Here is the latest chapter of the Diamondverse. Now this Steven's different from the Steven Universe you probably remember, well nearly dying suffering PTSD, murder/resurrection of an old enemy who tried to be your anger management coach, turned into a pink Godzilla would do that you. So give the guy some slack, he's been through hell.
Time passed as Steven began to regain consciousness and found himself tied to a chair in a dimly lit room. The last thing he remembered was some strange kid blasting him with magic hands, causing him to black out. As his eyes adjusted to the low light, he noticed that same kid standing before him. "Um… hello?" He stammered and realized the kid did not look like your average child. The dead giveaway was the yellow and blue skin, white hair, and red eyes. "You're not human, are you?"
"I am The Collector, and I have some questions." The boy, calling himself The Collector, said. He tried to appear as menacing as he possibly could. It would have been less threatening and more adorable if Steven had been honest.
"Well, Mr. Collector, I'm not sure how much help I can be, but I'll do my best to answer your questions," Steven replied with a smile. The Collector's expression softened slightly. "Well… that's good." He took a moment to get back into character, straightening his posture and narrowing his eyes before proceeding with his inquiries. "Who are you?"
"My name is Steven Universe. I'm a Crystal Gem and protector of Earth." To which the Collector says to him: "Never heard of you. What exactly do you do as a Crystal Gem?" Steven paused for a moment and explains: "As a Crystal Gem, I fought against threats to Earth and protected its inhabitants. We also work to heal and restore corrupted Gems, helping them find their true selves again."
The Collector raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "And how did you become a Crystal Gem? Is it something anyone can do?" He asks the young man, "No, it's because I have a gem embedded in my belly button," Steven explained. "It gives me special powers." The Collector continues to asks as he walks rotating around Steven: "Is that why you're not dead after getting hit in the face? Unless… Are you a ghost?" Steven answers dryly: "No." The Collector continues to asks: "Are you a zombie?" Steven now annoyed: "Stop it." The Collector is still pondering: "Am I a zombie?" Steven finishes: "You're not even close. Look, my gem gives me enhanced durability so I can withstand more than a regular human. But it still hurts!"
The Collector nodded, absorbing the information. "So, this gem in your belly button grants you extraordinary abilities and resilience." He pokes Steven's belly, causing him to flinch. "Is it also why your body's a different shape?" To which Steven feels offended: "I'm pretty sure you just called me fat."
"You said you're a protector of Earth, but no one's ever talked about you." Collector took a moment to ponder this. "Perhaps your role as a protector is more discreet or underground." The human-Gem hybrid corrects him: "That's not right." The child of the stars still ponders a theory: "Or maybe you're just a new addition to the team." Steven still correcting him: "That's not right, either."
Collin comes up with another possible theory: "Or are you from another dimension? Like a parallel universe where things are like this universe but different? And the Crystal Gems are heroes in that universe? But somehow, you traveled to this universe but don't know how." Steven blinks in surprise at the sudden influx of possibilities. "Wow. That was just a guess." Collin explains himself: "I learned about it in physics—quantum theory. This is amazing! You can help me save the Isles!"
Steven asked: "Yeah?" The Collector exclaimed excitedly: "Yeah!" Steven dryly speaks: "Yeah, no. I have my stuff to deal with." Suddenly, Steven summoned a bubble shield around himself, breaking the chair that tied him down. "Here's a tip, kid: Don't watch the mouth. Watch the hands." He said with his hands freed then traps the child of the stars in a bubble, and the human-Gem hybrid gets up whips his arms, Collin says to him: "Steven, wait!" He said to him only for Steven to raise his arm summons a bubble around the Collector. The he tries to leave, by exiting through the window. But before leaves he tells him: "Trust me, this will make you a better Star Child." He was about to jump, but then he started to glitch and falls down the fire escape. He fell and landed on the third row of the fire escape as Collector who manages to escape the bubble and rushes to see Steven who's no not glitching.
"Hey, are you okay?" The child of the stars asked as he was concerned about him, to which the human-gem hybrid replies dryly and annoyed: "No, I'm not." He rolls over on his back staring at the boy. Collin asks him again: "What's going on with your body?" Steven answers the question to the best of his ability: "I don't think my atoms are able to function in the wrong dimension." Then he started to glitch again, just as he gets up.
Steven groans and says as he leans over the side of the fire escape handle: "Look, I'm not looking for a side gig as a Star Child coach." Hr spoke of his un-wanting to be a part of this, "I got a lot of going on in my dimension. Like a lot."
Collector slides down closer to him and in the row behind him, he says to him: "You know, from one of the comics I read, that with 'great power, comes'…" The older human stops him in mid-sentence: "Don't you dare finish that sentence. Don't do it! I've heard enough of it and I'm sick of it." He again tries to leave but he glitches again, causing him to halt for second, leans and falls but he grabs on the fire escape again this time even lower. "Want my advice? Go back to being a regular." He said as he hangs by one arm.
"I don't have a choice!" The Collector exclaims, as he leans over the fire escape to get an eye view of Steven. "Odalia has a dimensional gateway. She's trying to kill me. Or at the least the guys she's brought from other dimensions." He explains himself and the situation he's in.
"Wait a second. What did you just say?" He asks as he climbs back up the fire escape. Collector repeats himself to answer the question: "Odalia or her hired guns are trying to kill me." The human-Gem hybrid adult not carrying about that asks: "Who cares about that? Where is the gateway?" He ask as he was under the Collector using the stairway.
Collin answers the location: "In Boneborrow. Under the half unfinished bridge." The Steven turn around waving and says: "Goodbye."
"Wait, where you going?" The child of the stars confused by this, the Steven says to himself of a plan: "When it runs again, I'll just jump in and get back to my life." But Collector still follows him and tries to reason with him: "No, you can't let them run it. I'm suppose to destroy it so it never runs again or everyone's going to die." He said trying to keep up with him.
"'Or everyone's gonna die'. That is what they always say." Steven spoke in annoyance of predictability of the dangerous equipment being used for even more dangerous reasons, "But there always a little bit of time, before everybody dies. That when I and the Gem do our best work." He spoke as he reaches the ground.
Collector asks him: "But don't you need a some sort of flash drive? You know something to counter the original program?" Steven realizes that and says: "Yeah. Do you have one?" The boy replies to him: "No. And is it called an override key or something?" The man answers: "Its always an override key, a shutdown, key, a virus key, whoever cares key. I could never keep up, so I call it an override." Collin says to him again making a suggestion: "Well, there's an electronic store." He points to the store's direction. "I can help you but if you help me." He put in a plot-hole in his help.
"(Groaning) I knew there was a catch. This is why I didn't want kids." He said to himself in frustration knowing this kid's not bargaining with ho, easily. The Collector asks: "Can't you just buy one?" The adult says as he continues to walk away: "No, we can't do anything. I'm gonna go this Odalia person, talk to her and see if she can get me back home." As he leaves the alley, Collin still tries to reason with him: "But if I don't the gateway when you leave, everyone on the Boiling Isles, My adopted mom, my adopted brother and sisters, my best friends and millions of others will die." He spoke disappointing tone of Steven's actions as a witch sees Steven and the Collector passing him.
"And you're just gonna go home and leave me here to figure this out on my own?" He was still a bit mad at him for doing this. "You're good with that Crystal Gem?" To which the human-Gem hybrid simply replies: "Yep. This is your world and responsibility, not mine." He said as he makes a right turn heading for the electronic store, Collector realizes reasoning with him isn't working. So he uses a child's tactic, he sits down with his legs up to his face as he sits down.
Steven stop, looks back at the Collector and asks: "Wh-what are you doing?" Collector pouts as he answers: "Making you feel guilty. Is it working?" He asks but Steven sees this trick, pulled a few with the Gems when he was young. He even says remembering this tactic: "Ho! Oh, no. Nice try kid, I used this tactic. I won't crack." He said even chuckles a bit, though he too feels the effects of feeling guilty. He puts his face on his arm and muffling yells. "No, no, no, resists! Do not let him win!" Even with his mouth muffled, the Collector can hear him and stands up. "(Speaking normally) All right kid, you win. Come on, we don't have a second to loose." He said as he leaves, the Collector follows right behind him.
They reach the electronics store filled with all kinds of electronics from the 1990's to today's technology mixed with Boiling Isles' magic among them is related to Blight Industries. The TV showing on screen of a female announcer says: "At one time Blight Industries use to build, manufacturing and selling of weapons even defense contracting. But that's no longer our business, now combining human technology with Boiling Isles magic, we have ushered in a new era of technological advancement. We don't just predict the future, we guide it, shape it, lead it." The announcer spoke as Steven picks up a the hard drive.
"So this is Blight Industries hu?" Steven asks regarding the branding of most of the products in the store. Collin answers him: "Yeah. Like the video they use to be a weapon contractor. Amity said it was homeland security but that was just what they call it but it war really weapons contracting, they even made abomination robot warriors for that Belos guy. His real name was Philip, it's a long story." Steven says to him getting the majority of it: "I'll take your word. But where did they get the technology to inspire them?" He asks seeing computers, laptops, IPads and other devices, and they stood in line.
The child of the stars continues to explain: "Human garbage's been leaking into the Demon Realm for decades. And now Eda is bringing more useful and electrical devices even old outdated ones, they made some unique inventions that combined the magic of the Isles." He said with a smile as it was their turn, the cash register guy is a teenager, who says as he scans the item: "Okay, that'll be 3 snails and 27 cents plus tax." He said, to which Steven questions: "Excuse me, you said snails?" To which the teenager replies dryly: "Yes sir." Steven pulls out his wallet and pays in his money, but the teenage cashier says to him: "Is this a joke sir?" He wondering regarding the paper money with a diamond printed on it.
"No, that's real money. I guess my currency doesn't work here. Sorry." Steven realizes and apologizes to the cashier then the Collector steps in and pays the hard drive: "Sorry about my friend here. He's a bit of a hermit." The young man annoyingly stares at him, the teenager says: "Alrighty here's the receipt. And have a lovely day." The two leave, but the Steven's stomach starts to growl.
As he rubs his stomach and says: "I know what I said, we can't waste anytime. But we should get something to eat first." Then Collin questions him: "Seriously? The fate of the Isles is hanging in the balance, and you want to get something to eat first?" To which the human-Gem hybrid replies to him: "Hey come on. I haven't all day since I got here. Besides an army travels far, but a lion runs on its stomach." He explains himself.
Soon they enter a diner, Steven is eating a cheeseburger that has cow-spider meat, and fries are made out of a potato like vegetable native to the Boiling Isles, and something similar to soda drink. "Oh, this is so good. I don't care if it's made out of a cow-spider hybrid creature. It's so crunchy and delicious." He spoke as he eats the burger, and the Collector watches from the other side of the seat, with a drink in hand and has a disturbed look on his face. Then an employee gives them the bill, just as Steven licks his fingers of grease, he sees the bill then turns to the Collector. "You got still money? I mean I tried to buy the hard drive and my money doesn't work here." He asks since it's true his money doesn't work in this dimension.
The Collector asks the Crystal Gem: "Ok, I need you to hocus your focus. Can you do that?" He said to him trying to get him on track. Steven replies to him lazily but confirm as he eats a fry: "Hmmm sure." Collin continues to talks to him: "Okay, so the dimensional gateway…" The older person interrupts and asks: "You gonna eat that?" He takes the Collector's burger and begins to eat it. "I'm still listening." He said with his mouth somewhat full.
Collector speaks: "Okay, I'm kinda going through the stage where my powers have a mind of their own. So any tips for that you can tell me now?" Steven eats the last bite of the burger and answers: "Yeah, I got plenty. You may need to get some extra clothes. In case you bring a costume to life that turns into a killer monster. And some hand lotion for your hands get dry. And some baby powder, it'll get heavy on the joints. You don't want any chefing, right?" He explains the majority of the tips to the Collector, who is somewhat a bit disappointed.
"Is there anything else?" The child of the stars asks, but the Star Child adult simply answers: "No, that was everything." Collin still disappointed says to him dryly and stoked: "I think you're gonna be a bad teacher." Then Steven says as he still eats the fries: "Uh-uh-uh? Look up any old Blight Industries buildings." With that Collin pulls out a penstagram scroll and searches for any and old buildings the Blight Industries used to own and used, and says the location: "'Blight Industries factor, where Odalia and Alador Blight revealed the abomaton and abomaton 2.0, where Amity saved Luz who volunteered to be a target subject and that it's located outside of Bonesborrow.'" He read what was on his handheld scroll similar to a iPhone.
"(Gasp) Maybe we can fly there. I got a star that can get us there in no time." To which Steven just laughs at the ides, Collin's eyelids are half close thinking he's not being taken seriously.
They take a road trip on an Abomination made bus, with other people, Steven and Collin were in the back with other people, witches and demons alike who don't seem to notice or care the Collector and Steven for to them they're either cosplayers or random people. "I'm not flying on a star all the way outside of town, Collin. Not after a hearty burger breakfast." He said his reasons why he isn't, which still disappoints Collin who sits next to him with his eyes half closed. "Keep your legs fresh. You're gonna thank for this later."
When they reach their destination, they removed their civilian clothes and suit up. For Steven he removes his trench coat, revealing his trademark pink long sleeve jacket, black shirt with yellow star in the middle, and he removes his sandals thereby going barefoot but keeps the sweat pants on. Collector puts on his hooded robs, removes his shorts that hides the rest of his costume, and wearing tennis shoes, with his hood over his head, then they both put on ski masks to hide their identities for this. Steven and Collin were shoulder to shoulder and their fists on their hips looking heroic. But Steven turns to Collin and notice the cape and says to him: "And that a no, on the cape." But Collector replies in disagreement: "I think it's cool."
"Loose the cape. Its disrespectful. Star Child doesn't wear capes." He said as he pulls off the cape, which almost makes the Collector falls to the ground.
Steven and Collin observe the Blight Industries building from a safe distance, noting the heavy security presence and high fences surrounding the perimeter.
"How are we gonna get in there?" Collin asked, eyeing the guards patrolling the entrance.
Steven glanced around, a plan forming in his mind. "I have an idea. First, I'll infiltrate the lab disguised as a maintenance worker. Second, I find the head scientist's computer and download all the important information we need. Third, if I see it, grab a delicious donut from the cafeteria and run for the exit. It's risky, but it might just work." He spoke as he stretches his body making he get loose for this mission even leaning on a tree. Collin nodded, ready to follow Steven's lead as he said, "Let's do it."
"No, not you. Just me." Steven spoke stopping him. Collin's face fell, disappointment evident in his expression. "But Steven, I can help," he protested. "You stay here and be the lookout." Said the older member of this duo, "Please, Steven, I wanna help." Collin gave Steven a pleading look. "Wha… what are you doing?" Steven asked. "Giving you puppy-dog eyes to change your mind. Is it working?" He asks in the end. "No… of course not…" Steven covered his mouth with his jacket and screamed into it, "DO NOT LET HIM WIN!" But he ultimately gave in. "Fine, you can come, but stay close and be quiet." Collin beamed with excitement, grateful for the opportunity to prove himself.
With that the two set out to infiltrate the building, by entering from the backdoor where the other employees enter, they open some lockers and steal some employee uniforms.
Steven walks through the building dressed as a maintenance worker, with Collin hiding as his shadow, trying to mimic his movements to remain completely natural.
"Ms. Blight, you have to listen to me." Steven and Collin stop as they hear a scientist speaking to Odalia, being accompanied by Sendak. "If we try to activate it again, a black hole could open up under the Isles." The said scientist shows on the screen on his computer of the multiple anomalies happening all over the Isles, including tropical earth trees in the forest, large towering buildings protruding out of towers, and the lamp poles made to look like a Christmas tree out of random objects
"This is pretty standard bad guy stuff." Steven told Collin. "I bet the boss lady is gonna say, 'I don't care about the consequences; just make it work!' or something." As Steven predicted, the following words out of Odalia's mouth were, "I don't care about the consequences; just make it work!" The adult human-Gem hybrid says to him: "Told you. And everything that scientist guy said sounds bad." The child of the stars emerges from the shadows to his mentor's side. "So, let's get in there," Collin said, but Steven stops him and tells him: "Let's wait for them to—" before he could finish his sentence another voice speaks.
"You there!" Steven and Collin froze as a voice called out from behind them. "What are you doing here?" The two turned around to see a security guard approaching them with a suspicious look on her face. Collin recognized her as Terra Snapdragon, former Plant Coven Head.
"I was just… passing by and wanted to check out the new lab," Steven said, trying to sound casual. "Making sure it was workin' properly and all that." Terra Snapdragon narrowed her eyes, clearly not convinced by Steven's explanation. "Well, I'll have to escort you out," she said firmly.
"Alright, I'll go. It's not like I was shadowing (italicize shadow) the room or anything." Steven emphasized shadowing, and Collin realized he wanted him to sneak into the lab as a shadow. "Right…" Terra said, crossing her arms. "Now come with me." With that he does follow her. "I'm coming." Steven walked beside Terra, who didn't notice shadow Collin sneak away and enter the lab.
Collin uses an invisible glyph King and Luz made, this helps him enter without being detected. Then the Terra and the Star Child enters the lab, after Odaila and Sendak left for other reasons.
As the former head of the plant coven and the Crystal Gem enters, Terra examines him, and can tell something about him was different, she removes the hat revealing his ears to be circular instead of pointy like others. "Another human on the Boiling Isles? Aside from Luz and her mother as well as Zoah, this is amazing." Steven replies to her: "Yeah, but I'm not from her dimension." He explains himself, even lifting his shirt revealing his gemstone.
"Okay you got me. I'm Steven Universe, I'm a human-Gemstone hybrid. Basically I'm a spawn of my dad who's human but my mom was an alien being." He explains himself, as for the Collector he tries to type in the password on the computer while Steven distracts her, but just as Collin enters the password, there are literally hundreds of files on the computer. This confused the child of the stars who could pick which file for the hard drive. As for Terra continues to examine him, even warns him: "This might pinch a little." She gently pushes, causing him to fall backwards and he lands in a chair, then it literally straps him by his legs, arms and his upper torso with seatbelts.
This shocked Steven, for this is one of the times he go strapped to a chair, then Terra uses a cue-tip and says to him: "I know. I just need to get these samples." She puts the cue-tip on his mouth to gather some saliva.
'Seriously, organize your desktops'. Collector spoke in his mind seeing the chaotic mess, as Steven was concerned about Collector, Terra is looking through a microscope to see the cells, as they are glitching and in the process are dying, and openly speaks: "Wow. Just completely cellular decay." She spoke unaware Collin was carrying the computer screen and the large hard drive while still invisible.
"What are you doing?" Steven whispers to him, Collin stops and answers also whispering: "I'm just taking the whole thing." He explains as he holds the computer and the hard drive.
"And obviously you have been glitching." Terra said as she turns around facing Steven, who replies to her in denial: "'Glitching'? No." He began to glitch as she stated. "Why would you say that?" He returns to normal after his glitching episode.
Terra says to Steven regarding the dangers of his glitching: "If you stay in this dimension too long, your body's going to disintegrate." She said as she starts to stand up, "Do have any idea how painful be, Steven Universe?" Steven didn't know the answer to the question. "You can't imagine. And I, for one, can't wait to watch." This shocked Steven and the Collector to hear this.
"What did you say your name was?" The Crystal Gem asks the former head of the plant coven who answers: "My name dearie, is Terra Snapdragon." She answers as tree limbs burst out of the ground and floor then attaches to her back like plant themed tentacles. Then she uses her plant tentacles to grab Steven by the neck and push him down to the floor. "I'm assuming you're not a very nice person with redeeming qualities." Steven spoke as he was having his throat chocked.
To which she replies to him: "Well, when you lived under a tyrannical rule for 50 years. You pick up a thing or two." She explains herself with an evil smile, Steven exclaims to Collin: "I got this! Run for it!" He yells as he summons a small bubble and throws it at the door allowing the Collector to escape. Terra asks him for she didn't know he's talking to the Collector: "Who are you talking to?"
The door open and Collin hesitates to leave, and he watches as Steven's being bashed on the floor breaking the chair, "I got this!" He exclaims as he's still being tossed around like a rag doll, while Terra mockingly says: "Oh, you 'got it,' Steven?" She pulls him left and right even dragging him across the work table.
Collin still runs with the computer and hard drive in his arms, one of the plant tentacles burst through the wall, he even sees Steven bashes against the wall with his face and body. "I got it handled, buddy! I had tougher scrapes than this!" He spoke to Collin but Steven is still being pulled and dragged around. "Everything is fine!" He groans in pain as his bashes against the wall again.
The Collector still kept trying to escape but when he makes a turn he bumps into an employee and his invisible glyph falls off and for the person he pumped into to fall backwards on the floor. Then Steven is thrown right through the wall and another wall into another room, "Okay, this is a little bit bad." He spoke in pain, Terra still in a mocking tone says to him: "You're a chatty person." Collin still runs with the equipment in arms and he puts on another invisible glyph on and runs.
Unknown to him the person who he bumped into was Luz Noceda in disguise wearing a lab coat, glasses and fake pointy ears.
Steven is now in another room, he summons his shield in his right hand and a bubble glove in his left hand tries to fight the tree limbs but no matter how fast he is they keep coming to quickly for him to react in time. "This is the moment, where I know I'm loosing a fight." She grabs him by his arms then the neck and thrown through the wall again, he lands into the hallway in front of Collin, he gets up and they run together towards the nearest exit.
"Well, let me tell you the good news. We don't need the monitor." He spoke as he takes the computer screen and tosses it away, then he's grabbed again and pulled away from the Collector's side.
She stops fighting to see the child of the star, and says in a polite and yet sinister tone: "Oh, Collector. Long time no see. You're all grown up." She was towering over him with her plant tentacles. Collin nervously says to her: "Hey Terra. You're not still made about me turning you into a toy aren't you?" To which the plant themed witch replies to him: "All water under the bridge as far as I'm concerned. But I see you're helping this human in particular." She spoke still trying to hold back her evilish charm.
"He's just trying to go home, and I'm trying to stop Odalia from destroying the Isles. So please Terra, can you stop fighting us, or at least him?" The child of the stars pleaded with her. But she pauses for a second and says: "Nope. Now I believe you have something that doesn't belong to you little boy." He tries to run the opposite direction, but Steven summons a large bumble around the Collector and pulls him in. "It's proprietary." She said in now sinister tone of voice.
Steven pulled the Collector to him then pops the bubble and both continues to run for their lives away from Terra, who chases them still but her plant tentacles gets stuck in the door as it closes.
Soon they exit the hallway and entered the cafeteria, where they are security guards and other scientists. Steven says as they see everybody: "Oh. Now might be a good time to turn invisible. Can you do that?" Collin answers: "No. I'm out of glyphs. And no paper to make them, and I'm pretty sure I lost my pencil." He spoke realizing he cannot use the particular power that be very useful in this situation.
And for that Steven says to him: "Okay, no going invisible. Selecting a…they don't have donuts. But they have bagels which is close enough." He picks up a said bagel and they casually walk. "Act normal. Play it cool." He spoke as they try not to draw too much attention.
One of the scientists notice one of them in particular and says: "Hey isn't that the Collector?" Steven asks him: "I take it, you're pretty famous around here, hu?" To which the boy answers nervously: "You can say that." He felt embarrassed by his past actions.
Then the whole staff readies their weapons of former Blight Industries weapons. Then they started shooting, while yelling "Get em! Stop them! He stole a bagel!" Steven says to Collin: "Okay time to switch." He takes the hard drive and gives the bagel to the Collector who throws it at one of the guards. They still fired their weapons at the human-Gem and cosmic child, to which Steven says: "Ok, time to fly." He then jumps off the balcony and started to hover in the air, The Collector tries to join but in his attempt to fly he hovers for 3 minutes till he falls, landing on the ground.
Collin still tries his best to keep up while yelling: "I'm not ready for this!" Steven replies to him: "Everyone learns better when faced in a life threatening situation." He spoke of his teaching methods as he flies through the trees. Collin dodges one tree only to crash into a larger-thicker tree and falls. He hits a few tree limbs before latching onto one, but it was a skinny one that snaps and causes him to fall and lands on the ground, and the same stick he caught lands on his head. "Ow." He felt the pain as he rubs his head.
"Uh-oh." He spoke seeing the guards still firing at him, so he runs. They still kept firing at him, even as Steven throws his shield at the guards, one by one even bouncing off a few and back in Steven's hand. He hovers next to him ands: "What are you doing down there?" Collin answers as he tries to keep up: "My powers aren't working right or something." He stated while dodging the shots.
Steven exclaims to the Collector: "You got to control your own gravity to fly or they'll catch you!" He still out flew the child of the stars. "This is what you wanted right?" The Collector now jumps over a rock and lands on a bend down tree over a stream. He turns to see trees being pushed down by certain plant tentacles from a certain someone chasing them.
Steven turns his head seeing Terra coming at Collin. She still tells him: "Come back here, little boy!" Steven says to Collin as he lands on a tree: "Ok, calm yourself! Think of lighter than air! Find your center and jump into the air!" He explains to him, but the Collector couldn't keep up, he climbs a tree while yelling: "There's too many things to remember!" So Steven counters him: "Then stop listening to me!" The cosmic child answers to him: "That's the best idea you had all day!" He reaches the top of the tree and jumps off it, just as Terra catches up to him.
In the mid-air, Collin begins to hover in mid-air, Terra was about to grab him, but Steven knee kicks her in the face, and congratulates Collin: "Way to go, Collin!"
The Collector was controlling his gravity, he could fly again, Steven flies next to him now. Collin in shock says: "Look, I'm doing it!" Steven says to him: "Right. Just keep your mind a blank, this will help you maintain control of flying." The two were making great progress. "You're doing great. Can you feel the rhythm?"
Collector comments his new friend: "I gotta say, you're pretty amazing." To which Steven announces to him: "We're a team! Me as the teacher who can still do it, and passed on his knowledge. You as the student who can do it, but not as good but perfect the knowledge." He spoke feeling a sense of joy, "I'm proud of us. So what was it you wanted to tell me…" he's interrupted by a glitch and falls he land on a tree branch.
"Steven!" Collin exclaims as he flies down to help his friend, but in the process he lets go of the hard drive he lands on the same tree branch where Steven land, and grabs the power cord, as it dangle. But the cord isn't hooked up to the hard drive, it is starting to unfastened and it disconnects from the power cord.
As Terra gets back up on her feet, she sees the hard drive, Steven and Collector's tree branch breaks and they fall. Just as the Crystal Gems tries to grab the hard drive, Terra grabs it with her plant tentacle.
But before Steven and Collin could react they're pulled up by something that looks like more vines but not related to Terra's vines. They were dangling from the trees tied by the vines.
As for the former head of the plant coven, she too felt something was off, then a sonic scream with rings of the said scream sends her flying backward for half a mile, before landing on the ground her vines caught her. She looks up to see Luz wearing her Good Witch Azura costume with some modifications, the human-witch fights against Terra punching her multiple times even kicks her, she then uses fire glyphs.
Terra creates some vines as a shield to block them, only that burns her vines to ashes instantly. Then Luz uses some ice glyphs that freezes Terra's vine tentacles to two trees in a very thick coat of ice.
The former head of plant coven unwisely lunges forward forgetting her vines are iced to the trees. Then Luz riding on her Palisman in staff from Stringbean kicks Terra in the face sending her flying back but the ice didn't break. The Latino girl lands on the ground, jumps back up and kicks Terra again in the face, this time knocking her out cold, and dangling by own vines. As for the Hard drive, the small titan grabs it in mid air and returns to Luz.
Luz is standing on a tree branch next to Steven and Collin still hanging and tied by the vines were. Luz reveals her face with her Palisman removes his staff and hovers as a floating snake but settles on her right shoulder and King climbs on her back, and hanging by his right arm on her left shoulder. Luz greets the two: "Hey, guys." Then King says to his friends: "Hi Collector. We see you, you made new friend."
"Luz? King?" Collin was shocked to see his friends save their butts. Steven questions Collin: "Oh, you know them. That's very cool." Luz explains herself to Steven: "I'm from another dimension. Well I mean another-another dimension." She corrected herself.
Montage comic book of Luz's origin, Luz's voice overs herself: "All right, people. Let's start at the beginning one last time. My named is Luz Noceda, and for the last three years I've been the human witch of the Boiling Isle. And I think you know the rest. I was the weird kid at school. Did things differently than others. I expressed myself through other ways. Then my papa died of a terminal illness, I try to go on and express myself. My mom send me to camp to be 'fixed', and there I met Owlbert, then Eda the Owl Lady and King. I went on adventures here made friend named Willow and Gus. Developed a relationship with a rich bully girl who was really bullied by her mother. She and I became girlfriends, I tried to help my mentor who was cursed by her own sister Lilith. Met and fought Belos destroyed the portal door leading to my human realm, traveled back in time to meet Philip Wittebang only to discover he and Belos were really the same guy. Met the Golden Guard whose name is Hunter. Tried to make another portal there I discovered someone named Vee a cloned basilisk who tried to assumed my life. I revealed this to my mom, fought Belos again who turned into an actual monster but was presumably destroyed by the Collector after he was freed, returned home with my friends, tried to find ways back to the Demon Realm with my friends and mama and Belos who turned out survived. Then saw the Boiling Isle gone down hill, met the Collector made friends with him in the end. I died and was brought back to life by King's father gain his power defeated Belos once and for all just as he tried to take over the Isles again. I made save the Isles, Vee's now my adopted sister Hunter is also like a brother to me and me and Amity are dating still." She explains herself.
Now back in the present, Collin says to her: "Gees Luz, you and King really…" Luz interrupts him and says: "You're not off the hook young man. Now let's go." Without hesitation she turns her Palisman back into a staff and she and King flies off. Collin questions: "How many super powered humans are there?" Steven answers to him: "Save it for Comic con." He said as he flies following Luz. Collin still confused and questions: "What's Comic Con?" With that Steven summons a bubble around the Collector and pulls him just as they were still being fired upon.
