Duo Halfbreeds

Chapter Twenty-Four: Breakout

"BOOM!" The sound of a shockwave erupted forth as a fist clashed into another's palm. That same fist was quickly retracted, slamming itself at a different position but again the same result, a shockwave generated from a perfect block.

"You can do better than that! Show me ferocity! I want you to punch like you mean it!" Turles shouted. Him and Gohan were in the training room, once again sparring. Gohan bared his fangs, leaping forward and hurled a barrage of attacks, each movement he made, each attack he threw, was predicted by Turles with ease, resulting in a small yet resounding shockwave instead.

Gohan growled. "I am!" He said, leaping forward, thrusting his knee forward. Turles tilted his head back, causing Gohan to pass by him. As Gohan passed him, Turles turned around and generated a blast of kiai to send Gohan crashing into the nearest wall.

A yelp of agonizing pain escaped Gohan before he stood back up once again. He pulled himself to his feet, turned and dashed swiftly, lunging at Turles, but mid-way, he stopped as he tried to predict Turles's next move, thinking he was going to swing his leg.

To Gohan's surprise, it was a feint, which made him attempt to block with his two arms crossed in front of him. However, Turles appeared behind Gohan, and thrusted his leg into Gohan's back, causing him to be sent several yards away.

Turles scoffed. "If you have a plan of attack, commit it to your actions! Your enemy will not give you the chance to rethink your situation." He said, his voice commanding and clear.

Gohan pushed himself up, rubbing his shoulder and wincing as he turned to Turles. "Well I thought you were going to kick me, so I was just trying to react quickly, I didn't expect that!"

Turles moved closer, approaching Gohan. "Always be prepared for the unexpected, you'll never know when your enemy will pull a fast one on you. By staying vigilant and ready, you can turn the tables on any surprise, transforming the unexpected into an opportunity for triumph"

Gohan formed a confused look. "Okay…but.. You're not the enemy? S-" Before he could finish, Gohan was whacked by Turles's pole.

"Missing the point, kid. I may not be your enemy, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't take this training as If I weren't. You never know what could happen." Turles explained. He sat down on the nearby bench as Gohan pulled himself to his feet. "Let me tell you a little something about momentum…"

He continued. "Success thrives on commitment and momentum. Like a mighty river carving its path through obstacles, staying dedicated to your actions and maintaining forward momentum is key. Halting mid-way disrupts the flow, leading to stagnation and missed opportunities. "

Gohan gave a heavy sigh. "Alright, alright, I get it."

Again he was whacked by the pole, knocking him forward. "What did I say about how you speak?!"

Gohan gritted his teeth, resisting the urge to growl or groan as he pulled himself back up. "I understand, Sir."

Turles smirked. "Much better." He stood up and turned, motioning for Gohan to follow him. "We're heading back to the meditation room." He walked to the room with Gohan following behind him. Once entering the room and approaching the serene little view, Turles motioned for Gohan to sit down.

"I want you to search for that back room in your mind again. Take a deeper look." Turles said. "To truly understand something, we must take a deeper look, peering beneath the surface to unravel the hidden truths that lie within."

Gohan had a worried and scared look formed on his face. "Are you sure? I-I mean… It's really exhausting and hard to do that." He answered. "I don't know if I can."

Turles paced around the area. "You must be ready to face your fears head-on and commit it just like you commit to your actions in battle. If you let your fears control you, it'll swallow you whole and lead you to failure." He cocked his head to look directly at Gohan. "You're a Saiyan and a Saiyan has no fears nor barriers that we cannot overcome!"

"Half-Saiya-" Gohan went sliding several feet away yet again by the interruption of Turles's pole.

Turles clicked his tongue several times as he shook his head in disappointment. "When are you gonna learn?" He muttered. "Don't get technical with me, boy. Now come back, sit down, and do as I say."

Gohan began to sigh, stopping himself mid-way as he pushed himself up, and nodded. "Yes Sir." He replied. He walked over and sat down, closed his eyes, and relaxed as he listened to nothing but the sounds of the environment around him.

With each breath, his body became more and more laxed. Like a powerful vortex of water, Gohan was pulled deep into his mindscape, where slowly he had found the door once again. Swallowing hard, he reached for the doorknob, his hand visibly shaking, his body tense.

He stopped for a second, taking a breath as he relaxed his body, then continued, gripping onto the doorknob. As he turned the doorknob to a slight, the door pushed open and something flooded out from the door like a torrential wave of water. As he was struck with the wave of water, it caused him to snap back in reality, heavily panting.

"Again." Turles said.

Gohan gave a confused look. "W-What?"

"Again. You're not done yet, you need to withstand that initial tempest." Turles explained. Gohan nodded in response and closed his eyes once more. Again, like a raging torrent, water breached through, nearly blowing away, but this time, Gohan found his footing, his arms crossed in front of him.

The waves of water pushed him, as each passing second went by, slowly memories like wisps of a forgotten melody erupted through him, one at a time. The slightest second was suffocating, causing him to struggle to breathe.

"Relax, Gohan. You need to fight it. Memories cannot hurt you." Turles said. He paced around the area once more as he watched Gohan.

As his body became more visibly tense, Gohan began to see one of these memories…

((FLASHBACK))

Slicing through the air with a thunderous crack, a whip unfolded from a nearby person's hands. Its sound, a symphony of intensity and precision. In the fleeting moment, a sharp, explosive snap reverberated, echoing through the atmosphere like a lightning bolt's sharp discharge. It was a force that commanded attention, and could easily send a shiver down a spine, leaving a lingering sensation of power and raw velocity.

"What did I tell you? Get back up! You're not allowed to rest!" The words pierced the air, dripping with malevolence, as they slithered from the lips of an enigmatic figure. The voice, a vile symphony of darkness and unfamiliarity, yet in some ways familiar, echoed with an unnerving depth, sending tremors of fear through Gohan's every fiber. It was a chilling resonance that rattled Gohan's bones, quickened his pulse, and froze his thoughts in their tracks.

Instantly, Gohan responded, straightening his posture as he stood, his wrists, and ankles bound by chains to two tall poles that kept him mid-air. His body looked a bit malnourished, full of various cuts, scratches, and wounds.

Despite the agony that threatened to unleash a deluge of tears, he remained steadfast, his countenance a mask of emptiness.

((FLASHBACK END))

Gohan snapped back into reality, panting heavily, as tears forced their way through his eyes. Against his own wishes, the intense strain from it all caused him to sob lightly a bit for a short few seconds, before he gave himself a deep breath.

"That's a start. We'll have to work more on it later." Turles said. "I want you to remember, control your breathing and you'll be able to control both mind and body."

Gohan arched his brow. "Control my breathing and control my mind and body?"

Turles nodded. "Yes, Control your breathing, control your mind, control your breathing, control your body!" He said. "We'll take a break for now, you're still recovering from your injuries and it is best we do not over strain. You should rest."

Making his way to his cell, Gohan returned to the main yard, as he did, he noticed a familiar face. One that he thought was long gone.

His jaw slacked. "Daiz?!" He shouted. The man he was shouting out to was currently in a fight with someone else, a bit struggling against the person.

Daiz turned to look at the caller, his eyes wide and jaw slacked. "Goha-'' Before he could finish, his opponent took a cheap shot, slamming his fist into Daiz's cheek, sending Daiz several yards away. His opponent looked like some rock beast of sorts.

This rock beast had a circular body, with crevices all around him, resembling a conglomerate of stones. Its arms, legs, and face, made of solid and smooth rock, exuded an imposing presence. As an instinctive response, Gohan cocked his head and locked his gaze on the beast, his fangs bared, lunging at him.

A powerful kick to the side of his body sent the man or rock beast? Flying, crashing several yards away harshly into the unforgiving ground. The second after, seeing that the inmate was knocked unconscious, Gohan ran to Daiz and helped him up.

"I thought you were dead!" Gohan said, his mind racing with thoughts.

Daiz shook his head. "N-No, I wasn't dead. They captured me and took me somewhere…I'm…I'm not entirely sure where." He said, as he pulled himself up with help from Gohan. "I don't get it, I saw you leave..I saw you and Priamus make it! I know cause before I blacked out, I felt your ki reach the area."

A frowned on Gohan's form. "We…we didn't make it."

Daiz's demeanor changed. "So…there really is no hope for escaping here, is there?" He asked. Gohan nodded in response. Daiz gave a heavy exasperated sigh before clenching his fist and slamming the column behind him. "Damn it! We're all screwed!"

"Screwed you say?" A voice says. Daiz turns around to see a cloaked figure behind Gohan.

Daiz immediately becomes suspicious, his face carrying uncertainty. "Who are you?" He asked.

The man chuckled. "Who am I? Why I am yo-"

"This is Turles!" Gohan said, joyfully, a big smile forming on his face.

Turles growled. "Damn it, runt! I was trying to be all mystical! And…mysterious!"

Gohan frowned. "How was I supposed to know?"

Turles huffed and rolled his eyes. "Whatever, the moment's over."

Daiz arched his brow. "Turles? I thought you went off, chasing that whole cuckoo Tree of Might thing."

Turles gave an impassive look. "Cuckoo? For your information, I am looking for it and it isn't cuckoo! I know it's out there! I'll find it!"

Gohan looked confused. "Wait, you guys know each other?"

Daiz nodded. "Yea, Turles and I go way back. I used to be on his crew buuuut…." His face look annoyed. "He decided he wanted to go chase after some crazy legend."

"It's not crazy! And I will find it!" Turles added. "Daiz was both our pilot and shipswain, he was great at getting away from whoever was chasing us, and always keeping a check on our supplies. Even landed us once on a ship with half an engine!"

Daiz scoffed. "Which again, was not fun." He replied. "How do you and Turles know each other?" His gaze moved to Gohan.

A smile formed on Gohan's face as he nodded. "Turles has been helping me train." He answered.

A further confused look formed on Daiz's face. "Wait…what? What do you mean…where's Priamus, I thought he was training you?" He said. Gohan's demeanor changed completely, his smile disappeared into a frown, his gaze locked to the ground, tension visible. Instantly, Daiz knew. "They got him too…didn't they? Illusi, Kukmop, and Priamus? They're all gone.."

Gohan nodded in response. "Damn it! Without them we'll never be able to escape!"

Turles raised his brow. "Escape you say?" He chuckled wickedly, causing the two to turn their attention towards him. "If it's escape you want, I can get you out of here no problem."

Gohan looked flabbergasted. "Wait, if you could've done that, how come you haven't said anything before?"

Turles cocked his head towards Gohan. "You weren't ready. Still not a hundred percent ready but now would be the perfect time to leave anyhow."

"Why would it be perfect now?" Daiz asked.

Turles moved his gaze to Daiz. "Why?" He said. "Low on reinforcements, still constructing the new arena, I'd say the Warden is overloaded with work that we could pass by with ease. Just need a plan."

Daiz sighed. "Well we had the blueprints of the place but it was back at our old hideout, and the only way to get to that was getting to the old sewers. We were only able to do that with Illusi to disguise ourselves, but seeing as he's gone, that isn't possible anymore."

"Don't worry about that, I'll get the blueprints myself." Turles smirked.

Daiz looked confused. "How?"

"Like I said, don't worry, I have it covered." Turles answered. "But..Later. I'd like to know how you got here.."

Daiz gave an exasperated sigh. "Well…."

After having caught up, several hours later, It began to get late, time for all prisoners to head to their cells. However, a bit before, Turles had a little thing to do. He walked up to the singular guard by the main facility.

"Halt! Return to your cell, Prisoner!" The guard shouted. "Prisoners are not permitted beyond this door!"

Turles chuckled. "Oh I wasn't going beyond the door." He said.

The guard formed a confused look on his face. "What?"

"Look! A bunch of prisoners trying to escape!" Turles said, pointing to the right.

The guard's confused expression grew. "What prison-" Before he could finish, Turles stabbed something into his neck, a syringe of some kind. It caused the Guard's body to tense as it froze in place before he fell unconscious.

Turles dragged the guard away into the main facility and moved into the laundry hall, where he took the guard's uniform and trident away from him. He then put the guard deep in a cart full of dirty laundry and left the room.

He left the room the moment after and walked through the main facility, walking through the old train way that would lead to the colosseum. Turles acted quickly and stayed within the shadows to keep himself hidden.

As he arrived near the colosseum where it once stood, where parts were still somewhat standing, barely, Turles looked through the inside halls, eventually finding an old and dusty door just past the bathrooms nearby.

A smirk cracked on Turles face. "Good. Thought I was gonna have to find a different entrance, but it appears this is still intact!" He said. He pushed open the door and walked past it, entering a much darker place with a much more volatile smell.

Turles flared his aura, illuminating the area around him for over fifteen feet, revealing the disgusting interior of the sewers which he was in. "Daiz said I should be able to find it if I walk about a couple hundred feet forward then turn right and continue walking that way." He thought.

About a few minutes passed before Turles reached the hideout. He walked to the door, pushing it open with his hand, the door creaking as he did. The place was dark, dusty, and littered with cardboard boxes like before.

There however was this one table, with a turned off light above it. Turles walked to it and tried to turn on the lightbulb but it seemed to be dead.

"Looks like it needs a little charge." Turles thought out loud. He aimed his index finger at the lightbulb, gathering energy to his finger, before shooting out a yellow electrical current at the bulb. The bulb flashed a couple of times as it turned itself on. "Now where are those blueprints?"

Turles looked around the room, it wasn't on the table, nor underneath or in between any of the cardboard boxes. "If I were any other cunning prisoner, where would I hide a blueprint?" Turles wondered, his finger tapping his chin. "Certainly in the most unexpected place, but that could be anything."

He sat down on the chair sighing. "Man, this could take a little longer than I thought." His gaze moved to the table as he leaned back and forth with the chair. A couple seconds passed and he noticed something in the reflection of the table. "Ah! Hidden in plain sight is it!"

He tilted his head to look up and float to the ceiling, grabbing the blueprints that were stuck to the wall. "We'll read these later, for now, I better hurry back."

The next morning…

Daiz yawned as he woke up and got out of his horribly uncomfortable cell bed, cracking his back as he stood up. An exasperated sigh escaped him as he exited his cell and entered the yard, the sun shining brightly on the ground.

His eyes were quick to notice the large barrel several yards in the distance. "Time to see how this goes." An exhausted look formed on his face as he walked forward and got in line. Each minute that passed by another prisoner had left the line. It wasn't til almost twenty-four minutes later that Daiz was able to get in line.

However, as he reached for the tray, a hand…tentacle? Or something got in Daiz's way before he could. "Sorry pal, I'm under orders to restrict you from eating. You can get some water and that's it."

Daiz sighed. "Seriously?"

The reddish-brown octopus-like creature nodded. "Warden's orders. Nothing I can do about it."

Another heavy sigh escaped Daiz. "Fine. Whatever." He grabbed a cup and walked to the water pump, filling the cup. Once he gulped down the water, he crushed the cup and threw it. "Now where are Turles and the kid?"

He looked around the yard, noticing both nowhere to be found. "Might as well get the blood flowing." He shrugged. Daiz walked to the training yard, opening and walking past the door as it closed behind him.

As he entered, he noticed a bit of a surprising sight. "The kid's training?" He watched for a moment, there was something different. "I've never seen him so…determined before." He thought, stating the obvious. Gohan was sparring with Turles, trying to throw a hit at Turles but only ended up getting whacked by the pole in Turles's hand.

Daiz walked up the two, being quickly greeted by Gohan. "Daiz! You're up" He smiled, turning to face Daiz completely.

"Yea…morning to you too, kid." Daiz's gaze trailed over to Turles. "So how did obtaining the blueprints go?"

Turles pulled a rolled thick blue paper from his pockets and unraveled it. "Does that answer your questions?"

Daiz nodded. "That's great! Now we ca-" He paused as Turles abruptly burnt the blueprints into flames. "What the hell did you do that for?!"

Turles chuckled. "Ha! Those blueprints are useless! We don't need them. If this were weeks ago, maybe." He answered.

Daiz formed a perplexed look on his face. "Then how are we gonna …yknow?" He asked. Turles motioned for both of the fighters to move in closer to him.

"Pretty simple plan. We use a hostage, with how understaffed this place is, escaping will be a cinch!" Turles answered.

"A hostage?" Daiz's face looked impassive. "Turles, Duran won't care about any hostage, he'll kill us and the hostage!"

Turles chuckled wickedly. "Not if the hostage IS Duran. We'll tie him up and everything, keep him from speaking. Duran will do anything and I mean ANYTHING to keep his record of escapees down to 0. Even if that means having him killed in the crossfire."

Daiz's face lit up. "So if we cut off all communications with him to his unit, they won't even know what to do!"

Turles nodded. "Bingo! It's a matter of getting to Duran, and I know exactly how to get there."

Daiz raised a brow. "How?"

"The fool owes me a favor, I probably won't be able to get anything special like Guard uniforms or access cards, but a potato sack I can." Turles explained. "We can use the sack to put Duran in after of course we tie him with some rope and cover his mouth. We'll sneak in at night, take some guard uniforms, and break into his office."

Daiz took a second to think. "It has some flaws but this plan definitely could work."

"Sounds like a great plan, where do I fit in?" A voice spoke from behind, raspy and gruff, yet also deep and resonating.

The three turned around, to face this tall and bulky man. He had this reddish-skin color, his shoulders were very broad, his jaw large, and a donned a white-brown color schemed battle armor that had several short spikes protruding from the back.

His hair was a braided ponytail, there were pink sashes covering his lower leg and the majority of his boot, a pink sash around his left arm, a blue wristband on the right, and blue-red gi pants.

Daiz had an annoyed, somewhat angry look on his face. Gohan looked confused and Turles cracked a smirk. "That depends. How fast can you get a getaway ship?"

The man laughed loudly. "Getaway ship? Piece of cake! You leave that to me."

Turles widened his smirk. "Good. Then it's settled, we're leaving tonight." He said. The others looked shocked.

"Tonight? Turles, don't you think that's a bit soon?" Daiz asked.

Turles shook his head. "Nonsense, the sooner the better. Tonight is the perfect time to strike." He answered. "We'll meet back here tonight and hide out while the guards do their perimeter check." He looked back at the new guy. "And you'll make sure that ship comes…"

"Amond." The man spoke.

"You'll make sure that ship comes, Amond, otherwise I'm taking you down with me." Turles said.

Amond gave a short chuckle. "Don't worry, it'll be here."

The Night of..

As the sun had been long since set and night came, the guards did their perimeter check around all of the cells, assuring all prisoners were inside. Strangely, they noticed a cell on the far west was open.

"That's…weird?" He said. "How is the door open, it shouldn't be open unless we ope-" Before he could finish, a shadow swept upon, sticking a needle in the side of his neck, causing him to tense, freeze, then blackout.

"One down…a few more to go." The shadow smirked. He grabbed the guard, stripped him of his uniform and dragged the unconscious guard into his cell bed, covering him up. He took the uniform of the guard, making it his own as he walked down the halls.

Another guard spoke to him as he walked by. "Hey Sorghrum, Is the west wing clear?" He asked. The shadow nodded, then lifted his head, a wicked smirk as the guard's eyes widened, seeing his face. "Y-You're no-!"

Another syringe stab knocked the guard out. "Two down, two more to go." Turles chuckled wickedly. He took this guard, headed for Daiz's cell, and threw him in there, handing the uniform to Daiz. "Put this on, follow my lead."

Daiz nodded in response, following along Turles as the two moved to the east wing of the prison, heading towards the north end of its hall. Where he pulled a keyring from his pocket, flipping through several different rings.

Gohan shot up and looked to his door. "W-What're you doing? I didn't do anything, I-I swear!"

Turles opened the gate and moved closer, holding his index finger up to his mouth. "It's us kid.. Ssshh" He whispered.

Gohan looked surprised. "Oh, I didn't recognize you with that helmet on." He said.

Turles motioned his hand for Gohan to follow them. "Follow me. We're going to get our new…friend." He answered. "And watch carefully, we need to be fast, careful, and stealthy." He vanished into thin air like a shadow of the night, with Gohan panicking slightly as he tried to catch up.

The group headed to the second level of the prison, stopping when they heard some footsteps coming around from the corner in front of them. Turles signaled them to stop, then looked up, instantly he had an idea.

As the guard pulled over, a hint of suspicion in his eyes, he noticed the guard on the other side. "Oh Sorghrum!" He said, walking closer now that he knew it was safe. "Didn't realize that it was you, honestly I thought it was someone else. Had me worried for a second there."

No response, the guard was confused. "Sorghrum?" Before he knew it, his body had tensed up, his eyes wide as they could be, as he saw who this person truly was. He quickly blacked out as Turles retracted the syringe and then grabbed this guy by the collar of the shirt.

"You guys can come down now." Turles said. From above, attached to the ceiling of the overhang, both Daiz and Gohan dropped down. They headed to the second level of the center wing right after, finding Amond's cell, six cells down to the right of the entrance.

Amond's head lifted up as he noticed them, walking in front of his cell, his eyes filled with suspicion. He was quick to understand the situation. "It's about time you showed up." His eyes glanced down as he noticed a guard into Turles's hand. "Who's that?"

"Your disguise." Turles grinned. After stripping the guard of his uniform, Amond put it on as a disguise and the four headed to the main facility.

Though a question had formed in Gohan's mind. "Where's my disguise?" He asked.

Turles stopped and turned, with a flick of his hand, a yellow energy chain appeared attached to ki cuffs that were on Gohan's wrist. "You'll be our prisoner, anyone who asks, we'll just say we have some special orders."

Gohan raised a brow. "Are you sure that's a good idea? What if we get into a fight?"

Turles gave a dismissive wave. "No worries, it'll dissipate immediately. It's weak ki cuffs anyways, nothing special." He explained. He motioned for Gohan to follow them as they headed towards the main facility. The two guards in front of them, whose tridents were blocking the path, lifted their tridents immediately before noticing Gohan, stopping both Turles and him.

"What's with the kid, Sorghrum?" One of the two guards asked. One tall and bulky, and the other short and slim.

"Duran's orders. Says he needs the kid for a special task." Turles responded in a raspy & gruff voice.

The shorter guard raised an eyebrow. "You okay, Sorghrum? You sound off…""

Turles nodded. "Yea just a bit of a sore throat." He answered. "Choked on something yesterday that uh scratched my throat."

The shorter guard waited a moment, examining him then lifted his trident and shrugged. "Well hope ya get that fixed, sore throats are no fun." He said.

Turles and Gohan walked through the main facility, catching up with the other two. As they started to take steps forward, another guard in front of them saw them.

"Hey guys!" He said, joyfully. He quickly noticed the weird look on them. "Wait…weren't you guys checking the perimeter…." Turles lifted his head up, showing his face, causing the Guard's jaw to slack. He ran towards the Warden's room and began knocking on the door.

"NOT NOW!" Duran yelled. "I'm busy!"

"B-But Duran!"

Duran snarled. "Go away!" The knocking stopped and Duran sighed with relief as he continued to write on some paper. A short moment later there was knocking again, in a different pattern. "I told you, I'm b-" The door slammed opened, revealing four prisoners in his office.

"If we were just gonna barge in here, what was the point of the disguises!" Daiz remarked.

Turles chuckled. "Having a little fun that's all!" He answered. A sheepish smile was on his face which filled Daiz with immense irritation.

Duran reacted quickly, pressing the button on his scouter. "I need all units to report no-!" He shouted. Turles flicked the syringe into Duran's neck, causing him to tense, freeze, and then black out. Turles lifted the potato sack and handed it to Daiz.

"Get to packin!" Turles smirked.

Daiz sighed heavily, rolling his eyes. He shook the potato sack, causing it to fill with air and open up wider. He walked to Duran, tied his wrists together, his ankles, then with another piece of rope his mouth. Daiz grabbed the scouter and removed it off of Duran's face, then threw Duran in the sack of potato.

Daiz turned to Turles after the potato sack was hanging over his shoulder. "Now what?"

Turles looked at Amond. "The ship?"

Amond smirked. "All ready to go. It's about eight thousand yards north from here." He answered. "What about all the soldiers that Duran called to here?"

Turles laughed. "You mean the measly other five? Not a problem." He moved his hand to Daiz. "Daiz." Daiz placed the scouter on Turles's hand and Turles put it on. "Any single one of you who is coming for us, coming after us, we have the Warden. He's in our hands, tied up, unable to due anything. If you even THINK about stopping us, he'll get it!"

The five soldiers who were in various areas, one just reaching the door, another flying towards the main facility, one in the training yard, another around the temp arenas, and another on the outside of a prison, all stopped.

"Release the Warden, you bastard!" One yelled through the scouter.

Turles gave a wicked chuckle. "Nope, not happening. We'll be holding him where if you even so much as look at us, we'll kill him." He replied. "So what's it gonna be…Lieutenant?"

The lieutenant sighed. "You dirty little rat."

"I'll leave him on the ground, once we leave I'll give you the location." Turles answered. He removed his finger from the scouter and looked at the others. "Let's go."

They went through the window of Duran's office, slipped out, and flew off. "Isn't this…a little too easy?!" Daiz shouted.

Turles shook his head. "Not at all. Trust me, this isn't the hard part." He explained. "Between all the circumstances surrounding the place recently, of course it's a cakewalk!"

"Then what will be the hard part?" Daiz shouted.

"Actually, leaving sight of them from this part of the galaxy!" Amond said, quick to answer. "You can escape the prison, escape the planet, but you can never escape the corporation itself!"

Turles nodded, a grin formed on his face. "Bingo! You sure know a lot, Amond!"

Amond nodded. "When you've been around as long as I have, you get to know quite a few things!"

At around the same time…

The remainder of the guards all gathered up, including the ones who were knocked out. "We cannot let these prisoners escape. We must stop them at all costs and retrieve the Warden!" The lieutenant shouted. "However, we still need a few watching the prisoners around here." His eyes moved to the few that had no uniform on. "And since you lot were the idiots that let this happen, you will be stuck on that job!"

Their bodies were tensed, their eyes locked on to the lieutenant, their muscles tightened. "Y-Yes Sir!" They all said simultaneously, being dismissed the second after.

"As for the rest of you! With me!" He shouted. The lieutenant flared his aura and flew off with the remaining flying and following the second after.

Within seconds, Turles and the others could feel their energy coming their way. "We need to hurry!" Turles shouted.

"Won't be long now! Look!" Amond shouted, pointing to the distance. They could see the ship slowly coming in view, it wasn't big, but it was good enough. The ship looked almost like that of a submarine, with several legs to keep it up, and several oval shaped windows on the sides, as well as an oval shape in the front.

The group sped up and landed in front of the ship. The ship's hatch door opened automatically, and Amond, moving forward, signaled for the others to follow. "Come on!" Amond said. One by one they ran into the hatch, except…Gohan.

"Agh!" A loud groan of pain escaped Gohan's mouth as the Lieutenant guard grabbed Gohan by his throats with his arm. He aimed his other hand at Gohan and formed a wicked smirk on his face.

"None of you move! Return Duran or the child gets it!" He shouted.

The group stopped and turned their attention to below. Turles snarled, his teeth gritting. "Two can play in that game!" Turles swiftly grabbed the potato sack Duran was in, and lifted him by his neck, placing a different syringe at Duran's neck. "Release him or I'll give Duran something worse than death!"

The Lieutenant scoffed. "And what makes you think you're in any way to negotiate? You do that, you're still not leaving here alive." He answered. "You have no real leverage, you don't kill him, we're still coming after you, you kill him, we're still coming after you. You come quietly now, and you might survive!"

Turles growled angrily. "Really? Let's test how loyal you are to your Warden." He said. "If I inject this chemical into your Boss's bloodstream, he'll have to live everyday in excruciating agony, as his body slowly breaks down on him in the worst way imaginable!" He put the syringe closer.

"As long as we take you down, it won't matter." The lieutenant smirked. "As long as his record isn't broken, as long as you're returned to the prison or killed, whatever it be, he'll be fine with that." He tightened his grip on Gohan and placed his hand closer. "So what's it gonna be?"

Turles sighed heavily. "Fine." He took a step forward and moved the syringe away from Duran's neck.

"Turles? Are you seriously just going to give up?" Daiz's jaw slacked.

Turles shrugged. "Sorry, nothing I can do…" His eye twitched a couple of times. "We'll just have to give ourselves up…and yknow.." his eyes twitched a couple of more times. "Hope that we can save the brat." His eyes continued to twitch.

Daiz was a bit flabbergasted by this. "Is something wrong with your e-" A jab from Amond got him to stop, Daiz's gaze moved to Amond who gave a signaling glance. Immediately, Daiz got what was going on, his posture looking lax. "Oh…I see. Fine you guys got us, just don't hurt the kid."

The lieutenant laughed. "Good. All come willingly, I'll release him as soon as you hand us the warden and step away from the ship."

The three stepped down from the Ship's ramp and then Turles tossed Duran over. "Okay. Release the kid. We can't go anywhere anyways." He said.

The lieutenant smirked. He placed Gohan down, his tight grip releasing, but before Gohan could go anywhere, ki binds on both his wrists and ankles. "That is about as far as he's getting. Now come over here so I can chain you fools up too."

Turles walked forward, getting closer to the lieutenant, then in a blinding flash, he shot a blue steel syringe into the lieutenant's neck. The ki binds on Gohan's wrists and ankles disappeared as the lieutenant guard dropped to the ground and became unconscious immediately.

Turles grabbed Gohan and threw him in the ship. "GO NOW! START THE SHIP AMOND!" Turles yelled. Amond was quick to respond, but as quick as he was, so were the other guards to attack Turles. Daiz jumped in, knocking one guard off of Turles, then fired a blast at the other guard that Turles was fighting.

"Let's go!" Daiz said, turning around to run up the ramp.

Turles nodded in response, then as the guards pulled themselves up, he grabbed Duran, and placed the syringe near Duran's neck. "Don't move! Or I'll inject him with it!" As the ramp of the ship closed up, Turles hopped onto it, about four feet before it closed, and the other guards without direction from the lieutenant were at a loss.

The potato sack with Duran rolled off the ramp, the last few seconds before it closed and not even a full moment later, the ship took off.

To be continued…
