She led them through the kitchen and outside, only to go into the magical tent they'd all set up earlier. It was set up similar to a church and she came to a stop just outside the doors leading to where the guests were seated.
Taking Scorpius from Harry, she kissed the boy's cheeks and passed him to Severus, "Remus, Sirius, Severus, you go in with the other guests. Sit on the right side, Harry's side. Remus, Siri, there should be empty spots for you and Teddy in the front row, he'll meet you after his walk down with the rings." The three men disappeared through the doors and she crouched down in front of Teddy, "Little wolf, you stay here with Draco. I'm going to take Uncle Harry down and get him ready, when Aunt Ginny gets here can you come get me? Then we'll get this started, yeah?"
"Can I wait outside for Aunt Ginny?" Teddy asked, bouncing on his heels.
Hermione looked at Draco, who nodded, "Take Draco with you. Drake, don't let him get too messy." The Slytherin grinned, "I will hex you."
He raised his hands in surrender and led the boy outside. She watched them go, but before the flaps of the tent closed, Harry was guiding her into the main area where all the guests were waiting. It was a short walk, but at the end, she smiled and hugged Kingsley before turning back to Harry, who was running his hands through his hair nervously again.
"Stop that," she reprimanded, swatting his hands. Using her wand, she re-tamed his hair only to swat his hands away again as he started on his tie. "You're squirming worse than Teddy."
"I'm nervous, Mione."
"Don't be. You and Ginny love each other. You'll be an amazing husband." Harry nodded but pulled Hermione into a fierce hug that made her laugh. "Everyone can see you breaking down," she whispered in his ear. "It's nothing new to me, but you're showing weakness. In public."
He laughed as she meant him to and released her. With a smile on her face, she smoothed out his shirt and robes before doing so to her own dress. Teddy burst through the doors and Hermione saw a flash of white.
Teddy yelled as he ran down the aisle, "She's ready, Mini!"
Several people in the crowd burst into laughter, and she met him halfway, only to scoop him up after giving Harry a quick kiss on the cheek, "Let's get this started then." Teddy's hair turned a bright shade of orange in his embarrassment but it calmed to his sand brown, tinted turquoise when they disappeared behind the doors. "Oh Ginny, you look breathtaking!" she gushed, setting Teddy down so Molly could hand him the rings.
Ginny latched on to Hermione's arms, and only then did Hermione realize she was shaking lightly.
"Is he alright?"
"He's just fine but I can't say the same for his hair," Hermione grinned.
Ginny bit back a little laughter and nodded to her mother, who disappeared to take her seat. They heard the music start and Hermione ushered Teddy down the aisle with a reminder to go sit with his father after handing the rings to Kinsley.
"You ready for this, Mia?" Draco asked, extending his arm to her.
"Yes," she smirked, taking his arm. She sent a wink over her shoulder to Ginny and let Draco lead her through the doors. Hermione's eyes immediately trained on raven black hair and a small head of white hair on Harry's side of the room, and she unknowingly clung harder to Draco's arm.
"Mia?"
"Sorry," she loosened her grip.
They reached the end of the aisle and Draco kissed her temple before moving to stand beside Harry. Hermione stood on her own and turned to the entrance, fighting with herself not to look at the man in black just within her peripherals. The music changed, and once more, everyone turned in time to see Ginny emerge, a vision in white, escorted by her father, Arthur. Hermione saw Harry stumble back; Draco steadied him and whispered in his ear. After a questioning look at Draco, he gave her a look that said he handled it, and she breathed a sigh of relief.
Ginny reached them and Arthur passed her hand to Harry, Hermione took her bouquet and winked at Teddy in his seat before turning her attention to Kingsley.
Hermione listened as the ceremony continued but felt a set of eyes on her, and despite knowing she was at the front of a room with all the guest's attention focused on them, she blushed, letting herself think it was Severus. She shifted her weight from hip to hip occasionally and tried to steady her breathing.
I don't even know if he's actually looking at me.
It's Severus, stop it.
I'm pregnant.
Godric Hermione, pay attention.
She refocused on the minister just in time to listen to her best friends exchange their vows and watch them bind to one another magically before exchanging rings. It was something Hermione and Ron decided not to do, and for that, she was thankful. Magically bound couples could not divorce. Their magic and souls were bound, if divorce or separation was even attempted they would most likely die before the ceremony was finished.
The crowd cheered as the newly married couple faced them and began down the aisle once more. Hermione moved to stand beside Draco, he wrapped his arm around her shoulder as she leaned into it, "What did you say to him?"
Draco took a deep breath, "That I felt the same way when I saw Astoria."
Her eyes immediately welled with fresh tears, "Oh, Drake..."
He kissed her temple before turning to address the crowd of guests. "Ladies and gentlemen, the bride and groom ask that you join them in further celebrating their union in the reception hall to your left," Hermione indicated to the doors that appeared to their right as he spoke after wiping the stray tear that threatened to fall. Guests began to rise and Draco helped her off the stage, moving his hand to her lower back. Teddy met her with Remus and Sirius just as Draco once more let her go and disappeared into the crowd.
"Mini, can we dance?" Teddy asked as he climbed into her arms.
"Of course, love! But for now, you need to go with Daddy and Pads because I need to tend to Uncle Harry and Gin. After you eat, come get me, and we will dance!"
"Okay!" She passed him to Remus and she watched them go before walking around the crowd towards the doors Harry and Ginny disappeared through. "Oh!" she exclaimed turning her back the moment she made it through.
"Sorry, Mione," Ginny called.
Hermione shook her head, biting back a laugh, "I'm sorry to interrupt, but I need Ginny before you enter the reception area." She looked over her shoulder, and seeing them no longer connected, she turned. "You just couldn't wait, huh, Harry?" He blushed furiously and she laughed. "I'll be quick," she winked at him.
With a quick wave of her wand, Ginny's dress morphed into a knee-length version, easier to dance and travel in. When she was done, Ginny gushed, "Oh Hermione, it's wonderful. Thank you!"
Hermione winked at the pair and turned towards the reception doors. She quickly maneuvered through the tables and found her spot, squished between the twins who fixed her with identical grins as she sat down. Harry and Ginny entered shortly after, and the room erupted in applause. Dinner was served magically and eaten just after the couple took their seats. Toasts were made, Harry and Ginny had their first dance while everyone watched, and when they were done, Harry nodded to Sirius, who grinned just before jumping into his seat.
"With that beautiful dance, let's get this party started!"
Everyone laughed as he launched himself across the table and grabbed Hermione, pulling her from her seat and twirling her around.
"Sirius!" she cried but otherwise let him spin her around as others around the room grabbed partners and joined them.
"In my defense, it was Harry's idea," he breathed in her ear just before dipping her and pulling her back up.
She didn't reply, rather letting herself enjoy dancing before she was passed from Sirius to Fred without a single word spoken between them. Different family members took turns dancing with her constantly until she felt a small hand grab her dress and pull her attention away from Charlie Weasley. Teddy was looking up at her with puppy eyes.
"Mini, can we dance?" She heard Charlie chuckle just before kissing her temple and releasing her to the young boy.
"Here you are, young man. It is an honor to dance with such a beauty," Charlie drawled as he passed her hand to Teddy.
Teddy smiled and nodded at his uncle, "Yes, Uncle Charlie."
Hermione swept him up into her arms and they swayed to the edge of the dance floor before she set him down and crouched down slightly to better dance with him. Victoire joined in for a few dances, but eventually, when he looked exhausted, she knelt down.
"Do you want to go sit down, little wolf?"
He merely nodded, and she scooped him up again, moving them back toward the table where his father was. She set him down, and he all but collapsed into his father's side.
"You wore him out, Kitten!" Sirius teased.
"He wanted to dance, so we danced," she shrugged.
Hermione barely got a sip of her water before someone else tapped her shoulder.
"Mia, may I have this dance?"
She smiled as she turned around and took Draco's hand. He skirted her off smoothly as a slow song began and the number on the dance floor decreased.
"You've been very popular, Mia."
"I suppose so. It's not uncommon at these types of get-togethers, though. I'm surprised I even got a moment to take a breath."
"Or you just look absolutely alluring and no one wizard wants to go home without the chance to dance with the most beautiful woman in the room."
She playfully swatted his shoulder, "Ginny has that title tonight, don't let her hear you say that."
"I am not afraid of little red," he scoffed, although he looked over his shoulder. Hermione chuckled at his paranoid gesture. As the song ended, he led her back to the tables, "Want to see Scorp?"
She immediately brightened, "Of course, I've missed him tonight."
"Him or Severus?" Shocked, Hermione came to a bracing halt and looked panicked. "Mia, breathe. It's okay."
"Please tell me you haven't said anything!" she whispered.
Draco grinned, pulling her to continue their course, "I haven't and I wasn't even sure until just now. He's a good wizard, Mia, and he fits your 'wants' list."
She yanked his arm and pulled them to a stop once more, "That wasn't intentional. Please do not say anything. It doesn't matter anyway."
"How do you know that?" he replied deadpan.
Hermione huffed and looked around them before answering. "I am pregnant, Drake, newly divorced, and it just so happens my child is half Weasley. If it was any other Weasley besides Ronald, it might not matter, but it is, and it will. I was also one of his students, he won't see me as anymore than what I was, expect now I am the dunderhead who got knocked up and cheated on by Ronald fucking Weasley." She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and looked at him again, "I'm sorry, that was..." he smirked, "Shut up."
"As you wish, but don't be so quick to presume you know how he might feel about it."
She frowned at the implications behind his words and didn't realize they were working through the tables once more until they were stopped, and a small cry pulled her focus from her own thoughts.
"My little serpent!" she extracted him from Severus's grip without looking at him. "You look so handsome, love," she nuzzled his nose with her own. He giggled and she twirled around before turning back to Severus and allowing herself to really look at him.
He was wearing his usual back robes but upon closer inspection she could see they were lined in navy blue to match the color theme. His hair was pinned back to keep it from falling in his face and while his shirt and trousers were black, his tie was the same blue as her dress with a gold inlay.
"I'm glad you could make it. It's nice to see you in some color for a change, it suits you."
Severus quirked a questioning eyebrow, "Thank you, Miss Granger."
She felt her stomach drop and gave him a small smile in return just as someone called her name. Rolling her eyes, she took a deep breath and turned on a heel to face Molly.
"Oh, Scorpius, aren't you the cutest," she cooed, "Hermione dear, Harry is looking for you."
"I think I know what he wants," Hermione grinned. Turning back to the Draco and Severus, she smirked, "If you'll excuse me, gentlemen." She attempted to give Scorpius to his father, but he told her to take him, so she popped him on her hip as she left to navigate towards Harry's table. She stalled momentarily, seeing Ron standing beside Harry/
"This outta be fun, love," she cooed to Scorpius, making him giggle.
Harry saw her approach and smiled, "Hermione! Do you have it?"
Hermione grinned and withdrew a jewelry box from a hidden pocket in her dress. When she handed it to him, he opened it and somehow smiled brighter. As they spoke, Scorpius leaned over to Ron and tried to grab his hair.
"Oi! Keep him away from me!"
Stunned, Hermione immediately moved Scorpius to her other hip, effectively putting herself between Ron and Scorpius, who in turn started reaching for Harry's hair.
"He's a baby Ron," she scoffed. "He doesn't know what he's doing."
"He is Malfoy's spawn, keep him away from me."
Harry opened his mouth to speak, but Hermione replied first, "You're ridiculous, Ronald." Facing Harry, she untangled Scorpius's fingers from his hair with a little coaxing, "Come on, my little serpent, let Uncle Harry go, and we can go see Daddy again."
She winked at Harry as she untangled his hair and gave him a quick kiss on the cheek before starting back to where she'd last seen Draco.
"That's one thing I never understood," Ron called after her before she could take more than a step away. "How did you get comfortable being back in that house?"
She turned back to Ron, still careful to keep her body between him and Scorpius.
"What do you mean?"
"The Manor." Hermione paled. "You're so comfortable there, with them, I wonder how you got to that point. Tell me, did you let him fuck you on the blood-stained floor of the drawing room? Replace a bad memory with a good one?"
Hermione took a step back as if he'd hit her, left arm coming to curling in front of her instinctively, and before she could even regain her composure, she watched Harry pull back and hit Ron, sending him to the ground. Wide-eyed, she watched as Bill picked his brother up and hauled him up.
"How dare you! You have no right to suggest anything more has ever happened between Draco and me. And you sure as hell have no right bringing up that night!" she exclaimed when she finally found the words.
Harry stood at her side, Scorpius between them, with his arm around her waist. "Get him out of here, Bill."
"Gladly," he growled as he hauled his brother off to the side of the tent.
Hermione could feel eyes on them as they watched Bill drag Ron off but decided to ignore it and look at Harry instead. "I'm so sorry, Harry," she said softly.
"It's not your fault he decided to make a fool out of himself."
She gave him a half smile as Scorpius started to cry from his spot on her hip. "Go enjoy the rest of your party, Harry; it's all for you, after all. I need to settle him down. Send for me when you're ready to head off."
She kissed his cheek and skirted off with Scorpius. Reaching the edge of the room Hermione pulled Scorpius to her front and began to coo to him, letting the music surround her and wash away what just happened. Eventually, Scorpius calmed and dropped his head to her shoulder, but she continued to sway with him until she heard his breathing even out completely. Only then did she take another deep breath and scan the crowd for Draco. She found him quickly, still at his table with Severus.
As she moved towards them, she could feel eyes on her again and felt herself start to shake.
No.
When she reached the table, she sat down heavily and looked at Severus, "Help me." It was a plea and he came to her side immediately.
"When did you last take your potions?"
"This morning, like I always do."
"Fuck," he mumbled. Hermione eyebrows went up hearing his curse, but she tried to remain as steady as possible because she could still feel eyes on her. "Take this," a smooth vial was pressed into her hand and she uncorked it with her thumb and discretely swallowed it, making it look like she was tucking into Severus's embrace.
She coughed, handing him back the vial, "Gods, that's foul."
"Well, we make do with what we've got, yes?" She snickered and covered her mouth as her snickers started to progress into full-blow laughter. He smirked slightly, seeing her relax. "Now show me your hands."
Obediently, she held up her free hand, and all three of them grinned as it remained steady. "Thank you, Severus," she breathed, sagging slightly in her seat.
"Mia, what the fuck was that?"
She turned her face into Scorpius's hair and took a deep breath. "You'd think you'd recognize tremors."
"Don't play with me, Mia; what did Weasel say to you that made Harry hit him like that and clearly shook you up?"
Hermione sighed, "Don't ask questions you don't want the answer to. It will only make you mad and will do us no good now."
But he wouldn't be detoured. "Tell me!"
"No."
"Yes."
"You know, you're like an annoying brother I didn't ask for but got stuck with."
He put his hand on his heart in an exaggerated manner, "That hurt Mia, but I refuse to be detoured. What happened?"
"He freaked out when Scorpius went for his hair; when I defended him, he asked how I was able to get comfortable with you and could stand to be in the Manor," she evaded. Draco huffed, his glare fiery. Closing her eyes, she decided to continue, "He asked if I let you fuck me on the floor of the drawing room to replace a bad memory with a good one." She heard a sharp intake of breath from beside her and opened her eyes to look at Draco, a blush in her cheeks as she tried to ignore the man beside her. "I told you you wouldn't want to know!"
He narrowed his eyes, "That worthless bastard," he growled. "Like I'd even let you near that room!"
Hermione snorted, "As if I would go near it."
"I would demolish it if it weren't in the middle of the bloody manor."
"I know," Hermione nodded and started to sway as Scorpius shifted against her.
"Are you okay?"
"No. I'm exhausted, and the night isn't even over. I really just want to go home and sleep for the rest of the week." She unknowingly slumped into Severus, who quickly put an arm behind her in an attempt to steady her. Hermione's eyes fluttered at the feel of his fingers on her hip.
"It's the potion, it will make you drowsy."
She nodded and yawned.
Draco looked at the pair of them with a small smirk, "Rest, Mia. We'll wake you if anyone needs you."
"I shouldn't," she shook her head against Severus's shoulder. "They always need me," it ended in a yawn.
When she tried to sit up, Severus tightened his arm wrapped around her waist and kept her secured beside him. "Sleep, little witch. We'll keep everyone at bay until you're rested."
She never responded, she was already dozing off into the folds of his robes. She didn't notice when Draco slipped Scorpius from her grasp or when she subconsciously turned into Severus's hold once the babe was gone. The next thing she remembered was being woken an unknown amount of time later by Severus's gentle probing. She rolled her neck and gave him a small smile, and nodded to him in thanks.
When she stood, she swayed a little bit, "Easy, Hermione," he cooed in his silky baritone, pulling her into his side so she was a step in front of him with her right side pressed against his left side with his hand on her hip. They stayed that way as Harry and Ginny addressed their guests, thanking them for coming and inviting them to please continue to enjoy the rest of the evening. Harry gave her a look, and she discretely extracted herself from Severus's grip with a kiss on the cheek and escaped into the Burrow, where she met the newly wedded pair.
"Mione, thank you so much!"
"Don't worry about it, Gin; I would do it again in a heartbeat, as long as it was everything you wanted." She summoned her beaded bag and withdrew their portkey. "You have your bags, right?" Harry patted his robes and wiggled his eyebrows. "Alright," she chuckled, "Grab on. Enjoy your honeymoon."
They exchanged goodbyes, and when they were ready, she activated their portkey.
When they were gone, she let herself sag onto the counter. I kissed Severus, she gasped realizing what she'd done. It was only on the cheek. Like I do for everyone else, he won't think anything of it. She relaxed once more against the counter and exhaled slowly when the back door reopened, and she let out a small shriek before realizing who had come into the house.
"Aunt Mini, did I scare you?" Teddy asked sleepily from the doorway as he rubbed his eyes.
"You did, little wolf, but it's alright," she smiled at him. She crouched down and let him walk into her arms, "What did you need, love? Were you looking for me?"
The tired boy wrapped himself around her without saying anything. Only when he was settled in her arms, and she'd stood up did he tell her he wanted to go to bed? It made her smile into his hair, but she turned them towards the living room and curled up on the couch with him under a conjured blanket, sending off her patronus just before sleep overwhelmed her once more.
Hermione woke to the feeling of being lifted, strong, warm arms under her knees and back. Stifling a groan, she pried one of her eyes open as a familiar scent wrapped around her.
"Severus?"
"Yes."
She closed her eyes again as a green light momentarily blinded her, "We're going home?" she asked around a yawn, letting her head rest on his shoulder.
Severus chuckled, "Yes. Remus has Ted, they're staying at Grimmuald with Black. But you sent your patronus to me."
"I did?"
"It would seem so. You asked me to collect you when I was leaving."
"I'm sorry," she murmured into his neck.
The arms around her tightened, "Don't be, little witch." She smiled against his cloak as he continued to walk them through the quiet hallways. "You look beautiful," Hermione lifted her head to meet his gaze. His eyes touched hers and she watched his lips quirk up, "I should have told you earlier."
"Thank you," she smirked back. "I really love this dress, I'm glad I could fit into it."
Severus laughed, "You know you're a witch, right?"
"Hush," she shushed him playfully, "It wouldn't have looked the same." Letting her head fall back on his shoulder, she closed her eyes again, letting herself enjoy the feeling of being in his arms.
"I think you would have looked perfectly fine," he said into her hair, making her smirk. "Pregnancy suits you."
Hermione snorted, "Just wait, this is just the beginning. Soon I'll bloat and get sick at the slightest of smells."
They arrived at her portrait, but he didn't let her go. Instead, the door swung open, and he took her directly inside.
"Shouldn't you be having morning sickness already? You're almost out of your first trimester." She leaned back to look at him again, her brows slightly pushed together, "I'm making your potions, I need to know these things."
"Ah, well, last time," he stopped in front of her bedroom door, and she reached down to open it, "I didn't get morning sickness, and so far, I haven't yet. But with Rose, I was terribly sensitive to everything and was revolted by eggs." Severus chuckled. "I guess we'll see if it's the same this time." He set her down gently on the edge of the bed. "Thank you for bringing me back. You didn't have to do so much."
"It was my pleasure. Consider it my penance for not asking you to dance properly."
Hermione smirked around a yawn, "I will dance with you whenever you ask Severus."
He grinned, "Goodnight, Hermione."
"Goodnight," she whispered as he left her room, leaving her door slightly ajar.
Standing, she used her wand to unzip her dress and summon a nightshirt. She barely let the shirt fall to her thighs before collapsing into her sheets, still feeling the warmth of Severus's arms around her as he carried her to her rooms.
