Dinosaur King: Project I

5 months had passed since the Arendelle war between the D-team and the Alpha gang. New friendships are forged, and a new alliance is born. But little do our heroes know that a new darkness is rising to take the entire Earth, with a savage pair of biological weapons. Now Elsa, Anna, and all their friends and family must come together to banish this darkness forever... or die trying.

Trouble in Corona

The kingdom of Corona, known to some as the kingdom under the sun, its people all jostling around for a truly special occasion. In about a two days' time, its beloved princess would have her official coronation as queen regent, and the guests list for the occasion had already been sent far and wide. Most notably, the Royal family of Arendelle, and the dinosaur kings.

At this current moment, the princess in question had just finished another art project, a wide beaming smile on her face as she looked to it with pride "So, Pascal, what do you think?" She asked her chameleon friend. The little lizard for his part looked to the painting himself, and gave a pleased little squeak at her accomplishment, even giving her a thumbs up.

Before the blond could give her thanks, the door to her room opened, and revealed Eugene with a grin on his handsome mug "There you are blondie, I've been wondering where you were today" he said to her

"Hi Eugene" Rapunzel replied brightly, wrapping her arms around him as the pair gave each other a small kiss.

"So, what are you working on this time sunshine?" the former outlaw asked his wife.

Rapunzel gave a loving and slightly excited smile as she turned her husband around, and showed the painting she did "What do you think?" She asked

Eugene took this time to observe what his wife created. A large wall painting, containing a very detailed replication of the dinosaur she became friends with, his head pointed upwards with a roar, and a foot standing on... a rather unexpected fellow "Is that... Zhan tiri?" He asked in mild shock.

"It is indeed" The princess replied in a sing song voice, hands on her hips and looking very proud of herself.

Her husband gave a short brief laugh before giving his opinion as he turned to her "Blondie, you know she was only defeated by making her combine the Moonstone and the Sundrop, remember?" He asked.

"Yes Eugene, I remember, I was there in that moment" Rapunzel replied, looking at him with a playfully raised eyebrow, walking over to the bed they now share and allowing pascal to climb up her arm and onto her shoulders "But you really didn't see Torch in action the way I did." She said as she sat down "After seeing what he is capable of, I'm willing to bet that even she, the evil warlock who wielded both gems, wouldn't even phase him, if not, maybe just barely" She said, lying flat on the bed with her head on the pillows and looking at the ceiling, an excited smile on her face

"I can see it oh so clearly" she said as she let her thoughts come to life in her mind

The scene changes to Rapunzel and Cassandras fight against the evil warlock, specifically the moment when they have her pinned to the staircase by the princess's hair "Is it your plan, to keep me here forever?" Zhan Tiri said.

"You know how Cass tossed me that shard of rock, that I used to cut my hair in that moment?" Rapunzel asked Eugene, her husband nodding to her.

Cass tosses the yellow rock shard into the princesses open hand, the blond clutching it tightly as she slashed it through her hair, cutting it without hesitation as it went from blond to brown. However, instead of causing the warlock to smash the moon stone and the sun drop together like how it really happened, her arms crossed over each other, missing their mark as she stumbled forwards and out of her confines.

"Well, what if they missed?"

"Missed?"

Grinning evilly with a dark laugh to match, she looked over her shoulders to see the shocked, wide-eyed expression of her now shocked and terrified enemies. Giving another chuckle she swung her right-hand forwards, summoning more of the mystic stones at them, causing the two women to scatter in a panic, rushing down to the courtyard.

Desperately, the two women first looked around the courtyard, seeing their friends and allies all down and unable to get up, then to each other "Raps- "

"Don't!" Rapunzel cut off her best friend, not wanting to hear what she had to say

"Hahahahaa!" Zhan Tiri laughed darkly, thrusting her arms forward and sending more sharp rocks their way.

"RAPS!" Cassandra cried, barging the former blond out of the way, before one of the flying rocks impaled her abdomen, making her freeze with her eyes wide

"Wow sunshine, didn't know that you had that kind of bone in there" Eugene commentated to his wife, his eyes slightly wide in shock "And to Cass of all people? Really?"

"Let's just say that when I make up a story, I just, kinda go in the direction that gives me the best ending I can think of" She said in reply as she sat up "Now may I continue?"

"CASSANDRA!" Rapunzel screamed, racing towards her former lady in waiting who fell to the ground, unmoving and not breathing as the brunette reached her with tears of horror and heartbreak in her eyes "No! Cass… please, don't leave me!" She begged as she brought her head to rest on her lap.

"And now you see Rapunzel" Said princess turned her eyes to the menacing warlock, her eyes a mix of rage, vengeance, sorrow, fear and helplessness as she stared up at her "In the end, you and all Coronans are vermin to be squashed. Demanitus failed to destroy me forever… and with your death, shall your home, finally be destroyed, for all of eternity" She swore with a manic evil smirk on her face, a hand raised as if prepared to crush her.

"But just when it seemed that all hope was lost"

Before Zhan Tiri could kill the princess, a ball of fire suddenly crashed into her chest and made her fly into the castle walls, just before a roar was heard on the air.

Both, the stunned warlock and a wide-eyed Rapunzel turned to see a Saurophaganax marching over the rise and toward the castle gates, another roar leaving his jaws. "I will make you suffer, for everything you've put these people through" Torch swore at the demon with a snarl

"I don't even know who or what you are" Zhan Tiri bit back at him as she raised herself back up, summoning more of the golden rocks around her

"You will" he told her, before charging forward. The princess of Corona watched with growing shock and awe as the evil warlock sent more rocks at him, yet he just ploughed right through them like how Hectors Rhino would to trees. He roared and snapped his teeth onto Zhan Tiris neck, throwing her to the ground with an accompanying pained growl from the demoness, before he grabbed her by the tentacles and swung her around a few times, before releasing her and making her fly through the gateway.

Rapunzel then watched and unadulterated amazement as Torch glowed red, allowed his mouth to gather fire while stomping a foot in the ground, and allowing a magma blaster to shoot from his mouth at his enemy. Zhan Tiri, shocked deep down at his power, attempted to defend herself by a rock barricade with just a second to spare before the beam crashed into it, and upon seeing it a success, she laughed "If this is the best you can do, then you will not stop the death of Corona" She boasted.

Torch shut down his attack "Oh woman." He sighed "I'm not done yet" He goaded, before fire filled his mouth again, this time leaping high up into the air, and performed a firebomb dive toward the warlock. Caught off guard by this attack, she failed to respond to this attack in time and got consumed in the large resulting blast.

The light flash caused by the blast soon died away, and Rapunzel looked over the see that the evil entity was now no more than a pile of cinders, watching with renewed awe as the Saurophaganax roared into the air in victory

Eugene, wide eyed at this tale gave a clap "Well, well honey, I know you have a knack for art, but I never knew you could come up with stories like that" he said to her pridefully

The soon-to-be-queen gave a giddy smile as she gave a slight giggle "Just goes to show that you don't know all of my talents"

"All whose talents?" A very unexpected voice perked up by the door, causing the rooms occupants to turn to see "Though I have to go with your husband about the whole story thing" She said easily "That doesn't change anything about me not being able to stand you, Fitzherbert"

"Oh, would you look at that, ol' cobra lady is back. Still as cold and venomous as I remember" Eugene bit back in the same dirty tone that she used. Though the two did exchange a slight smirk.

Rapunzel however had the biggest smile on her face "CASS!" She squealed in delight, immediately rushing up to her and wrapping her arms around her.

"Hey Raps!" Cassandra laughed happily as she returned the tight hug, a rare but massive grin to go with "Word about your coronation reached my ear on my travels, so I thought I'd come by to cheer you on" she said as they pulled away

"Aww Cass, that means so much coming from you!" The princess exclaimed delightfully "We didn't know where you were, otherwise, we would've sent a formal invitation"

"Hey, no need to apologise about that, I moved around a lot so I didn't bother with an address" Cass responded with a wave of her hand "Besides, I've got some interesting stories of my own to share, some that might catch your interest".

Meanwhile, out on the channel that separates Arendelle from its southern neighbour was a galleon that flew the kingdoms colours, smoothly sailing on its currently calm waters. The crew aboard were going about their chores as the king and queen stood upon the bridge, the former at the helm with Sugi right at their side, the latter now sporting a large baby bump you would see from someone who would normally be 8 months pregnant. Only thanks to the magic of Ahtohallan a while back, she is technically only 2 to 3.

The king for his part had a content smile on his face, feeling the ocean breeze on his human face, lost in thought as the D-kids climbed up the steps to join them "How long until your cheeks start to hurt?" Zoe joked.

"Hm?" Elliot was promptly snapped out of his thoughts.

"You've had that look on your face ever since you came up here and that was hours ago" Max said on his girlfriend's behalf.

"Oh, he usually makes that smile when he considers everything in his life perfect" Elsa replied for her husband while she had an arm wrapped around his "It's the look he has when he's most at peace and content, or when doing something that makes him happy" She continued with a smile of her own

"Never took you for one to like sailing, I'll admit that much" Rex said with a smile of his own

"I may not be a good swimmer in my human form, but the feeling of the ocean breeze on my face is something I'll never get tired of" He easily replied "When you lack most of the technological advancements of every other nation on earth, you learn to appreciate the simpler things in life. Some things you wouldn't even expect to like, such as sailing for me"

Each of the dinosaur kings looked to each other in thought of what the dragon king of Arendelle said, taking in his words before looking to them again "Hey guys!" They then looked to see a bubbly Anna coming over to them, her fiancé and his faithful reindeer right behind, it was a brightly smiling Olaf however that spoke up "Did you know that sailing for long periods of time can make a sailor immune to seasickness?"

Bless the little snowman and his thirst for knowledge "Well, no not really" Rex spoke up

"It's true, you see- "

"Hey Olaf" Anna politely interrupted "Maybe save everything you learned after we're back home, so you can tell us all at once" She suggested, though really it was to stop him from going into another one of his rants. Only Iduna and Agnarr seem to be the only ones that can take it.

"Oh yeah, that's a good point" He replied to her "Who knows what I could learn in Corona, its history, the story of the lost princess, the kingdoms traditions…" He listed as he then walked off

Kristoff gave a slight sigh of relief as he watched him go off "Anna, you are amazing" he said to his fiancé as he wrapped his arms around her from behind

"So you always say" She replied with affection, before turning her attention to the D-kids "I checked in on your dinosaurs below deck, though I am wondering why you brought some extra muscle" the Arendelle princess went on unsurely.

By this she meant the extra dinosaurs the D-team brought along. After what happened in India nearly a year ago, it was Guru's opinion that the three young kings bring along some reinforcements for extra security for the visit to the kingdom under the sun. They decided in the end to bring Torch for his relationship with the princess, and Killers gang for their power and the hardened experience they attained from the days of the Jurassic period "Just extra measures for protection for the majority of them. You remember what we told you about what happened to Rex on that visit to India a while back, don't you?" Max asked her

"We don't want that happening again to anyone" Zoe added in

Anna gave a nod "Yeah that's a good point"

"Land Ho! Off the starboard bow!" The crew member from the crow's-nest suddenly called down.

They all turned in the specified direction the man pointed, and sure enough, sticking above the sea like a sore thumb was a very familiar castle. For some of them at least "I see it. All hands, full sails!" Elliot called out.

While that was happening, a set of different souls were just packing what was left of their luggage onto their horse-drawn cart for their visit to the kingdom, all of which were under the gaze of a large, beautiful tree house "Okay you girls, you got everything?" The oldest of them, a large, buffed dark skinned man with a bald head asked his daughters.

"All of my stuff is in, Pop" One of the girls, one who had black hair and brown eyes replied.

"This is my last bag now, papa" A redheaded, blue-eyed girl added, loading said bag into the cart.

"Alright then, shall we?" The father went, taking his position at the front of the cart and taking the reins.

"Let's go!" Both girls exclaimed happily as they jumped into the back

"Then Corona here we come, hya!" He replied, snapping the reigns as the horse set off, taking the cart and its passengers with it. No way was he gonna miss the coronation of his best friends wife.

However, as they left, no one saw a dinosaur card capsule land on the ground near the base of the tree that their home sat in, opening up as it made impact and releasing a fire card along with three move cards, all of which landed in the final embers of a fire that they had made the previous night causing the card to glow red.

As the red glow ended, a truly monstrous dinosaur appeared. The creature had a size that rivalled spiny's big size, had a long but thick looking skull with a lipless maw of teeth, medium sized arms with three claws on each end, a thick heavy tail and a ridge of spines that that ran down the length of its back to the tip of his tail, the one in the middle being the tallest and most wicked. Its colours consisted of a middling grey, with its upper half being patterned in a deep greyish blue. This was a Giganotosaurus.

The dinosaur gave a deep thundering roar as it appeared and took in its surroundings. The first thing it saw, was the tree house that the man and his daughters live in, and upon seeing it he realised that nothing like it existed in the old days. That could only mean his plan worked. He had successfully deceived that pathetic human that called himself dinosaur king and now his rampage can continue. It was unfortunate that his female servants did not join him, but even so he was free to do what he does best.

But first he needs to figure out just where he is.

Luckily for him, that won't be much trouble with a little bit of extra help.

It did not take long for word to spread that a ship flying the Arendelle flag was approaching the kingdom, and Rapunzel, Cass and Eugene were quick to head down to the docks to meet its passengers. The princess for her part was bouncing with excitement, her cousins were here, the D-team was with them, and with any luck her dinosaur friend was among them. "Hehe relax blondie" Eugene laughed in good humour to his wife.

"I can't help it Eugene, I'm bursting at the seams" The blond replied giddily.

"Normally I would argue Eugene's point on mostly everything, but just this once I actually agree with him" Cassandra said

"Hey, what do you mean by 'just this once'?" Eugene went, giving the raven-haired woman a look

"Well, I could go into a list, but it would take all day" she said, returning his look with her own.

"Guys" They both looked to Rapunzel at the tone of voice she just used "Do. Not. Fight." She warned.

"Got it" They promptly replied.

Rapunzel gave a bright smile as she turned around, just in time to see the Arendelle ship docked, and the gang plank laid down.

Immediately afterwards a redheaded princess came charging down with a look of utter excitement "PUNZIE!" Anna squealed with her arms wide open

"ANNA!" Rapunzel cried back with equal enthusiasm as she met her cousin halfway, both of them wrapping their arms around each other and dancing in place, as they went on with getting reacquainted.

"Wow! She's…"

"Energetic" Eugene supplied for Cass, who had never met the cousins of his wife.

"Well, that's one word for it"

Meanwhile, coming down the ramp much more refined and calmly was the rest of the Arendelle company, with Elsa and Elliot leading the way arm in arm "Those two are like kids, honestly" Elliot commented to his wife.

"I know, but we're all our own people" Elsa replied, just as the pair reached the two girls as they broke their hug "It's so good to see you again Rapunzel" She greeted the blond princess.

"Hi Elsa!" She greeted back happily, bringing her into a hug.

Eugene, Elliot and Kristoff too greeted each other like mates "Been a while tough guy, mountain man" Eugene said to the other two men, clasping both of their hands as he used their respective nicknames.

"Eh, not too long I don't think, Ryder" Elliot replied with a friendly grin.

"Good to see you again Eugene" Kristoff greeted former outlaw, before noticing Cassandra right next to them "Who's this?" He asked.

"Friend of the family, I'd rather let Raps handle the proper introductions" she said as she moved over to join with the blond princess.

Elliot and Kristoff looked to each other "Raps?" They said simultaneously.

"I'll explain in a minute" Eugene reassured them, bringing both men to join the rest.

Soon the D-team came down the gangplank as well, the kids' main dinosaurs in their small forms right beside them as they greeted the Corona princess as well "It's great to see you again your highness" Rex said on the whole team's behalf with a kind smile.

"The pleasure's all mine, King Rex" Rapunzel replied as she gave a curtsy, one that the three dinosaur monarchs replied to with a bow "Did you bring some of your- "

BANG!

Everyone's attention immediately turned to the ship in alarm, seeing the crew frantically trying to open the large doors to the cargo hold. A voice then cried out desperately as the doors rattled again from whatever was crashing into them "Get me the FUCK!" Bang! "OFF 'A THIS!" Bang! "BOAT!" With a final clash the doors caved outwards, and out of it came a traumatised Torch who collapsed as soon as his feet touch land, the crowd moving out of the way as he sobbed dramatically "Ugh huh huh, I'm free…!"

Following behind the Saurophaganax was Killer and his gang, all of which not anywhere near as dramatic as Torch "It was not that bad, was it?" the Torvosaurus commented to the other Jurassic predator as the three came over to him.

"Hehe, wimp" Venom teased.

"TORCH!"

"Huh, what?" His head snapped up at the shout of that oh so familiar voice, his unbearable seasickness forgotten, and his mood soared as he laid his upon- "Rapunzel!?" He gasped as her arms flew around his maw.

"Oh, it's so good to see you!" She chattered happily as she hugged his face tightly.

"Yeah, you too!" He replied, before he gave a seasick induced hiccup, forcing the embrace to end as the princess looked to him in concern "Hate to be a pain, but is your hair good for seasickness?" He croaked.

"Oh, you poor thing" She replied in pity, giving the dinosaur a stroke on the face as the rest of the people came over.

"Yang, give me a hand" Killer then said to his mate, both predators coming over and used their bodies to lift the bigger carnivore to his feet, assisting him as the pack leader turned to the soon-to-be queen "Sorry for this your highness, he apparently doesn't deal with ship travel very well"

"Oh no, it's no bother" Rapunzel replied reassuringly to the Torvosaurus "I think he just needs time for his stomach to settle while we head over to the castle. Right this way" she said, leading everyone away

While the princess busied herself with greeting the newcomers, inside the castle was a bundle of activity in preparation for the honoured guests. At this time, King Frederic, his wife Arianna and the head advisor, Nigel, were overseeing final preparations for the arrival of said guests, going over every last detail before they enter the castle. "Your majesties, you know I never doubted the princess's judgement, but I must insist on alerting the guards to the potential security hazard" the advisor once again cautioned the two current monarchs for the second time today.

"Nigel, there is nothing to fear. We're talking about creatures that have put their lives on the line for the protection of our nieces' kingdom, and saved our daughters' life and one point" Arianna said to him calmly with a smile

But Nigel was not so easily placated "But my queen, surely you see the dangers that they could represent. I read the reports that some of these 'dinosaurs' are nearly half the size of the castle alone, and have appetites that are large enough to - "

That was when Frederic laid a hand on the advisor's shoulder "Old friend, you're working yourself up. We both understand your concerns, and I would be lying in telling I don't share those same notions" He first stated "But while you read the reports from the outside world, you haven't read what my niece Elsa sent in her letter. Some of them are to be feared, that is true, but the majority of them are beings of courage, honour and distinction, and if she, her sister and Rapunzel trust them, then I trust them too" He said next reasonably "Besides, the way she talked about the one called 'Torch' would have me thinking she had been friends with him forever" He then quickly added

"I understand that sire, but- "

"Nigel" He turned to see the queens deadpanned, yet slightly smiling face "Please just calm down"

Before the man could give a reply, a team of armed castle guardsman came around the corner, a look of surprise and fear on their faces "Your majesties, we just came from the battlements overlooking the town. There are several large creatures headed straight for the castle and they seemed to have taken the Princess and the visitors from Arendelle captive! We're mobilising the rest of the guards to respond!" He relayed to the current king and queen.

Frederick and Arianna, instead of worrying smiled at each other and gave a calming order to the panic-stricken guards "Easy men, there is nothing to fear. These creatures are not intruders that have taken my daughter as a prisoner, they are our guests" Frederic ordered.

Soon after, the pair along with Nigel and the confused guards all went outside to the courtyard and stood atop the stairs as they saw their daughter leading the entourage through the castle gates. Smiling still, the pair made sure the rest of their team were calmed before they descended the steps to exchange greetings. The first to come over to them were their nieces, who gave a smile and a curtsy as they approached "King Frederick, Queen Arianna" Anna spoke for them both.

"Oh, don't be like that Anna, I won't have you two bowing to your own Aunt and Uncle" Fredric replied in humour as he opened his arms, causing both young women to giggle as they and Arianna engaged in a group hug, though being careful with Elsa's midsection for (very) obvious reasons.

"Welcome back, you two" Arianna greeted them motherly as their embrace broke, the Coronan queen turning to see Elliot and Kristoff on approach as well "And to you two gents as well" she said as she bought her nephew in law into a hug as well.

"You're too kind, aunty" he said kindly as they pulled apart

"Your majesty" Kristoff bowed to the queen.

Following up behind were the men's animal partners, each of them calmly greeting the coronan monarchs, then came Olaf who greeted the pair with a warm hug each, before Rapunzel and Eugene came over to introduce the D-team and their dinosaurs "King Max, King Rex and Queen Zoe, these two are my parents, Queen Arianna and King Frederic, Mom, Dad, the dinosaur kings" The blond introduced the lot of 'em, having done the same for Cassandra earlier

"Welcome to our home, dinosaur kings" Frederic first greeted with a bow

"It's a true honour to finally meet you after everything our daughter and nieces have said about you" Arianna said with a smile as she curtsied.

"Please, the honour is all ours" Zoe replied to the older woman kindly "Your kingdom is absolutely beautiful".

"Second that" Max added for his girlfriend.

"Oh, you're too kind" Arianna responded with a small, charmed giggle, a hand over her mouth to try and hide it, before she and her husband looked up to see one dinosaur in particular, as he broke away from Killers gang to say hello himself "And you're Torch, correct?" She then asked the dinosaur.

The Saurophaganax grew a little shy at saying hi to the two human monarchs. It was one thing to befriend a princess of a foreign kingdom, it was quite another to leave a good impression on its current king and queen "Yes, that's me, your majesty. Your daughter's quite a character if you don't mind me saying" He spoke to the pair, hoping to Seikatsu that he was being as formal and respectful as he can be "I uh, I take it she told you about what happened in Arendelle, you know the day before she left?"

The king and queen both could tell that the dinosaur was anxious with talking to them, and so they decided to ease his nerves in their replies "All that she told us friend, is that you protected her and our nieces with your life. And for that, you will always have our gratitude" The queen spoke up gently first.

"Rapunzel also told us about your past, that you were used in experimentations and misguided by evil before. She gave us no reasons to doubt you, or the kind of being you truly are on the inside" Frederic confidently said.

Torch gave a sigh of relief as he slumped forward a bit and his tail drooped "Didn't we say there was nothing to worry about on the way here?" Killer said to the other Jurassic carnivore as he walked over, bowing respectively to the Corona monarchs as he walked by

"Hey, for all we know they could just be planning something nasty without us knowing" Venom teased.

Yang gave a disciplinary growl, shutting the piatnitzkysaurus up "Or, they could be genuine in their words, as any good king and queen should be" She told him, before picking him up by the tail, much to his embarrassment "I apologise for him your majesties, he was never the brains of this operation" She said to the human pair as she went to join her mate.

The Corona royal family and friends lead the visitors to the throne room. A large, spacious chamber that was so big that even someone as big as Brontikens would comfortably fit, where inside a large table had been prepared for a hearty meal, already decorated by the castle staff (suffice to say the dinosaur kings found old lady Crowley as… quite rude, actually), and all decked out with silver cutlery, pitches of drinks and all kinds of food items. The visitors from Arendelle and Sanjo City all had their fill, and moved on to the gardens in the castle grounds, which is where they began talks of a more serious note "My nieces spoke of you and your dinosaurs highly since the invasion of Arendelle was lifted, how you and your large friends seem to save lives everywhere you go. Tell us, is it true that your enemies command these 'dinosaurs' as well?" Frederic asked the dinosaur kings.

"That's right king Frederic, and they're very powerful and dangerous to boot. Some much more than others" Rex explained to Frederic.

"Such as?" Queen Arianna asked politely.

"Well, Brontikens for one, since he's absolutely massive and packs a right punch, Pyro for another cos he can breathe fire whenever he likes" Terry first listed, having been summoned in his small form along with the other main dinos "And as of a few months back, well… let's just say we've encountered some new players" He carried on, subtly hinting at the hybrids.

"I see" Frederic said in reply.

Before anyone else could say anything, Elsa abruptly sat up with a hand flying to her stomach and a gasp, catching everyone's attention with alarm "Whoa, Elsa, you, okay?" Elliot asked his wife worriedly, laying a hand on her wrist. "I-is it- "

"Elliot, it's okay" Elsa promptly calmed her husband, looking between him and her baby bump "It was just a kick, honestly" She reassured further.

The king of Arendelle sighed in relief, his potential heart attack soothing "A kick, of course, whew…" He then kneeled down and did the most adoring and amusing thing any father to be should do "Oh you really gave daddy a scare this time" He cooed in a goofy voice speaking to their child to be "Yes you did, mommy and daddy can't wait for you to come out and hi, no we can't"

While the mother to be looked at him lovingly, everyone else had mixture of looks from adoration and amusement from the Corona and Arendelle individuals, to the D-teams odd looks at Elliots actions. Max for his part just cringed at what he was doing "Elliot, we're right here you know" He reminded the older king, holding his head in his hands.

"Sorry?" Elliot snapped to look over them all, coming out of his stupor. And immediately his cheeks went red in embarrassment in quickly realising what he just did in front of everyone "Uh…" He started off awkwardly as he stood up "False alarm people, just a kick-n-nothing to see here, just…" He tried to wave off as Elsa stood up with a smile on her face

"Oh, Elliot don't be modest. It's not too long before we actually become parents" She spoke up with excitement towards the end.

"And besides" Olaf then took over, bringing everyone's attention over to him "It's said that babies can hear what people are saying by after eighteen weeks of pregnancy on the mother's behalf, and you, as the father, show that you are committed to raising it with love" He spoke aloud.

"What? That can't be right, can it?" Chomp uttered in surprise

"It's true" Arianna spoke up with a smile catching everyone's attention "When I was pregnant with Rapunzel, the first thing that Frederic would do in the morning is talk to her while she was in the womb, along with taking the reins of running the kingdom by himself. You remember that don't you honey?" She asked him

The king gave a hearty chuckle in fondness at the memory "Oh like it was only yesterday"

"Speaking of your daughter, where'd she go?" Zoe asked, not seeing a sign of her anywhere.

"Took your friend Torch for a tour of the city" Cassandra supplied for the dinosaur queen "I'm sure they'll be back soon enough"

"Well while we're on the subject" Max went "I got a question. Didn't you all say that she was a short hair brunette a while back?"

Eugene, who had been silently listening this whole time, perked up at this "I can help answer that question. And honestly, what happened was... really weird."

The soon to be queen was indeed multitasking of showing Torch around her kingdom saying hi to everyone who waved to her, the Saurophaganax for his part trying not to cause a panic with his fearsome appearance as they strolled through the city. So far Rapunzel had by now introduced Torch to those like the shoe cobbler Feldspar, and the old, rather mysterious blacksmith Xavier, both of which the Saurophaganax found to be interesting in their own ways. After which they just walked aimlessly, chatting like old friends after having a surprise visit from a group of four young girls, who decided to use his legs as obstacles for their game of tag, Laughing and giggling as they went away "You know, I'm surprised that the people don't seem too alarmed by me just strolling through town like this. I'd swear I'd hear at least one person scream by now, at least that Feldspar guy" He spoke in opinion

"Well, there are two reasons for that." Rapunzel spoke optimistically "One, no one has actually seen the bad side of dinosaurs here, and you're as pure as they come, in my mind" she said first, stroking a hand on his leg.

"I appreciate the confidence, but I'm not sure if I'm as pure as you might think" Torch replied "You haven't forgotten about my past, when I was, you know bad and all that"

The princess then looked to him with a firm look "You were tricked into helping a horrible man who used you, and got hurt and almost died in the process, that is not the same, got it?" She applied in a tone to match, refusing to let her friend berate himself.

He nodded quickly "hm hmm"

She then allowed a smile once again "Second of all, I may or may not have told the whole kingdom about the dinosaur kingdom on the other side of the world- "

The dinosaur snapped his head to princess as she said that "You did that?"

She looked up to him "Yeah what's wrong with that?"

"No nothing's wrong, it's just- "Torch cut himself off, his nose twitching and sniffing at a very unusual, yet very sweet and delicious scent "What's that smell?" he said, before heading off in the direction it was coming from.

Rapunzel however, knowing precisely where it was coming from, grew an uneasy smile, sharing a look with Pascal on her shoulder who gave her a squeak in return, before following after him.

The dinosaur followed the sweet scent for a short distance, coming upon a long line of children with their parents that was queuing outside of a specific shop. One with a large glass window that showed off some sort of dioramas and replicas made from sweets and chocolates, and had not one, but two signs over the door, that put together spelled out "Monty's Sweet Shop: Attila the Bun" Torch read out, before taking in another whiff of the sweet shop, getting a mix of all kinds of goodies as a result "Hmm" He said pleasantly at the smell.

"Found the children's favourite place in the whole city, I see" He turned to see the princess walking up to him as she spoke up, and took note that the smile on her face seem to have taken a turn "You know, this might surprise you to hear that, not all of Corona likes me" She admitted with a slight uneasy laugh.

"Who in their right mind wouldn't like you, you're awesome" Torch said

The soon to be queen walked over to the door, pardoning herself as jumped the line, and lo and behold the man on the counter was Coronas sweetest man, who was just giving some of the customers a batch of his partners tasty buns "Excuse me sir".

"Hello sweetie" Monty first said, not quite looking at her as he spoke so nicely "How can I help… you" His tone shifted to snidely as he then laid eyes on his least favourite person.

"Hey Monty" Rapunzel greeted friendly, "Sorry to bother you, I was just giving a tour to a new friend of mine in town when he just stumbled upon here" She explained, gesturing to the window.

Montgomery looked in the direction she pointed to, and his eyes widened in surprise at the dinosaur just looking at him "Oh, one of those giant reptiles you announced to the whole kingdom a while back." He realised, before turning back to the princess "And I don't suppose you've introduced him to your disregarding of traditions, have you?"

"Oh, come on Monty, we talked about this years ago now" Rapunzel reminded him "Besides, I thought we had an understanding these days" She implored, yet kept that smile as she knew what he was gonna say next.

"Oh, we do." Monty said, stepping to the front of the counter "And it's as I said years ago. Not everyone has to like everyone, your highness. And as much as you gave and sacrificed for this kingdom, which I'll always be grateful for, I still don't like you" he told her.

Rapunzel gave the old man a dirty look "Well, guess it's a good thing I still don't like you either, isn't it?" She bit back

"That's certainly one way of looking at it" Monty admitted

It was at that moment that the front door opened, and Torch's face stuck in as people in the line moved out of the way "What's going on?" The dinosaur asked, concern in his voice at the sight of the apparent argument.

Monty took on a look of shock at the giant dinosaur head in his shop, while Rapunzel gave a scoff, while waving a hand "Oh nothing to worry about Torch, just... catching up, so to speak" she said to the saurophaganax as she turned away.

Monty gave his own scoff "I suppose that's one way to describe this lovely conversation with you, your highness. Perhaps when you are crowned, you'll get a sense of common tradition" He snarked nastily.

Now, the princess didn't feel hurt or bothered by this as she was used to with her encounters with 'Uncle Monty' these days. Torch on the other hand, didn't like the man's tone with his friend in the slightest, giving a slight, angry growl. "Hey, I may be new here. But I won't tolerate folks insulting their future queen like that. Show some respect, chubby" He insulted.

At that insult, the sweetest guy in all of corona gasped in shock "Chubby? Me?" He asked first, before pointing to the dinosaur's face in front of him "Perhaps you could consider going on a diet after you look in the mirror" He threw back.

Torch's eyes widened in anger "Why you smart ass, son of a-"

Rapunzel stepped in front of him and used her hands and arms to push his face back through the door "Torch, let's go" She encouraged as they left, Monty giving an 'I'm watching you' gesture as they left his shop.

The pair stopped a few feet away from the sweet shop, Torch giving the place a dirty look "Well, he's full of sunshine and rainbows, isn't he?" He muttered.

"Honestly, I just try to avoid him these days. I don't want any more people to not like me aside from him" she told him, looking back just in time to see the old man waving a few of his customers fair well.

He did however see the pair again "Boooo!" He hollered before walking back inside.

Rapunzel rolled her eyes, as did Pascal who stayed quiet the whole time. Torch however gave a snarl, glaring daggers at the door "That's it!"

"Ah, Nononono!" The princess swiftly undid her hair, and threw the end of it around Torch's jaw, surprising him to stop his advance to possibly kill the guy "No!" She asserted with the dino.

Just then, more footsteps were heard, and the pair turned to see Max, his dinos and killers gang heading their way. Surprisingly with Elliot and Sugi at their side "Everything okay you two?" The king of Arendelle asked the pair

"We're fine Elliot" Rapunzel assured him "Where are you guys going?"

"We picked up a dinosaur signal out in the woods, so we're off to find it right now." Max informed her "But before we go, do you know a 'Lance' by any chance?"

"Lance Strongbow?" She asked, giving a smile at the replying nod. "Yeah, he and Eugene grew up together, I invited him and his family over for my coronation, among others"

"Well, your husband seemed pretty worried about the guy, saying that they were meant to show up about ten minutes ago" Elliot explained "He didn't. Your parents also want you back in the castle while we search for him. Just passing along the news" He continued to inform

"Aww" Was the princess's reply, looking down disappointedly "Sorry Torch"

"Hey, better safe than sorry" Torch easily replied "Besides, who said we can't continue it once the crisis is over with?"

Rapunzel gave a smile with a shrug as Pascal made a squeak in agreement "You're right, just gotta keep myself upbeat for later." She then looked back at the search team "Be careful out there, you guys, and please make sure Lance is okay"

"Heh heh, no sweat your highness" Max chuckled confidently in reply, before they all went their separate ways.

Unbeknownst to them all, someone had been watching them. Someone with a cloak over her crimson red dress and hiding her greyish black hair and watching his eyes that shined with an old desire.

Even though Maleficent had brought her back from the dead and gave her dinosaur summoning power in exchange for her service, Gothel had never given up her old need for the sun drops magic, still seeing it as too precious a power to waste. She knew however, her old daughter/captive had much more protection now then compared to when she was an infant when she stole her so many years ago, and knew that she had gained much wisdom since she had returned to Corona on the day of her death.

But Gothel had a smirk on her features as she watched her quarry walk back to the castle, the perfect plan in mind "Oh Rapunzel, darling... long ago you declared me the bad guy" She started softly, hardening her eyes in a glare, even though her smirk had not changed "That's fine... Let me show you how bad I really am..."

In her hand was the tringle Card for Bulldust, and another card of the same shape that contained someone or something else. "You know you talk to yourself, right?"

The old woman turned to see Sykes leaning on a nearby wall "And what might I ask you are doing here?"

He gave a shrug "Well, I had a feeling that once word got to you about this little exchange between royalty, I had a good authority that you might be out for a lil' bit of payback. And it looks like I was right" He gave a smirk that oozed in malice

Gothel allowed her own lips to curl up as she walked over to him "I suppose you got me then, which leaves just one question for you..." Quick as a flash, the tip of her dagger was a few inches from Sykes throat, ready to make him choke on his own blood with just a twitch. "Do you intend to help or not?" The tone of her voice went from pleasant to dangerous

The outlaw in response unholstered one of his revolvers and stuck the barrel to her forehead "If I wanted to kill you, I wouldn't do it in such a public place. Nor would I leave such a mess" He threatened back lowly. For a moment they just stood like that, weapons drawn. Before the pair gave a low sounding laugh, lowering their arms "Boss lady sent me to follow you in secret, and make sure you didn't get yourself killed. So, what exactly is your play here?" he asked her

Her cruel grin remained "Did you not suggest payback only a few moments ago?" She asked back coyly

Sykes held an arm out "After you"

Gothel then walked on into the crowd, Sykes following behind with a laugh.

It wasn't long for the search party to go over Corona's stone bridge into the forest and began to look for any sort of clue to the dinosaur's whereabouts. All the while the dinosaurs with the team began sniffing the air to try a pickup any sort of trace. Only problem was, nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary "Still nothing" Killer reported

"You'd think by now we'd see a footprint or picked up anything" Chomp chimed to Max "Yet so far, the biggest, most dangerous thing we've seen was that group of bunny rabbits we came across just minutes ago. And they just looked annoyed at us than anything else"

The brunette dinosaur king checked his bracer and saw that the dino detector was still active "Well nothing has changed with this. Elliot and Sugi are scouting ahead, hopefully they'll find something soon" he said. For some reason, there was something about this search that has him anxious, and he can't figure out what that is.

"I guess all we can do is just keep looking in the meantime" Terry spoke up, still sniffing the air along with Killer's gang, and still picked up nothing "It's weird though. Normally by now one of us would have some kind of scent"

Max was about to reply, when he just saw the king of Arendelle and his faithful companion approaching them "There you are Elliot, any luck?"

Elliot dismounted Sugi, before he answered the boy's question "I found something that may give us a clue. But I can't promise that you'll like it" Elliot reported

The two HIghfell natives led the rest of the search team down a hillock, and onto a wide pathway. At first there was nothing, but soon that turned into something rather unexpected. By a large tree was what looked like the remnants of a wagon, utterly smashed to be and its contents spilled all over the floor. What made Max's lunch almost take the scenic route to his throat, was something he absolutely didn't expect. "Is that a horse leg?"

Elliot went up to examine it, and it was indeed a shredded horse leg, and looking like it had been ripped off and then nearly bitten in clawed in half "Sadly yes. Poor soul" he murmured as he picked it up, Sugi coming over to take a sniff, growling at the unfamiliar scent she picked up

The dinosaurs were also troubled by this, but Chomp was able to get their minds off it once he saw something else "I found tracks!" He called over

"No, I found tracks!" Terry spoke up

Leading in two opposite directions away from the scene, were two sets of several footprints. One set were three separate lines of human tracks, the other set of tracks, however, had the large three-toed set of a large theropod dinosaur.

And alarmingly, a dried-up trail of blood was on that same path.

With a shared look, both Max and Elliot began following the human tracks, which were headed east "You take that lot, we'll take these ones" Max quickly ordered the dinos as they rushed off, with Sugi close behind. If worse comes to worst, at least Elliot could utilise his dragon form to fight.

The trio of humans and beast followed their chosen path of footprints for about a mile or so, having Sugi sniff along the way to make sure they were still going the in the right direction, until they came to a stop "Uh, sorry?" Max asked at what was now before them

"The tracks just end" Elliot observed, as by now the track had indeed just stopped, much to the pair's confusion as Elliot kneeled to take a feel of them "They're fresh though... we should be right on top of them" he said, looking around their surroundings, yet seeing nothing but trees and bushes for miles

Just then, they heard a sound as if a twig snapped with a whimper of a sort quickly following, causing the three to tense up with a growl from their sabretooth friend. Then they heard what sounded like hushing sounds... from above them.

The three looked up into one of the nearby trees, and they suddenly found themselves sharing eye contact with a rather precarious sight. On a thick looking branch was a large, beefy black man with a bald head, a trimmed beard and moustache wearing a reddish-white shirt under a maroon-coloured jacket, and complete with black trousers and boots, with arm cuff and a belt of the same colour. Right now, that man seemed to be using his body as a shield, with his arms stretched out over two small girls that would seem to rival Max in age, their backs against the main trunk as the man used his arms to protect them from something. "I think we found our missing guests" Max said, before the three of them walked over.

"Hey. You three up in the tree, you alright?" Elliot called up, catching their attention.

"Is it gone? Please tell us it's gone" The man called down, almost begging and sounding like he wet his pants

Elliot and his team looked to each other in confusion "What are you talking about?" Max then spoke up

The two girls peaked over to the boy in surprise of his presence as their father carried on "Is, it, gone yet?"

"Yes, it's gone, what is it exactly?" Elliot went on

"A big lizard! Biggest thing we ever saw, big and nasty!" The man in the tree described shakily

"Sounds like a dinosaur if that's what you're telling us" Max went on

"Absolutely no idea what that is. All we saw was a monster with a tail as long a tree, and a huge head with massive, pointy teeth, it ate our horse, destroyed our wagon and chased us over here!"

Elliot then went on with an assumption with what Eugene told them "You must be Lance"

"Yeah, that's me alright" Lance nodded, before gesturing to the girls "These two are my adopted daughters, Keira and Catalina"

"You two, okay?" Elliot asked kindly, to which the girls gave a shaky nod as they still trembled "Good, now, come on down so we can get you to the castle" He then told them kindly.

"No way! Not until you're positive that thing's nowhere close to us!" Keira pretty much demanded, though the fear in her voice was obvious to hear.

"Not to mention those little ones too!" The other girl, Catalina added, with much more fright in her tone.

"What little ones?" Max asked them.

His question was soon answered by a dinosaur's shriek, a sudden sound that made all eyes go in the direction where it came from. Sugi gave a wary growl, Max readied the card for his dino blade and Elliot brought his sentient sword Aangra from her scabbard on his back, twirling the enchanted weapon.

Up in the tree's Kiera and Catalina could be seen shaking like leaves, unbridled terror coursing through their veins behind their equally scared father. "Oh no" The redheaded girl whimpered as terrified tears came to her eyes.

The trio on the ground continued to scan the trees around them, tensed up for trouble.

And soon enough, the bushes ahead of them gave a rustle... and slowly, in a stalking like fashion a dinosaur slowly approached them from the think vegetation. The animal in question, unlike every other dinosaur the D-team had encountered, was covered in a coat of lava red feathers that was lined with a greyish blue on the underside of its arms and around the edge of its fanned tail, a nasty, featherless head (the top of which sporting a feathered crown), a pair of long arms with three dastardly claws, and sporting a raptor sickle claw on each of its two feet.

Elliot and Sugi tensed more in their stances as Max identified the raptor in front of them in his head, now preparing for a worst-case scenario.

That was when though, that they saw something that made Max take a step back, and Elliot and Sugi hesitate

Coming from the bushes that the dinosaur just came out from, not one, not two, but four more raptors slowly prowled into the open. These new raptors were featherless, each as big as a deinonychus, possessing a stouter head and all in various colourations. One was a pale grey all over, with lines of black that stretched to either side of its back, one had a tiger-like colouration with a dark brownish orange with black stripes, the final two each had a reddish-brown colour, with patterns of grey for the third raptor, and a darker, chocolate brown for the fourth.

And all five of these raptors?

Well, they had their eye set on fresh kills, as the feathered raptor gave a shriek, flashing its teeth as it pounced!

Max screamed just as an arm yanked him out of the way as Sugi leapt and intercepted the would-be killer mid pounce, roaring as she threw it to the ground. That was when two of the other four raptors attacked, the pale one and the tiger akin one ganging up on the highfell feline as they charged and slashed at her, leaving painful scratches on her fur as she snarled in pain, trying to fight back with paw swipes.

"Hang on, Sugi!" Elliot called out to her, making sure Max was safe, before rushing in with Aangra humming in her mystical energy. He gave a grunt as he through the sword, the ancient draconic blade coming to life, flying in like a bullet and hitting the first one in the head with the flat side of her blade end, and promptly leaving a scar under the right eye of the other one, both coiling back from the stinging sensations as the sword floated around.

The other two raptors gave a shriek and were ready to attack, when suddenly a deep roar caught their attention, both turning just in time to see Killer barrel over to them, grab them both in his mouth and throw the pair into a tree. Not enough force to kill them, but just enough to knock the wind outta them. Anger in their eyes they saw the Torvosaurus give another warning roar.

"Killer!" Only to then have his attention over to Max as he ran over to him "Where's everyone else?" he asked as he summoned his dino blade

"We split up aways back following our set of footprints, they'll be here" He reassured before turning just in time to see the fathered raptor leap onto his face, scratching and biting "Get, off!" He growled as he shook his head about.

As this all went down, Kiera, Catalina and Lance watched on, mixed looks of fear, amazement and bewilderment.

On and on, the two raptors slashed at Killers face, the Torvosaurus roaring with mild pain and frustration as he still shook himself. Just then though, another shriek was heard, and Venom straight up body slammed the pair off his alpha "Hey!" He called over mockingly, standing fearlessly as the two screeched at the Piatnitzkysaurus in anger "Why don't you pick on someone not your size!?" He goaded, just as Chomp, Terry and Yang all approached from behind, the latter two either roaring or snapping their jaws.

Seeing as how they were now outgunned by all these large dinosaurs, the red feathered raptor gave a caw, and together they dashed off into the woods.

"Bunch of assholes" Terry grumbled as they watched the raptors scurry away.

Max was about to add his thought, before he spotted two other raptors-one with blueish grey feathers, the other yellow-in alarm "Back there!" The boy shouted, causing the dinosaurs to turn just in time to see them dash across the bridge into Corona with a screech each.

Max and Elliot watched in worry before bringing his dino bracer to his lips "Rex, Zoe! There's a mixed pack of Atrociraptors and Pyroraptors in the woods. Two of them just ran across the bridge and are headed for the castle, we'll try to hold the rest out here!"

In the throne room of castle of Corona itself. "Quickly! Secure the doors!" Eugene ordered the guards in the room, having overheard the warning from Rex's bracer, pulling out a sword as all of those who could fight back, armed themselves and braced.

Just as two of the guards (Stan and Pete) was about to lock the main door into the throne room, it suddenly caved it as the two raptors crashed through it and bulldozed the men, knocking them down. Chaos followed as they worked in cohesion, one raptor making mock lunges at those who tried to go on offence, only to faint and allow the other to go in for a knockout, or worse-as what nearly happened to Cass-a kill.

The blue raptor was about to execute another faint attack, only to swiftly move as he saw a frying pan nearly bonk him on the head, turning to snarl at the offender "Just for the record, I've swatted flies much bigger than you" She taunted the feathered raptor, her faithful pan held high in preparation for another strike.

The raptor responded with a shriek, flashing his teeth as well, causing the princess to back up nervously at the creature's fearful show. Just as it gave a leap, a specific white horse with a near golden main body slammed the raptor into the wall, the horse holding a sword in its mouth as he gave a snort "Thanks Maximus!" The stallion gave a short whinny at Rapunzel's words.

Eventually, the two raptors decided to try their luck with Torch, bypassing the humans and horse they gave a powerful leap onto the Saurophaganax "Hey now, what gives!?" He exclaimed indignantly, shaking his body and near bucking to dislodge the pair "Get off me!"

"Help's coming, Torch!" Zoe called out

"DINO SLASH! PARASAUROLOPHUS, BLOOM!"

Once Paris was at full size, she gave a sonic cry from her crest, forcing the yellow raptor off the Jurassic carnivore as it gave a pain screech. The blue Pyroraptor was about to switch target onto the Parasaurolophus, only to duck as an arrow narrowly missed its head, giving a deadly hiss as it turned to Cassandra with a bow and arrow in hand "Haven't had a time like this in a long while... kinda miss it really" She mused to herself, before letting another arrow fly.

The pyroraptor leapt off Torch, dodging the second arrow as it landed next to the yellow one who had now recovered from the Paris's attack, now facing an angry collection of faces. Elsa who was, surprisingly, left alone, made her way to the front and coated her hands in frost, created a barricade of ice-made spikes between them "Get out. Now!" She warned lowly, in a very no-nonsense tone.

The duo of Pyroraptors each gave a low hiss, flexing claws and flashing teeth. But seeing as they were now out gunned by two much larger dinosaurs, they mentally agreed to withdraw, rushing out of the throne room doors... back to their alpha.

With the danger gone the group dropped their guarded stances, half of them sighing in relief "Oh man, that was way too close for my liking..." Eugene couldn't help say out loud "Is everyone okay?" he asked the group

"Couple of scratches here and there, but I'll live" Torch said, giving himself a shake to try and remove the stinging sensation of his injuries

Elsa, with a hand of her belly, had yet to move from where she saw the Pyroraptor exit from, a bad feeling coiling in her gut. She still stood in the same spot as Rapunzel and Anna walk over to her, Cassandra close behind. "Are you okay, sis?" Anna asked her, her hand resting on her shoulder.

The blond turned to her and covered her sister's hand with her own "I'm fine... I just, have a bad feeling about this"

"You're not the only one" The four women turned to see Rex and Zoe walking over to them, the latter being the one who spoke "Those were Pyroraptors we just encountered, very powerful raptors, and especially dangerous in packs."

"And there would usually be a lot more than just two" Rex pointed out as he took over "Those Atrociraptors Max mentioned in his warning must be the rest of their pack. But there is something about this that doesn't sit right us..."

"Either way, one thing is obviously clear" Cassandra piped up, sliding her sword back into its scabbard "We've got a serious problem on our hands"

"Hey guys!" Olaf suddenly cried out.

All in the room suddenly turned to the snowman, who shockingly, had appeared to take quite the mauling from the raptors "Um, not sure how to explain this, but doesn't a severe number of impalements, slashes and bite marks lead to death by shock and massive loss of blood?" He asked

Elsa, as much as she loved the little snowman, couldn't help but give a facepalm, as Anna and Rapunzel gave an amused huff with a smile.

None of them noticed however, that another predator or two had found the right time to strike.

Back in the forest with the search team and their new additions "So, there's a whole lot more of you, out there?" Lance had to ask

"Yes, and please don't piss your pants, most of us aren't like the ones that attacked you" Terry – now back in his small form alongside Chomp – said with a slight roll of his eyes. Honestly could this wimp relax a little bit?

"Thanks Rex, we'll keep an eye out" Max said into his bracer, before cutting the connection. "Okay, Rex and the others manage to drive the two raptors out of the kingdom, away from any civilians"

"So I guess it's up to us to round them out" Chomp replied "Oh yeah, us big slow pokes try to round up lightning-fast raptors like cattle" he continued sarcastically.

"Uhh hello, fast moving small fry at your service" Venom asked offendedly to the triceratops

"I mean as in there's only one of you, and there's seven of them" He retorted

"Ouch man" The Piatnitzkysaurus bit back

Max then looked down at his bracer again, and brought up the map, seeing the dinosaur detector still going off. "Wait a minute..." That was when he noticed something as the map zoomed in "There's not just the seven of them."

"More dinosaurs?" Killer asked for the whole group

"Just one, but that's not the weird part..." the young king trailed off

That was when Terry spoke up again "Would that weird thing be that the bracer is telling you that signal says that it's right behind you?" he asked as he and Chomp tensed up

Max looked up at his T-rex partner "Yeah, why...?" he almost hesitated to ask

"Well, it's like this buddy... DOWN!"

Max ducked just in time to avoid having his upper torso being cleaved in two by a giant head of pointy teeth, the boy scrambling away as the huge body of the giganotosaurus stomped out of his hiding place with a great roar "Woah!"

"Max!" Elliot called out.

The boy got up and made a run for it just in time to avoid another lunge by the predator, and he in turn got cut off by Killer roaring and biting him in the neck as they entered a power struggle. "There!" Max turned to see the humans of the team coming over to him once he got to a safe distance "That's the beast that attacked us!" Catalina told him fearfully at the sight of the size difference between the two fire types

"That's a giganotosaurus, one of the largest predatory dinosaurs ever discovered" Max told them "You guys stay back, we'll deal with this." He then said before returning Chomp and Terry to their cards.

The Giganotosaurus gave am annoyed roar at the struggle this new, unfamiliar and pitiful theropod had given him, so he suddenly ceased the struggle and stepped aside and allowed his opponent to suddenly fly forward and crash down onto the ground. He then gave savage head swing at a charging yang and sent her packing as well, before sighting his original quarry and gave off a glow.

Elliot looked up just in time to see the dinosaur charge up a fire canon and fire it right at them. "WATCH OUT KIDS!" He yelled out, quickly bringing out Aangra and gave a swing just as the fire ball struck. The magic in the blade had just enough power to prevent the humans from being killed , but it still packed enough force to send them all sailing over the top of the trees.

Killers gang watched helplessly as they disappeared from sight. "King Max. No!" Yang called out as she recovered from her earlier beating.

The Piatnitskysaurus of the group gave deadly growl as he turned back around to the Giganotosaurus. "You'll pay for that one!" He swore as he readied his poisonous breath for battle.

The bigger carnivore tensed himself for another scrap, but then his eyes met the likes of the trio before him. It was then he saw that they were not like others he had killed in the past. These were strong, battle hardened... killers... like him.

He had only seen such eyes in very few others. Those that made them superior to the rest. Those that tale what they want without fear of consequences.

A new choice made he gave out a roar that was different from his usual one. Not a roar of battle, but one of greetings... "[You're like me]" He said in their native language, though to human it would sound like growling.

"What?" Killer asked in confusion.

"[You are like us. Strong. Hardened by hardship... dinosaur killers.]" The giga replied ominously.

The heroes dinosaurs at this had a bad feeling entering their guts "Us?" Yang asked next.

The Giganotosaurus then turned and let out another roar, one that was replied by a multitude of shrieks and caws.

Killer, Yang and Venom then suddenly found themselves surrounded by the Atrociraptor and Pyroraptor pack, four of the former and three of the latter, numbering seven in total. They all hissed lowly and prowled around the group like sharks around a school of fish, each Raptor flexing their claws and gnashing their teeth "I have a bad feeling about this" Venom commented.

"[This is a ceremony. A welcome for our new pack mates]" The Giganotosaurus replied with no small hint of pride.

The trio then a turned swiftly to him again.

"[Listen to me brothers and sister, we and you are alike in so many ways.]" He began "[Each of us all have relished in the slaughtering of dinosaurs everywhere. Felt the texture of their flesh on our teeth, tasted the taste of their blood on our tongues, and the carnage... oh the glory of those blood baths]"

The more he talked, the more the gangs shared opinion raised as the raptors around them shrieked in praise

"[Now we are in a new world, one with new opportunities for slaughter and culling of the weak. Those among us today are among the strong, who see the also called "dinosaur kings" for the hapless whelps they always have been. Now we offer you three a place at our side, if you join us, our strength shall bring about a new golden age. One that shall be our to rule and devour as we see fit!]" He finished his speech as he then asked one final question to the three "[What say you, brothers and sister...?]" He asked them.

For a moment or more there was silence, as if the jurassic pack was considering the words of this zealot. That was when killer stepped forward "We say... that you can screw off and die in a pit" The Torvosaurus snarled almost hatefully.

This made the Giganotosaurus and his raptor lackeys blink in surprise. "[What?]"

"You shared your story, here's ours" Killer began "We have shed dinosaur blood, that is true. However we did not out of sick pleasure, or a lust for power. We did it out of survival, plain and simple."

Yang then stepped up to her mate "The time we come from wasn't like the greener times of the cretaceous period you come from. The Jurassic was little more than an endless desert, where food and means of survival was hard to come by. And every time we did, all I could think about were the lives we had ruined and taken" She said to him with great conviction, and no small amount of shame towards the end.

Even Venom stepped up in support of his pack mates "I normally like a hunt as well as the next predator, sure the thrill of doing so gets you going, and your blood kicks into overdrive" He then shared a look with Killer and Yang, who gave him looks of pride at what he was about to say next "But the way we see it. The way anyone normal would see it. It's absolute sickos like you that would turn the world we live in into a chop shop of the worst kind" He hissed.

By this point, the Atrociraptors and Pyroraptors were all hissing with new aggression, all tensing themselves to pounce. "[You fools...]" The giga spat through a snarl, giving off almost thundering footsteps as he and Killer began to pace around "[You would resign yourselves to mediocrity by siding with the weak... you would reduce yourselves to live as insignificant lap dogs?]"

"Lap dogs?" Killer replied in mock offence, taking joy out of the fact that his packs defiance was pissing this off "Even if our current way of living was like that, it's far more preferable then to living a life of senseless murder. In our situation at the time, we had no choice if we wanted to live. It was never an action we enjoyed" The glare in his eye then turned murderous "But if you can so casually slaughter innocents wherever you go... then permission from the Dinosaur Kings that we serve or not, I for one would revel in killing you, if only to bring justice for those you have hurt"

"As would I" Yang spoke up resolutely.

"I call dibs on the fucker's throat" Venom added with a hiss at the giga.

He in turned replied with a gurgling snarl, one full of murder and promised pain, glaring at Killer "[Then may your death send a message to those who reject my offer, just like those who tried to stop me in the past. I'll be sure to make it slow... make it so, that you'll scream...]"

Killer held no fear as he roared defiantly at the giganotosaurus "You won't live long enough to try it!" He swore before he charged as they met in a headlock.

As all of this went on, the blast wave of the giga's fire canon sent the rest of the team flying, luckily not too far away as they all came down in another section of the forest, though all of them did have the wind knocked out of them as they landed in either tall grass or bushes.

"Ugh..." Max was the first to slowly recover, slowly raising himself up and rubbing the back of his head "Are you guys, okay?"

"We'll be fine" Kiera replied as helped her sister up "But where's our dad?" She then asked worriedly

"Not to worry girls!" The three kids looked up, to see a rather humorous sight of Lance being hanged in a tree branch by the belt of his trousers. "Uh... just, hanging..." He continued embarrassingly

His daughters sighed in relief with a smile each, although Max didn't look so sure "Is, he okay?" He asked them

"Oh yeah, he gets into messes like that all the time" Kiera told the boy with a slight giggle.

Catalina was about add on to that, when she noticed that the only other grown up among them was missing "Hey, where's your friend?" She asked worriedly

Max then looked about "Elliot's not here?" He did not want to report back to Elsa with the news of her husband being missing.

Just then, something made a splash, and all three kids turned to see a very angry someone stomping and splashing out of the nearby pond "What the hell in-! *Cough* *Cough* *Cough* What in Helheim's name is a monster like that doing in the woods!?" He climbs out on to dry land, very, very soaked "By Hraesvelgr herself! I'll-I'll-!" He patted himself over, having noticed all his throwing knives had been lost, along with his tomahawk, before noticing the ring that contained Srepnaa'r was still on him, promptly bringing out the spear after, and held it tightly "I'll turn him into a dino kebab!"

"Elliot!"

He paused in his raving "Hm?" and quickly turned to see Max who had called out to him, the boy running over to him.

"Are you okay?"

The dragon shapeshifter gave a sigh as he made his spear vanish "I'll be fine" He muttered, before shaking his arms and hands "That arsehole made me lose the most of my gear"

Max gave a short laugh, before remembering something that made his humour stop "Wait, Killer's gang! They need help!"

Yang growled in pain as the giganotosaurus grabbed her by the neck with his teeth and threw her to the ground and turned to in time to swat Killer away with a quick swipe of his tail. The Torvosaurus however after getting up quickly responded by glowing red as fire covered his mouth, stomping a foot into the ground and let loose a magma blaster.

The force of the attack was enough to send the giganotosaurus away from his mate by a few paces, but not enough power to knock him back into his card as he soon recovered "[Such power. Wasted on you!]" He roared savagely as he and Killer engaged once more, the former using his size and weight advantage to clamp onto the smaller carnivore's neck and send his body to the ground. He then stamped a foot onto his neck, chocking him as he gave another roar "[Attack my minions!]"

At this moment, the seven-member raptor pack attack, the Pyroraptors engaging in a duel with Venom as Yang was left to try and fend off the Atrociraptors. In the formers case it was slightly easier as Venom was about the same size, speed and weight of the raptors that tried to attack him, as he was able to dodge most of their attacks, but because they had the advantage of numbers, they were able to land glancing blows with their claws down his flanks, and because they were so fast he couldn't get the chance to utilize his poison breath.

For Yang though, despite her greater size and strength, she found herself on the back foot. The Atrociraptors were able to get in and pounce on her flanks time and time again, the Yangchuanosaurus emitting bellowing roars of pain as she felt one of them stab her sickle claws in "Ahh!" She screamed

"Yang!" Killer called out in worry for his mate, his struggling for freedom now doubled.

That was when the Giganotosaurus took his foot off Killers neck, but then promptly bite down into the point where his skull connects to his neck "[Normally I make you watch as your friends die a bloody death, brother]" He said, before he then lifting him up, and forced his head to crash into a nearby boulder with enough force to crack it "[But for your defiance toward me, I will crunch your skull first!]" He promised with a roar.

Just as he was about to apply the needed pressure to follow through on this threat, a different roar filled the air, one that packed enough volume to bring the battle to a pause. Before the giga could blink a large, winged form rammed the giant murdering predator away from the Torvosaurus, making him roll a pace or too before straightening up to full height in time to see the newcomer land before him.

With his newly returned dragon form, Elliot unleashed another draconic roar at the bigger reptile, one that the enemy returned in equal force as his raptor pack mates regrouped with him.

Killer panted heavily as he tried to stand up, but couldn't due to dizziness and his new formed head injury "Killer! Killer!" He looked to see Max rushing over to him, laying his hands on his heads "Are you okay?"

He gave a huff "I've been better" he replied honestly, casting a glaring hateful eye at the one who did this to him "But that guy needs a seriously painful lesson"

There was something in the Torvosaur's tone suggested that Max missed something but decided not to overly concern himself with for now "We'll give it to him. I'm bringing back to your card"

"Don't!" His eyes widened in surprise as he looked to Killer again "I wanna be sure that he and his lackeys go down. Let me watch at least"

Now Max definitely knew something was up. But he also knew that now wasn't the time as he turned to the battle "Alright, but don't move with that injury otherwise I'm all three of you back"

"Got it"

"DINO SLASH! GO TRICERATOPS, ROAR! FLAME UP, TYRANOSAURUS!"

It a yellow and red light respectively, Chomp and Terry quickly formed into their full sizes on either side of Elliot as Yang and Venom joined up with them, the two herd brothers giving off a roar at the Giganotosaurus as the raptors shrieked back. Now though their leader was cautious. The and Triceratops he and his pack could handle, it was this unfamiliar reptile that attacked him before. What he knew straight away was that it was no dinosaur, but some kind of different creature altogether.

He then thought up a plan though as he gave off a red glow, roaring and charging in with thundering footsteps as Elliot launched into an attack himself "No Elliot, wait!" Terry called out in warning

The dragon and dinosaur met in a struggle and the former gave a roar of pain at the feeling of teeth in his neck. The giganotosaurus then began to spin with the dragon still in his jaws, gradually picking up speed until he let go and sent him flying into the other big dinos, making them all crash into a heap near killer.

Lance screamed like a girl at such a show of power that he and his daughters saw just now "Gah! Don't give up team, get up!" Max called over desperately.

"It's okay Max, we're not out yet" Yang reassured him as the five of them got up, the former making sure to stand over her injured mate protectively.

"Yeah, that just made us mad!" Terry proclaimed before making a mighty roar.

"Then let's have at 'em!" Max replied before summoning a move card "Ultimate Fire!"

Terry covered himself in flames with another roar and charged at the giga. But just before he made contact the Atrociraptors and Pyroraptors that were standing at his side suddenly glowed very brightly, blinding the just quickly enough to throw off his focus, before all seven of them suddenly leapt and struck their feet out with enough force to send him packing!

Terry ended up landing just in front of his teammates "Bro!" Chomp ran over to help Terry up

"I'm good" He replied, before looking back at the opponents "You guys saw that move though, right?"

"Yeah we did" Max called up as he made his way over to his partners "I think Spectre told me that was the move sickle hamper"

"A counter move, huh?" Elliot spoke as he too walked over. "That gives me an idea" he told them all

The giganotosaurus suddenly made a roar, causing all to turn just in time to see him ready another fire canon before firing. "Oh no!" Kiera and Catalina called out in fright

"Get behind me! hurry!" The dinosaurs and Max quickly got behind the young dragon, who flared out his wings and brought them in front of him forming a sort of natural shield. This time when the fire ball hit, his wings were just about able to withhold the blast wave, though he still had to dig his claws in to prevent him from being pushed back, though luckily the fire from the attack had no effect on his dragon skin.

"Ohh boy, am I glad to have dragons on our side!" Terry spoke up in relief "Now blast him with your own fire, pal!"

"I can't, you idiot!"

The good guys turned and looked to him in surprise to that "Wha? What do you mean 'you can't'"? Max, Chomp and Terry asked in frustration and confusion.

He turned to them and spoke his defence "All dragons from the day they are born are taught how to breathe fire from their parents. I never had those lessons growing up!"

"What!?" All five of them exclaimed "Well, you said you had a plan, right?" Max asked

"I do. As soon as I give the word, hit them with everything you got!" He told them, before he charged in with a roar.

"Elliot! Wait!" Max called out as he suddenly realised what his plan might be.

The youngest of the dragons gave a flap of his wings as he landed a clawed swipe across the gigas face, that that the dinosaur returned by biting him in the offending limb and throwing him across the floor.

Just as the giganotosaurus lunged again though, Elliot quickly got up and clawed onto the carnosaurs' back and pinned him to the ground with a roar, using no small amount of his might to hold him down as he struggled and wriggled for freedom with snapping jaws, and just as planed the raptors gave off their glow and punced on him, biting and scratching "They're distracted, hit him now!" he roared

The boy of course didn't want to do it out of fear of hurting Elliot, but with the situation he and the other dinos felt like they had no choice. "Let's finish this, guys!" Max readied a lightning and fire move card from his gadget "Chomp, Terry, it's all on you!" He called out as he swiped the cards

First Chomp charged forward with a yellow glow "Thunder Bazooka!" He yelled, before leaping and performing the twisting lighting projectile.

Then with a roar from Terry "Dragon Storm!" the covered himself in a fire bodied dragon and took to the air. The pair joined up and lighting from Chomp's attack mixed with Terry's fire, coating the scorching beast with electricity. Together they dived bombed down on them, and faster than a bullet they struck true, sending their targets and Elliot along the ground and through a few trees as the dragon gave a pained bellow. Soon though the rolling and crashing stoped.

And the giganotosaurus, more dead than alive glowed and returned to his card, taking his equally downed raptor minions with him.

"Yes, we got them, we got 'em all!" Chomp heaved and cheered with relief, panting hard along with the rest of the team

"Good riddance, brother" Killer managed to growl through his wounds

"You said it" Yang agreed

Max brought Killers gang all back to their cards, and then turned to look and run over to their draconian ally, who took a good brunt of the attack himself "You alright, Elliot?" He asked in concern as he struggled to his feet

"I'll be fine" Was the dragons panting reply, turning to him with a small smile "Good job, dinosaur king"

Max grinned at the friendly jab, before bringing up his dino bracer "Rex, Zoe, mission accomplished, we stopped the-"

"Max! Where are you!?" Zoe frantically replied, cutting off her boyfriend

The boys' eyes widened at the panicked voice of his girlfriend "Zoe, we're still in the woods but we're not far from the city, what's going on?" he asked worriedly

"You gotta get back here right now, Gothel and Sykes are here, and they brought Bulldust, Scowler and a new hybrid with water and wind abilities! Repeat, come back no-!" The connection suddenly cut off as the screen on the bracer went to static, halting Zoe's call for help.

Max rapidly taped the controls, desperate to get the signal back "Zoe? Zoe, can you hear me!?" He shouted.

Elliot had heard everything, and his goldenrod eyes were widened in absolute dread "Elsa...!" He gasped, turning to the direction of the kingdom, seeing the castle like a beacon "No!" He roared with worry, giving a huge beat of his wings and flying off as fast as he can.

The team all watched with equal worry, Sugi quickly walking up to Max and encouraged the teen onto her back, "Let's go, team!" The boy called out to the others, quickly mounting up and gripped the felines harness before they, Chomp and Terry began to run, Lance and his daughters secured on Triceratops back.

All the while, completely forgetting about the giganotosaurus's card and move cards.

When the away team had reached the city, the worried looking crowd quickly urged them towards the castle. Upon rushing through it broken gate arch, they were quick to notice the many bodies of guards that led up to the palace doors, some of which thankfully were only knocked out, while those that were conscious and fit assisted the wounded.

Worryingly, there were those among the golden armoured guards that were not so fortunate, as evident by more than a few that had their decapitated heads crushed into fleshy pastes. "Oh my god" Max muttered in a horrified manner, closing his eyes and blocking his nose at the stench of death in an attempt to hold in his vomit roaring up to the surface

"Papa, what could've happened here?" Catalina asked with great horror, gripping onto Lance's shirt for comfort as he brought his arms around both of his daughters

All that the ex-thief could do was give a helpless shake of his head "I don't know"

Elliot, not seeing any sign of his wife let out a great roar, one that held no small amount of desperation "Come on Elsa, where are you...?" He asked in near panic

"Elliot? Are you out there!?"

All present turned to the castle doors, just as some smog cleared up. Where there they could see a giant barrier of thick ice, its creator pressing her hands against it and looking through it.

If the dragon wasn't already filled with relief at hearing the call of his wife, the sight of her would've made him overflow "My wife..." he said breathlessly, quickly transforming back into his human form and charged up the steps, placing his hands on the ice as well "Elsa, talk to me, are you okay!?"

Elsa quickly evaporated the wall between them and took his hand in hers "This way!" She told him, leading him through the doors, and together the pair and the rest of Max's team navigated towards the throne room, while the dinosaurs carefully made sure not to break anything along the way. When they reached it, they all thought they had stepped into a massacre.

The throne room was utterly tarnished. The tables were all split or smashed into little pieces, the walls all had giant cracks or holes in them, rubble lined the floor, even the thrones at the end of the room were given no quarter. As for its occupants, Anna, Kristoff, Sven, Arianna and Frederic all helped tending to a heavily injured Rex, Zoe and Cassandra, all of which sported heavy bruising, the oldest of which sported a black eye, and Zoe couldn't even stand.

And that, much to Max's horror, was because her head was bleeding, badly at that. And unconscious. "Zoe!" the boy wasted no time rushing to his girlfriend's side, kneeling next to her and placed his hands on her nearest arm and shoulder. He looked to Anna who was helping the nurse tending to the pinkette "Is she-"

"She's still alive. We've managed to stabilise her" The princess told him straight away, knowing what he was about to ask, before casting a sorrowful look to the girl "But, she's in no condition to move right now"

"She and Paris got taken down before she could call for help" They turned to see Rex limping their way, and quickly Max got up to see to him before he stumbled over

Very close by, Eugene was tending to Cass, gently dabbing a cool damp cloth on her black eye "Since when were you so good at treatment, doc?" the woman asked, with only a hint of her usual snark.

"I did live the life of a thief once, Cass" he replied "This wouldn't be the first blackeye I had to fix"

"Me neither" They both turned to see Lance briskly coming towards them

"Lance!"

"Here to help, buddy" He bluntly replied

Elliot and Elsa shared greatly worried looks before moving in, immediately going over to her aunt and uncle, who were covering a couple of bodies "Your majesties, what happened?" Elliot got to the point straight away.

They both looked up to him, tears in their eyes "An ambush. We had no warning, and the enemy gave no quarter. It was terrifying" Arianna replied, no small amount of terrified sadness

"They took her" Frederic suddenly spoke up, grasping Elliots shoulder "They took Rapunzel... we've lost our daughter again" He moaned in bitter grief.

Max overheard the king of Corona, and as he looked around, he noticed that Rapunzel wasn't the only one missing "Hey, w-where's Torch?" He asked Rex worriedly

"He got taken down so fast, he didn't have a chance to react" The blond boy replied with a shake of his head "And when the smoke cleared there was no sign of his card" He then said "So that could only mean he was taken too or..." he couldn't finish

Max got the message right away as more dread filled his core, same with Chomp and Terry as they entered the room "How long ago did the attack happen?" Terry asked the regent dinosaur king.

"Not long" Rex replied immediately, before laying his hands on Max's shoulder and telling him this "Please tell me you at least came back with the giganotosaurus"

That was when Max's eyes widened, having completely forgotten about that crucial thing. Quickly he checked all his pockets, and his bag, and soon stopped in dread "No..." he said

Rex sighed as he looked down

This trip to Corona, which should've been a peaceful and light-hearted affair had turned into a complete disaster. A new dinosaur card could very well have fallen into the hands of the enemy, Rapunzel has been captured for only the gods know what, and Torch... where on Seikatsu's green earth could he be?

So... yeah, this took waaaay longer than I had expected, sorry for that

Shit happens though, and life can be full of shit. Fresh story ideas, job applications, interviews, course work all that mumbo jumbo. Still though, I did get myself someone special though, so it wasn't all bad. I'll try to post the next update as soon as I can, but right now my mind is focused on other stories, so I'll try my best not to give you a year long wait for an update

So about that giga we saw in this chapter. I basically had this guy in mind as a dinosaur serial killer and I wanted to find a good model to match him. Was never a big fan for dk's giga design, but JWD's model matched him perfectly (Plus to me personally it looked badass, so... yeah). I surely hope I made him the villain that we should've got in the movie. I'm quite proud of the name you'll see me give him in the next chapter.

In the meantime, I got work to do.
