Val and John were so excited to leave for their honeymoon that before the wedding they had packed everything inside of Rhonda so they could leave as soon as the rain had stopped. It has been two days since John and Val's wedding, they were off to the Neverglade Trails and every other spot John had ever suggested going to once they had reunited at the Putt Putt Course, and things were going smoothly back at home. Within those two days Poppy had asked Bridget if she could help move Val's pod to the tree outside of Branch's bunker and within a few hours everything was done and set up for the two newlyweds to come back to their new shared home. There was also enough open space away from the bunker entrance for Rhonda to move around.
Branch was just looking around his parent's new place and it felt serrel. He looked around at all the little touches he had added to the pod which also included family photos both old and new. After John and Val had come clean about who they really were to him, John had dug out an old photo from Rhonda that Val didn't even know that he had. It was the day that Branch had hatched. Val was holding Branch and John was holding Val. They were all on the floor of Rosiepuff's old pod. It was the first family photo of them. Branch had asked his dad if he could have a copy of it. John being John helped with that but instead of making a copy of the photo he gave Branch the one he had. Branch put the original in a frame and it had been hanging in the bunker with the rest of the family photos that had been added since the bergan incident. Thanks to Poppy's help who had just wanted to help make the bunker feel more homey. Branch had taken that photo down the day after his parents went on their honeymoon and found a place in their new home for it to stay.
He did miss his parents and he was glad that they had talked and he was actually looking forward to the day they came back home. Poppy has helped with all of his anxieties and insecurities. Poppy had also enrolled him to start some solo therapy sessions. Which has been helping to the point where Poppy has actually made a comment about his colors looking a little more brighter. He has been able to talk about the pain and trauma he has felt and gone through and finally be able to work through all of that in a healthy non-paranoid way. Who knew hiding away in a bunker for two decades yelling about Bergans wasn't the healthiest way to live? Poppy wanted to help Branch any way she could and sometimes talking to a professional helps. You go to a doctor when your body is unwell, you go to a therapist when your mind is unwell. Doctor for your mind and all that. So Branch has been going to therapy and Poppy has been trying to get the restof her friends and the Putt Putt Trolls in the very least to go as well. After everything that has happened. Her mom has already agreed to go to a group family session with her and dad next week. Poppy was really looking forward to that. She might also suggest couple therapy in the furture for her and Branch just to make sure that their relationship stays good and strong.
Poppy had once explained all of this at once to Branch when she had first mentioned therapy and how she had desided to start going to it after the who almost being eaten thing happened and how it really helped her. Branch had agreed to go when she had asked him to try it but he also might have mentioned that she might be going just a little overboard about the whole therapy thing. He just told her to see where things took them and to focus on the relationship that pertained to the people closest around her. She had realized that he was right that she can get help for herself but she can not force others to do the same.
Also Branch has been planning more and more about how and when he should finally ask Poppy the big question. The more he thought about it, the more he was certain he wanted to do it on a date that was equally special to them. Tomorrow will mark the one year anniversary of when they first began to date. As he got things ready for the following day he just needed to make sure that one Clay was out of the bunker for the entire day and two that Poppy would agree to celebrate the anniversary in the bunker because she might have had other things planned for tomorrow.
Poppy was so excited that tomorrow would be the one year anniversary of her and Branch's relationship. If she was being honest only the two of them knew this. They haven't exactly told anyone about when they had first gotten together. Well more like the first time she fell in love with him. When she first heard him sing and started to really get to know him. She remembers that day so vividly. She had told Branch that she had wanted to celebrate that special occasion of what had brought them together. She knew it sounded silly which is why they did not tell anyone about the day, but it meant the world to her. It was the first day that she truly fell deep in love with that sad grey troll and did not even realize it yet. Nor did she realize just how much he loved and still loves her. Being able to celebrate the beginning of what started their relationship from friends to more is something that should be remembered.
Branch had told her he had something special for her and to meet him in their spot and she was so excited that she nearly rushed out of her pod but she had to control herself because he told her to meet him at sunset and it was still noon. Until she needed to meet up with Branch she decided to get her mind off of it and spend time with her wonderful parents. She loved spending time with them and she also loved when her mom tried to get to know more about Branch. She thinks that it might have something to do with how her mom first treated Branch when he was still grey. Poppy knows that her mom is trying to do anything she can to make up for that and Poppy appreachiates that more than Viva could ever know.
When that time came close Poppy headed out of the pod faster than she probably should have because she had inadvertently drawn the attention of her parents. "She seems excited." Viva said to her husband. "She probably is going to visit Branch." Peppy said with a kind smile knowing that his daughter was in love with the once grey troll. He knew this for many reasons, one is that she has the same expression on her face that he does when he sees his wife, secondly he has heard them say that they love one another more than once. "I know Branch is not a bad guy but I still don't know much about him." Viva tried to pick her words carefully. She did not want to ruin any head way that she had made with Poppy by asking her and she did not want to fight with her husband, but this troll had been grey for twenty years. Viva trusts her husband and she trusts her daughter but from the time of meeting Branch she has not gotten to really get to know him on a personal level to change her opinions about him at least enough for her to trust him.
Peppy luckily was able to understand where his wife had been coming from, but just like Poppy he was going to defend Branch against anyone, even his own wife. This boy had been by his daughter's side through thick and thin and had helped his daughter grow into the wonderful woman that she is today and the fantastimazing queen that she is. "Branch is a good man. He is good for Poppy and she is good for him. I have seen them both grow so much within this past year alone and if you just had the chance to watch them together you will begin to understand that same thing." Peppy tried to explain to his wife, but all Viva could do was nod. She wanted to believe what her husband was saying but how would she just see the two together without the influence of everyone else? Then Viva had an idea. One she was pretty sure that Peppy was not going to be completely on board with but it was kind of his idea to begin with.
Back at the bunker Branch was grabbing his guitar from his room not realizing that Ozzy and Delta were in the kitchen talking to Clay. The three of them noticed Branch's excitement for the day and even though they had wanted to ask what he was so happy about they also knew that Branch was still a very private person towards them and not wanting to push his boundaries they just kept quiet. "I wonder where he is going?" Ozzy asked the other two trolls at the table. "He is probably going to meet up with Poppy at their secret spot with the giant mushroom behind the bunker." Clay said, while eating a sandwich not noticing the stares of the older two trolls looking at him. When he did look up he was just looked up. "What?" Clay asked, confused. "We didn't know Branch had a secret spot." Ozzy said. Delta just looked at him and giggled a little. "Honey. It's called a secret spot for a reason." She explained. Clay just nodded in agreement with his step mom. "Yeah. It's a spot he goes to when he wants to have some alone time and sometimes when he and Poppy want some private time." Clay explained taking another bite of his food. He figured that if those two would be anywhere without letting anyone else know it would be there.
There was an intense knocking on the bunker entrance. When Delta went to go see who it was she saw King Peppy and Queen Viva as soon as they made it back down to the live area Ozzy was curious as to why they were there. "Branch just left to go see Poppy. You actually just missed him." Ozzy told his oldest friend. All Peppy did was nod in response as Viva took control of the conversation. "We know. We were hoping if you actually knew where they were going to meet up?" Clay was now paying attention to the conversation at hand. "Not a good idea. They went to be alone. It's like Branch's safe spot and he trusted Poppy to share it with her. You can't betray that." The four adults looked at Clay in an understanding, but Viva knew that this was the only way to truly know Branch. "Please I just want to better understand the boy who has captured my daughter's heart." Clay saw the plea filled eyes of his queen and he knew that he could keep that information from her. He silently prayed to himself for them not to get caught and he also prayed that if they did that they would be better at keeping their lips sealed than he was. He told them exactly where they should be able to find Branch and Poppy and he hoped that he was not making a huge mistake.
The four trolls wander around for a while until they hear the voices of the two trolls they've been looking for. When they came to the clearing just far enough away to not be seen, what they saw was heart-harming. Branch pulled Poppy in close to him as they sat on their mushroom and he began to hum a melody letting the glow bugs catch on, lighting up the area in their romantic glow and taking over the melody so Branch could begin to sing. He held Poppy close as she sat in his lap as she placed her head on his shoulder listening to him sing. Ozzy, Delta, Viva, and Peppy knew that she should probably leave but they could not help but take in the sight before them.

Ozzy and Delta could not be happier that Branch has found someone who makes hime happy. Ozzy is honestly sad that Branch is no longer considered his son but he was happy for John and Val to step up and be the parents Branch deserved. Delta could not help but feel a little weepy at the sight of the two trolls in love. She had heard stories during the twenty years living at the golf course but these past several months of being able to get to know this troll she has truly grown to love him and only wants what is best for him. Poppy seems to be just that.

King Peppy and Queen Viva could not help but smile at the fact that someone truly saw their daughter and loved her fully with every flaw. The two looked happy and in love and they knew that they probably shouldn't be spying but they could not help but watch them. They could not help but watch Branch sing to Poppy as he held her in his arms as they sat on their special spot.

After the song finished Poppy looked up at Branch with the utmost love in her eyes and pulled his head in to kiss him. This was the que to leave before they saw something they wished they hadden't. Peppy trusts Branch with his daughter's life but that does not mean he wants to see anything too intimate. Viva finally saw what Peppy and Poppy saw in Branch and strangely enough she now trusts this troll completely. When Branch pulled away from Poppy he leaned in close to her ear. "I have something very special planned for tomorrow if you are up for it." He said in a husky voice that made shivers run down Poppy's spine. She knew what he meant at least part of it and she was more than ready to give herself over to him completely. She just needed to get a little special outfit first from Satin and Chenille.
When Viva, Ozzy, Peppy, and Delta were far enough away they started to laugh and giggle like they were teenagers again getting away with something they knew they were not supposed to do. When they stopped to catch their breaths they were panting through their smiles and placing their hands on their old achy knees. All except Ozzy who was in his wheelchair laughing alongside his friends. "I have not had that much fun in years." Ozzy weezed out. "You know we shouldn't have done that." Peppy tried to reason but his smile betrayed him. "That's why it's fun." Ozzy side teasing his friend. "I have to say. Peppy you were right when you said all I needed was to watch those two to understand Branch better. I feel foolish now for ever doubting him." Viva confessed. Peppy and Viva had told Delta and Ozzy why they had wanted to watch Branch and Poppy. Ozzy had agreed with his childhood friend that Viva just needed a chance to see that Branch's actions towards her daughter were indeed pure. Delta had thought back to when she and Saphhire were little kids and she would get the smaller blue troll into all sorts of trouble. She also remembered all the times she just knew that Sapphire was much smarter than her because of all the times she had gotten them out of said trouble. Delta chuckled at the memories. She missed Sapphire dearly and could only hope she would have supported Ozzy moving on with her.
When the four trolls finally calmed down they all sat down on logs that were nearby except for Ozzy. They thought back to what they saw. The love between their children. Also Peppy and Ozzy might know something that the two ladies did not. "They really are good for one another aren't they." Viva said more than asked. Peppy smiled at his wife as he took her hand. "I'm so glad you finally see that, because Branch came to me yesterday to ask a very important question. He had asked me for my blessing to marry Poppy." Delta and Viva were more than excited when they heard this. "He is probably going to do it soon too. I pulled out my mother's ring from storage and gave it to Branch earlier this week. Since John gave Val Sapphire's. Branch had it resized to fit Poppy." Ozzy explained. Delta looked to her husband. "Why didn't you tell me this sooner?" Delta said lightly poking her husband. "Because it was supposed to be a surprise." Ozzy said laughing. Viva was in tears. "I can not believe my baby girl is going to get married." Peppy smiled big he just knew that when the day came Branch would make an excellent King to rule by Poppy's side.
So another one done another one done another chapter done. Yeah. Ok I hope to get the next chapter posted real soon. It is one of the pre-written chapters, so hopefully it will not take me that long to finish. I have really been pushing to see how many I can pump out in a day.
