Authors notes: Greetings fellow creatives, Hero Central here with a new story. I was first introduced to He-Man when I watched a few episodes of the 2002 reboot series and I found it cool to watch, and some years later I find the original cartoons and was hooked on the franchise since. Yes I have seen Masters of the Universe Revelation, and despite its bad press I thought it was pretty good, an interesting direction to take in terms of a story line but it defiantly needed more He-Man in that revival. Let's just hope come part 2 and beyond things will get back on track.
As for W.I.T.C.H believe it or not I once stumbled across this series one faithful day after a long day High School. I watched it on CBBC, at first I thought it was just a girls show, but after a few episodes I grew to like it, sue me it had a lot of action and interesting storylines. At the time I had also seen the 2007 TMNT film and I often saw them in a crossover with W.I.T.C.H. However after seeing Revelations and the classic He-Man series both classic and 2002, I could see this had more potential as a crossover.
Now in terms of the timeline this takes place after the 2002 He-Man episode The Last Stand and To Walk with Dragons, and season 1 of W.I.T.C.H, most of the story will be canon with some alterations but there will be some original chapters that take place in Eternia with some aspects of the classic series and Revelations (only the good parts done right) mixed in
Now without further delay let's begin a new tale BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL!
I DON'T OWN ANY OF THE CHARACTERS THEY BELONG TO THEIR RIGHTFUL OWNERS THIS IS JUST FOR FUN!

It begins: New Power
"I am Adam, prince of Eternia, defender of the secrets of Castle Grayskull." Adam introduced gesturing to Cringer. "This is Cringer my fearless friend. Fabulous secret powers were revealed to me…." Adam pulled his sword of power from his back. "…The day I held aloft my magic sword and said…."
"...BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL!"
A bolt of lightning crashes down from the sky and strikes the tip of the sword empowering Adam until he transformed into his alter ego. He-Man
"I….HAVE THE POWER!"
With a point of his sword energy surged and struck Cringer transforming him into He-Mans loyal companion Battle Cat.
"Cringer became the mighty Battle Cat, and I became…He-Man the most powerful man in the universe!" He-Man said. "Only three others share my secret…."
"The Sorceress mystical guardian of Grayskull…" The Sorceress appeared with her magic staff in hand. "Man at Arms, heroic master of technology…" Man At Arms leaps in and forms an energy cannon from his left hand gauntlet. "…and Orko, royal court jester." Orko appears in a flash before casting magic.
"Together we defend Castle Grayskull from the evil forces of Skeletor…" The demon Skeletor appears alongside his acolytes of evil, Evil Lyn, Beastman, Tri-Klops,Trap Jaw, Merman, Whiplash, Stinkor and Two Bad.
"…However that is only the beginning, for far away in an alternate universe a great evil rises in the land of Meridian, a Rebellion fighting a great struggle against the tyrannical grip of an evil ruler. If they have any hope of reclaiming their home, five champions of light must emerge, and with help from another champion will fight this evil and must win for the sake of all. And this is where our story begins..."
Castle Grayskull: Eternia:
On the distant planet of Eternia lay Castle Grayskull the great fortress of mystery. Night had all but fallen on the planet, but for its guardian rest is never an option. For sitting on the throne in the great hall, was the Sorceress who looked like an Egyptian goddess with eagle like wings on her back with a staff with golden wings. Her eyes were closed as she saw a vision, not of events on Eternia but of another world.
Meanwhile in another universe:
The world of Meridian, a world once vibrant kingdom of life and music, was now a land of darkness and sorrow. The architecture of the village resembled that of a medieval age. While standing atop a mountain was a castle that looked so dark and malevolent that it would be considered Meleficent's vacation home. It lay underneath a storm system that looked more like a dark vortex and below were roots covered with thorns.
A mighty rainstorm pours down from above, however watching from afar was a young man of sixteen years of age. He had brown hair, with green eyes and wore a brown trench coat over a white shirt with gray pants and brown boots, he wore brown fingerless gloves.
He daringly slipped into the castle grounds running along its walls before arriving at a room. It was the armoury, which was full of crates and barrels of gunpowder. There was a guard who had dark greyish brown skin wearing dark grey spiked armour, a grey harness and guard robes with dark brown boots and had a large bladed axe.
The boy had slipped into the armoury behind the crates as the guard slept on the job. He looked in a crate to find it was full of swords, he recognised the blades all too well indeed.
"Phobos steals our weapons to use against us." He said quitly to himself scowling at how their own weapons were being used. He looked and spotted a bow hanging on the wall, he recognised the craftsmanship and didn't hesitate to take it from the wall.
"Aldarns father made this bow." He found what he came here for a pile of barrels.
Outside just across from the moat, his compatriot who had pale green skin with white horn like features on his head, and wore purple and maroon coloured robes. Waited in the thorns.
Back in the armoury, the boy began pushing the barrels of powder out of the window one by one. Each one fell into the water below, however this didn't go unnoticed by the guard in the tower who quickly made his way to the armoury.
While below Aldarn fished out the barrels with a pole however he was beginning to worry about the time his comrade was taking.
"Caleb thats enough. Get out!" He said with concern.
However it was too late for while Caleb threw the barrels out the window the sentry from outside had woken his fellow guard. "Hey you!" He cried.
"Looks like plan B." Caleb realised as he leaped from the barrels, swung from a rope grabbing a lit torch and jammed it into a powder barrel tossing it at the guards, who ran quickly into the other room. The barrel followed and the guards along with a Lurden ran out the room before it exploded.
This explosion alerted the other guards on duty and a horn was sounded throughout the castle alerting everyone quickly grabbed their weapons namely axes and hurried to the armoury.
Caleb knew he had to escape, so with his newly acquired bow, he tossed another barrel and fired a flaming arrow. Setting the barrel ablaze and rolling into the wall which exploded soon after.
Aldarn was more than alerted when he saw his friend leap from the hole and into the moat below. The rebel soon surfaced but there was something behind him.
"Caleb! Behind you!" Aldarn warned and Caleb turned to see what looked like a giant sea monster with red eyes show its fangs at its prey.
Aldarn acted quickly throwing a spear at the monster injuring it long enough for Caleb to swim to shore. Aldarn helped his friend out of the water only for an arrow to strike the ground. They looked and saw the guards armed with bows and arrows fired a barrage of arrows at them. They needed to retreat. Aldarn tried to grab whatever gunpowder he could, but it was pointless.
"Leave the powder! Go!" Caleb called and so they quickly fled.
The guards and Lurdens roared in frustration, however they weren't alone. For watching in the smoke was a rather large looking humanoid snake man with green and lime green coloured skin with traces of red on his face and chest. He had long platinum blonde coloured hair.
He grabbed an injured guard from the explosion and brought him to his face. "Who did thissss." The snake man hissed.
"A boy one of the rebels." The guard coughed.
"Find him!" The snake man hissed.
Suddenly the vision of the sorceress changed to a strange dark void. Where stood five strange orbs of energy that then turned to five individuals with fairy like wings and changed to reveal a pink crystal in a jewelled engraving on a string.
The Sorceress gasped her eyes shot open taking several deep breaths in shock. A million questions flooded her head, why did she have this vision? Could whats happening in the kingdom she saw be a greater threat than the evils in Snake Mountain? She had no answers but from that vision she had she said only one word.
"Kandrakar." She breathed.
The Next Day: The Royal Palace of Eternos:
The sun shone onto the majestic Royal Palace of Eternos ruled by King Randor and his Queen Marlena. Its golden spires glistened in the sun. Within the castle courtyard surrounded by the statues of Eternia's Elders training was taking place.
The two sparring was a young man sixteen years old, with a white sleeveless shirt, under a red and light red sleeveless jacket with overhanging shoulders, blue pants with brown furred boots, brown gloves with metal plates on them. He had blonde hair and blue eyes. He was Adam Prince of Eternia and defender of the secrets of Castle Grayskull.
His opponent was a young woman with long red hair in a braid and bangs. She wore a white uniform with blue shoulders, and gold and metal belt with a gold skirt of metal diamond shapes, gold bracelets on her wrists and arms with dark brown and light furred boots. In her hand she had a staff with a cobras head on it. She was Teela captain of the guard in the palace, best friend to Adam and famous for besting him in training.
They were armed with staffs and stared each other down ready for combat. Watching from afar or rather relaxing was a tiger who had green fur with orange stripes, yellow and black eyes. This was Cringer, Adam's 'fearless' friend.
The other was an older man with green and orange coloured armour, with traces of brown fur on his arms and boots. He had a grey metal helmet with orange circuit patterns. With a grey metal belt round his waist with brown furs. He had a brown moustache under his nose. He was Duncan, Man at Arms leader of the Masters of the Universe.
Suddenly Teela attacked first swinging her staff at Adam who quickly dodged her attack. He then swung his staff towards her who managed to backflip away from his attacks.
"Heh your getting better at dodging your attacks Adam." Teela smirked.
"You sound surprised Teela, maybe today I'll win the spar." Adam said rather cocky.
Teela smirked and leaped towards Adam swinging her staff only for Adam to dodge it as it hit the ground to then perform a spin kick to kick Teela away. However she quickly recovered and avoided another staff strike from Adam sliding under his arm then striking him in the back with her staff. He fell to the ground, he was about to be struck down with Teela's staff until he rolled out of the way and tripped her up.
Adam looked to be victorious when suddenly Teela backflipped over the prince and trapped him in an arm lock. "Don't put your hopes up." Teela smirked as she then released Adam.
"But you did last longer this time." Teela then admitted.
"Well a students only as good as their teacher right?" Adam teased. "Besides it helps after standing your ground against a horde of villains when the other Masters were held prisoner."
"Yeah hard to believe you stood up to Skeletor given how you never show up to a fight?" Teela then said still questioning Adam's bravery or lack of fighting skills.
"Be that as it may Teela, Adam has shown some improvement and during the battle it did buy He-Man the time he needed to arrive at Grayskull." Man at Arms said.
Prince Adams life had all but taken a rather interesting turn on the day he turned sixteen. For the evil forces of Keldor now known as Skeletor managed to break down the great barrier separating the Dark hemisphere from the rest of Eternia. King Randor and the Masters fight to protect the realm but ultimately a new hero was needed. Thats when the Sorceress gifted Adam with the sword of power where fabulous secret powers were revealed to him the day he held aloft the sword and upon calling down the power of Grayskull, became He-Man the most powerful man in the universe, as foretold. Only the Sorceress, Man at Arms, Cringer and Orko a magician from Trala share this secret.
However Adam had to keep his identity a secret from those he loved in order to protect them. Which did mean he had to play the act of a lazy warrior who is never seen in battle.
However when Skeletor assembled a council of Evil villains such as Count Marzo, Evilseed, Webstor and the Giants. The Masters were all captured and picked off one by one, and in an attempt to rescue them Teela was captured and Adam lost his Sword of Power. He faced Skeletor and the council alone and outnumbered with Cringer at his side. Despite his efforts he failed only for Orko to appear with his sword in the nick of time and with the Masters freed by Zodac they fought of this evil. Now Randor had formed a new council and the fight to protect Eternia continued.
"You've both come a long way and as we learn from each battle our experience grows with us." Man at Arms explained.
The two smiled at that notion when suddenly Adam felt a sudden pain in his head. "Prince Adam." Called the voice of the Sorceress she was calling him telepathically.
Teela noticed this, and Man at Arms could only guess what was happening. "Hey you okay?" Teela asked.
"Ah I'm fine just getting a bit of a headache." Adam explained.
"Uh Teela why don't you go see if Stratos needs assistance in the west wing." Man at Arms suggested to his daughter.
"Yes father." Teela said and took her leave leaving Adam and Duncan alone.
"Prince Adam, Man at Arms." Called the voice again and an astral projection of the Sorceress appeared before them. "You both must come to Castle Grayskull at once, I fear a grave threat is on the horizon."
Castle Grayskull:
Soon enough within the walls of Castle Grayskull, the prince with Man at Arms and Cringer in tow had arrived. Within the inner sanctum the Sorceress stood before her giant viewing mirror.
"Last night I had a vision, I fear a great darkness is threatening the universe itself." The Sorceress explained.
"A vision?" Man at Arms questioned.
"Does this darkness threaten Eternia because we'll stop it." Adam then said.
"I have no doubts, however it is not Eternia that this evil threatens." The Sorceress then said.
"Not Eternia?!" Adam and Duncan said in shock.
"I do not understand what is the meaning of the vision you had?" Man at Arms asked.
"Allow me to explain this story has not been told in many years." The Sorceress explained as she illuminated her viewing mirror, showing a kingdom of light.
"Many years ago a realm named Meridian was one a place of light and happiness, ruled by two great and kind rulers." She explained.
"Meridian, I haven't heard that name in so long." Man at Arms said.
"Wait you know what that realm is Duncan?" Adam asked.
"As does your father, Adam for you see there are realms and worlds beyond the confines of Eternia. Sometime after you were born, your father and I ventured to Meridian to expand a peaceful alliance." Man at Arms explained. "However we were called back some weeks after to tend to matters in Eternia, we haven't returned since."
"Wow sounds amazing." Adam said before they turned their attention back to the Sorceress.
"Alas I am afraid this once beautiful world has fallen to darkness. So it was decided by a great and powerful council at the Heart of Infinity to cast an all powerful veil to quarantine this land to prevent the evil from spreading." The Sorceress continued as the image of a beautiful kingdom turned to a land of sin and sorrow. "However I fear this evil may seek something beyond the veil."
"But if this Veil prevents anything from getting out how can he pass through it?" Adam wondered.
"Portals, corridors that allow travel from one point to another are piercing the veil allowing evil to seep through." The Sorceress explained. "However there are those charged with the duty of safeguarding this Veil by sealing these portals with their powers. They are known as the Guardians of the Veil."
"Guardians huh, but hold on if this veil is protected why should we be worried? I mean if these Guardians can keep evil at bay, whats the problem?" Adam then questioned.
"The previous Guardians time has passed and I sense a new generation shall rise in their place." The Sorceress explained. "However I sense events are now in motion that cannot be undone and this evil may give rise to a greater power yet to reveal itself. Which is why He-Man is needed."
Adam and Duncan were starting to get the picture, while Cringer was getting a little nervous. "So you want me to go to Meridian and fight this evil?" Adam guessed.
"Yes I would go myself, but as you know I have little power outside this castle." The Sorceress explained. "However you won't be going to Meridian itself for the Veil prohibits conventional universal travel, however the world evil is leaking into I can send you there."
However Adam wasn't so sure. "Hold on, what about Eternia, and Castle Grayskull I can't just leave what if Skeletor attacks while I'm gone He-Mans gonna be needed you said so yourself?"
Man at Arms placed a hand on Adams shoulder. "Adam if this threat is as great as, the Sorceress says then you must act and help these new guardians. Don't worry the Masters and I shall keep Grayskull defended in your absence."
Though Duncans words did comfort Adam a bit, there was still one more matter to consider. "And what about my mother and father? I'll need an excuse for why I'm gone."
"Do not worry Adam, I have a solution." The Sorceress said and explained to them what they needed to say.
The Royal Palace: The Throne Room:
Soon after their return from Castle Grayskull, Man at Arms requested an audience with his old friend King Randor, who wore robes of red with gold armour, he had a gold gauntlet on his right hand and a metal on on his left. His right leg was a prosthetic given his leg was lost during the Great Unrest. He had long brown hair with a beard and blue eyes with a crown upon his head and a white furred cape.
His wife Marlena wore a white dress with red linings and gold bracelets. She had brown hair tied in a bun with a gold crown on her head with a red jewel.
"A quest Duncan?" Randor asked.
"Yes the Sorceress of Grayskull told me that there is a world in need, and while a new generation of warriors rise they need help." Man at Arms explained. "So she suggested that Adam should go and aid them."
"But why Adam he's still a boy?" Marlena asked with concern.
"Because she believes he can offer them assistance, as you have given him. He can also learn independence in the field." Man at Arms said.
"He's right father I mean you once said a King must be capable of many skills, I think I need this." Adam agreed.
Randor was deep in thought on this, during his time as a captain he too had to lead the Defenders into battle to protect the Hall of Wisdom from his half brother Keldor and his dark forces. He knew his son had a lot to be desired as far as, warrior courage and ways of a king are concerned. If this could help him who was he to deny his son the chance.
"Hmm perhaps this quest to aid warriors maybe good for Adam to learn independence, as I once did." Randor then said. "I understand your concern Marlena but Adam must be the one to make this journey. Son are you prepared to take on this quest, it will not be easy?"
"I am father." Adam nodded with confidence.
"Very well then you have my permission to undertake this quest." Randor finally decided. Unaware that someone was listening in on this meeting.
Soon Adam was in his room gathering some essentials he needed for his trip. "So I hear your going on some quest huh?" Adam turned round and saw Teela standing in his bedroom doorway.
"Yeah it came up all of a sudden." Adam said chuckling.
"Hard to understand why you would need to go help some new warriors train, unless your teaching them how to not show up in battle?" Teela teased.
"Funny, and hey who knows maybe I'll learn something from them. I do tend to surprise people. Jealous you can't come?" Adam then asked.
"Oh please, I have my duties as captain of the guard." Teela said, but then her face turned to a soft expression. "Just be careful out there okay, wouldn't want the prince and my best friend getting hurt."
Adam smiled softly at his friend. "Hey you know me I can take care of myself, and don't worry I have a feeling Eternia's in good hands." He said offering an arm wrestling handshake which Teela accepted.
"Take care Adam." Teela said.
Soon at the gates to the kingdom Randor and Marlena were bidding their son goodbye who stood with Cringer. "Travel safe Adam, and remember your representing the kingdom and must be respectful of other cultures, and remember your training."
"I will father and don't worry I'll be safe and will return soon." Adam said to his parents. His mother gave him one last hug.
"Be careful Adam, and be safe." Marlena said before kissing him on the cheek.
"I'll be okay mother." Adam said in assurance.
"Make us proud son." Randor said before Adam boarded a sky sled with Cringer and took to the sky. Despite everything Marlena still couldn't help but worry for her son, while Randor was concern he knew his son had to learn independence and leadership as a king someday.
Castle Grayskull:
Adam, Cringer and the Sorceress now stood before what looked like a golden portal leading to parts unknown.
"These will be your final instructions before leaving on your quest Prince Adam." The Sorceress explained, she used her magic to conjure what looked like a small mirror with gold framing and magic symbols. "Take this, it is a magic mirror, it shall allow you to contact me should you need guidance or assistance."
Adam took the mirror from the Sorceress and placed it in his back pack. However for some reason it felt rather heavy. It didn't take long for him to deduce why.
"Hm looks like I have a stowaway." Adam smirked and opened his bag and flying out of it was a small being with blue skin and a concealed face under a red wizards hat with blue ears popping out of it. He wore red and yellow wizards robe with a purple scarf. He has yellow eyes with black pupils.
"Oh uh hi." Orko greeted shyly.
"Orko." Adam said knowingly.
"Oh okay I overheard you and Man at Arms talking to the King and Queen it sounded important so I decided to tag along." Orko admitted. "My magic can help!"
Adam looked to the Sorceress who nodded telling him it was okay for Orko to accompany him on this journey. "Okay you can tag along." Adam chuckled.
"Yes!" Orko cheered as he floated next to Adam and Cringer.
"Now know this Adam the world you are traveling to is very different to Eternia, it will be unknown to you as you will be to its inhabitants, and the laws of this world won't apply there." The Sorceress explained. "However should He-Man be needed it must remain a secret that you and he are one and the same for if the dark forces were to gain this knowledge and be allowed to leak past the veil it could bring great harm to those you love. However, the only ones you may entrust this to are to the Guardians."
"I understand." Adam acknowledged before turning to Orko. "As does Orko."
"Oh uh right heh." Orko said.
"Very well enter the portal now Prince Adam, and upon your arrival look for the place where the Silver Dragon resides, further information about the threat you face shall be given to you." The Sorceress explained. "And good luck."
Adam nodded before turning to his cat friend. "Well you ready for an adventure Cringer?"
"Oooo I..I'm ready Adam." Cringer simply said as he looking rather nervous and shaky but nodded with a smile, wanting to follow Adam no matter where he went. With that the trio entered the portal leaving Eternia and setting off into the unknown.
Soon the trio emerged on the other side of the portal, which sealed shut behind them. However they were greeted by a down pour of rain. Much to Cringers dismay.
"Aw great we would have to end up in a world where it rains!" Adam complained.
"Oh no I hate getting wet!" Cringer whined.
Orko took the initiative and reached into his right sleeve, pulling out an umbrella in red and white with a gold sword hilt handle. He placed it over Adam and Cringer to try and help them.
"Thanks Orko." Adam thanked.
"Never leave home without it, always good to have a backup plan." Orko said happily.
The group saw they were in what looked like an alleyway. When they walked out of it however they couldn't believe what they saw, for before them were rather large buildings with tall skyscrapers in the distance, the people looked like normal humans and wore what to them were rather unusual clothes. Adam was so amazed he walked out and didn't see a yellow car coming towards him, he heard a horn and quickly stepped out of the road.
"Hey watch where your going kid!" Called the driver.
Adam was completely startled by this. "Whoa what kind of vehicle was that? It's just as fast as a sky sled!?"
"I'll say I've never seen anything like that before." Orko agreed. "But the Sorceress did say this world was different from Eternia."
"Yeah I guess, well we better get moving the Sorceress said we need to find where the Silver Dragon resides, so I guess we need to find a dragon." Adam said.
"D…d..dragon oh boy!" Orko shivered remembering he's a little scared of Dragons especially after he and Stratos had to lure the dragons back to Eternia to help protect the council from Skeletors beasts.
So the trio began walking down the street under the cover of Orko's umbrella, to seek out this, Silver Dragon.
The Silver Dragon:
Oblivious to the Eternian's in their midst the people of Heatherfield continued their daily lives. In the city was a small chinese restaurant named the Silver Dragon, and in the living area a young girl about twelve years old with purple hair in long tails, and wore a pink and yellow shirt with a green skirt and shoes. She was enjoying her breakfast.
Meanwhile her grandmother Yan Lin was doing some ironing down stairs. Hay Lin was now gathering her things for school, however before she left she felt a sneeze coming on. She sneezed and what felt like a hurricane blew through her room windows crashing and belongings flying all over the place.
The next sneeze shook the whole room which surprised Yan Lin, she realised it could only be one thing. Hay Lins room was completely trashed and the last of her breakfast fell on her face.
Suddenly Yan Lin spotted a bright light coming from her closet, she opened it and discovered a pink light coming from a small box. She gasped seeing this crystal acting up meant one thing, the time had come. Then suddenly.
"Yan Lin…." Called a voice it was that of a woman.
"Grandma." Called a voice and Yan Lin quickly hid the crystal in her closet to see her granddaughter. She looked rather distressed.
"Oh uh Hay Lin whats the trouble?" Yan Lin asked.
"I sneezed and totally trashed my room, whats wrong with me?" Hay Lin asked. "This isn't one of those becoming a woman things is it?"
Yan Lin could only chuckle at that. "Hay Lin you are just a growing girl, say why don't you invite some friends for an after school snack?" She then suggested. Suddenly a bright light from the closet nearly forced the doors open. Yan Lin quickly closed it.
"What's in there?" Hay Lin gasped.
"Christmas presents. Don't look." Yan Lin said coming up with the best excuse as her grand daughter came over.
"What are you giving me? A bear with a spotlight?" Her granddaughter asked.
Yan Lin quickly changed the subject. "Oh, you could invite Cornelia. And Taranee and... Oh, that funny girl Irma."
"Sure what a great idea!" Hay Lin realised, then another thought suddenly came over her almost by magic. "Oh hey maybe I'll invite that new girl Will. I wonder why I thought of her?" She wondered as the light from the crystal tried to open the door again with Yan Lin forcing it shut.
"Anyway you better get going or you'll be late for school." Yan Lin said looking at the time.
"Oh yeah see you later Grandma." Hay Lin said bidding her grandmother goodbye.
Now she was alone, Yan Lin opened the closet and looked at the glowing object in the box. Then suddenly an astral projection of a certain Sorceress appeared.
"It has been a long time Teela Na." Yan Lin greeted. "I haven't heard from you in such a long time you look just the same."
"As is the duty that comes with being the Guardian of Grayskull." The Sorceress explained. "Even from afar I sensed the heart awakening."
"Then you know the time has come." Yan Lin realised.
"Indeed, and I fear a power greater than what is faced in Meridian may yet give rise to a more dangerous foe. That is why I have decided to send my champion to aid the new Guardians." The Sorceress explained.
"This champion has he arrived?" Yan Lin asked.
"Yes though he is not used to this world, you must seek him and bring him to meet the new guardians. I also sense the one who shall lead them will be arriving soon." The Sorceress sensed.
"Of course and one of them is my granddaughter." Yan Lin explained.
"As is to be expected she inherited your connection to the Auramere. Though I suspect the council will have questions of my involvement." The Sorceress said.
"Indeed but let's let the fates decide, until then I wish you well old friend." Yan Lin bowed.
"Until we speak again." The Sorceress said as her astral projection disappeared.
Meanwhile:
As the rain continued to fall, a school buss pulled up outside the Sheffield institute unloading school kids of the seventh and twelfth grades. Then a red car pulled up with its newest student. A girl about thirteen years of age with short red hair named Will Vandom came out with an umbrella in hand.
"Go on, Will, and don't forget, make lots of new friends today." Her mother Susan said with a loving smile. "I put extra cookies in your lunch, to help break the ice with the other girls."
"Gee that'll make me popular." Will said as she waved goodbye to her mother. She drove off leaving Will to get soaked from the spray of the school bus driving away. She hurried to school so as not to miss the next bell. However just as she passed a puddle, she looked at her reflection in the water and much to her surprise it was of herself a little older and was dressed an awful lot like a fairy.
She was startled, she shook her head and closed her eyes and when she looked again her reflection was back to normal. "O...kay thats weird?" She then proceeded inside.
Meridian:
Back in Meridian Aldarn and Caleb were still on the run from the palace after their failed raid. They hurried to the jagged rocks and cliffs.
"I told you to take a rope." Aldarn said to Caleb.
"You also told me I couldn't get in the castle." Caleb said showing his friend the bow he took from the castle. "Here's your father's bow. At least this won't be used against us."
Suddenly they came to a stop before the edge of a cliff. They had arrived at a gorge, it was too deep to even think about jumping down and they had no rope to scale the mountains.
At that moment however they had bigger problems, for the echoing sounds of loud inhuman roars could be heard from a distance. They looked and saw castle guards and Luerdens charging towards them some of them riding large rhino like looked like they were trapped, however when they looked in the gorge they saw a familiar looking folk of strange ostrich like creatures.
"Hoogons!" They both exclaimed. With the small battalion drawing near the two quickly ran to the gorge and the stone towers.
"How far down do you think it goes?" Aldarn asked.
"Jump and I'll tell you." Caleb said as they jumped down the smaller stone towers and managed to get down to the ground where the Hoogons were.
The battalion drew closer and closer, wasting no time the two rebels leaped from the stones and onto the backs of two Hoogons. The birds were startled and rode around spooked and out of control.
"Easy boy! Easy boy! Whoa!" Aldarn exclaimed.
"Whoa, you ugly, over-grown chicken." Caleb exclaimed trying to get the animal under control. "I said, whooooa!"
The Battalion came to a sudden stop on the edge of the gorge and roared in frustration seeing their quarry disappear from view. As Caleb and Aldarn were relived the guards were furious.
Earth:
The city streets of Heatherfield were alive with people out and about. The rains had come to a stop and the sun was out. However, some of the peoples attention were drawn to a rather unusual site. Namely on a young man who had a floating small guy in wizards clothes and a green and orange tiger who wasn't a dog.
"Uh Adam, they're staring at us." Cringer whispered.
"I know Cringer it's like they haven't seen tigers before." Adam said almost like it was nothing.
One stranger eyed Orko strangely, and the wizard/jester took an offence. "Hey what are you looking at? Have you never seen a wizard before?" He then pulled out of his sleeve a flower.
Suddenly it soon got worse. "You there halt!" They turned to see a man dressed in a blue uniform with a gold badge on his hat.
"Uh oh now we're in trouble." Cringer cringed hiding behind Adam.
"Uh whats the trouble sir?"Adam asked the police officer.
"The trouble sir is that large tiger of yours son. Its against the law to have an animal such as that loose in the city." The Police Officer said. Then noticed his sword on his back. "Also do you have a license for that sword?"
"Oh is that all, it's okay he's actually very shy he won't harm a fly." Adam tried to explain.
"All the same son it's not safe having a wild animal walking around." The Police Officer said and then he looked at Orko. "And uh who's your floating friend?"
"Oh I'm Orko I'm a wizard." The Tralan explained.
The Police Officer looked rather suspicious of the three of them. "Oh I see your some kind of travelling circus."
"Travelling circus?" Adam wondered.
"Hey I'm a genuine wizard the whole court jester is a side gig!" Orko said a little offended.
The Police officer took a moment to think, before coming to a decision. "Okay I'm afraid you three will have to come with me down to the station."
"Station!" Adam looked a little startled. "Wait theres some kind of mistake we're just trying to find where the Silver Dragon lies."
From afar someone over heard what was going on but the officer would have none of it. "I'm sorry but I must ask you to come with…"
"Stop thief!" cried a voice. "He stole my purse!" The officer heard the call and completely forgot about the three strangers.
"Stay there." The officer said. "Hey stop!" He called trying to find the thief.
Cringer was all but relieved that the policeman was gone, and silently so was Adam. However the surprises weren't over just yet. "Pst." Said a voice they looked around for the source.
"Pst you three!" The voice called and they looked to see someone an old woman standing in an alleyway. "This way hurry!"
Adam and his companions were hesitant to trust this stranger. However Cringer not wanting that officer to come back thought differently. "Adam lets go!" He winged and so the three headed into the alley way where the woman was waiting for them.
The woman was actually Yan Lin who greeted the young Eternian prince and his comrades. "Whew that was close." Cringer panted in relief.
Adam then looked to the old woman. "So hey why'd you help us back there?"
"Well its obvious young man you three aren't of Earth am I correct?" Yan Lin asked which all but surprised the prince, Orko and Cringer.
"How..did you know?" Adam asked.
"She must be a mage of some kind?" Orko guessed.
"Not quite lets just say a mutual friend of ours told me of your arrival and how to find you." Yan Lin explained.
Adam wasn't sure but he had a suspicion he knew who she was talking about. "Wait you mean the Sorceress?"
"Yes, my name is Yan Lin and the Sorceress is an old friend of mine, now come with me you three look starved." Yan Lin explained as she walked down the alley way. Cringer liked the sound of food so he decided to follow, and soon so did Adam and Orko. However the prince had a number of questions.
"Hang on where are you taking us?" Adam asked.
"Patience young man, all of your questions will be answered soon." Yan Lin merely said. "Oh by the way what is your name?"
"Adam, Prince Adam." He simply replied.
"Well a pleasure to meet you Adam." Yan Lin said as they walked down the alleyway towards the Silver Dragon.
Sheffield Institute:
At the school many students were gathered in the Gymnasium as there was a big science fair being held today. One table had a group of three girls one was a fourteen year old girl with long blonde hair and blueish grey eyes, a pink sweater with a dark magenta skirt. The girl on her left was a girl with light brown wavy hair, with greenish blue eyes a red v neck shirt a marsh green jacket with blue jeans. The other girl was a thirteen year old brown skinned girl with brown eyes and blue black hair with a strand hanging off. She wore glasses an orange coat , beige pants and orange sneakers.
They were Cornelia Hale, Irma Lair and Taranee Cook, and right now they had a problem with their project.
"Cornelia, our project's supposed to prove that too much fertiliser reverses osmosis killing the plant." Taranee gestured to the three plant pots in front of them one was starting to grow the second looked barely grown, and a third fully grown. "Yours has grown like three inches."
"Well, I tried to kill it. I fertilised its little butt off." Cornelia sighed in annoyance given how much she tried to over feed the plant. However right now they had bigger concerns such as the approach of two certain indiviuals that Irma had just noticed.
"The judge!" She gasped.
The judges were Principal Knickerbocker and another judge who were walking towards them. Acting quickly Irma and Taranee quickly stepped in front of their table. While Cornelia just started hitting the plant with her fists to try and kill it. The judges looked back only for Taranee and Irma to smile innocently, it seems they didn't notice.
"Oh, great. You and your little girly fists will cost us a ribbon." Irma said with a forced smile. Cornelia managed to kill the plant, however miraculously it started to grow back again two seconds later. Just what was going on?
Soon Will entered the gym, she had only just started school, and didn't have a science project to submit. So she decided to look around. However she was soon noticed by a group of punk kids, their leader had spiked up orange hair.
"Hey, check out the new girl." The lead punk said. "Hey, Wilma." He teased.
"Uh its just Will." She glared back seeing those guys were clearly the bullies of the school.
"Okay Willma!" The bully teased which made his crew laugh. Soon Will came over to see Hay Lin and the other girls.
"That's Uriah, ignore him." Hay Lin said.
"Yeah, evolution did. One day we expect him to slither back into the water." Irma simply said.
While the bulk boy with purple hair was taking a drink from the water fountain, all of a sudden the water rose from the fountain twirled and splashed right into Uriah's face. This made everyone in the gym laugh with amusement while Irma all but looked startled by how it happened.
"Hey!" Uriah exclaimed to the one he thought was responsible.
"Sorry, Uriah. I don't know what happened." Kurt said having no idea what occurred.
The five girls shared a giggle in amusement before Will pulled out a piece of paper. "Hay Lin, I got your note. Thanks for the invitation. So, what time are we eating?" Will asked.
Irma and Taranee smiled to know Hay Lin invited her in the hopes of making a new however had other thoughts on the idea.
"She invited new girl, too?" She said aloud.
"Cornelia!" Taranee scolded. Sadly the damage had already been done and Will looked a little upset by that. So she decided to try and break the ice a little.
"Want a cookie?" Will asked.
Meridian:
In Meridian the storm continues to rage, and within the throne room of the castle surrounded by purple stain-glass windows decorated with black roses and beasts, a top a throne surrounded by thorns was a young man wearing dark red and black robes long white hair, a goatee, green eyes and a crown of black and to him was another young man with blonde hair and wore robes of green, red and brown with Prussian purple was reporting recent events, namely Calebs escape and raid on the castle.
"Prince Phobos the interlopers escaped into the main guard before they destroyed the armoury and its contents." Cedric reported. "It seems they attempted to steal some gunpowder from the armoury they're affiliated with the suspect they'll head for the mountains."
Prince Phobos did not look best pleased. "The more success the rebels have, the more it emboldens the peasants to rise up." He soon realised as he addressed his loyal servant "Cedric this is too important to leave to guards."
"Yes my Prince." He hissed, when suddenly his eyes turned to slits of a snake and a snakes tongue emerged from his mouth and after a brief flash of green light he had transformed into his true snake man form.
"I'll handle it mysssself." He hissed as he looked forward to the hunt to come. "And I'll dessstroy anyone who gets in my way!"
Earth: The Silver Dragon:
On Earth Yan Lin had brought Adam and his companions to the Silver Dragon. Which now explained what the Sorceress meant by seek where the Silver Dragon lies. Orko however was still hiding under the large table where Adam was currently sitting and Cringer was enjoying a nice bowl of warm milk.
"Orko come on theres no need to hide." Adam tried.
"Uh..y…your sure theres no dragons here?" Orko asked.
"Yes, like I've been telling you since you came in, theres no dragons its just the name of the restaurant." Yan Lin explained.
"Oh okay." the Tralan wizard said more relaxed coming out from his hiding place.
"So this is where I'm supposed to meet these guardians the Sorceress told me about?" Adam asked.
"Yes in fact they should be here soon they're just coming home from school." Yan Lin explained.
"School?" Adam wondered what were these guardians children or something?
"Yes in fact they're a little younger than you, one of them being my grand daughter Hay Lin." Yan Lin explained.
Adam was rather surprised by this notion, but then again when he turned sixteen he was given a great burden. So who was he to judge. Yan Lin then realised something.
"In fact it's best your companions hide for now until I can explain things."She suggested.
"Aww but I was enjoying a drink." Cringer moaned.
"Sorry Cringer but if what we saw from that guy earlier was of any proof, it's clear people don't see sorcerers or giant green cats around." Adam said stroking his head.
"Okay we'll stay out of sight." Orko said and with a click of his fingers he and the green tiger suddenly disappeared.
Yan Lin was impressed. "Your friend is quite a gifted sorcerer."
"Yeah he is but sometime his magic doesn't often work." Just when Adam said that they heard a loud crash from the back and some groaning. Its clear Orko's spell did teleport them somewhere in the store room.
"Ow!" Cringer exclaimed.
"Sorry Cringer." Orko apologised.
Just then they heard the sound of the door opening and soon the five girls entered the room. They were speaking to each other before they noticed the blonde hair boy at the table.
"Ooo who's that he looks cute." Cornelia whispered.
"He looks older but look at those guns he's been packing the protein bars." Irma whispered in agreement.
"Oh uh Grandma this is a surprise who's this?" Hay Lin asked.
"Ah yes, girls this is Adam."Yan Lin introduced.
"Uh hi pleased to meet you." Adam waved shyly at the girls.
"He's new in town and I invited him over, please everyone take a seat and I'll get some refreshments."Yan Lin insisted with that the girls sat at the table. Hay Lin sat to the left of Adam, while Cornelia sat on the right. Irma sat next to Hay Lin and Taranee sat opposite her on a spare chair. Will sat at the end of the table.
Soon it quickly got awkward for them, the room was completely silent while Adam just twiddled his thumbs. He wasn't sure why he was so nervous, he'd been to dinners before. However most of them involved royal edict, for once he didn't know what to do.
"Hey keep all that noise down!" Irma exclaimed startling everyone trying to break the awkwardness of the situation.
"But no one said anything?" Adam said.
"I was being ironic." Irma explained.
After a couple of awkward minutes Adam decided to be the next ice breaker. "So uh…I never got your names?" He asked the girls.
"Oh well. I'm Hay Lin." Hay Lin introduced.
"Names Irma, don't wear it out." Irma then said.
"I'm Taranee." Taranne said a little bashfully.
"I'm Cornelia, nice to meet you, so you work out much?" Cornelia asked in a flirty sort of way.
"Uh well I train a little does that count?" Adam asked blushing a little.
"Hey word to the wise, don't encourage Corny your life will be much easier." Irma then cracked much to Cornelia's glare.
"Oh uh and I'm Will, I just moved here to town, you new here too?" Will then said introducing herself.
"Yeah, ah I guess you could say I'm from somewhere very far away and I'm not quite used to this place heh heh." Adam chuckled nervously.
Just then Irma noticed something sheathed in the back of the Eternian princes jacket. "Hey why do you carry a sword on your back?"
Adam could see they were talking about his Sword of Power, so he tried to make up an excuse. "Oh this it's just an uh a prop yeah for a play."
"Ooo you do theatre?" Hay Lin asked.
"Uh personally no but a friend of mine does you could say he's a man of many faces." Adam joked.
Taranee decided to change the subject to Will. "So Will, where'd you go to school before Sheffield?" She asked.
Before Will could answer that however. "Hello? Who cares? Have you noticed a bunch of strange stuff going on around me lately?" Cornelia interrupted.
"Wow, self centred much?" Adam noticed.
"Oh yeah the minute the conversation shifts from Cornelia's life story thats when we remind ourselves whats really important." Irma said in a joking sarcastic manner earning a laugh from everyone.
"So where are you from Will? I mean originally?" Adam asked.
"Oh I used to live in Faddan Hills but then my Mom and Dad got divorced and we moved here, I haven't really had many friends before." Will explained.
"Oh I'm sorry to hear that." Adam said sympathetically, and the girls couldn't help but feel sorry for Will as well.
Just then Yan Lin entered the room with a small wooden chest. She looked to the six teens at the table. "Enjoying your food?" She asked.
Everyone nodded in response and thanked their host for their meals. "But the important thing is how is Cornelia enjoying her food?" Irma then teased.
Will then picked up a fortune cookie and cracked it open to see the fortune on a small piece of paper. "You will make a new best friend." Will read. Adam took an interest in these cookies and broke one open himself.
"You will heed a higher calling when the time is right." Adam read he wondered what that meant. "Wow this place is weird fortune telling on paper?"
"Well thats how fortune cookies work." Irma said then winked at both him and Will. Just then Hay Lin noticed a certain box on the table.
"So..whats in the box grandma?" She asked.
Yan Lin knew it was time for them to know the significance of what was in the box. "Excuse me." She hiccuped. "Let me tell you girls a story that I believe will have a special meaning for all of you."
"Grandma, they really don't want to hear a story." Hay Lin said a little nervous thinking it would be an embarrassing one.
"Shh" Yan Lin hushed and then suddenly with a simple tap of her finger a golden light then illuminated a map of what looked like the infinite dimensions. The girls were all but completely shocked and surprised as their eyes widened in amazement. From their hiding place Cringer and Orko looked completely shocked. For Adam this wasn't any different from seeing the Sorceress's magic. Yan Lin began her tale.
"The universe was once a single kingdom ruled by good. But evil began to take root. A veil was created to isolate the evil kingdom of Meridian from all other worlds." The projection then showed what looked like an eclipse but it was really the Veil being cast over Meridian. "Without the protection of this veil, every world, including Earth, is in terrible danger." The projection showed black thorns growing out of the veil with dark purple flowers, almost like the final battle in Sleeping Beauty.
Cringer started trembling in fear at seeing this from his hiding spot. "Ooo I don't like this!" He shuddered.
"Shhh Cringer I don't want to miss this!" Orko whispered as he was actually intrigued by this tale of old.
However the girls looked rather afraid from seeing this, as Yan Lin continued her tale. "Meridian has been overtaken by a powerful entity named Phobos. " A projection of Phobos appeared, and though he hadn't met him before Adam could already see this was a bad guy, he kind of reminded him of Skeletor in someway as he glared at him. "But he is not the legitimate believe the true heir to the throne is somewhere here on Earth." Yan Lin explained.
"Um I'd like to wake up now." Irma said.
"But portals have begun to open in the Veil. Doorways, through which evil can cross between worlds." Yan Lin continued to explain showing a projection of what looked to be a blue coloured portal with energy surging from it. "There are people called Guardians whose job it is to close these holes using their powers."
Yan Lin snapped her fingers ending the projection. Adam could now see this was the great evil the Sorceress had warned him about. "So these Guardians are like the defenders of the Veil to stop evil from crossing into other worlds?" He asked.
"Indeed." Yan Lin explained. "I became a Guardian when I was your age. But now the duty is passing to your generation."
"I'm guessing its you guys." Adam guessed gesturing to the girls. "Okay but where do I fit into this?"
"Uh hold on you? What makes you so special?" Cornelia asked.
"Because, girls our new friend here is not really from here or rather this world." Yan Lin explained. This had gotten the girls confused, as they all eyed the blonde haired boy in the room. Adam knew it was time to come clean so he took a deep breath before he spoke.
"Yeah you see I'm actually from another world, called Eternia and there I'm well I'm a prince." He said rubbing the back of his head.
There was a moment of silence in the room before Cornelia abruptly stood up. "Well, thanks for the snacks." She said wanting to leave.
"Ah ah ah ah!" Yan Lin protested waving her finger, which poised the blonde girl to sit back in her seat and listen.
"So you come from a world called Eternia?" Irma asked.
"Yeah its actually a cool place its vibrant with magic and wonders." Said a voice but it wasn't Adams Irma and Hay Lin turned to see Orko sitting between them much to Adam's surprise.
"Oh hi." He waved. The girls screamed in shock spooking Orko who flew out of his chair and floated next to Taranee who was a little spooked but amazed at how this creature was floating.
"What whats that!" Will said spooked.
"How is he floating!" Irma exclaimed.
"Hey hey its okay he's with me!" Adam assured standing up from his seat. "He's actually a wizard."
"Aww he's actually kind of a cute little guy." Hay Lin gushed at how small and cute Orko looked.
"Aww shucks." Orko twitched his ears blushing. "But to introduce myself I'm Orko the Royal magician in residence to the kingdom of Eternos at your complete and total service." He bowed then in his hand poofed a small daisy. He offered it to Cornelia.
She took a sniff of it and suddenly water squirted out of it, taking her by surprise. "Hey!"
Irma just burst out laughing as did the other girls at Cornelia's misfortune. "Oops sorry wrong flower." Orko apologised as he used his magic to poof a cloth to offer to the blonde who took it while glaring.
"He's also a part time court jester." Adam then chuckled a little.
"Heh heh I like this guy already." Irma chuckled.
Yan Lin then noticed there was one member of the prince's party that was missing. "Uh where's your other friend?" She asked.
Adam knew who they were missing he looked and saw a shaking furry green tail from behind the store room door. "Come on theres no need to be shy." He said causing the girls to look to the store room door.
"I…I..don't know Adam." A shaking voice called from the store room.
"Its okay Cringer, just come on out." Adam assured. The girls were all but curious at this point.
Just then emerging from the store room much to the girls shock and surprise was a large green tiger with orange stripes and yellow eyes. He was slow to walk up to them and did tremble a little bit.
"Whoa!" Irma gasped in surprise.
"What the!" Cornelia exclaimed.
"Is..is that a tiger!" Taranee gasped in shock.
"Since when are tigers orange and green!" Will said in shock their reaction caused Cringer to cover his face with his paws in fear.
Hay Lin got up and looked at the terrified creature. "Oooh he's shy."
"Yeah he's always been like that." Adam explained, "hence why we call him Cringer he's afraid of his own shadow."
Hay Lin kneeled down to Cringers height and held her hand out. "Come on boy its okay." she cooed.
Cringer was a little hesitant, but could see the girl wanted to pet him, so he slowly approached her. Will looked a little worried for Hay Lin as did everyone else. Cringer got close to her hand and sniffed it, then to everyone's amazement he placed his head in her hand, and she slowly stroked his head as he purred.
"Aw see your not so bad are you?" Hay Lin petted him. She then picked up one of the cookies and offered it to him. "You hungry?"
Cringer sniffed the cookie then ate it out of Hay Lins hand. "Mmm thank you." He thanked.
"Wow he can talk?!" Hay Lin said surprised.
"Well yeah doesn't everybody?" Adam shrugged.
"So you really are from another world?!" Cornelia said in surprise.
"Oh yeah, allow us to explain." Orko said as he started searching his left sleeve for something pulling things out like a small yellow pyramid, a goldfish in a bowl and a small plant pot which landed in front of Cornelia.
Soon Orko pulled out a small book. "Ah here it is." He said and opened the book, then wiggled his fingers and the pages turned fast and created a projection much like what Yan Lin showed them earlier, however now it showed the land of Eternia.
"Whoa!" Everyone gasped.
"I'm from a planet called Eternia, it lies at the centre of the universe it's a land of peace and magic." Adam explained. "The kingdom is lead by my father King Randor and my mother Queen Marlena." The projection showed his parents on the throne of the castle, before changing to a great battle at the Hall of Wisdom. "Years ago during a time known as The Great Unrest my father served alongside great warriors to protect the Hall of Wisdom sanctuary of Eternia's elders from the evil forces lead by Keldor, during the final battle the Elders became beings of pure energy which was sent to the furthest corner of the planet, to an ancient fortress called Castle Grayskull."
The projection then showed the very fortress itself and the sight of its skull face was more than enough to creep the girls out. "Whoa thats a creepy place." Hay Lin said a little spooked.
"Yeah, the Sorceress the guardian of Grayskull foretold that a hero would one day emerge to protect Eternia should evil returned, and returned it did, in the form of Skeletor!" The projection showed the evil lord himself above his fortress in Snake Mountain and to the girls this instantly screamed bad guy.
"Yikes!" Taranee said quite afraid.
"Whoa talk about creepy face lifts." Irma said shocked.
"He looks like something out of a horror movie!" Will said in shock.
"He's the lord and master of his evil forces in Snake Mountain, and seeks the power of Grayskull for himself." Adam continued to explain as all eyes then turned back to Castle Grayskull. "Which is where I come in, when I turned sixteen the Sorceress appointed me as the defender of the secrets of Castle Grayskull, for those who control Grayskull control the power, the power to be…Masters of the Universe."
"Wait you fight this guy to protect a power in a castle?" Irma exclaimed.
"Oh yeah well with help from the Masters." Adam explained as the book displayed each of the Masters of the Universe. Man at Arms, Stratos, RamMan, Buzz Off, Roboto, Mekaneck, Man E Faces, Sy-Klone, Teela and Mossman. The girls were amazed at the sight of these warriors.
The book then closed ending the projection and Orko placed it back in his robes. "So yeah thats my story, and the Sorceress sent me here to fight some evil which I'm guessing is this Phobos guy right?" Adam asked Yan Lin to which she nodded.
"Hold up how can we beat some crazy evil prince?" Will asked about to nearly lose it.
Yan Lin then opened the box to reveal a small pink crystal on a string showing it to the girls as it glowed brightly. "This is the Heart Of Kandrakar, which contains the elementary forces of nature." She explained showing the crystal. "In the last few days, you have all had unusual experiences, am I right?"
"Not counting this one?" Irma asked.
"Wow I've never seen a crystal that beautiful before." Orko looked with interest only for Yan Lin to keep it away from the Tralan wizard, before turning her attention back to the girls.
"All five of you are starting to notice extraordinary abilities." Yan Lin explained before gesturing to Irma. "Irma, you will have noticed any water near you behaving strangely."
Curious Irma pulled her straw out of her drink and out of nowhere the water swirled up out of the cup and floated into the air. Everyone else gasped in amazement.
"Whoa!" Irma said in shock as the water splashed back into the cup. "O…kay…alrighty."
The attention was then brought upon Taranee. "Taranee, I believe you've always been afraid of fire. But focus now on the candle."
So thats what she did, she pointed her finger at the candle, then all of a sudden a small blast of fire shot out and hit the end of a banana instead of the candle. Cringer yelped in shock as he hid under the table much to the surprise of Taranee.
"I got it!" Orko called as he used his magic to conjure up a pitcher of water and poured it onto the banana.
"But not a bad trick, can you do this one." Orko said flicking his thumb and a small flame popped up on the end of it. Taranee tried it and though a small flame appeared it did fall off her finger and onto a certain green tigers tail, much to his horror.
"YAOOOOOO!" He ran around and around in circles with his tail on fire. Irma acted quickly and summoned the water from her cup and poured it onto Cringers tail putting it out.
"Whew" Cringer said in relief as he lay down on the ground relieved.
Yan Lin then pulled out a small folded Chinese lantern, before turning to her granddaughter. "My little Hay Lin, this morning you noticed your power over air."
Hay Lin took a deep breath then blew from her mouth a small gust of air which inflated the lantern. "Wow nifty!" Orko said amazed.
"Whoa." Adam said amazed himself, then it was Cornelia's turn.
"To you, Cornelia, is given the power over earth." Yan Lin explained.
So Cornelia held her hand over the plant pot Orko had pulled out earlier, then almost as if by magic the plant started to grow and soon after bloom. "Yeah!" Cornelia said amazed, however suddenly it exploded into roots shattering the pot.
"Yeah, that once happened to me too." Orko pointed out.
"Yeah except it didn't involve seeds given to you by Evil Seed Orko." Adam reminded the wizard of the time when he was tricked by Evil Seed to plant his seeds in the castle garden, which led to some overgrowth problems.
"All five of you will get better with your powers. I hope." Yan Lin then said admittedly.
"Cool, uh wait five?" Adam asked as everyone looked at Will with interest.
"So what do you do, lighting maybe some illusions?" Orko asked.
"Uh Um, hate to disappoint you, but I can't even do that trick where it looks like your thumb comes apart." Will tried to perform the trick to show her point. "But if I ever have a party, you are definitely the entertainment."
Yan Lin placed her hand on Will's shoulder. "One of the five binds the others, and with the Heart Of Kandrakar unites them, summoning and magnifying their powers."
She let the crystal float and fly around the room, passing each of the girls one by one, then Orko, Cringer and Adam. However while the crystal was twirling in the air what they didn't notice was the sword on Adams back briefly glowed reacting to the hearts presence. Eventually the heart landed into the hands of Will, it would seem it had chosen the one who would wield its power and lead the guardians.
"Um, recap? We've got to protect the world from evil by repairing holes in some kind of veil?" Taranee asked standing up.
"And most possibly fighting an evil force from another dimension." Orko pointed out. "Yep sound like it."
"This doesn't involve sewing, does it?" Cornelia groaned.
"Oh no I've seen this kinda thing back in my home of Trala, holes in the veil have to be sealed with magic energy." Orko pointed out remembering his lessons back in his homeland.
"This is so cool. When can we start?" Irma said almost excited.
"You already have." Yan Lin simply said to them.
"But how do they help?" Cornelia asked gesturing to Adam, Orko and Cringer. "I mean a prince with a sword, a tiny wizard and a scaredy cat don't seem like much help."
"Hey we are in the room you know." Adam said glaring.
"Yeah and back where I'm from they called me Orko the Great!" Orko said offended.
"Ah, but Adam and his companions have experience with battling magical threats before." Yan Lin explained. "That is why the Sorceress of Grayskull sent them to Earth, their knowledge can be of aid to the five of you."
"Yeah he has experience fighting Skeletor and magic beasts as He…" Adam covered Orko's mouth at that bit.
"Uh yeah I've fought guys like this Phobos before." Adam covered up.
"So why are you telling us all this now Grandma?" Hay Lin asked her grandmother.
"There is a rebellion taking place in Meridian, but its leader is in grave danger." Yan Lin explained to them. "I am rather hesitant to place this upon you all but there are dark and difficult times coming many innocent lives will need your help."
Adam realised how high the stakes were now. "This must've been what the Sorceress saw in her vision." He realised. "But, she also said this great evil may give rise to a more dangerous foe, do you have any idea what it could be?"
"Sadly I do not, but I trust the Sorceress's judgement to send you and your friends here Adam, for they will need you in the battles to come." Yan Lin said before turning to the girls. "Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, Hay Lin, you have been chosen as the new Guardians of the Veil."
Will touched the heart, but as she did she felt a surge of energy.
In Meridian Phobos had cast sands to the ground revealing a mirror showing him Will herself as he too felt a rather familiar power as well.
Eternia: Snake Mountain:
However, he was not the only evil to sense this great power. For within the Dark Hemisphere lay the hellish volcanic landscape which soon lead to the vile fortress known as Snake Mountain which was aptly named for it was in the shape of a snake with lava pouring from its mouth, what used to be the fortress of King Hiss and the Snakemen is now the sanctuary of the demon Skeletor and his acolytes of evil.
Within her lair, a sorceress in purple with a bone corset and a spiked black and purple helmet gazed into her magical staff which crowned a purple orb. Evil Lyn suddenly sensed a surge of power from even across the vastness of the universe itself she looked to see a young red haired girl with a certain crystal.
"Hm…Interesting, very interesting." Evil Lyn looked with intrigue.
Earth: The Silver Dragon:
Will was snapped to her senses in shock as she put the heart down on the table. "Ah! No sorry. It's too weird. I can't." She said walking away.
Everyone was rather surprised by this, Yan Lin did look with worry though most of the new guardians were on board it was clear Will saw something, and was a little scared by could see this too, it was a look of doubt on he himself had. He went and stopped Will from leaving.
"Hey hey hold up. It's okay." He tried.
"How is this okay! Magic, monsters, evil princes and magic castles th.. this is insane!" Will said rather spooked. "But why would that heart thing choose me of all people I'm no body just a new girl from school who likes swimming and the things every normal girl likes to do."
"Hey I understand what your going through really I do." Adam tried to calm her down.
"But how can you understand your a prince?" Will said.
"Yeah, and why would a great and powerful sorceress entrust me with guarding Castle Grayskull, I mean look at me I'm just a kid like you what do I know about being a hero." Adam voiced and everyone else listened as he spoke. "My father was raising me to be king someday and sometimes I can't even do that, and well I've never admitted this before now but I got scared too."
Will looked rather surprised to hear him say that, as did Orko and Cringer never once did Adam ever admit he was afraid. "But when my father was in danger, I realised that the only way I could help was to embrace what fate had given me so I accepted the burden." Adam continued. "Look I know its not easy for any of you but, fate chose you for a reason, and I may not know much but if the Sorceress thinks I can help then I'll try. Someone, a friend once told me that as long as evil exists a champion will always be needed, but the choice is yours to make."
Will and the other guardians looked in complete bewilderment, she looked to the heart that floated towards her, but after hearing this princes words she didn't feel so afraid. So she took the heart in her hand.
"Okay, we'll try." Will said which did put a smile on Adams face he was amazed if only Teela had heard him say that.
"Well maybe the first thing to do is test our powers, and I know just the place." Irma then suggested.
Meridian:
Caleb and his friend Aldarn had managed to escape the pursuing guards by means of the Hoggan's the hope birds of Meridian. However their 'noble' steeds were now all tired out from running such a long distance.
"Hey, we can walk faster than this." Caleb said to the Hoggan he was riding as it and the one Aldarn rode collapsed to the ground to rest. "Thanks for the ride. How much do I owe you?"
Caleb and Aldarn looked to the distance on the horizon was nothing but a large empty barren field. Some lights shone in the distance.
"Um, the Infinite City is still an hour's walk, Caleb." Aldarn pointed out seeing they were very far from their intended destination.
"For you. I'm not going." Caleb said which took his friend quite aback.
"What?" Aldarn said surprised.
"I heard something from my informant" Caleb explained. "Phobos has discovered the rightful heir to the throne is alive on Earth."
"Earth? On the other side of the veil, is that possible?" Aldarn wondered.
"I must know for sure." Caleb said. "I need to find a portal. If we don't locate the heir before Phobos does, Meridian and Earth are both doomed." He said as he placed his hands on his friends shoulders who did the same. "Tell the men to stay strong and the women not to worry. I hope to see you soon, Aldarn."
The two bid farewell by running in opposite directions. Caleb made his way to the jagged hills far from the kingdom in the hopes of finding a portal. However once he reached the top of the cliffside what he found instead wasn't a portal but rather the large serpent Cedric.
"How can something so small be so troublesome?" Cedric hissed.
Caleb was in shock he didn't have enough time to react as the snake man slammed his tail into him sending him rolling down the cliffside. Cedric gave chase in pursuit of his quarry.
Earth: Hetherfield:
Meanwhile back on Earth after convincing Will to try and accept the hearts burden, Irma lead her, Taranee, Cornelia, Hay Lin, Adam, Orko and Cringer to Hetherfield's main bridge. It was rather quiet so it wouldn't call too much attention for what they were about to do.
"Oh, yes. A perfect place to practise our powers." Irma said rather excited.
"Wow thats quite a view." Adam said looking at the view of the city from where they were now. He had to admit he was getting to like this world.
"So Adam, whats it like where your from?" Hay Lin asked with interest.
"Well its certainly different than Earth thats for sure, no guys in suits judging on giant green cats or wizards." Adam explained. "Its a beautiful land, but sometimes the duties of a royal do keep me from enjoying life sometime."
"Hey join the club try going to school sometime." Irma said.
"Well I was tutored in the castle so I wouldn't know what school is." Adam said and the girls got a little jealous that he was living a royal life despite the forces he had to face.
"And pray you never do my friend." Irma said. "You know I'm actually beginning to like you.
"You know I still don't believe any of this stuff. Guardians, sorceresses, magic castles" Cornelia said still in doubt. "No offence to your grandma or anything, but she's like completely deluded. Probably not enough vitamin D."
"What about the flower that grew when you just looked at it?" Taranee reminded her. "And the water in Irma's glass? And the picture Mrs Lin drew in the air? Or what about Orko, and how he made a book appear or that flower?"
"Magic tricks. Ten bucks on the internet." Cornelia dismissed.
"Nope these aren't second rate tricks you know they're great mystical powers of the ages!" Orko then said.
"This from a court jester?" Cornelia cracked.
"Hey thats the Royal Jester to you and I am a powerful wizard!" Orko said a little annoyed. "Watch this." Orko then twiddled his fingers as magic charged in his hands then out of nowhere a magic bubble appeared around Cornelia.
"Wha hey!" She cried, then by a snap of Orko's fingers the bubble popped and she fell on her butt.
"Hah hah I like this guy!" Irma joked.
"Ha ha it is to laugh." Cornelia grumbled.
"Okay okay let's get this show on the road." Will finally said as she pulled out the heart from her coat and placed it round her neck. "Okay uh… how does this work?" She asked.
Orko then hovered over. "Well most magical artefacts require a certain incantation to activate them."
"Right you just need to feel the power and concentrate then when you feel it just let it out." Adam said given his own experience calling down the power of Grayskull.
With that Will focused on the crystal then suddenly it surged into life hovering in the air. Everyone looked in surprise and amazement as suddenly Will was lifted in the air as the hearts energy soured out. The girls gasped as Cringer hid behind Taranee.
"Oh no I know whats coming next!" He cringed.
"GUARDIANS UNITE!" Will proclaimed.
The heart glowed at its brightest as magical pink energy waves surrounded the five of them, each of them were being surrounded in spheres of their respective elements, a white sphere of air for Hay Lin, a sphere of red fire encompassed Taranee in a sphere, a stream of water encompasses Irma in a sphere of blue water, while a strand of green energy with leaves flying encompasses Cornelia into a sphere of natures power. Will was surrounded by a sphere of pink energy created by the heart. The five coloured spheres changed into their respective elemental symbols. Adam, Orko and Cringer were blinded by the bright light cause by this.
When the light faded, Adam gasped in surprise as did Cringer. For now they were no longer teenage girls but young women, almost like how Adam changes when he's He-Man. Each of the girls no wore similar yet very different outfits to each other.
Wills had a pink loose sleeved shirt exposing her midriff, a green skirt with blue and green stripped tights and long dark purple boots. Irma now had a teal green long sleeved shirt with an exposed midriff, a short purple skirt, blue and green striped tights and small purple boots. Taranee had a pink sleeveless shirt, exposing her midriff followed with pink wristbands, dark green shorts with blue and green stripped tights and dark and purple tennis shoes, her hair was now in a different style with six strands hanging off her head. Cornelia had a teal green long sleeved shirt exposing her midriff also with a long pink dress leading down to her heels with a split in the side, she also had green and blue tights with long purple boots. Hay Lin also had a teal green sleeveless shirt with an exposed midriff, with a purple dress and green and blue stripped tights with small purple shoes. Their most distinct features were the pair of green and black fairy wings on their backs. They also had pink lipstick on their lips.
"By the ancients!" Adam said in surprised. "Now thats what I call a transformation!"
"Wow, they're pretty." Orko said in awe as he eyed Cornelia specifically.
"Whoa! They're… they're fairies " Cringer said with his jaw dropped.
It was then the girls looked at their new forms. They were in complete shock and awe. "Holy cow!" Will breathed in shock.
"You know, somehow I cannot imagine your grandma wearing that." Irma said to Hay Lin, however at that moment she was more interested in what was on her back.
"What have we got behind us?!" She said in shock.
"What have we got in front of us?" Cornelia said looking at her chest and how its grown she took a pose with a rather shallow laugh.
"They're wings!" Orko gasped. "If you have wings that must mean you can fly!"
"Oh my gosh this is awesome!" Hay Lin exclaimed as Will tried to look at her own wings.
"No way they can't be wings?" Will said in disbelief. "If they were wings when we went like this we'd…" Will fluttered her wings and with a scream she suddenly took off into the sky. Hay Lin just shot up and seemed to get the hang of it almost immediately.
"Whoa, the Sorceress forgot to mention that guardians could fly?! Stratos and Buzzoff would never believe this!" Adam said still very amazed.
Taranee on the other hand didn't look too thrilled by this development. "Oh man, I hate heights. I get woozy in high-heeled shoes."
"Welcome to my world." Cringer said to her.
Hay Lin and Will meanwhile were enjoying themselves. Will was trying to stabilise herself spinning round in circles. While Hay Lin all but enjoyed herself laughing as she flew around in the sky. She soared across the water and through the bridge.
"WAHOOOOO!" Hay Lin was completely amazed so he decided to follow Hay Lin, he flew upwards and managed to keep up with her. "Hey slow down!" Orko called.
"Isn't this fun Orko!" Hay Lin called.
"Yeah it is!" He cheered and they flew side by side.
Adam smiled seeing his friend enjoy himself. Cringer however was thinking about something. "Hey Adam." He whispered.
"Yeah Cring?" Adam asked Cringer.
"So why haven't you turned into He-Man yet, not that I'd want to be Battle Cat but didn't the Sorceress say it was okay for you to tell them your secret?" Cringer then asked.
"I know Cringer but, you saw when they saw that projection, they're not used to magic like us." Adam voiced his concerns to his companion. "I don't want to freak them out any further, I'll tell them just not yet besides they're enjoying themselves."
He was right Hay Lin and Orko were racing in the sky while Will was still getting used to flying around. Irma meanwhile was flexing her wings.
"This totally rocks!" She exclaimed. "Hey Taranee you do something!"
So Taranee pointed her finger and fired a rather large blast of fire because her powers were now enhanced by the heart it sent her on her back. The fire ball flew around, Cornelia and Cringer ducked out of the way as it hit the ground.
"See? That's exactly why I don't like fire!" Taranee exclaimed.
"Irma, you're water. Put it out!" Cornelia called to Irma who blasted some water towards them but it sent her flying into some garbage while the water flew around then splashed all over Cornelia and Cringer who yelped in shock.
"And this is exactly why I don't like water!" Cringer cried as he shook it off all over the Earth Guardian.
"Gah! Cringer cut it out!" Cornelia exclaimed.
Adam meanwhile helped Irma out of the trash pile she crashed into. "You okay?" He asked.
"Yeah I'm good I'm good." Irma thanked as she took his hand.
Orko then hovered down next to them. "Wow, and you and Teela though I was bad at magic!"
The only one yet to use her powers was Cornelia, who it seems faced a deliema. "Oh, poo. There's no soil or plants here, I can't do my thing."
"Uh you do know that earth doesn't apply to soil and plants?" Orko said. "Just focus on the ground beneath you."
"So what I just say like rise towards me or whatever?" Cornelia said pointing her finger to the ground, when all of a sudden there was a rumble in the ground and shooting out of the ground was a cactus and some flowers.
"Uh something like that." Orko cringed at that.
For Cornelia things got a lot worse, for then a small earth worm popped out of the ground next to her hand. She screamed in disgust and ran away, only for Will to tumble from the sky and crash on top of her.
"Oh brother." Adam breathed as he shook his head.
The hours went by and soon night had began to fall over the city. "Okay guys maybe we ought to call it a night." Adam suggested.
"I'll say I'm pooped!" Cringer agreed.
"Your right, I think we've destroyed enough of Heatherfield for today." Will agreed as the heart appears out of her and she summons the power back reverting the Guardians to their human forms.
However there was still one left unaccounted for. "Where'd Hay Lin go?" Irma asked.
Just then Orko and Cringer heard a scream coming from above. It was Hay Lin. Orko quickly used his magic to conjure a net below her. She bounced off it and landed on Cringers back.
"Omf! Found her!" Cringer called.
"Whew nice catch guys." Hay Lin thanks Orko and Cringer.
"Your welcome Hay Lin." Orko said helping her off Cringer.
Meridian:
Caleb ran slipping down the steep slopes as he did, with a very angry Cedric close behind him. The Rebel Leader ran as fast as he could, then just ahead was his salvation. It was a portal, he ran faster and faster and was nearly there, but his legs weren't fast enough for the slithering Cedric as he followed him through the open portal.
Earth:
As night fell in on Heatherfield the girls, Adam and Orko picked up their belongings and began to leave for home. Cringer was just walking away when suddenly he heard a sound. He turned around and his eyes shrunk in shock.
"Uhhh A…Adam!" Cringer trembled.
"Come on Cringer you can find some fish later." Adam called as he and the girls were oblivious to what was behind them.
Cringer was trembling with fright. "I…I..I really th..think you should see this!"
"See what?" Cornelia wondered, when they turned around everyone gasped in shock dropping their backpacks as they saw the portal before them.
"Whats that!" Taranee exclaimed.
"Its a portal!" Orko exclaimed.
"Don't touch it!" Adam exclaimed to them just then he saw something in the portal like something was there. "Somethings coming through get behind me!" He drew his sword and the girls got behind Adam as did Orko who readied his magic.
Suddenly emerging from the portal was Caleb who crashed into the trash pile near Cringer, who yelped and ran away in a Scooby Doo fashion. The girls screamed in fright.
"Look!" Irma cried and they saw what looked like a snake man in the portal and began to emerge.
"Will the necklace change us back!" Taranee shook her but she was frozen in fright as Cedric emerged from the portal and was twice as big as they were, Cringer hid behind his paws in fear.
"Now NOW!" Taranee panicked. Cedrics attention then turned to Caleb in the trash pile. Adam knew he had to act now.
"Hey!" Cedric turned and saw Adam leap in and slash him across the arm with his sword which seemed to hurt him a lot roaring in pain. Adam then swung on his arm and kicked him in the face, then landed to the ground.
"Whew good thing Teela taught me that move!" Adam said to himself, however his victory was short lived as a seriously pissed of Cedric swatted Adam away into the opposite walls crashing into the wooden fence.
"Adam!" The girls cried. Cringer and Orko quickly ran over to their downed friend. Cedric meanwhile reached for Caleb.
"Hurry Hurry!" Taranne shook Will who was still frozen in fright.
In the rubble of the fence Adam groaned as he got back up. "Gah thats gonna hurt in the morning."
"Adam!" Cringer cried as he leaped over to him.
"Its okay Cringer I'm okay." Adam said holding his side.
"Adam! Wills in shock the girls haven't transformed what do we do?!" Orko exclaimed.
The prince looked with a serious expression this was the time to act. "We need to buy them some time. Orko go and use your magic to try and help them!"
"Right uh I'll uh I'll encase them in a protective bubble!" Orko said as he poofed away to help the Guardians.
"No no bubbles!" Adam called but he was gone, he sighed as he got up and picked up his sword.
"Come on Adam h..how about we sit this one out till the bad guys go away." Cringer trembled knowing what was coming next.
"Sorry Cringer, duty calls but if that snake man is with this Phobos I can't let him know my secret." Adam realised. "We'll have to make this quick." With that decided he held aloft his Sword of Power with two hands and said the magic words.
"BY THE POWER OF GRAYSKULL!"
The sword hilt suddenly unlocked and twisted, while in Eternia, Castle Grayskull lit up with energy and the power was sent soaring from the planet, across the infinite dimensions, through, and just as storm clouds gathered round the bridge a bolt of blue energy shot down from the sky and struck the sword blinding Cringer as it surrounded Adam with magic energy changing him.
Suddenly a large metal gauntlet with golden orbs appeared on his right hand holding the sword as his muscles and height grew. Appearing was another metal gauntlet with lines. On his waist appeared a metal belt with rounded circles on it and the symbol of Grayskull on the centre, with brown furs coming from it. A bolt of energy fitted a brown harness with the hexagonal symbol of Grayskull appearing soon after.
He opened his eyes and was now wearing brown furred boots with straps on them, he was now eight feet taller with broad muscles of steel. He still had his normal blonde hair but with tanned skin.
"I…HAVE…THE POWER!"
Adam was now fully transformed into He-Man the most powerful man in the universe!
Cringer quivered in fright knowing what was coming next. With one point of He-Man's sword energy flew from it and hit Cringer as he tripped in size and took on the appearance of a sabertooth tiger. Appearing over him was maroon red coloured armour on his head, claws and a harness on his back. He let out an earsplitting roar as he became Battle Cat.
Back with the guardians Cedric was about to snatch up the Rebel Leader until he was blasted by magic. He turned and saw it was Orko his hands lit with magic.
"Back off snake face!" Orko called and Cedric tried to swat him but Orko floated away to avoid him.
"Girls nows your chance!" He cried.
Will finally snapped out of it and invoked the power of the crystal. "GUARDIANS UNITE!" She cried and within moments they were transformed once was temporarily blinded when he was swatted away into the bridge supports by Cedric, and fell into the trash.
"Uh Fire!" Will exclaimed.
The girls looked confused. "Who me?" Taranee asked.
"EVERYBODY!" Will exclaimed but suddenly Cedric swatted them away with his free hand they were sent crashing to the ground. The giant snake man was hovering above Will and she looked more terrified than before.
"Will!" Irma yelled. The snake man was about to slam his fist to crush her, Will closed her eyes for the end, however it never came.
She opened her eyes and standing above her was what looked like a barbarian warrior with blonde hair. Cedric was taken completely by surprise as were Caleb and the other girls. He-Man used his mighty strength and pushed Cedric away into one of the pillars pulling him from the portal.
The warrior turned his attention to Will. "Who..who are you?" She stuttered as he offered her his hand.
"A friend." He-Man simply said as he helped her back on her feet, the red head was in complete awe, who was this stranger and where did he come from. She had to admit there was something familiar about him.
"Yeah a real good friend, he is He-Man champion of light and goodness." Orko explained rather excitedly. "And you'll never guess who..." He-Man nudged him to keep that last part quiet.
As the girls gathered round the stranger their attention was drawn back to Cedric. "We can't let him get the boy!" He-Man exclaimed readying his sword. "We must drive him back through the portal!"
Cedric roared as he emerged from the pillar, he looked to a still trapped Caleb. He tried once again to grab him only to be attacked by Battle Cat who leaped on him trying to hold him back. He even sunk his teeth into Cedrics shoulder causing him to seethed in anger. He swatted the beast away with his free hand. Only for Hay Lin to use a gust of wind to catch the beast mid air.
He-Man leaped onto the snake man and landed a punch which sent Cedric flying to the right. He looked in disbelief how was this mortal able to stand his ground against him. Cedric swung his tail towards the warrior only for He-Man to grab and hold him in place.
Cornelia attacked next and summoned some earth vines which struck the snake man in the chest slamming him to the ground. Cedric was becoming tired of this game and so he slammed his fists into the ground shaking it to pieces, the guardians flew into the air while He-Man leaped away to the side. He looked and saw Cedric grab Caleb and tried to escape through the portal.
He-Man acted quickly, running for the portal leaping up and grabbed the rebels hand trying to pull him out.
"Hold on my friend!" He-Man girls summoned their magic and tried to let out a massive blast towards Cedric but it was raging uncontrollably.
"CLOSE IT CLOSE THE PORTAL!" Caleb exclaimed.
"How!" Will exclaimed.
"The crystal use the crystal!" Orko cried.
Will pulled out the heart and directed its power to the portal and it was slowly closing it. He-Man pulled and pulled, he nearly had Caleb out but the uncontrollable energy struck him in the back forcing him to release his grip and fall to the ground. The portal soon sealed as Caleb's hand passed through it. The shockwave catapulted everyone away and sent He-Man a great distance away, Battle Cat quickly followed. By the time the girls came to, they saw the portal was gone and so was Cedric and Caleb.
"Oh my god!" Irma trembled in shock.
"You lost him. That thing got him!" Cornelia cried as Will hung her head in regret.
Taranee looked around but there was no sign of the warrior who tried to help him. "Hey where'd that guy and beast thing go?"
Before they could dwell on that they heard a groaning sound from the fence, then they remembered. "Adam!" Hay Lin cried as they went over.
Just then Adam emerged with Cringer supporting him, secretly they just reverted back from He-Man and Battle Cat. The girls and Orko came over in concern.
"Are you okay?" Will asked.
"Y..yeah I've taken worse hits than that." Adam brushed off but felt a slight pain in his side. He then looked at the girls saddened expressions. "Wait, what happened to that guy who came out of the portal."
"That snake thing got him!" Taranee said in horror, Adam was shocked, but he was already given he'd seen it happen.
The Silver Dragon:
Soon everyone was back at the Silver Dragon, Yan Lin had provided everyone with cups of tea and refreshments. She'd handed Adam some ice packs given the hit he took, sure it healed a bit when he transformed but it still hurt a bit. Orko floated in place juggling balls just to take his mind off things. While Cringer sat next to Irma who petted his head. They'd just told Yan Lin what happened.
"I see. What did he look like?" Yan Lin asked.
"I..I'm not sure, he looked almost as old as me, but he defiantly wasn't dressed like he was from Eternia." Adam said as he placed an ice pack on his side. His jacket was hanging on the chair behind him. "Gah! But that SnakeMan was huge I'd never seen one that big before."
"I..it all happened so fast, and I..I couldn't…" Yan Lin placed a comforting hand on Wills shoulder.
"Don't blame yourselves, this was not any of your doing." she said.
"I don't. I blame her. She totally blew it." Cornelia just openly said pointing to Will who looked rather hurt.
"Hey don't try and pin this on her at least she tried to do something!" Adam defended her.
"Oh like your one to talk warrior prince that thing took you down in like seconds I thought you'd done this before!" Cornelia exclaimed.
"I have he took me by surprise! I couldn't act in time to recover!" Adam argued back.
"Hey hey calm down guys we'll get through this together that always works back home." Orko said.
"Yeah except this isn't your world remember!" Cornelia said.
"Hey don't take it out on him Corny!" Irma exclaimed.
"Guys!" Taranee exclaimed getting their attention which did spill some of their drinks over.
While they talked Hay Lin was doing a small sketch of what they saw during their encounter. "It looked like this." She handed her Grandmother the very accurate drawing, and she recognised him all too well.
"Lord Cedric." Yan Lin breathed.
"Lord? Sounds like they got low standards of knighthood over there." Orko said.
"So I'm guessing this guy serves Phobos." Adam guessed.
"Indeed, Cedric is not always in this form." Yan Lin explained to them.
"Shapeshifters." Orko realised. "I've heard of them but I didn't think they were real!"
"He sure looked real enough." Cringer trembled.
Will meanwhile was thinking about something. "But what about that warrior, the one who tried to help us? Where did he come from?"
"Warrior?" Yan Lin asked with interest.
"Yeah, he looked like this." Hay Lin said handing her grandmother a sketch she had done of He-Man. Yan Lin hadn't seen this warrior before, but as she took one glance at Adam and his sword which leaned on the table, she could make out some similarities.
"I…do not recognise this warrior." Yan Lin merely said.
"I think he called himself He-Man." Hay Lin explained.
"Well he certainly was strong enough to go toe to toe with that snake thing, better than we did." Will said.
"Well thats some good news for him, too bad we didn't see him afterwards we could've asked him out."Irma said.
"Irma this is serious!" Hay Lin said sharply.
"I know you think I'm not scared." Irma admitted, she did receive a comforting stroke from Cringers head which she replied by stroking his head.
Adam groaned in pain as he got up and picked up his sword. Will and the others looked in concern. "Hey you okay?" Taranee asked.
"Y..yeah I just I gotta get some more ice." Adam brushed off as he went into the back of the restaurant trailing his sword behind him.
"He looks beaten up about all this." Hay Lin noticed.
"Yeah way to point it out Corny."Irma said harshly in Cornelia's direction.
"Oh get of my case Irmy!" Cornelia talked back.
In the back of the restaurant Adam slammed his fists on the side. He just couldn't get the face of that rebel out of his head, he tried to help him and he failed. The girls were already scared of this new burden that had been dropped like a bomb on them.
"Adam?" He looked and saw Orko and Cringer in the doorway who looked worried for him.
"I..I messed up guys, if I'd just transformed sooner or just told them none of this would've happened." Adam said in regret.
"Come on Adam this isn't your fault, you never let this get to you before." Orko said. "Besides it's not like you knew that portal would appear."
Adam however wasn't so sure, just then Yan Lin came in. "This warrior." Adam was startled as he turned round to face Yan Lin. "Its you isn't it." She realised.
To say the prince and his friends were taken aback was an understatement, she'd discerned Adams secret identity as He-Man from a single glance. So he nodded in response.
"The Sorceress said you were a champion, and now I see why." Yan Lin realised.
"Yeah well I wasn't much of a champion today was I." Adam said in regret. "How am I supposed to help the girls if I couldn't help that guy from that SnakeMan."
"Ah ah do not blame yourself, you and the girls only have each other, and now you have all begun an adventure." Yan Lin comforted him. "They will need your help in the trials to come, some will drive them apart others will help them grow in spirit, and you will be of great help to them, whether they know it or not. You will all need your talents and strengths just to survive whats to come."
The prince knew she was right, he never once let doubt stop him. Since the day he became He-Man, he knew he'd have to face many difficult choices and battles, and now these girls were in the same boat as he was so long ago.
"Some things never change do they." Adam realised.
To Be Continued
Authors Notes: Thats chapter 1 in the bag. Now to note a few things, in the 2002 series Cringer couldn't talk but after seeing the original series I thought it would be more fun to have Cringer talk made it more Nostalgic. The transformation from Adam to He-Man is a mix of the transformation sequence from the 2002 series and from Revelations, because to me that was the best part of the revival series. Also according to the Wiki the Sorceress's real name is Teela Na, though it was never brought up in the 2002 reboot, I thought it would be a good addition, and to also have Yan Lin know her from her past as a guardian, other elements will be shown in future chapters.
Now I know Adam is sworn to never share his secret with anyone outside of Cringer, Man At Arms, The Sorceress and Orko but for the purpose of this story I thought it would be good to have the guardians know Adam is He-Man which will be revealed next chapter.
Next chapter up soon Until next time.
