The doctor froze, his eyes widening beneath his cracked glasses, "Markus...?"

He saw the reflection of his son on the monitor. He turned his head, setting his gaze on the person he'd never thought he'd see again.

"Markus, what are you-?" John spoke, his voice wavering.

"Shut it, old man." Mark scowled, his eyebrows furrowing. John closed his mouth, surprised at his son's anger, yet didn't say anything, "You have no right to ask questions after you deserted me for 24 years."

A beeping noise interrupted them. John averted his gaze to the monitor, pressing a few keys. It only pissed Mark off even more.

"And, of course, you still don't listen to me! I'm glad that nothing's changed, huh, father?" Mark crossed his arms, rolling his eyes as he glared at the other blonde.

John let out a sigh, initializing a final upload, "I'm not ignoring you, Markus-"

"It's Mark."

"Mark... I'm not ignoring you; I just..." John watched the status bar move along the screen, going from ten percent to thirteen percent, "I know what I've done-"

"What you're still doing." Mark corrected.

"I only left to protect you."

"Bullshit." Mark spat.

"I don't blame you for not believing me, but it's the truth." John looked at him, a tired look in his eyes, "I'm doing this for you."

"Right, because destroying the world is a good idea for a present." Mark waved his hands around as he said that. John was silent, his eyes analyzing his son's movements, "By the way, take your stupid Christmas gift back; you know I don't want anything to do with you or your weird gadgets." Mark tossed him the flash drive, John fumbling it as he caught it.

"You kept it...?" John muttered.

"It's a flash drive; those things are hard to find nowadays." Mark shrugged, "I was compelled to erase the data and use it, but I don't use the computer much these days."

"Right." John swallowed, frowning, "Thank you."

"Don't mention it." Mark glared, "Really."

"Mark? You down here, bud?" A voice called from outside.

"I should go. Have fun with Paradise, or whatever..." Mark turned to leave.

"Mark-" John spoke before he could stop himself, "You should get out of here; it's not safe."

"Is anywhere safe when the whole world is gonna explode?" Mark didn't look at him as he started walking away, "Talk to me when you start saying something useful."

John watched as his son left, his heart aching. His eyes landed on the drive in his hands.

The missing piece, so to speak.

He turned to the monitor, inserting the drive into one of the USB slots.

A screen popped up, portraying a digital version of the Black Army's insignia.

WELCOME, DR. JOHN SPICER-RAINES

LOADING . . . ÅSIDOSÄTTA DATA . . . PLEASE STANDBY

Once he saw the bar reach a hundred percent, his face lit up for a moment. He had done it. It was complete. Now, all he had to do was get it to Hellucard.

He frowned at the thought. The King didn't like to be kept waiting. He didn't hold back his punches either.

'Oh, well, it's time for someone else to do the punching.' John thought as he took the flash drive out, 'Better late than never...'

You skipped around the hallway, tossing a flash bomb between his hands. He didn't find anything interesting, only that the so-called 'lab' needed a deep clean.

'Ooh, that's dangerous...' He thought as he saw sparking wires next to a puddle of sewer water.

SCHLick

You halted in his steps, turning his head, 'What the-?'

SCHLoop

He whipped his head around, looking in the other direction. He bit his lip, scowling, "Come out, you coward! There's no use hiding!"

Schlick

"Oh, really?" A voice sounded from behind You. The latter whizzed around, immediately receiving a punch to the jaw. You's body went with his head, his movement becoming disoriented. The flash bomb bounced out of his hands, rolling up to the stranger's feet.

You took a moment to feel his jaw, the stinging sensation only lasting for a few seconds before becoming numb from adrenaline as the blonde peered into the eyes of his attacker.

"I'm guessing you're one of the King's lackeys?" You spat out the question with distaste.

"That's right." The other person spoke, his hair a golden blonde and his eyes a striking green, "Name's Diwi."

You looked at him with a quirked eyebrow, "Does it look like I give a fuck about your name? You literally punched me."

"I'm about to do it again if you don't keep your mouth shut." Diwi glared.

"Try me, asshole." You squinted his eyes before breaking out into a sprint, ramming his elbow into his stomach.

Diwi grunted, holding himself up by the wall, then pushing forward to go for a punch. You managed to dodge him, grabbing his arm and twisting it, pulling the German forward and onto the ground. You pulled out one of his smoke bombs, tossing it at his target, and making his getaway.

Once the smoke cleared, Diwi huffed, 'He can't hide for long... this hallway doesn't lead anywhere.'

'There's not much here.' Yan frowned, peering into the barracks, 'Nothing and no one... I wonder how You is doing.'

The Russian was still worried, his gut telling him to turn around and check on him, but he knew better. You was capable of taking care of himself.

"Kim, stop!" A voice echoed throughout the hall, "You're going to get us caught!"

Yan stopped, his eyes landing on the corner that was a few feet away from him.

"Oh, come on, Kat, those cameras aren't even working right now!" Another spoke, "I can strip naked if I wanted and no alarm would sound."

"K-Kim!"

The ravenette heard enough. He turned the corner, seeing the wives safe and sound. Katya was the first to notice him.

"Yan?" She spoke, her voice quiet. This prompted Kim to look at him.

"Yan!?" She smiled, "About time you guys got here! The others are here, right?"

Yan merely nodded, analyzing the Black Army uniform that Katya was wearing.

"Oh, this is temporary. I was using it to gain inside info." She flushed, scratching the back of her neck.

"We should get you guys out of here." Yan spoke, his eyebrows furrowing, "I have a bad feeling-"

BANG!

A resounding sound of a gun going off reverberated throughout the hallways of the sewer drain. The trio whipped their heads towards the sound.

Yan's heartbeat raced in his chest, "That sounded like it came from where You went off to."

"If we hurry, we can make it," Katya told them, running ahead.

You found a dead end at the end of the hallway, 'Damn it!' He turned around, going back to the room he passed as he was running. He went inside, and hid somewhere, waiting for Diwi to find him.

He saw Diwi enter the room from his peripherals, walking at a leisurely and taunting pace that drove You up the walls. He held his anger in as he glared daggers at the German.

"Come out, my friend." Diwi looked under the worktable, "This is the only room down this hallway... I know you're in here somewhere."

The golden blonde made his way to the storage closet, getting ready to open it. You made this his chance as he leaped forward, aiming for his neck and placing him in a chokehold. Diwi let out a gasp as his gloved hands reached up to grab the ones choking him.

"As I said before... try me, asshole." You grunted, tightening his grip.

Diwi's face grew pale, yet he didn't give up fighting, "How do you... feel about... slime?"

You faltered, quirking an eyebrow, "What?"

Due to his confusion, his grip loosened, prompting Diwi to smirk as he managed to tug his way out of his hold and kick him away, "Eat slime!" The German threw a slime-filled balloon at him, the balloon exploding on impact.

"Wha-?" You looked down at his hands and clothes, seeing that he was covered in the green substance. He looked at Diwi with a deadpan stare, "Is this supposed to do something?"

Diwi didn't respond, only smiling, pleased with himself at the outcome.

"Even if I'm covered in... whatever this is, I can still kick your butt." You spoke, standing in a fighting position.

Diwi merely shrugged, "If you want to make it worse, go ahead."

You raised an eyebrow, squinting his eyes. He ran forward, throwing a punch. Diwi dodge it easily. You threw up his knee, and Diwi also slipped by it with no problem. After a few more fighting moves were placed, You panted with frustration.

"What? Tired already?" Diwi smirked, throwing a fast punch and hitting You square in his face.

The latter fell to the ground, finding his limbs to be weak to the point that he couldn't stand up. He looked down at his body, his breathing becoming ragged, "What... did you do to me?"

"My name is Diwi, codename; Goo. I specialize in infusing slime with toxins and poisons and using them in battles." The German spoke, walking up to You's kneeling figure, "And you, let's just say... aren't surviving this one."

You scowled at him, his face becoming pale as a ghost as his chest movements became more heavy and prominent. He watched as Diwi stepped away, ranting on and on about the toxin he gave You as the latter saw a pistol on the floor next to him.

"You know, this toxin was known for assassinating Kim Jong Nam; two ladies threw it in his face not knowing what it could do. It was also banned by the Chemical Weapons Convention for being a weapon of mass destruction... what a shame that no one sees its potential quite like I do."

'Come on...' You aimed for Diwi's head, his hands shaking and his vision cloudy. He felt his throat closing up and the sudden movement of his arms going limp as he pulled the trigger.

BANG!

The bullet landed nowhere near his target, the trace planting itself a few inches near Diwi's foot.

"How pathetic." Diwi huffed, "Anyway, I would love to chat as you die, but I kinda have to be somewhere..." Diwi stepped over You's flaccid body, making his way to the door, "Let's do this again in Paradise, ay?"

You didn't respond, his eyes glazing over as he stared blankly at the ceiling.
