Just when I thought I was done writing one shots in response to the stupidity of Arrow and the more…obedient, for lack of a better word, part of its fan base.

For Daredevil, this takes place after A New Napkin while for Arrow, this takes place after Lian Yu (Whether they island exploded or Oliver stopped it is up to interpretation). For how Oliver and Matt know each other, let's say they met at some point after Hong Kong before Waller dragged Oliver back into her mess.

New York

Day

Oliver walked into a bar, one of the nicer ones in the area, he noted absently as he looked around. After a few moments, he saw who he was looking for: a seeming blind man waiting at a table.

"Oliver," the man greeted as he approached the table.

"Matt. Good to see you're okay," Oliver said as he sat down across from Matt.

"You mean not dead. Wasn't for lack of trying on the part of Midland Circle collapsing and then Fisk," Matt noted. "I heard about what happened with that Throwing Star Killer."

"Chase. Makes Fisk look like a bad joke," Oliver said bitterly and Matt smiled tightly.

"I wouldn't be so sure," Matt said and it was silent for a moment. "How's your son doing?"

"Pretty shaken up. It's not every day you learn who your father is and are kidnapped by a psychopath," Oliver said with a heavy sigh. "I can't help but feel like it's my fault."

"You may have killed Clayborne, but you had no way of knowing that his son was so disturbed," Matt argued but Oliver shook his head.

"That's not what I mean. When I found out Chase was Prometheus, I involved his wife, hoping that she would talk him down, convince him to turn himself in. And Chase killed her," Oliver said with a sigh as Matt sat there, horrified. "And I can't help but wonder if him involving William was payback."

"Oliver…the man was a psychopath. He murdered his own wife, just for trying to talk him into turning himself in. He killed how many people? Most of them just to hurt you. Chase was probably always going to go after William, he was insane and he wanted to see you suffer. You can't blame yourself for his actions. You need to forgive yourself," Matt told him and Oliver smiled tightly.

"An old friend told me the exact same thing recently," Oliver remembered.

"Well you should take their advice. I've been thinking a lot on the nature of forgiveness lately. If we didn't have the ability to forgive, we'd probably have wiped ourselves out a long time ago. Forgiveness is part of moving forward. Not just forgiving others, but forgiving ourselves. Only with forgiveness can we move forward," Matt said passionately and it was silent for a moment.

"You just can't turn off the lawyer, can you?" Oliver joked and the two laughed. "But you're right; I can't keep blaming myself for everything that goes wrong. It's time to move on. Gotta move on."

"I'll drink to that," Matt said and raised a glass. "To moving on."

"To moving on," Oliver said, raising the drink that had just been put on the table by the waiter.

The pair clicked glasses before taking a drink, Oliver promising himself he would work on forgiving himself.

So, was on a clip of Oliver and Malcolm breaking Chase out of ARGUS custody for research and there were actually people in the comments trying to say Chase was right about Oliver involving Doris, even saw one that said Chase would never have involved William if Oliver had left Doris alone.

I honestly don't expect much from the Arrow fandom after many bought the 'Oliver likes killing' bs, but the idea that Chase was right about anything is laughable. His entire character is built on hypocrisy and projection, denying all responsibility by blaming Oliver and projecting all his insanity onto him. Even if Chase was right about Doris (he wasn't but for the sake of argument), in no way did that justify or validate him involving William, who was a child guilty of nothing. Pardon my bluntness, but you really have to be a special class of idiot to buy Chase's bs.

Well, that's all for today. Go away now.
