Chapter 7: Carrie meet Sonic

(Later at the White's Residence…)

Sonic has now climbed through the window and is inside Margaret's bedroom, all over the workbench.

"Okay, I'm in." Sonic replied, as he got down from the workbench and onto the floor. "With minimal damage to Carrie's property."

As Sonic reaches into the satchel and pulls out a Ring.

"Here we go. It didn't work out on Earth, but that's okay. You're going to a safe world. A nice, safe world filled with mushrooms. Mushrooms that'll be your only friends. That sounds awful. I can't do this. You have to do it. There's no other option." Sonic explained. "All right."

Sonic prepares to toss the ring when he hears the door to her mother's bedroom banging open and he sees Carrie while looking around…

"Mama!" Carrie replied, as she didn't see her mother. "Mama? Where are you, Mama?"

Carrie looked at a stunned Sonic…

"Uh, meow?" Sonic asked in concern.

Carrie screams in horror and Sonic screams back before Carrie back and Sonic back smash in the desk with a lamp and fall to Sonic's head.

"OW!" Sonic yelled.

As Sonic starts losing consciousness, he sees Carrie in horror.

"Sorry." Sonic replied.

Sonic drops the Ring and it opens up a portal to the sprawling streets of San Francisco in the middle of the floor and a bewildered Carrie watches while Sonic stumbles to the ground and drops his ring satchel through the portal, which lands on the roof of the Transamerica Building to San Francisco. The portal begins to close.

"No." Sonic groans.

The portal is now closed, leaving an unconscious Sonic lying on the ground and Carrie, still in shock at what he saw…

"What?" Carrie asked in concern.

(Inside the living room…)

Sonic is now inside the desk and Carrie gently pokes him with a spatula and moves her head a little. She then notices Sonic's quills and picks up the Ring and the one she found earlier. It's a match.

"The Blue Devil." Carrie replied.

Carrie turns around and walks to the book bag on a chair, what she should do, while Sonic regains consciousness, stands up at the desk, and tries to stand up. Carrie turns back to the desk, but is startled by Sonic.

"Carrie White?" Sonic asked in concern.

"It can talk. You're not… You're not here to abduct me, are you?" Carrie asked in concern.

"You abducted me." Sonic replied.

"Okay, that's a fair point. What are you? Why were you hiding out in my mother's bedroom?" Carrie asked in concern.

"I needed somewhere safe. And you're the only person I could think of, Carrie." Sonic replied.

"How did you know my name?" Carrie asked in concern.

"Cause you talk to your mother. And then bullies them if they get out of line." Sonic replied.

"Again, fair." Carrie replied.

"Wait, wait, wait. Where are all the mushrooms? Why am I still on Earth? What is- Oh no! I lost my Rings!" Sonic replied.

"What? Why are you here?" Carrie asked in concern.

"You think you're worried? I'm not even wearing pants." Sonic replied.

"Why not? What's that you to do with me?" Carrie asked in concern.

"I don't have time to explain, but you have to help me." Sonic replied.

"No, I don't. Why?" Carrie asked in concern.

"Well, my legs, which normally would be classified as lethal weapons, feel like spaghetti. I need your help. Please." Sonic replied.

Carrie looks at Sonic, she looks around to her home.

"Fine. You stay here." Carrie replied.

Carrie walks out while Sonic tries to walk, but instead faceplants on the floor after falling off a table.

"Uh, little help?" Sonic asked in concern.

Carrie turned to Sonic.

"Get up." Carrie replied.

"Okay." Sonic replied.

Sonic stood up.

"All right, pal, you need to start talking right now. Who are you? What are you?" Carrie asked in concern.

"I'm a hedgehog! I feel like that's obvious. And I'm in big trouble." Sonic replied.

"Oh, you're in big trouble? You're not the one who punched some government weirdo back there." Carrie replied.

"You think you have problems? I lost my Rings." Sonic replied.

"Rings? What are you talking about?" Carrie asked in concern.

"Okay. Rings are how all advanced cultures travel between worlds. And now mine are on top of a pointy building I've only ever seen in San Francisco." Sonic replied.

"Hey." Carrie said, as she looked down at Sonic. "San Francisco?"

"So, I'd like you to take me to San Francisco, so I can get back my Rings and use them to go to the Mushroom Planet." Sonic replied.

"Mushroom Planet." Carrie nodded.

"Yes!" Sonic replied.

"Right. Okay, pal, out you go." Carrie replied.

"I'm sorry, what?" Sonic asked in concern.

"Look, this is the worst possible time for me to get myself into trouble, okay? You asked me to save your life, I saved your life. Now, please, go find your Rings and your mushroom land. Hopefully I'm gonna wake up in a hospital bed and the doctor's gonna tell me that my colonoscopy was a big success. Okay? So, goodbye." Carrie explained.

"Okay. Goodbye." Sonic replied.

"Goodbye." Carrie replied.

Notice Sonic walked, paused, turned around, and was still standing next to her house.

"Why aren't you leaving?" Carrie asked in concern.

"I don't know where San Francisco is." Sonic replied.

"It's west." Carrie replied.

"West?" Sonic asked in concern.

"Straight shot, can't miss it." Carrie replied.

"Fine. That's cool. I'm totally cool saying goodbye now." Sonic replied.

Sonic speeds off in the direction Carrie gave him, but he comes back to the White's bungalow.

"So, as I crashed into the cold, dark water of the Pacific, I realized a few things. A, I have no idea where I'm going. B, saltwater stings. C, I shouldn't even be on this planet right now, but I am! Why?! Because you screamed at me!" Sonic explained.

"I know." Carrie replied.

"You screamed at me!" Sonic called.

"All right, I heard you for the first time. You don't have to… pile it on. Good grief." Carrie replied.

Sonic extends his thumb. "I'm staying." Extends his index finger. "I'm here." Opens his hands. "It's on my head! And clearly, I'm not going to be able to do this on my own."

Carrie watched Sonic.

"All right, get in my home." Carrie replied.

"Really?" Sonic said, as he shook himself off really quickly, puffing up his fur. "You're gonna help me?"

"I guess it is a little bit my fault that all this is happening to you." Carrie replied.

"Not a little bit, entirely. It is Entirely. It is entirely your fault." Sonic replied.

"Okay, it's entirely my fault. Are you coming?" Carrie asked in concern.

"Yes." Sonic replied.

Sonic shakes himself off again, his fur going back to normal and he walks back into the house.

"Road trip! Whoop, whoop!" Sonic replied.

"What am I doing?" Carrie sighs.

Carrie and Sonic at her White's bungalow.

"All right, there's gonna be rules on this trip. Number one, do exactly as I say all the time. Got it?" Carrie asked in concern.

Gives Carrie a little salute with his fingers.

"Got it, Carrietta." Carrie replied.

"Would you stop with 'Carrietta'? I have nicknames. It's Carrie." Carrie replied.

"I'm Sonic." Sonic replied, pointing to me.

"Sonic. Sonic." Carrie replied.

As Sonic smiled.

"So you've been spying on us all these years?" Carrie asked in concern.

"I mean, I wouldn't call it "spying." We were all just hanging out, only I wasn't invited and no one knew I was there." Sonic replied.

"I can't believe Chris was enemies all this time." Carrie replied.

"Yeah. You should listen to Chris Hargensen." Sonic replied.

"You're right. What day?" Carrie asked in concern.

"It's morning." Sonic replied.

"Oh no, I'm late to Ewen High School." Carrie replied.

"Don't worry, Carrie. I changed your shirt." Sonic replied.

"Yeah. You changed the shirt." Carrie replied.

Sonic looked down at his body.

"Hmm, maybe." Sonic replied with a smile.

"Are we going to school?" Carrie asked in concern.

"Yeah. Deal." Sonic replied.

"Deal." Carrie replied.

"Yeah!" Sonic cheering.

"Fine." Carrie replied.

Carrie and Sonic are going to Ewen High School…
