The bell above the door jingled as Paisley stood on the chair as she tried to fix the water that was leaking from the roof. She groaned while putting up more tape, it was going to be one of those days.

"Do you need any help with that?" A deep voice that she remembered vaguely from yesterday came from behind her.

She felt her foot slipping off the chair, Paisley waited for the impact with the floor. Her body slammed against a hard object while it knocked the breath out of her. When what she presumed were arms wrapped around her tight.

"OOF!! Goodness flowers, you barely weigh nothing at all." The deep voice said beside her ear. While he gently put her feet back on the floor.

Paisley turned and stared at the man that had possibly saved her life. She found herself face to face with Hayden. Paisley stared at him, he wore a black t-shirt that showed off his muscles. The converse that were black had dirt smudges on them. He looked to be out of the hottest man catalog.

"I did not mean to scare you little flower." Chuckling under his breath, Hayden looked over her head at the leaking roof. Paisley did not realize how small she was compared to his six-foot frame.

" I do not usually scare so easily. So I don't understand why you scare me." Paisley said while she climbed onto the chair to finish taping the roof.

"Why do you not pay someone to actually come fix that for you. I know a couple of guys, I can make a couple of calls for you." Hayden's said while he shoved his hands in his pockets.

Hayden's half-smile swore to show upon his face like he enjoyed scaring her with his presence. Like he was something other than human.

"Do I look like I am made of money like Zane, to actually fix this place up. I am debating on setting this entire building on fire, but my flowers will perish." She whispered towards the ground, arms wrapped around her slightly lifting her off the chair.

"Then lets make a bargain little flower. I fix anything in this shop around here, you get dressed up and go on a dinner date with me not some coffee date. Little flower, I want to treat you. Not to be another one of these men that want to get you into my bed." Hayden said, as a pink strip lined his nose like he was blushing.

"Well that may be discussed at a later time." Paisley smiled, while she walked towards the back of the store. Maybe this would be a great time to replant flower seeds.

"OW SHIT!" She heard a yell from up front. Paisley looked around to see where it came from. She quickly ran towards the front of the store as she realized it was Hayden. Noticing that Hayden had held his thumb between his other hand. The culprit which was a hammer laid thrown aside like a piece of meat thrown to the wolves. Paisley knew what had happened, the clues had been in sight.

"Did you try and hammer nails into the ceiling? You then hit your finger because you wanted to be Mr.Man." Paisley said while she looked towards the ceiling, resisting the urge to grab her nose and breath through her mouth.

Why were men like this?

"Sit down and we will take care of your thumb." A broken chair laid thrown across the room, trying to figure out a place for him to sit. Paisley grabbed a box and motioned for him to sit down.

"You do not have to fix me up flower. I can handle myself." Hayden said while he sat on the box and held his thumb out while she looked at the thumb. Other than the redness it seemed to be fine.

"You can go home now put ice on it and come back tomorrow." Paisley said while she looked around the shop. Maybe it was time to tidy up and she needed to be alone, when she looked up Hayden was gone and the shop was now completely empty.

She leaned against the counter, as her thoughts wondered where he may have went or what was wrong? The bell above the door jingled, she turned to welcome the customers.

As she saw the three giant men that dressed in all suits.

"Are you miss Paisley Thomas?" One of the three asked while the other two smiled. Paisley knew she was in trouble.

"Yes, and I must ask you three gentlemen to leave." She said as the bravery showed through her words.

"But you see miss Thomas, we have a message for you. Do not keep hanging out with Hayden Jacobs or you will get hurt." As one of them bashed a flower pot with a baseball bat.

Where was Hayden when you needed him, she asked in her head before everywhere went dark.
