Chapter 9
Aramyre lifted her head hearing howling from above.
"Out of the frying pan..." Thorin began looking up knowing that they were very much in danger.
"...and into the fire! Run! RUN!" Gandalf ordered them.
They started to run down the mountain as fast as they could. The wargs followed them rapidly down the hill.
A warg caught up to Bilbo leaping at him.
Bilbo ducked behind a rock and the warg jaws snapped in the air over his head. He stopped when the warg stopped in front of him. Bilbo pulled out his sword and held it in front of him.
The warg impaled himself onto the sword before falling dead before Bilbo.
The company reached a large land area with very few trees growing. They were trapped there.
"Up into the trees, all of you! Come on, climb! Bilbo, climb!" Gandalf ordered them.
Bifur threw an axe, killing a Warg which was approaching him.
Bofur jumps off a rock and grabs a tree branch, using Dwalin's head as a stepping stone to the tree.
Other dwarves begin climbing into the trees as well.
Bilbo tries to pull his sword out of the dead Warg's head, but it is stuck firmly. He continues to pull.
"They're coming!" Thorin shouted.
Gandalf climbs to the top of the furthest tree.
Dwalin boosts Balin up.
Aramyre climbed up into one of the trees. She leaned down to help some of the dwarves into the tree. "Kili!" She called out.
Kili jumped up catching her hand and she hoisted him up into the tree.
Bilbo finally manages to pull his sword out of the Warg. He looks up to see several more Wargs running at him. He quickly clambers up a tree as the Wargs rush below him.
Dozens of Wargs circle the trees in which the Company members are perched.
Gandalf reaches out with his staff and picks up a moth sitting in the same tree as him. Bringing the moth close to his face, he whispers to it; he then blows it gently, causing it to flutter away.
The Wargs cease their growling and turn as the White Warg, with Azog on its back, approaches slowly.
Thorin looks at Azog in shock. "Azog?!"
Aramyre's heart pounded in her chest looking out the large group of the wargs and their orc riders.
Azog stroked his white warg as it growled. "Nuzdigid? Nuzdi gast? Ganzilig-i unarug obod nauzdanish, Torin undag Train-ob."
Thorin looks stricken with pain and grief. "It cannot be."
"Kod, Toragid biriz. Worori-da!"
Elebert held onto the tree to herself balanced as the others did the same as the wargs snapped at their feet below trying to get up into the trees to kill them.
"Sho gad adol!"
The weight of the wargs trying to climb up the tree gets uprooted from the ground and began to lean wildly. More wargs grabbed onto it and tipped over into the next tree. The next tree also tipped over.
"Gandalf!" Elebert called out looking up as they ended up int the same tree. Her heart pounded in her chest threatening to burst from her chest.
Gandalf spotted a pinecone and grabbed it using his staff before setting it on fire before throwing into the group of wargs. Gandalf lit two more pinecones before dropping one down to Fili. "Fili!"
Fili caught the pinecone.
The others began to gather up pinecones handing them to Gandalf for the wizard to set them on fire.
They threw flaming pinecones down towards the wards sending them far away from the tree.
Aramyre took a breath leaning against the tree hearing Azog roar in anger.
The dwarves cheered. But suddenly their cheers went to cries as the roots of the tree began to give way.
The tree tipped over the edge of the cliff but came to the stop sticking straight out from the edge of the cliff.
Gandalf looked down and sees the ground far, far, below.
The dwarves try to hold on as they get flung around.
Ori loses his grip on the tree and falls, but manages to grab on to Dori's leg. "Aahhh! Oh! Oh no!"
"Mister Gandalf!" Dori called out losing his grip on the tree and falls.
Gandalf swung his staff down and Dori grabbed onto the end of it.
"Hold on, Ori!"
Thorin clung to the tree looking at Azog in anger. He pulled himself up onto the tree. He pulled his sword out and began to walk down the leaning trunk as Bilbo and the others, hanging from the tree, look on. Thorin runs through the burning ground at Azog and his White Warg.
Azog spreads his arms wide with a smug grin on his face.
Thorin growls as he runs with his sword up and his oaken branch shield held in front of him.
Azog crouches, then roars as his Warg leaps at Thorin.
Thorin tries to swing his sword, but the Warg hits him in the chest with its forepaw, smashing Thorin to the ground. The other dwarves in the tree look on in shock. Dori struggles to hold on to Gandalf's staff.
"Help!" Ori shouted.
Thorin got up to his feet panting.
Azog and his White warg wheeled around charing at Thorin again. Azog swung his mace smashing it into Thorin's face before he could even react. He was flung to the ground brutally.
"Nooo!" Balin yelled.
Aramyre got up to her feet looking back at Gandalf before pulling her sword out. She swallowed the lump in her throat and began to move swiftly down the tree trunk not even noticing that Bilbo was finally getting up to his feet. She could hear Thorin's yell in pain.
"Thorin! Nooo!" Dwalin yelled.
"Biriz torag khobdudol."
She fought with some orcs on her way trying to get to Thorin. She brought her arm back and sliced one of the orcs as she tried to move forward. She hadn't even noticed that Bilbo was on his way to Thorin. She turned her head to see Bilbo trying to protect Thorin. She let out a soft chuckle shaking her head. She then noticed Fili, Kili and Dwalin came off of the tree.
Soon eagles came grabbing the dwarves from their parols of falling to their death.
Aramyre ran to the edge of the cliff and jumped landing on one of the eagles next to Kili.
Kili looked over seeing her grip on tightly. "Oh… did you just… did you jump?"
"Yeah I did." She said as she gripped tightly to the feathers.
The eagles soared through the sky over the landscapes below.
Thorin was unconscious in one of the Eagles talons.
"Thorin!" Fili called out worried about his uncle.
The eagles approached a massive rock structure shaped like a bear. The eagle carrying Thorin gently deposited him and his sword on a flat area of the Carrock.
Gandalf slid off another eagles neck and ran towards Thorin. "Thorin! Thorin." He placed his hand on Thorin's face and whispered a spell.
Thorin's eyes slowly fluttered open gasping for air. "The halfling?"
"It's all right. Bilbo is here. He's quiet safe."
Elberth got off of the eagle she was on slowly moving towards the hurt Thorin.
Dwalin and Kili helped Thorin up but he shrugged them off once he was up to his feet.
"You! What were you doing? You nearly got yourself killed! Did I not say that you would be a burden? That you would not survive in the wild and that you had no place amongst us?" Thorin said coming to Bilbo until he was face to face with him. "I've never been so wrong in all my life!" He grabbed him and pulled him into a hug.
Bilbo hugged Thorin back surprised.
"I am sorry I doubted you."
"No, I would have doubted me too. I'm not a hero or a warrior...not even a burglar."
Everyone chuckled as the eagles flew away.
Aramyre moved towards the edge of the carrock seeing something in the distance.
Bilbo looked surprised seeing it as well. "Is that what I think it is?
"Erebor—The Lonely Mountain. The last of the great dwarf kingdoms of Middle-earth." Gandalf said his lips quirking into a small smile.
"Our home." Thorin said softly.
A bird cheeped flying by.
"A raven! The birds are returning to the mountain." Oin said happily.
"That, my dear Oin, is a thrush."
"But we'll take it as a sign - a good omen." Thorin said softly with a small smile coming to his lips.
"You're right. I do believe the worst is behind us." Bilbo said softly.
"Don't want to speak so suddenly." Aramyre said softly.
Far over the Misty Mountains rise
Leave us standing upon the height
What was before we see once more
Is our kingdom a distant light
Fiery mountain beneath a moon
The words unspoken, we'll be there soon
For home a song that echoes on
And all who find us will know the tune
Some folk we never forget
Some kind we never forgive
Haven't seen the back of us yet
We'll fight as long as we live
All eyes on the hidden door
To the Lonely Mountain borne
We'll ride in the gathering storm
Until we get our long forgotten gold
We lay under the Misty Mountains cold
In slumbers deep, and dreams of gold
We must awake, our lives to make
And in the darkness a torch we hold
From long ago when lanterns burned
Until this day our hearts have yearned
A fate unknown, the Arkenstone
What was stolen must be returned
We must awake at break of day
To find our song for heart and soul
Some folk we never forget
Some kind we never forgive
Haven't seen the end of it yet
We'll fight as long as we live
All eyes on the hidden door
To the Lonely Mountain borne
We'll ride in the gathering storm
Till we get our long forgotten gold
Far away the Misty Mountains cold

This is the end of Chapter 9. I hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter. I am planning on doing a filler chapter before starting Desolation of Smaug. I know I'll probably have to edit some more with this. Please leave a review and let me know what you think of this chapter. I tried my best to write this chapter. I promise that there is more to come. More Kili and Aramyre bonding. I'm excited to show you guys what will happen between the two of them. Reviews help me keep going when it comes to writing chapters out. I hope to have the next chapter out soon. I am going to be taking a small break to update the other Hobbit stories that I have out until I get to The Desolation of Smaug in all of them and update them through Desolation of Smaug and then I'll be doing the same for The Battle of the Five Armies. I hope that it is alright that I do that, but some of my stories are longer than others when it comes to updating. Because of all the information that I have in each of the stories. I hope that you guys will continue to read this story even during this small hiatus. Until next time.
