Babe or Cupcake

I have recently reread the Stephanie Plum series and cannot wait for the next book. Will she finally decide the fate of Stephanie Plum's life? Well, if she doesn't, here is my pick. This is how I for see it. Leave a review and your choice.

This story is for entertainment purposes, I do not own the Stephanie Plum Series or its characters. No monetary gain is being made.

The truth of the matter was that Stephanie Plum had to decide what she wanted. Her life was a mess, and it was obvious to anyone who has ever met her. She decided that she had enough and called on a family meeting. Stephanie needed to be someplace she felt safe, and neutral. Her choice would affect everyone around her.

First, she called Lula. "Hey, I need your opinion on something. You know you are more than a friend, your family." Lula was a former ho who had given up her profession after an incident with an up-and-coming boxer, Benito Ramirez. He left her hanging on my fire escape, and I still cringe when I remember how bloody and battered, she was. Luckily, Benito is no longer around to hurt any more women. Lula now works with her for her cousin Vinnie. "You got it. When and where?" Stephanie told her the time and place. "Six on the dot at my parents' place. Don't be late." Stephanie said over the phone. "Do I need to bring my gun?" Lula asked. "NO! NO GUNS!" Stephanie shouted. "Huh."

The call after that was to Connie. "Connie, I have an emergency going on. Can you meet me at my parent's house at 6 tonight?" Connie was silent for a moment. "Sure, is everything alright?" She asked. "Yes and no. Mostly no, just be there on time and make sure Lula doesn't bring her gun." Connie stuttered a bit. "I'll try, but no promises." After a beat she added. "Do you need me to bring mine, just between the two of us you know Lula is a crap shot?" She asked. "NO!"

Finally, she called her mother, but Grandma Mazur answered instead. "I knew it was you when I heard the phone ring." Grandma Mazur said. "Are you coming to dinner tonight. Your mother is working up a storm with the roast, said she might have found a way to keep it moist so if you do show up late, the roast won't go bad." She heard her mother yelling in the background, asking if she was bringing Morelli, or Joseph as she called him. "No, Morelli isn't coming, but we will be packed. Connie and Lula are coming over." Grandma Mazur repeated the message.

"This will be a pip. Your mother better make extra gravy and desert, with it being Thursday and all. Valerie, Albert and kids come over with everyone Thursday. This pregnancy is worse than the last one. Some people are mean drunks, she is a mean pregnant woman." Stephanie could feel her eye twitch. She had one hamster and Valerie was on her fifth child. "Tell mom I will be there; I have a lot going on and need your help." Grandma Mazur was quiet for a moment, but said really low, "Do you need me to get my g.u.n." Stephanie face palmed herself and shouted no into the phone. "Humph" Grandma responded and hung up.

Stephanie locked herself in her apartment, just her and her trusty hamster Rex. She grabbed a paper and pen, then began to make a list. On another sheet of paper, she began to make another list. Finally, after ten pages of lists, she went over the lists and began to make changes. When it was all said and done, the lists were compacted all into three very important lists.

The title on them read, Career Love Future.

Her phone rang, as she sat there reviewing her three lists over and over. It was almost time to leave to her parents' house. She knew who it was before she even answered. "Babe. I can hear your gears burning from here." Babe covered a lot of territory. This one said I am worried. "I'm good. I was just about to have dinner at my parent's house. "Babe."

Stephanie made a call to Morelli. "Hey. I won't be over tonight, things to do." She told him. "That's OK. I'm burning the midnight oil at both ends." She could hear Bob in the background. "Do you need me to walk Bob?" "No. He is good. See you later."

Please read and review, I will post the next chapter in a couple of days.
