CHAPTER IV ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Yen Sid: I understand that the two of you have differences. Your circumstances put the both of you at odds with each other.
Yen Sid: Now I shall tell you both of the fate of your world as well as the entities that have caused this. Afterwards you can tell me about your world as it will make it just a little bit easier to set it right.
The two nod in understanding.
Yen Sid: Now then I suppose we first speak of the Heartless.
The elderly wizard said this as he opened a large book. He turned to a page with an image of a Heartless on it, the book glows slightly & the translucent image of the Heartless on the page is in full view. The Heartless was the weakest of them all … a Shadow.
To the pair's surprise the image popped up in a fent translucent model.
Yen Sid: The Heartless are creatures born from the darkness of people's hearts given form. They're two types, Pureblood Heartless like the Shadow you see before you and Emblem Heartless.
The retired wizard shows them a different Heartless, one with a mark that looks reminiscent of a heart with a scar on it.
Yen Sid: The Emblem Heartless, are Heartless that where people before their hearts were taken by the Heartless.
Oscar: Humans can become Heartless!?
Yen Sid: Indeed they can ether by falling to darkness or being struck down by the Heartless. Emblem Heartless also releases a Heart when defeated, unlike their Pureblooded counterpart and are more commonly encountered. They're are also some Emblem Heartless that are able to keep some level of their original appearance from before they fell, but they are extremely rare and are equally as powerful, as well as control weaker Heartless.
Oscar: I see, and given what they've done to the world in moments I see why they need to be eliminated immediately.
Yen Sid: There is more, the Nobodies.
Velvet: Surprising cold of you to call them that. Well I guess even the noble protectors of the cosmos would have people they can't stand.
Riku: That's Nobodies with a capital N.
Kairi: They're a different kind of being if you think about it.
Yen Sid turned the pages of the book with the two images of the Heartless vanish & in their place are two new figures. One is a frightening skinny gray humanoid being the other another humanoid figure wearing a long black coat with a hood completely concealing their face.
Yen Sid: These are Nobodies, a being rejected by both the light and dark they are devoid of any and every emotion for they do not have hearts of their own as such they do not exist.
Velvet: Because they don't have hearts or feelings they're concerned as non-existent?
Sora: Yeap, we've fought a few times and in the last Keyblade War almost all of our enemies were Nobodies.
Yen Sid: They are the body and soul that is left behind when someone becomes a Heartless. The one in the coat you see before you are the highest form of Nobody can take and can command Nobodies of lower ranks. They also walk with the memories of who they once were and act accordingly to those memories.
Oscar: They just pretend to be normal?
Sora: Ya but those ones are easier to deal with.
Velvet: Why would that be?
Riku: Because they can actually be reasoned with unlike our other enemies. A lot of them joined us to fight their old allies and are even able to gain new hearts different from the one they lost or just regain their old hearts.
Mickey: Why, we even have three Keyblade wielders that were Nobodies at one point.
Yen Sid: Now that you have a basic understanding of the opposition, are there any questions the both of you have?
The pair ponder for a little before one of them, that being Oscar speaks.
Oscar: Yes, I would like to know. How many worlds are there?
Kairi: As many as there are stars.
Velvet: Wonderful.
She said in a sarcastic tone.
Velvet: How many of you are there? Keyblade wielder's I mean.
Mickey: Unfortunately, very little. For about a decade we were in the single digits and now we have a little over ten.
The Exorcist & the Daemon eyes went wide when they heard that new information.
Oscar: Why are there so few!
Riku: You know that war we mentioned, the one before it wiped out almost all the wielder's from that time. The place where it happened is now called the Keyblade Graveyard.
Yen Sid: We are also unfortunately low on Master's.
Kairi: If we count Master Yen Sid, we only have four Masters right now. Also a lot of us don't feel ready to take the test yet.
Sora: I'm STILL taking mine right now actually.
Velvet: As in you've been taking it since the war ended.
Sora: Since a little BEFORE the war.
The usually cheerful boy now looks to the floor.
Oscar: It must be more difficult than I thought. Now that I think about it, how exactly do you fix our world?
Everyone now faces the retired Master. As even they are unsure of how to get the world back. Unlike Sora's first adventure they had a clear idea of what needed to be done but right now none of what went on before is happening now. At least they hope not.
Yen Sid: Yes, there is a way. It is done by going to The Realm of Darkness.
The pair share the look of confusion.
Velvet: What's that?
Yen Sid: It is the Realm of which the Heartless stem from as well as where the world's go when they fall. The realm we reside in is known as The Realm of Light
Velvet: If that's the case why are we just standing here we can go get it right now!?
Mickey: That's not how it works.
Riku: The Realm of Darkness is just as big as The Realm of Light. Without a general idea of where it could be we could spend years looking and come up empty handed.
Yen Sid: What Riku said is true, not only that but those without Keyblades will be swallowed by the darkness upon entering the realm.
Oscar: In other words neither one of us can enter safely.
Yen Sid: Correct.
Velvet: So what, you just leave us on whatever world you want and we just sit there on our asses.
Sora: Hey come on Velvet that's not what we're gonna do. Also what if you got friends on other worlds.
Velvet: All of my friends are dead… I ate them all when I first became a daemon.
The Daemon girl looks to the floor wearing an expression of melancholy that doesn't go unnoticed by the other. Even the Exorcist who thinks of her as nothing more than a monster looks to her with worry & shock in his eyes.
Kairi: You… ATE… your friends?
Velvet just continues to stare down at the floor. Her
Yen Sid: I believe it is about time the two of you tell us about your world.
That made everyone Velvet included look at the Master.
Yen Sid: Now which one of you would like to start.
Oscar: Would you like to go first?
Velvet: … No, you go ahead… I need a minute.
Oscar: I… understand. I suppose I should begin by telling you the name of our world. It's called Desolation.
Kairi: That sounds… unusual.
Oscar: Does it? I've never really questioned it.
Riku: Don't worry about it.
Sora: Ya, we've heard and been to stranger places.
Oscar: I see, well not much of the world has been explored but the habitat areas are all ruled by the Holy Midgand Empire. The Abbey, the order of Exorcist, helps govern the empire.
Sora: That sounds cool.
Oscar: The Abbey is led by Artorius Collbrande; he is also called a Shepherd of the people.
Velvet: That bastard, a Shepherd of the people? What bullshit.
The Exorcist chose to ignore that comment.
Riku: Why are people turning into demons on your world?
Oscar: They're called Daemon's actually they just sound similar. As for your question, it's because of the daemonblight. It's a disease that transforms humans and animals into daemons.
Sora: So they're just sick, that means they can be turned back.
Oscar: No they can't but I have been told that there is a way to stop the spread with the aid of a certain daemon called a-
Velvet: A Therion.
Mickey: Therion, is that the type that you are Velvet?
Velvet: Yes… it is.
Yen Sid: I believe this would be enough information to begin the search. If I need more I will contact you.
Oscar: Thank you Master Yen Sid.
Mickey: Now we just need to send you to guys to Radiant Garden an-
Velvet: Hold on one second!
Velvet's sudden outburst startled everyone.
Velvet: I remember you guys saying that there's a chance that others survived the world falling to darkness. What are the conditions for that to happen?
They all pause for a moment as everyone begins to realize what Velvet is getting at.
Oscar: You're wondering if Lord Artorius survived aren't you?
Velvet: If he's out there somewhere then I have to kill him. If I can't go to this Realm of Darkness anytime soon then I might as well start looking for him out here. So do you think he's survived?
Riku: Why are you after this Artorius guy, from what we've all heard he seems alright so why?
Velvet: THAT MURDERER DESERVES DEATH!
Sora: Velvet please, we just want things to make sense of all this and if he's dangerous then we'll deal with him so please.
The daemon girl remains silent for a moment while everyone else looks at her patiently to hear the tale of her and the Abbey leader. Velvet looks to Sora and begins to cry much to everyone's surprise.
Velvet: Arthur…no Artorius… he… he killed Laphi.
Kairi: Laphi?
Velvet: … My little brother.
Everyone was speechless apron hearing that but none were as speechless as Oscar.
Oscar: W-What…there's no way that he did…that.
Velvet just turned to him with anger & tears still in her eyes
Velvet: He DID.
Oscar: Well…well maybe he had a reason. Lo-
Velvet: A REASON! FOR WHAT POSSIBLE REASON COULD TAKING THE LIFE OF A ILL CHILD AND STEALING HIS POWER FOR YOURSELF, SO THAT YOU CAN GO OUT TO
PLAY HERO AND SAVE THE WORLD! WAS STABBING HIS DEAD WIFE'S BROTHER WITH HIS SWORD REASONABLE!
Oscar: But
Velvet: WHAT ABOUT CUTTING OFF MY ARM AND TURNING ME INTO A DAEMON!
Riku: Wait, he turned you into a daemon!?
Velvet: WHAT ABOUT LOCKING ME UP AND FEEDING ME NOTHING BUT OTHER DAEMON'S FOR THREE YEARS!
Oscar: He wanted to save… everyone
Velvet: WELL WHO WILL SAVE MY BROTHER HUH!
The young exorcist just looks to the floor in defeat. He sees Velvet's eyes; those tears are real the eyes of someone who truly loves their sibling.
Oscar: (Inner thought) Would Lo- no Artorius really do such a thing to them? I need to figure this out.
CUT TO JOHN*
John: Alright time to go.
He walks further down the hallway looking all around to see if there's anyone else in view. He noticed the stairs & decided to open a Dark Corridor.
John: Finally, I can get my suit.
The eager young man walks into the corridor. Just as another student with light green hair tied into buns and yellow eyes walks down the flight of stairs to see the corridor and watches as it vanishes without a trace.
Double buns girl: What?... Oh I guess that's what his ability is. I wonder if Cecile would like to hear about this?
Yen Sid's Tower*
John proceeds to run up the stairs to the elderly wizard room wearing an excited expression. But before he could continue, he ran into Flora, Fauna, & Merryweather walking down the stairs. He was about to call out to them but noticed Sora walking behind them with a girl he didn't recognize, that being Velvet. One of the few things that he noticed first about her was the fact her eyes were bloodshot from crying probably.
John: um… Hey, is everything okay?
His eyes shifting between Velvet, Sora, & the three fairies.
Fauna: I know you just want to help but now isn't the time.
Flora: The young lady just needs some time right now.
Merryweather: Oh, and don't forget the fresh air.
John: um, Okay.
He steps aside letting everyone pass. Sora spoke up.
Sora: The others are upstairs, they can fill you in if you want.
John: Sure.
He then continued up the stairs until he finally reached the study of Master Yen Sid & knoxs.
Yen Sid: Yes, come in.
John: Hi, Master Yen Sid. Good to see you again. Looks like everyone here.
Riku: Hey, John.
Kairi: How's school treating you?
Mickey: Nice to see you're well.
John: Riku, Kairi, your Majesty.
He can tell everyone is genuinely happy to see him, but he can also sense the atmosphere of the room probably because of whatever happened with that girl. He then realized one more person in the room he didn't recognize a young man who looked to be very deep in thought, that being Oscar.
John: Hi there, my name's John.
Oscar:...
Oscar did not respond let alone notice John speaking to him or walk into the room as he was still thinking about what Velvet had said & maybe even find a reason for why the leader of the Abbey would do such a thing. No matter how much he tried he couldn't think of anything.
John: … Okay then.
John: Is this a bad time? I can just come back later.
Yen Sid: Apologies, the fairies dropped off your new garments with me while they look after someone for a moment.
The wizard pushed a silver suitcase to John.
Yen Sid: These garments do the things you ask for and a little more. They also help repel the darkness and most minor attacks. They are self mending if the need ever arises, as well as provide some level healing.
John: Thank you Master this helps a lot. Well I should start heading back.
He was planning to stay a little longer but now decided that wouldn't be the best idea as he can still feel the tension in the room.
John: If there's anything I could do just ask.
Yen Sid: Wait.
John: Yes, Master.
Yen Sid: There is something you could do for me, but only if you believe you have the time. It may be a heavy burden to ask.
John: What is it?
Yen Sid: Oscar I would like you to listen for this matter concerns you as well.
Upon hearing his name the young exorcist snaps out of his thoughts.
Oscar: Oh Please forgive my rudeness Master.
Yen Sid: It's quite alright. Now then, John I would like for you to take Oscar here with you to your world to stay and fight by your side. Velvet as well, at least for the foreseeable future.
John: humm? Riku: What!? Kairi: Is that safe? Mickey: Are you sure!? Oscar: I understand.
Everyone responded all at once, to the point where it was hard to say who said what.

Yes, I am using character's from the Tales of series as some of the party members.
Yes, there will be other party members and Final Fantasy characters & MAYBE some that aren't in either will be in the party or at least appear we'll see.
Also I feel like I should mention this but in the original story John was at Wellston for two years. Here I put him awhile before the story started so he hasn't been there for the two years.
