ALAN walked down the stairs to the dining area and kitchen. He noticed Scott sitting on a stool at the table. He had his back to the table and was gazing out towards the ocean.

"You okay, big bro?" Alan asked.

Scott seemed to snap back to reality. "Huh? Oh, Alan! Yes, sorry. Never better."

Alan raised an eyebrow at how happy Scott seemed. "Are you sure? You took a helluva beating the other day."

"Yeah, and I can't wait to get flying again," said Scott. "Damn medical advice."

"Grandma's word is final with these things, Scott," said Alan.

"I know, it's just, I feel fine," said Scott. "I'm not badly hurt. I haven't suffered anything serious. I just want to get back in my bird and go help people."

There was a few moments pause before Alan spoke again. "And Kayo?"

"What about her?" Scott asked.

"I heard what you asked her," said Alan.

"Oh…that," said Scott. "Yes, I did ask her that."

"But…you weren't asking if she loved you as a brother, were you?" said Alan.

Scott shook his head. "No…I wasn't," he said. He hung his head.

Alan looked at his shoes, feeling somewhat guilty at having asked. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be," said Scott, lifting his head and producing a smile. "I'm glad."

Alan was surprised. "You are?"

"Yes. This feeling about whether Kayo and I are in love with each other has formed a darkened cloud over the pair of us," said Scott. "It's clouded my judgement on a few occasions and I think Kayo would say the same. Since we had that conversation, that cloud seems to have gone. We may not be siblings by blood, but Kayo is a sister. No doubt about it."

Alan decided to make a confession. "If it's any consolation, I may have had feelings for her as well," he said. "Especially the times she seemed to be babysitting me, I may have made some comments. Then when we were at Mom's ranch before The Mechanic attacked, she said something about memories that made me feel like something was gonna happen between us."

"I see," said Scott. "And what do you think now?"

"Well I found…Sophie," said Alan. "So…I only see Kayo as a sister too."

"And I'm the same."

The eldest and youngest brothers turned around in surprise. "John?!"

John was walking towards them having come down the stairs. "Hey, guys."

"When did you come back down?" asked Alan.

"Just got here," said John. "I came to see if my biggest brother was out of bed yet."

"I'm fine, John," said Scott. "But…what did you mean by you're the same?"

John helped himself to some coffee. "Seeing as you two are confessing feelings, I may as well do the same," he said. "I had feelings for Kayo for a while," said John. "When you and she were heading out of control towards the Sun, I was very fearful for you both. Maybe more than I should have been."

"That reaction was natural, John," said Alan. "I'd have been the same if our positions were switched."

"But you haven't got feelings for Kayo anymore?" asked Scott.

John shook his head. "Not since I met Ridley, no," he said. "Is that wrong?"

Alan and Scott looked at each other. "No," they both said together.

"Guys, let's be reasonable here," said Alan. "Dad brought Kayo into our family because she and her Dad had nowhere to go. Kyrano left Kayo in our hands and she's now one of us. Could any of us really have a relationship with her like Virgil and Hayley or Gordon and Lady Penelope?"

Scott and John now looked at each other. They thought about it. "No," they both said.

"It would be too weird," said John.

"Agreed," added Scott. "Although…" he added. "I would like to hope she does find someone. Everyone deserves to have someone special in their lives."

Alan and John nodded in agreement. But what none of them realised was that Kayo was hiding at the top of the stairs to the lounge, having heard every word!

"Thunderbirds Are Go!"

"IN YOUR HANDS"

KAYO didn't know what to think after hearing that. She remembered exactly what Alan had been talking about. The whole thing with Scott made a lot more sense now. As for John, she hadn't even realised. She found herself feeling conflicted. Should she go down there and set things straight with them? Or should she slip away and hope they hadn't realised she'd heard them. She decided on the latter and slunk away to the lounge where only Jeff was present.

Jeff looked up as Kayo came across the lounge. He noticed the troubled look on her face. "Everything okay, Kayo?" he asked.

"Yes, Mr Tracy," Kayo replied quickly. "Everything's fine."

Jeff raised an eyebrow. He could tell Kayo was lying, but decided not to ask any further. "Very well," he said. "Whatever it is, make sure it's resolved quickly, please."

"Of course, Mr Tracy," said Kayo.

Then Jeff remembered something. "Oh, by the way. I've spoken to Dr Charles," he said. "He's got a spare appointment the day after tomorrow. Would that suit you?"

"Sure," said Kayo. "The sooner we can get this over with the better."

"Have you had any more of them?" asked Jeff.

Kayo turned to face him and shook her head. "No, I haven't," she said. "But then again, I can go for weeks without not having one, and then something tends to set it off. I just cannot explain it."

"Well hopefully if you can provide Dr Charles with enough information, maybe he can find a solution," said Jeff.

Kayo nodded. "Thank you, Mr Tracy. I appreciate this."

Jeff smiled. "You are family, Kayo." He gave a chuckle. "You're the daughter I never had."

"AAAAAAAARGH!"

Jeff leapt out of his seat as Kayo grabbed her head with her hands and fell to the floor, crying out as she did so.

"What the?! KAYO?!"

Hearing Kayo's scream brought John, Scott and Alan running up the stairs.

"Dad?!" exclaimed Scott.

"Kayo!" gasped John.

"What happened?" asked Alan.

Kayo was lying on her side, covering her face and whimpering. As she did, strange visions flashed through her mind. Visions that were so quick that she wasn't able to fully process them. And then as soon as it had started, the visions stopped and the pain vanished. Kayo stopped crying and removed her hands before opening her eyes. She looked up at the concerned faces of Jeff, John, Alan and Scott all looking down at her. "Oh, God…did it just happen again?" she asked.

"Yes, Kayo," said Jeff. "I'm so sorry."

Kayo allowed herself to be helped up by John and Jeff. "Don't apologise, Mr Tracy," she said. "You didn't cause this." She rubbed her head. "Jeez, that's some headache I have now."

Grandma and Brains then came in. "What happened?" Grandma asked.

"Kayo had another attack," said Alan.

"Oh, dear," said Grandma as she bent down in front of Kayo. She placed a hand on Kayo's head. "Got a temperature?"

"No, Mrs Tracy," Kayo replied. "I do have a headache though."

"Well we can soon fix that at least," said Grandma. "Help her up, boys."

Jeff and John hauled Kayo up to her feet. She was a little wobbly but was able to stand. "It's okay, I can manage, thank you," she said.

"Come on, dear," said Grandma as she led Kayo away towards the kitchen.

The brothers and Brains watched them go whilst Jeff returned to his seat. The others couldn't help but notice how troubled he looked.

"Are you okay, Dad?" asked Scott.

Jeff sat down and placed his chin against the top of his hands with a thoughtful expression on his face. "I don't know, son," he answered after a few moments. "That was too coincidental."

"How do you m-mean, Mr Tracy?" asked Brains.

"I was just telling Kayo that I'd arranged for her to have a meeting with Dr Charles about these attacks," said Jeff. "She said she'd not had one for a while."

"And then she just randomly has one?" asked John. "That's just weird."

"There has to be something behind it," said Scott. "Like, I don't know, a trigger?"

"A trigger?" asked Alan.

"Yes, Alan," said Brains. "You c-could be right on that, Scott. Maybe there are certain w-words that can cause these strange anomalies to strike at Kayo's mind and cause her g-great discomfort."

"Yeah, but like what words, Brains?" asked Scott.

Jeff then came to a realisation. "Daughter…"

The others looked at him. "Say again, Dad?" said John.

"I said to Kayo she's the daughter I never had," Jeff said. "And it was then that she began screaming in agony and fell to the floor."

Scott, Alan and John were very confused as to why the word 'daughter' might cause Kayo to have these weird mental attacks.

Brains on the other hand looked thoughtful. "That c-could be a possibility, Mr Tracy," he said. "There has been a lot of m-mystery and uncertainty as to what has happened to Kyrano. We h-haven't seen or heard a thing from him in years."

"No, not since before we picked up your SOS message, Dad," said Alan. "I remember when Kayo and I were going to the space junkyard to look for the Zero-X escape pod that Kayo said she couldn't wait to tell him once she'd be able to."

"And yet, there's been no sign or trace of Kyrano anywhere," said Jeff. He looked back at Brains. "You may be onto something, Brains. But how could we prove that?"

"M-Maybe if Dr Charles can find out what words that trigger Kayo's mind off are, perhaps we can f-find a way of getting around it," said Brains.

"I do hope so, Brains," said Jeff as he sat back in his chair. "I'm getting concerned. Kayo has a job that's somewhat more tough than what you boys do. We can't afford her to have one of these attacks when she's on assignment again. Especially if she has to take on The Cabal."

The others nodded in agreement.

Kayo took small sips from the glass of water that Grandma had given her after taking a pain-killer to get rid of the headache.

"How do you feel now?" Grandma asked.

"Pain's easing, thank you, Mrs Tracy," said Kayo. "God, I really need to get to the bottom of what causes these. If only…"

"Only what, dear?" Grandma asked.

"Nothing."

"No, come on, Kayo, talk to me," said Grandma. "None of us can help you unless you tell us what you can."

"There's not much I can say, Mrs Tracy," said Kayo. "I get this horrendous sharp pain and then everything becomes spinny and then…"

"And then what?"

"I have these very strange visions," Kayo went on. "I can't explain them though. They go past so quickly. It's like something happened to me, but…I have no memory of what it was."

Grandma was intrigued. "You gotta tell the others this," she said.

Jeff, Scott, John, Alan and Brains sat down to listen as Kayo recounted what she'd told Grandma to them. They were equally as intrigued by what she said.

"Visions you say?" said Jeff. "What kind of visions?"

"I can't say, Mr Tracy," said Kayo. "They all happen so fast that I have no time to process what they are."

"You can't pick any out individually?" asked Scott.

Kayo shook her head. "Maybe one or two," she said. "But that's not a lot of help."

"It could be," said Jeff. "Try at least if you can."

So Kayo leant back in her chair and closed her eyes, trying to remember the visions. It was hard, but there was at least one that came to her. "I am picturing something," she said. "I'm sitting in the back of some kind of vehicle. I appear to be tied up. And there's someone else in there with me. Someone in a yellow and white jumpsuit."

The others exchanged confused looks.

"That doesn't really narrow it down," said Scott.

"Do we know anyone who has a yellow and white jumpsuit?" asked John.

"Didn't Professor Kwak have one when she flew the Icarus?" said Alan.

"Yes! Yes, she did, I remember!" said Scott.

And then Brains suddenly remembered. He let out a gasp. "THE XLR-8!"

"The what now, Brains?" asked Jeff.

"That's it!" said Brains. "The m-missing mission!

"Don't you remember?" asked Brains. "Professor K-Kwak attempted to fly a Hyperspeed spacecraft around the Sun and back again. Then d-disaster struck and despite Alan's attempts to save her in Thunderbird 3, the craft exploded during re-entry yet Professor Kwak somehow managed to survive and parachuted down into the M-Malaysian Jungle."

Kayo's eyes snapped open. "And I went to find her!"

"Exactly!" said Brains. "And yet…we don't know what happened to the two of you whilst you were out there!"

"Of course!" said Jeff, jumping to his feet. "It's starting to make sense now! Something happened to you and Professor Kwak whilst you were in that jungle, Kayo that's caused you to somehow lose your memory."

Kayo was stunned by this revelation. "I, er…It must be, Mr Tracy…" she said.

"Can Dr Charles bring her memories back?" asked Alan.

"He's not that kind of doctor, Alan," said Jeff.

"No," said Brains. "But I think I m-might know of a way."

Everyone looked at him.

"You do? How?" asked John.

"The Mechanic once pitched to me an idea he h-had of a device he called Brain Probe," said Brains. "If successful, it could help people who have l-lost their memories to possibly regain them."

"Did he ever create this?" asked Scott.

"If he did, it was n-never put into practice," said Brains.

"Probably because he'd isolated himself from the rest of the world and didn't have anyone to test it on," said Grandma.

"Well he does now," said Jeff. "That's if you'd want to try this, Kayo?"

Kayo stood up. "I am sick to death of these weird attacks and visions, Mr Tracy," she said. "Whatever it takes, I want it resolved."

"Well that settles it," said Jeff. "Brains, is The Mechanic awake?"

"No, but I can easily go and wake him," said Brains. "He should be well rested by now."

"I should think so," said Scott. "We haven't seen him in weeks."

Brains eagerly hurried out of the lounge to head down to his lab.

Just then a beeping sound came from the wall. Normally Jeff would look at John's portrait, but seeing as he was there with them he knew it wouldn't be him. Just then a hologram of Virgil appeared. "Thunderbird 2 to Tracy Island. We're five minutes out. Requesting permission to land."

Jeff checked the long-range radar. "Permission granted, Thunderbird 2. Welcome home."

Grandma got to her feet. "I'd better get lunch ready," she said.

"Boy, do we have a story for you and Gordon, Virgil," said Alan.

"We look forward to it," said Virgil. "Island now visual. Over and out."

Thunderbird 2 had been out on a mission to California where a mysterious fire had broken out in multiple warehouses. They had not been occupied at the time but millions of dollars worth of damage had been caused to them. It had proven too greater job for the local Fire-Department so they'd called in the assistance of International Rescue where Virgil and Gordon had assisted in getting the blaze under control. Now they were both tired and hungry as they'd gone out before having breakfast. The energy cereal bars they'd eaten after take-off could only provide them with so much energy.

Virgil felt his stomach rumble as the island got bigger in his viewpoint. Gordon then entered the cockpit having just come out of the showers. "Your turn, Virg," he said.

"We're almost home, I can go when we land," Virgil replied.

Thunderbird 2 manoeuvred in low towards Tracy Island. As they approached the runway they saw the line of palm trees fold back and the large rock that concealed the entrance slide down to allow them to enter once they'd touched down. Virgil had done this so many times that he could almost do it with his eyes shut. As soon as Thunderbird 2 touched down on the tarmac, the wings were folded up and the great green goliath began to taxi along the runway into the hangar. Once past, the trees folded back up and the rock rose up once more to conceal the entrance from the outside.

Jeff was just tidying up some papers when an alarm began buzzing on the desk taking him and the brothers by surprise. "What the hell?!" He checked. "Intruder alert?!"

The brothers and Kayo were on their feet. "What?!"

Jeff checked the long-range radar.

"Has Thunderbird 2 been followed?" asked Scott.

"No…nothing is showing on the radar, Scott," Jeff replied. He then checked the island map itself. His heart was in his mouth when he saw where the light showing the detected intruder was. In an instant he shouted into the radio. "VIRGIL! DON'T RELEASE THE MODULE! STAY AS YOU ARE! DON'T LEAVE THE COCKPIT!"

Virgil and Gordon were confused. "What's wrong, Dad?" asked Gordon.

But Jeff didn't answer Gordon. Instead he barked orders to the others. "Kayo, get your stealth suit on! Alan, Scott, John, grab your stun-guns and meet me in Thunderbird 2's hangar! Move!"

Nobody needed telling twice as Kayo sprinted out of the lounge followed by the three brothers. Jeff meanwhile opened a drawer on his desk and took out his own stun-gun. He always kept one in there, but he'd hoped he'd never have to use it.

"Get to Brains's lab and stay there with him until I give the all-clear, Mother," Jeff said as she ushered Grandma out as well.

Virgil was anxious as he checked through all of the CCTV cameras inside Thunderbird 2 as well as the module. Jeff's words could only mean there was someone or something inside the craft that shouldn't be there. But so far he wasn't finding anything. "Nothing!" he said with irritation. "Cameras are showing nothing!"

Gordon was on-edge as well. Virgil had sealed the door leading out of the cockpit as a means to keep them safe. "If only Dad could tell us what we're dealing with here!"

"He probably doesn't know either," said Virgil. "But he must have gotten a warning of some kind or he wouldn't have told us to stay put."

Gordon sighed in frustration and then looked out of the window where he saw a strange sight. "Hey, Virgil, look!"

Virgil looked and was surprised to see Scott, John and Alan running across the hangar towards them. They then formed a defensive line across in front of Thunderbird 2. Jeff appeared a few moments later with his weapon in one hand and a loud-hailer in the other. As he approached, he raised his wristwatch to speak to Virgil. "Okay, Virgil, listen carefully," said Jeff. "Raise the main body clear of the module and then slowly open the flap. There's an intruder on-board."

"An intruder?!" repeated Gordon.

Virgil just grimaced. The thought of someone having stowed away on his ship without him knowing made him furious. "Raising main body, Dad," he said with a very bitter tone in his voice.

The hydraulic legs lowered down and the docking clamps were released. Jeff and the brothers watched as the main body was lifted clear of Module 1. Jeff then looked up at Module 2 which was to his left side. He gave a nod at Kayo who was now in her suit waiting like a Panther ready to strike on its prey. She nodded back to say she was ready.

"Open the module, Virgil," said Jeff. "Nice and easy."

Virgil didn't acknowledge his father's instruction but flicked the switch instead.

As the door ramp began to slowly open, Jeff, Scott, Alan and John raised their weapons towards it. All could feel a growing sense of apprehension and cold sweats as they wondered what danger was lurking inside the module. Kayo, Virgil and Gordon too also felt it, as did Grandma and Brains who were watching via a camera feed in Brains's lab along with a now awoken Mechanic. Nobody said as word as the module door hit the metallic floor with a thud which echoed across the entire hangar. Then there was silence. As Jeff and the three brothers looked inside the module, all they could see were the large tanks of water and foam that were carried inside Module 1. The door didn't open as wide as the others due to the sound speaker system built into the top of it.

Jeff raised the loud-hailer. "Whoever is hiding in there, come out with your hands up!"

No answer came from inside Thunderbird 2. The cold sweats were getting more uncomfortable for the brothers who were trying very hard to keep their composure.

"This is your only warning!" Jeff said into the loud-hailer. "Come out now or we'll be forced to flush you out!"

Virgil, hearing those words, put his finger over a button that would release a fire-compression gas inside the module that would force anyone inside to run out.

It was at that moment that Jeff, the brothers outside and Kayo began to hear the sound of footsteps from just inside the door. Then came the sound of footsteps on the ramp door. But there was absolutely nobody that they could see.

Then came a voice. "Don't shoot, please! I don't want any trouble."

Alan, Scott and John exchanged confused and nervous glances. It was a woman's voice…and it had a very clear Scottish accent.

"Show yourself!" Jeff demanded.

"What?" asked the voice. "Oh, sorry. Force of habit."

And then, to the shock of everyone present, the figure that the voice belonged to suddenly faded into view.

Kayo was the first to find her voice. "Ghost!"

"The White Ghost?!" exclaimed Alan.

Scott tightened his weapon grip. "What the hell are you doing here?!" he demanded.

The White Ghost pushed back her hood and removed her helmet to reveal her face. She didn't look well. "Please…hear me out," she said, raising her hands. "I'm not here to-"

But before she could finish, Kayo leapt off the top of Module 2 and dived down on top of The White Ghost.

"KAYO, WAIT!" shouted Jeff.

Too late. Both women hit the ramp and tumbled off. As they did, something small came flying out of The White Ghost's suit. It looked like a tube of some kind. Before anyone could catch or do anything with it, it hit the floor by the ramp and smashed, revealing a cloud of sinister red smoke from within it.
