It was always like this in Cedar Cove, the snow is coming down hard enough that the people are not going to come into the flower shop." Paisley thought.
Paisley watched as the snowflakes paired together and fell from the darkened sky. Her cold hands wrapped around a steaming mug of tea. She struggled to stay warm as the air waded through the shop from the busted window in the back. Not worrying about the cold affecting the flowers, they always seemed to grow back. No matter what they always seemed to grow in mysterious way.
"You know they always grow back. No matter what." Her sister said behind her, in turn making her jump as she heard her. She already smelled the scent of coffee from behind her.
"The flowers always seem too." Paisley muttered into her cup of tea as she took a small sip. The snowflakes hitting the glass as they made their way to the ground. When winter rolled around the shop. It seemed they never had any customers which meant that it would be a slow day.
The bell above the wooden door jingled signaling someone had decided to push through the fresh snow and grace them with their presence. Two male voices one with a deep voice, the other with a much higher voice bickered back and forth in the front of the shop.
"Why are we here Zane? Did you and Haley have a bit of a quarrel." A deep voice said.
Paisley stared at the broken window, she wondered how it had even gotten broken. Before she continued to do her work. The dozen bouquet of flowers sitting on the metal desk left untouched.
"OH MY LORD!! THEY ARE FINE AS FUCK!!!" Penelope groaned into her coffee while the poor girl stared out the window at what she presumed to be her customers.
"I WILL BE WITH YOU IN A MOMENT!" Paisley yelled as she took the shiny cutting scissors and cut a nice straight line of ribbon.
The last of the flowers sat, they were poppy if she remembered correctly. The burlap wrap crinkled as she grabbed it wrapping it around the flowers, finishing it with a nice bow.
"I don't know why I pay you if you do not work." Paisley said her two eyebrows knitting together the frown upon her face.
"Because you would be highly bored if you did not have someone here to keep you company." Her sister whispered back harshly. A smile dancing forming upon her face.
"YOU ARE PERFECTLY FINE LOVE, WE HAVE NOWHERE TO BE AT THIS MOMENT!!!" One of the males yelled back, while the other laughed a thurderist laugh.
Paisley finished wrapping the rest of the flowers, as she continued to stare out the darkened sky. She ran her fingers through her tangled hair before deciding to put it up. The fiery red hair that she had accustomed to was then pulled into a bun on top of her head. With a sigh she walked slowly towards the front of her establishment, while her sister followed pursuit.
The two men that stood in the front of her store while she stared at them. One leaned against the counter with his hands in his pocket as he looked around the small room. Every single corner and nook covered in flowers, she knew what others saw when she looked around she knew where everything was. The other man touched a rose and pulled his hand back, she had guessed that he had pricked one of his fingers.
The one that leaned against her counter, had a pale complexion with black relaxed hair that fell behind his ears. His eyes the color of charcoal, the black pair of pants that had silver chains hooked to and from them. A long black shirt that showed off his muscles a little to well when he shoved his hands in his pockets. The metal chain that was hooked to one of his belt loops hit the metal counter with a loud clank in the otherwise quiet shop interrupted her thoughts.
While the other man was dressed in more flashier and expensive attire. He wore a pair of purple dress pants, with a white button up shirt that the sleeves were half buttoned up to show some tattoos on his forearms, it had a white fluffy vest to match. His white hair slicked back behind his ears to show off his gray eyes. His complexion was white as fresh snow. They looked to be brothers but they could not be any more different.
"Hi my name is Paisley, excuse me for the wait." She said in a sarcastic way while she looked at the one in the vest up and down. Paisley rolled her eyes at the one in the vest, she wondered why they had come into her shop today.
"How may I help you today, I just got a shipment of seeds that I wish to continue." Paisley said while her eyes continued to watch the man by the counter. The other man chuckled under his breath while he stared at her with flirtatious eyes.
"Hello I am Zane and this is my brother Hayden. I am looking for flowers for my wife, we had a bit of quarrel last night." Zane said while he flicked his wrist at the other man.
"Do you even know what flowers she likes? Or if she prefers chocolates or flowers?" Paisley said harshly while she looked at the man that was named Hayden.
"I know that she loves anything that I buy her." Zane said while he shoved his hands in his vest, while he sister who had stood behind her snorted into her coffee. Paisley had seen the type of the man that stood before her. He was from money and he wasn't afraid to show it.
She glanced at the other man who had remained quiet through this whole interaction. Except for when Zane said his wife loved anything he bought her, when he raised his eyebrow.
"Do you know what type of flowers she likes?" Paisley asked the other man accusingly. He had already checked his watch six times already while he stood in her shop.
"Haley likes Tiger Lilies, we had gotten some for her birthday last year." He told her while he continued to look at his watch for the seventh time.
"I have some white Tiger Lilies in the back! They are absolutely absolutely gorgeous. I will go get them." Paisley said a tiny smile forming across her face. Speed walking towards the back of her place. She wondered what his favorite flower. Her sister's flirtatious laughs floated through the small flower shop made her stop in her tracks.
"Your wife is one lucky woman." Her sister's voice said with a flirtatious tone, she didn't even want to know which one her sister was flirting with. Paisley hoped to the gods it was not Hayden. What was she even hoping for that. He probably wasn't even interested.
"I am the lucky one, my wife brought me out of a very dark place." Zane said while she probably guessed he smiled.
Paisley picked up the flowers and leaned against one of the walls, she hoped to hear the rest of their conversation.
"What about you?Do you have a wife or perhaps a girlfriend?" Her sister asked who she knew to be Hayden.
"Nope, just my puppy Ares." A deep voice floated through the small establishment. A smile forming on her face she blinked so he was single.
"Dude the tiny florist that owns this was totally into you. She kept staring at you while I tried my Zane charm on her. She only wants you." Zane said towards Hayden.
"Oh I do not know, you always says someone likes me. Then I find out they actually want you." Hayden said.
"Maybe you should ask her out for tea or coffee, you know Haley and I are always looking for a couple to double date. I would love to see you settle with a women, so this small town has 3200 women so pick any one of these women and date them little brother." Zane said while Paisley walked out with the Tiger Lilies in hand.
She quickly glanced at Hayden while she placed the Tiger Lilies on the counter. While her sister picked up the coffee that she had completely forgotten about. Zane smiled at the flowers then smiled a full smile, she knew she had chosen the right flowers.
"How much do I owe you love?" Zane asked boldly while his smile remained on his face. He carefully handed them to Hayden, who smiled a tiny smile while Zane reached for his wallet. Zane was probably used to being handed everything to him, a man with a silver spoon in his mouth. The joys of having money she guessed.
"It is on the house today." Paisley said which even surprised herself, might as well go with it. She took three small breaths to control her nerves which were through the roof right now. "As long as he gets coffee with me." She said while it sounded like she was underwater. Her finger pointed towards Hayden as she shook furiously.
Her fingers lingered on the pink wrapping paper debating if she wanted to wrap it up. She only realized that she had just asked someone out. And he was hot which even hit harder.
Hayden smiled a small smile while he shoved his hands in his pockets. "Well I will have to see what my schedule is. I will get back to you."
What could possibly go wrong with going out with a hot guy? She wondered as the two men walked out of the shop
