, "This is good, I can't remember the last time I had a homecooked meal," Chris said, he's eating like it's the best he's ever had. "You should eat homecooked food more often. It's healthier," Bec says. "I know but I don't cook well, much less what you made," Chris tells her. He then tries to grab one of the bars but Bec smacked his hand, "Eat your food first, honestly your acting like a child," she lightly scolds him. "I'm not a child! I'm thirty-six years old," Chris tells her, a bit put off. 'Fifteen year difference between us,' Bec thinks. "Then act your age and eat the food first," she says with a teasing smile. Chris smiles back, and finishes the food, before helping himself to desert and Bec joins him after she eats her food. Once their plates were licked clean, "That was the best dinner I've had in a while, thank you very much," Chris thanks her. "You're welcome, let me put these dishes in the dishwasher and I'll give you a tour of the house," Bec says.
After putting the dishes in the machine and starting it, Bec then shows Chris around the mansion. The mansion had three floors plus a basement, aside from guest bedrooms, there were rooms that had every room you've ever heard of. Starting from the first floor rooms: dining room, kitchen with pantry, parlor, living room, and conservatory. There is garage attached to the house with a workshop and then the basement floor: stillroom that connects with the kitchen, gym, root and wine cellars and storm cellar. Then they head up to the second floor: craft room, game room, movie theater, laundry room and music room. And finally the third floor, a library is on this floor as well as three bedrooms.
They check out the library first, "I have never seen so many books in my entire life," Chris says looking around in awe. "Surely you went to the library when you were young," Bec said. "Not really . . . Books were never my thing," Chris says. "That's too bad you would find adventures and knowledge, depending the book your reading," Bec says. "Like these," Bec said walking over to a self that read 'Fairytales'. "These can take you to a place where anything is possible and that love is stronger than evil," she says with a smile full of nostalgia and happiness. "I see your a big fan of those," Chris said with a smile at her happiness.
They move on to where the bedrooms are, "My grandmother's room is on the right when she comes to visit, my room is on the left so if you need something or if there's an emergency and . . ." Bec trails off staring at the last door. Chris looked at it and asked, "Something wrong?". "My parent's room is the last room this way, it is a master bedroom and ensuite," Bec responds a little sad. "You don't have to show me if you don't want to," Chris said gently. "I'll show you my room," Bec said grateful.
Bec showed him her room, queen sized bed with dresser furnishings, attached bathroom, tv in the center of the wall and a balcony. Bec walks out unto the balcony with Chris following her, by this point the stars have come out and the sun had set. "It's a beautiful night," Bec says looking up at the stars. Chris looks at her, with the moonlight shining in her hair she looked more lovely. 'Chris forget it, she's too young for you' were his thoughts.
He asked, "What do you do for a living?". "I'm unemployed at the moment. One of the reasons I'm here is to figure out what it is that I want to do," Bec starts. "I have quite a few interests and hobbies, as you saw by all the rooms in the house, but I'm not sure if I should pursue any of them seriously or if I should go for a different business idea". "Well, you could open up a restaurant chain, with the way you cook, your recipes would get customers a mile out the door," Chris says with a grin and Bec smiles at his attempt to make her feel good.
Then she randomly asked, "Do you dance?". "No, I have never learned to dance," Chris said. Bec said, "I'll teach you," before grabbing his hand. She put the hand she grabbed on her waist and puts hers on his shoulder and intertwines their hands. "Follow my lead and watch your footwork," she said and they moved to a rhythm all their own, Chris quickly improved his footwork as they moved. As they danced they stared into each others eyes, they had only met today but they feel as if something has pulled them together.
Then Chris stops dancing, "I better get off to bed," he said as he let go of her. She smiles, "Good night Chris" she said. "Good night Bec," he said before leaving her room. Bec then gets ready for bed, wearing a white nightgown before climbing into bed, 'Chris might like me if I wasn't so undecided,' she thinks as she falls asleep. Chris got into his bed, stripped down to his boxers, 'She is too good for someone like me, I hope she can find someone who will give her what she needs,' Chris thinks as he fell asleep.
Meanwhile as the day went on for Chris and Bec, Wesker was able to pull himself out of the ravine by nightfall. He then used his phone to call his contacts, "Find out who is living in this area and send the information to me," he said before hanging up. He would find the person who robbed him of his victory against Chris.
