Upon returning to the district, Jay resumed his seat while Voight positioned himself before the bullpen, his arms crossed. 'First and foremost, we must ascertain the identity of the individual who would desire harm to Erin, as well as the motive behind it,' Voight stated, commencing his pacing.

'Has anyone Lindsey incarcerated managed to secure their release from prison?' Al inquired, leaning in his chair. 'To my knowledge, no,' Voight replied after some contemplation, glancing at Jay for any possible insights.

'Except for one instance, albeit the individual released was a woman rather than a man, granted parole based on good behavior,' Jay affirmed.

Voight nodded, placing his hand to his chin. 'Alright, I expect each one of you to engage with your confidential informants, gathering any information or sightings that deviate from the ordinary,' he commanded.

'Jay, Antonio, your task is to thoroughly investigate all the individuals Erin had previously incarcerated, monitoring their activities for anything suspicious,' Voight instructed.

Jay assented, rising from his seat with Antonio closely following suit. 'We will take care of it,' Jay affirmed, departing the bullpen alongside his colleague. 'As for the rest of you, utilize your contacts to engage in discussions with your informants.'

"Do you have any knowledge of who might have caused harm to Erin?" Antonio inquired Jay as they walked into the prison. "I can't think of anyone off the top of my head," Jay replied.

He considered Erin's mother, but found it hard to believe Bunny would be cruel enough to send someone to harm her own daughter. Jay admitted that he didn't know Bunny well enough to be certain.

Antonio nodded in understanding as he and Jay approached the front desk of the prison. "May I be of assistance?" the officer asked, looking at Jay and Antonio who exchanged a brief glance.

Antonio displayed his badge to the officer. "Yes, we are here to inquire about a few individuals whom Detective Lindsey had apprehended. We were wondering if anyone other than the woman had escaped or been released," Antonio asked.

Jay observed the officer as he pondered the question before shaking his head. "To our knowledge, everyone is still here, except for the woman," the officer replied, handing a file to Antonio.

Antonio retrieved the file from the officer and expressed his gratitude before turning away with Jay following closely behind. Jay inquired, 'What are your thoughts?' as they made their way to the car and entered.

'I am unsure, but I have a suspicion that they are either lying or concealing information from us,' Antonio replied as he exited the prison parking lot, heading back to the district. Jay questioned, 'In what way? What do they possibly have to hide?'

Antonio pondered, 'I am uncertain, but perhaps they do not wish to acknowledge that someone managed to escape their prison.' Jay nodded in agreement. 'Indeed,' he concurred, picking up the file that Antonio had placed down and scanning through it.

While flipping through the file, Jay found nothing particularly noteworthy, as most of the individuals were still serving their sentences. Then, his attention was captivated by one person whom he hoped was still incarcerated.

'Has something caught your attention?' Antonio inquired, observing the expression on Jay's face. 'We must discuss this individual with Voight,' Jay asserted. Antonio shifted his gaze to examine the file.

Antonio came to a halt at a red traffic light in order to observe more closely, he inquired, as he gazed upon an individual with lengthy hair cascading down to his shoulders and emotionless eyes, "Is that the individual we incarcerated a few years ago?"

Jay acknowledged with a nod while attempting to recall the name "Charlie Pugliese." He proceeded to close the file, stating, "I fervently hope that if anyone managed to escape from the penitentiary, it is not him, for it would undoubtedly pose a significant challenge for us."

Jay reminisced about his initial encounter with Charlie, which took place as he and Erin were departing headquarters, engaged in a conversation regarding their intended visit to Molly's.

He never harbored a fondness for Charlie, particularly after encountering him once more in the company of Mouse, who was guiding him to the whereabouts of the sought-after suspect.

Antonio affirmed his agreement as he skillfully maneuvered his vehicle into a designated parking spot upon their arrival at the district.

"Let us proceed to consult with Voight. If it turns out that the officer at the prison has either lied about escapes or mishandled the situation, Voight possesses the ability to uncover the truth," Antonio declared.

Erin awakened after a few hours and is currently engaged in watching television with Burgess, who is seated in a chair beside the bed, Erin stated, glancing towards the younger woman who responded with a cheerful smile. "I am aware, however, that I do not require a babysitter," Erin added.

"However, Voight instructed me to keep an eye on you." Burgess said.

Erin sighed and nodded. "Can you please hand me my phone?" she politely requested, to which Burgess complied, handing her the device. "Thank you. I am going to retrieve something to eat from the cafeteria. Would you like anything?" Burgess asked, preparing to leave.

Erin pondered for a moment and then nodded. "Whatever you choose, kindly procure the same for me," she instructed, as she received her phone and began checking for messages, apart from those from Jay. Burgess acknowledged her request and left the room to fetch their food.

As Erin scrolled through her phone, she nearly dropped it upon receiving a message. Regaining her grip on the device, she glanced at the screen, finding that the message came from an unknown number, with no accompanying name.

Erin, intrigued by the message, clicked to see its contents. It read, 'Hello Erin, miss me?' Erin's eyes widened upon reading the message. She cautiously moved her fingers over to the keypad and replied, 'Who are you?' After pressing send, she set her phone down on her lap, deep in thought about the identity of this unknown person.

Though aware of the potential risks, Erin couldn't resist her curiosity and decided to text back. Her phone then alerted her to another message. Picking up her phone, she read, 'You'll soon find out. Did you appreciate the first message I sent you?'

Erin felt a lump forming in her throat as she texted in response, 'What message? Are you referring to the attack?' Now consumed with curiosity, she wondered who this individual was and how they knew about her. The unknown person replied, 'Ah yes, the attack. It was a warning that I am coming for you.'

Just as she was about to reply, Burgess walked back in, causing her phone to ping once more. Erin glanced at her phone and read the final message, 'I'll see you soon. Oh, and Erin, do not disclose our conversation or your personal connections, or others will suffer.'

"Erin perused the messages before placing her phone down and shifted her attention to Burgess who approached her. The younger woman inquired, 'Is everything satisfactory?' as she positioned Erin's meal on the adjacent table.

"I am well, albeit still fatigued," Erin confessed truthfully. Burgess acknowledged her response and presented Erin with her sandwich. "Why don't you partake in your meal and take some time to rest," she proposed.

Erin expressed her appreciation with a nod upon receiving her sandwich and shrugged slightly. "Perhaps I should, however, I would find more repose if I were in the comfort of my own bed," she suggested.

Burgess expresses agreement with a light-hearted laugh, stating that" Will instructed you to remain until tomorrow," Erin acknowledges with a sigh and a nod. She takes a bite of her sandwich before placing it down and reclining on her back to rest further.
