Beneath the Sky, There's Something

It took a while for Luz to realize such feelings, her feelings for Amity. She stopped seeing Amity as a rival, and more as a friend, and then someone so much more. She felt that she never belonged, not in the Human realm, or even in the Demon Realm, the Boiling Isles especially. She had to hold onto something, anything. With all that was happening, she had to at least hold onto Amity, who was her special someone.
Amity spent so long trying to be the top student at Hexside, to be a part of the Emperor's Coven, she had to push such trivial emotions aside. She did what she had to do for others, not for herself, what her heart really wanted. She felt lost, but when she found who her heart wanted, who was Luz, her someone.
They sat outside the Noceda house, the air crisp, and the stars shone above the night sky. They stared up in both awe and wonder.
Blinking, Luz looked away from the sky, and Amity turned her focus on Luz. "What is it?"
Luz soon held out her hand to Amity. "Here."
"Oh, of course." Amity replied, smiling, her cheeks turning pink, and Luz felt her own face grow warm.
Luz couldn't help but smile as Amity reached over, grasping onto her hand, her fingers twined with her own. Her palms were soft, and warm.
Amity rested her head on Luz's shoulder, as they looked heavenward, back to the stars.
They had each other to hold onto now.
