Here is Chapter 4. Hope you enjoy it. This is the chapter in which Hermione and Draco start Hogwarts. Please read and review.

Narcissa was worried. Ever since her birthday, Hermione had been a lot quieter than usual and Narcissa didn't know why. She hadn't seen as much of her, but Joseph and Aria had stayed at the house most nights. Hermione was just a muggle; she shouldn't care so much about her, but she did. Over the years, Hermione had become a second child to her and Narcissa cared about her; a lot.

But today was about her son. He would be boarding the Hogwarts Express and starting his Hogwarts journey. She had no idea what school Hermione was going to, but she had told the Malfoys that she would be at a prestigious boarding school and look after her siblings.

Narcissa and Lucius had already sent Draco along with his friends to find a compartment after a morning full of goodbyes. Draco had asked where Hermione was, and the Malfoy adults had told him that they didn't know. She knew this year would be hard on both of them and she hoped Hermione would at least still be in contact with them.

As predicted, the Weasleys were at the last minute and rushing onto the train. Narcissa turned her nose up knowing she had to act entitled especially in the wizarding world, where your every move was watched. The Weasley matriarch glared at Narcissa before turning to talk to her good-for-nothing husband.

Once the train had left, Narcissa and Lucius returned to Malfoy Manor and were greeted by Aria and Joseph sat in one of the sitting areas reading a book. At least she would be able to get closer to Hermione's siblings Narcissa thought with a smile before sitting across from them with Lucius. She knew Hermione and she knew she would be fine, but she still worried about her.

Hermione breathed a sigh of relief. She hated to have left before the Malfoys were even awake, but her parents wouldn't take her to Hogwarts, so she had to steal some money to travel to Kings Cross and had to leave early to get there in time for the train. She had gotten about five buses but had managed to make it with an hour to spare.

She had read as many books as she could to learn as much about the wizarding world as possible. She needed to be prepared. She had found out how to get onto the Hogwarts Express from Professor McGonagall, the woman who gave her the Hogwarts letter, so grabbed a drink before sitting down on a bench overlooking the station.

About half an hour later, she found herself in an empty compartment on the train and was one of the few people to get there so early. She was so engrossed in her book that she barely knew what was going on outside. She just knew when the train started and was glad nobody had disturbed her.

Hermione decided to change into her Hogwarts robes early and sat relaxing for most of the train journey. She didn't mind though. It was the first time in a while since she had fully been alone and enjoyed it. She also wouldn't be seeing her parents until summer, so Hermione was more than happy about that.

"E-Excuse me, have you seen m-my toad, Trevor? He w-went missing, and I h-have no idea w-where he went," Hermione looked up from her book.

"No, I haven't sorry, but I'll help you look for it if you want," Hermione said with a small smile putting her book into her bag.

"T-Thank you. I'm N-Neville by the way. Neville L-Longbottom. My g-gran would kill me if she found out t-that I've l-lost Trevor," the boy stuttered.

"It's fine. I'm Maya by the way. Maya Granger and I'll help you find you find your toad to survive the evil wrath of your grandmother," Hermione gave a small laugh. They decided to split up to cover more ground.

Hermione had asked around in a few carriages as to where the toad was including one with a boy trying to turn his rat yellow who had somehow become friends with Harry Potter. She decided to try one last compartment as they were nearly arriving at Hogwarts.

"Has anyone s- "Hermione stopped speaking when she realized who was in the carriage.

"Maya, what are you doing here," Theo asked. He sat there with Pansy, Daphne, Blaise, and Draco.

"Uhm I could ask you all the same question. You've been lying to me for years. How could I have been so stupid? I trusted you all," Hermione tried not to raise her voice. She felt so betrayed. At least now she knew why she was always the left-out one.

"Maya calm down. We all thought you were a muggle. And I'm sure you know all about the Statue of Secrecy. We couldn't have just told you, Hermione. The same way you didn't tell us," Draco spoke up.

"Okay. I'm sorry, I'm being dramatic. It just hurts that you all knew, and I didn't," Hermione sighed. "So, you're all purebloods then I guess?" Hermione asked in a whisper.

"Yeah, so it probably isn't best to be friendly with us out in the open unfortunately because our families have been associated with bad people before," Daphne said. Hermione looked to Draco for confirmation and just silently nodded his head. Lucius and Narcissa had been so kind to her for so many years. She couldn't believe that they had been involved in what Hermione suspected Daphne was talking about.

Hermione had read a few books about Voldemort and his death eaters. Hermione hadn't investigated it that much, just enough to know the basics. She just couldn't imagine Lucius and especially Narcissa being involved in that, but she didn't know the facts, she didn't know how they got caught up in that.

They soon arrived at Hogwarts and Hermione left the others to not be seen with them. She was experiencing a lot of emotions currently and didn't know how to feel. The next few minutes were a blur and before Hermione knew it, her name was being called to get sorted. She shakily walked up to the front and the hat was placed on her head.

"Ah… Interesting, very interesting. Hermione Granger. You will change the world one day and there are so many paths you could go down. You're one of the most ambitious people I've ever seen, and you would do anything to protect those you love. But you are also extremely loyal to those that matter to you. There is also a strong sense of bravery and you have faced great struggles and not given up. However, one of the strongest traits is very clear. You value knowledge and wisdom. You are eager to learn everything. You have a sharp mind and are an intellectual thinker, and it is very clear. I know where to put you. Yes. Good luck Hermione Granger. You belong in RAVENCLAW…"

Hermione breathed a sigh of relief.
